It's if i Add a New Value in the report definition (Peoplesoft 8.5 , CRM ) : No customization in this
Thanks in advance..

Judging by the error, it looks like the xsd can not be constructed.
I would start of by checking if the target location is defined in the Intergration Broker.

  • Migration of our reports from Streamserve to XML publisher in Oracle EBS

    Dear All,
I am working for a company using Oracle Applications 11.5.10.2 and we have several critical reports developped with Streamserve V3 (Customer Invoice , Sales Order Acknowledgment, Shipping Advice, PO layout, ...).
For various reasons we plan to abandon Streamserve and migrate to XML publisher or BI publisher whose functionalities seem to cover most of our needs.
However, my knowledge of XMLP/BIP is quite basic and I need some information on how to implement the reports.
I will be very glad and grateful if someone accepts to share his/her experience by answering a few questions :
    1) What are the main differences between the XML publisher version included in APPS 11.5.10.2 and the standalone version of BI publisher ?
    2) In most of our reports the language depends on the third party (vendor, customer, carrier, ...) so in the same report batch we can have some documents to be printed in English, while some other should be in French.
Is it possible to achieve that with XMLP or is the language to be chosen when submitting the concurrent request ?
    3) As for languages, the delivery of the document (email or printed paper) depends also on the third party.
Is it possible in a same batch to have some documents emailed and other not ?
    4) The bursting engine seems to be the main solution to manage the way documents are delivered.
    a) How can we automatically launch it after the main request completion ? (most of our reports are scheduled to run periodically)
    b) Is it possible to make bursting with a dynamically generated control file ?
    c) What if the bursting engine does not couver all our needs ? Is there a way to develop our own deliver logic ? If so, where to find a step by step procedure to achieve that ? (knowing that we are newbies in Java language)
    5) Some of our reports must be generated in PCL rather than PDF. I think that is not native in XMLP so what may be the workaround ?
Thanks in advance for your very helpfull answers.
    Best regards
    Karim Helali
    Paris, France

Thank you Steven for your quick reply.
    Here are my comments/precisions :
    1) What we would like to konw is what are the functionnalities included only in that standalone version. This way we can decide if it is worth paying the quite expensive extra licence for BIP or if the EBS version of XMLP is enough for us.
I tried out to find this quite basic information without success. If anyone can indicate an oracle reference document
    2) I know that the language is chosen via the template. Also, when you submit an XMLP concurrent request in EBS you have to choose which template to apply for the layout. So it looks like it is not posssible within a unique concurrent request to generate documents in more than one language. Is it so or am I missing something ?
    3) Regarding documents multiple delivery management, I undertsand that we can do it either with bursting engine or with specific JAVA code implementing XMLP APIS. Even we are newbies in JAVA, we can deal with that. But I am quite puzzled as I find nowhere a document that explains how to develop that and especially how to integrate this within EBS.
Let me explain you our current logic with Streamserve and let me know how this can be implemented within XMLP :
    - a report is setup in EBS as Executable type = SqlPlus / Output Type=PDF
    - the SQLPLUS scripts takes into account the user request's parameters and generate an XML(like) file including all the data
    - at the end the SQLPLUS calls a specific shell that runs the Streamserve step : the XML file is passed to the specific streamserve binary report wich generates several outputs (global PDF for the concurrent request output + global PCL flow sent to the printer queue + 0-n physical file(s) for archiving + 0-n email(s) sent ...)
    - The language and delivery modes are not unique within a batch: they are decided per document in the streamserve binary report (based on third party setup included in the XML data file). So we don't need to launch a report batch per language or delivery mode.
I think such process should be possible using XMLP java APIS but I am quite stuck as I don't know how to start. Has anyone implemented such a global process in EBS with XML ?
    Thanks again

  • Exceptional Discount in invoice Report

    Hi,
Under purchasing reports under Main menu,we are having 'exceptional discount in invoices ' report. What is the significance  of that? .Because there  it will show only the A/R Invoice report. Why it is given in Purchasing?
      Can u explain?
    Regards,
    Sekar

    Hi Sekar,
It is not a big deal to me.  If you select Main Menu - Report, you will find Sales & Purchase is under one menu item. You may create your own Exceptional Discount in Purchase Invoice report based on system report.  It would be a simple report.
    Thanks,

  • XML publisher report with a template file missing

    I get the following error
Active template file not found in the template definition <TEMPLATE_NAME> for date <EFFDT>. (235,2515)
    PSXP_RPTDEFNMANAGER.TemplateDefn.OnExecute Name:GetActiveTemplateFile PCPC:15872 Statement:346
    but in
Reporting Tools > XML Publisher > Report Definition > Template tab
I did have the setting Effective date, what cause the problem?

Have a look at following post and run the sql in this post to see if your template definition is missing.
    http://peoplesoft.wikidot.com/xml-publisher-template-file-missing
You could also run Application Engine PSXPCLEAN to clean orphan rows.
Are you running the report online or through PeopleCode?
In last case make sure the effdt is set correct in PeopleCode.
Also have a look if your server time settings are correct.

  • XML publisher multiple templates in a single report

    Hello
We are currently implementing PeopleSoft benefits where the user will have an option to select a benefit template from multiple selections and create a report form based from the combination of template he selected.
My question would be based from the multiple templates, is it possible if the templates be printed out into just one report using xml publisher?
    thank you!

Yes. This is possible by using sub templates.
You can declare sub templates in the beginning and then call the sub template.
You will need to register the sub templates in "Content Library" (Reporting Tools > XML Publisher> Content Library) to be able to call thses from another template.

  • Generate java source cod/ contect menu

I am new to JDeveloper, so please excuse the ignorance. I am using JDeveloper 9.0.3.10.35 and UML modelers 9.0.3.9.4. I am going through the JDeveloper tutorial( Modeling Java Classes tutorial). I design a Class model and i try to generate java source code for some of the java interfaces in the design. The tutorial sates: Choose Generate|Java from the contect menu.
Any idea where is this mysterious conext menu? There is a generate option under model but every thing is grayed out...Any help would be appriciated.

Thanks Lisa. The problem really was with the poor instructions provided and a tired mind. There is no "context menu" ala right click on something BTW, right clicking on the main design page does not do any thing and right clicking a class only gives the properties. Anyway, what was meant, i think is to select Java from the main menu "model" and then select Generate/Java. Now since the code is "automatically generated", the Java option was grayed out and that threw me off.
To descover all this i re-did the whole tutorial with only one class and viola, the code was there.

  • Return to Main Menu

I have several Captivate projects that launch from a Main
Menu project. In the Project Preferences, Project end options, I
have selected to end these projects by launching the Main Menu
project. I published all projects as Flash files because I plan to
distribute them via CD. When I click the Exit button on the skin
playback controls, I get the following message: "The Web page you
are viewing is trying to close the window. Do you want to close
this window?" If I click Yes, I exit from the published Captivate
project. I have two questions: 1) how can I either keep the Main
Menu project open underneath the other modules (projects) or return
to it once I exit the other modules, and 2) how can I get rid of
    the Exit question?

Hi Evelita, and welcome to the Community!
The warning you see is there to keep you from "sawing off the
branch you are sitting on", so to speak, in Internet Explorer. It
only appears if the instance of IE you are viewing the movie in is
the only instance open. If your movie is launched from a menu in
another IE window - and the menu window is left open - you will not
    be shown the warning notice.
So the "fix" is to have a menu-movie or a menu-HTM page, and
when the user starts to view a movie from the menu, have him/her
view it in a "New" window, leaving the menu open beneath it.
To do that, when you use a click-box, button, or in your
case, the Project Start and End options, look at the right side of
the blank where you enter the movie you want to jump to and you
will see a carat, or downward-facing half-diamond. Click it and
select "New" as the window type to use.
Have a good day, and once again, welcome to the User
    Community!

  • Security - Query - XML Publisher

    Hello,
I need some help concerning the security for queries and XML Publisher.
I am on an HR peoplesoft, tools8.49.
When I am with user PS I see my query in query manager and my XML Publisher report.
My query is Public and my report definition for XML Publisher too.
My problem is that I am not able to publish my query to see it in query viewer and I suppose (perhaps I'm wrong) that's why when I'm connecting with another user which have access to the security query tree to see this query, I am not able to see my XML Publisher report definition.
Could you tell me where I should search to publish this query in query viewer ? Or is it something special to do to see my XML Publisher report definition ?
    Any ideas are welcome.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Problem solved : I have forgotten to add my role in Reporting Tools > XML Publisher > Setup > Report Category.

  • XML Publisher Information

    Hi,
I am a oracle technical. I have worked on forms , reports, discoverer, interfaces, apis etc. I am have following question regarding XML publisher.
    1. What is XML publisher. Administration and Desktop are what. what we can do with each of these two tools.
    2. Can we say XML administration is like Discoverer administration, and desktop is like discoverer desktop.
    3. where these templates places role.
    4. i have seen in R12 there is XML output. How to generated XML output from the concurrent program output.
    5. how can i develop a XML report from starting, template development.
    6. can any one tells the flow of the XML report output, which tool places what role....
    7. Any training material availble giving same apart from Oracle sites information (this site confuses alot.)
In discoverer, first we carete a business area and create custom folder and write the custom sql. then go to desktop edition and create a worksheet and run the report from applications.
Can any one tells me how this create of process exists in the XML reports case.
    Regards/Prasanth

    Hi Prasanth,
I am trying to answer some of your queries with respect to Oracle Applications.
    1. What is XML publisher. Administration and Desktop are what. what we can do with each of these two tools.XML Publisher administrator helps you in defining a XML data definition and its related templates. The data definition links the concurrent program to a template (which can be a RTF or a PDF document.). These tools are very much helpful in producing reports in multiple formats with ease. These tools seperates logic of a report from their layout.
    2. Can we say XML administration is like Discoverer administration, and desktop is like discoverer desktop. In a sense they are similar, unlike discoverer desktop the XML publisher desktop allows you to create your own layout (template). In oracle applications concurrent programs can be used to create the XML output. Oracle apps provides a seeded responsibility called "XML Publisher Administrator" for creating data definition and templates.
    3. where these templates places role.Templates are used to define layout. Just like the layout in oracle reports, these templates can be created in word or PDF which gives more flexibility and convenience in formatting the output.
    4. i have seen in R12 there is XML output. How to generated XML output from the concurrent program output. When you define a concurrent program, you can specify the output format as XML to generate XML output. Remember the output of the program must produce a XML. Oracle reports can generate XML output Or you can generate from a PL/SQL procedure.
    5. how can i develop a XML report from starting, template development.Simplest way of doing this is to create a report with no layout (just create the query and group it the way you need). Define a concurrent request with output of XML, Go to XML Publisher Administrator and create a data definition. Create a template for the data definition. Make sure the concurrent program short name is the code for data definition. Thats it.
    6. can any one tells the flow of the XML report output, which tool places what role....I believe the above explanation is the best answer for this query.
Hope this helps you in a basic overview of XML publisher.
    Regards
    Venkat

  • XML Publisher report failing with java.lang.outofmemoryerror.

    Hi,
We have developed a custom Oracle report that produces an XML output file that is about 13M in size (about 18K rows from the database). When running report as concurrent request, post processing fails with java.lang.outofmemoryerror. The failure occurs when specifying output format as Excel, RTF or HTML. However, the process completes successfully when specifying output format as PDF. We have also noticed that Excel, RTF and HTML will complete successfully if the XML data file is smaller (around 3M).
Is anyone aware of a restriction on the size of the XML data file when specifying output formats Excel, RTF or HTML? We have tried setting temp directory but that has not helped.
    Thanks.

    Hi
I found this at metalink [Note:390968.1].. hope it helps =)
Symptoms: When attempting to run an XML Publisher concurrent program the following error occurs:
ERROR: Warning!!! Got out of memory exception, retrying with scalable option..
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
    Oracle.apps.xdo.oa.cp.JCP4XDODataEngine
    Program exited with status 1
Solution: To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    1. Login select the responsibility: System Administrator.
    2. Navigate to Concurrent > Program > Define.
    3. Query for concurrent program that is receiving the error.
    4. In the 'Options' field please enter -Xmx512M.
    5. Save the change and retest the issue.
    6. If the report still fails with the option set to -Xmx512M change the value to -Xmx1024M, save and try again
    7. Migrate the solution as appropriate to other environments.

  • Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodeError: main

I'm trying to learn Java, but even the simple HelloWord won't run.
It compiles fine with: javac HelloWorld.java
But when I run the program with: java Helloworld or java -classpath . HelloWorld
I always get the following error message: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodeError: main
    Path = ....;C:\j2sdk1.4.1\bin
    Classpath = C:\j2sdk1.4.1\lib\tools.jar;c:\j2sdk1.4.1\src.zip;c:\Java
    c:\Java is where I've stored HelloWorld.java.
I'm using Java 2 SDK 1.4.1 on a Windows XP Pro platform.
Here the simple code for HelloWorld:
    public class HelloWorld{
    public static void main(String[] args){
    System.out.println("Hello World!");
Who out there can help me along. I want to learn Java, but if I can't even run the simplest application, it's hopeless.
You can mail me: [email protected]
    or leave a message here.
    thx

It should run with things as you've set them up. I copied, compiled and ran the program ok.
Watch your capitalization; there is an error in your post (but maybe you just posted wrong):
But when I run the program with: java Helloworld or java -classpath . HelloWorldSearch for another file that has the same name - but is an applet, without the main method; that is what the error is saying it found.
Delete all the HelloWorld .java & .class files, recreate the program file, recompile and try running the new copy. There may be a non-visible error in the file.
Make sure you run as follows:
In the same directory as HelloWorld.java, enter "javac" - the program should print out a list of options, if not, set your PATH - see below.
In the same directory as HelloWorld.java, enter "javac HelloWorld.java" and the javac compiler will create HelloWorld.class. If it was successful it will not give any messages. Check that the file is created.
In the same directory as HelloWorld.java, enter "java -cp . HelloWorld" with the spaces and the period. The program will run.
    Here is additional information:
The Path is a set of pointers that Windows uses to locate programs that you execute, like javac.exe and java.exe. This setting is explained here:
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/install-windows.html
Scroll down to: 5. Update the PATH variable
(you should have already done this as part of the s/w installation)
The CLASSPATH is another set of pointers that is used by Java to find the files that you create and want compiled and/or run. This setting is explained here:
