Java.exe with 9ias

Has anyone out there run into an issue with java.exe and 9ias running on NT4.0? It seems that java.exe reaches approx. 40MB then we get an apache.exe Dr. Watson error and our server is down. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Rod,
This question is better suited to the Oracle9i Applications Server forum.

  • SQL Developer asks for java.exe with the version that has java built in.

    I have a user with the following platform:
    Windows XP2
    SQL Developer Version 1.5.4
    The version they are trying to get running is the one that has the JDK built in. However, when they try and startup SQL Developer it asks for the location of java.exe.
    However, when I run the same exact version on my workstation, I do not receive the prompt for a java.exe.
    I checked the documentation, and I couldn't find anything related to this particular issue, however I may have missed it.
    Can anyone provide me with any guidance please? Thanks.

    Resolved. There was a difference of permissions on the user's machine.

  • Console window doesn't show on second start of java.exe

    I am building restart capability into my product.
    When the product is started for the first time, it is started through a Windows EXE using a ShellExecuteEx method. I simply launch "java.exe" with my classpath, etc. My Windows console window shows up and I am happy.
    When a do a restart of the app, I am inside of the original JVM. I have access to the exact same commandline that I used in the EXE to launch "java.exe" originally.
    With the restart, I simply call Runtime.getRuntime().exec(commandline) and pass in the exact same commandline that I passed in when I did this in the EXE. However, when I do this from within the JVM, I do not get my Windows console window. This is not good.
    Does anybody understandn what is going on here and how I can remedy this?
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    I'm not sure what is happening in your case.
    Do the images initially show in "Tools > Page Info > Media" or is that always with size 0px?
    Quote: ''but if i click on same link second time than size gets right and image is shown under preview box.''
    Is that with clicking on the web page?
    Can you load the images via the links that you see in "Tools > Page Info > Media" without any problems?
    Do you see the request for those images in the Network tab in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) and what is the server response in that case?

  • Java.exe problem

    Hi,
    Would anybody please help me with this problem.
    I tried to execute java.exe with the command: java -Djava.library.path=E:\Program Files\Testing TestApp, it threw exception could not find the the path since there is a blank space between Program Files. I tried to put quotation marks around them, I got same problem. Java command seemed like did not like space. If I move my lib to new place e.g Test and execute my TestApp with the command: java -Djava.library.path=E:\Test TestApp, it worked fine. How can I solve this problem without remove space in the path.
    Thanks
    Hung

    i think you want to point to your programe classes.
    if so use
    java -classpath "E:\Program Files\Testing" TestApp
    because
    java.library.path contains many pathes related to JRE.
    D:\Java\sdk\jre\bin;.;C:\WINDOWS\System32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\system32;C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\System32\Wbem;D:\Java\sdk;D:\Java\sdk\bin;D:\Java\J2EE\bin;D:\Java\WSDP\bin;D:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Tools\WinNT;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\Bin;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Tools;C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\bin;C:\Program Files\SSH Communications Security\SSH Secure Shell
    try this
    System.out.println(System.getProperty("java.library.path"));-Best regards,

  • Jmc.dll crashes java.exe

    First of thanks Sun's engineers for hard work on Java and JavaFX! I really enjoyed the features and demos from javafx.com.
    Unfortunatly all of the demos involving media playback are crashing java.exe with jmc.dll being guilty (probably access violation - jmc.dll in the error dialog reports 0.0.0.0 version - but not sure). Well, I think it is my system's fault, because when I got rid of all codecs that could play mp3, java.exe stopped crashing (at least for DraggableMP3Player demo, SimpleVideoPlayer crashes without writing hs_err), but gave me MediaUnsupportedException. Regarding fixing my system - I'd like to avoid the pleasure of reinstalling Windows and I think it would be good for others having this problem to nail the cause of it. Could you explain how jmc.dll is dealing with platform codecs? How it checks what is installed? Does anyone else seen jmc.dll crashing java? Could it be hardware issue (I have nforce2 sound card)?
    I've created issue [http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-2530] if you have the same problem please vote for it (you first need to register for free :))

    I sure have put some work in this bug. I hope this will be gone soon :). I'm somewhat surprised that nobody seen it beside me - no votes, no blogs about it. But UnsupportedMediaException is known for sure and I believe it is related (that's why I've voted for it). Thanks for all your sweat, tears and blood you put in JavaFX! :)

  • How to get Class Name given along with java.exe

    Hi friends,
    I am Mukesh, currently facing one problem
    On command prompt to execute any java program we give :
    C : \.-- > java ClassName
    This ClassName I need in my application, I want to do some post processing on that.
    Actually see what I want :
    public class Base
    static Base object;
    public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception
    object=(Base)Class.forName("Derived Class Name").newInstance();
    void main()
    public class Derived extends Base
    void main()
    System.out.println("Hello World");
    I am trying to Run Derived Class, since there is no entry point found, default JVM invoke the Base class's entry point, there I want to load
    Derived Class, but I am not getting any identity of derived class in Base class.
    I found one temporary solution to this problem :
    C: \ -- >java Derived Derived
    & in Base class, I have loaded class
    object=Class.forName(args[0]).newInstance();
    But I dont want to write the same thing twise just to know the Class name which is given along with java.exe.
    Is there any way to get the ClassName supplied with java.exe
    I have tried a lot, still I am trying !!!
    If any one knows the answer, help me.
    Regards.

  • Problem with java applications - java.exe in loop

    Hi
    I just install j2sdk1.4.1_01
    I got a problem:
    when I run any code without graphics (clasic hello world with println) everything run fine
    when I try to run anythig else (with some swing) the java.exe process start to use 100% of the CPU and never end (probably a loop)
    The same think happen when I launch Java web Start so I suppose that the problem is not the code (I just use some dialog with one or two buttons and the application run fine on other pc).
    My system:
    OS: w2k server - SP3
    CPU: P4 1.8GHz
    RAM: 512 MB
    several services running: IIS with dhcp server, DNS server.
    The system was scanned and no viruses are found.
    I unistall everything (j2sdk, jre, web start) and I got the same after reinstalling them.
    I launch the application from the comand line and the results doesn't change.
    I install a different version of SDK (02 instead of 01) but nothing change.
    The same happens if I try to use jbuilder8.
    Any idea

    Try updating DirectX.

  • Java.exe crashing with Dr Watson access violation at address 500bf974

    We have been sucessfully runing an application delveloped with JDK 1.2.2 on a Pentium III machine with Windows NT 4 SP5 (384Mb RAM). I have replaced the Pentium III machine with a pentium 4 with 1Gb RAM (still running NT4 SP5). In fact, I simply took the HDD out of the PIII and installed it in the P4.
    All applications work correctly (Sybiz Vision, MS Office 97 suite), however, when I go to run the java application is crashes and a Dr Watson Access Violation in java.exe error is generated.
    I have:
    1. Reinstalled the JDK 1.2.2.
    2. Confirmed that all hardware drivers (new NIC, Video and Sound Card) were updated with the appropriate versions from the hardware suppliers web pages.
    3. Read thru previous posts on this site (and others) for similar errors, but have only been able to find similar questions.
    4. Lowered the video card display colours to 256 rather than 65,536.
    None of the above have made any difference.
    I hope this question will prompt the java/Dr Watson gurus out there to help me resolve this frustrating problem.
    Thanks in anticipation.
    Greg

    Consider getting 1.2.2_014, or whatever is the latest version of 1.2.2. I think there were some issues with Pentium IV processors which were fixed in one of the later incarnations of the JDK.
    You can get the latest version of 1.2.2 from the following url:

  • Problem with java.exe

    Hi there, I have had Java 1.4 SDK running on my machine now for several month however I am now experiencing problems when trying to run java.exe....
    Whenever I try to run (for example):
    java helloWorldI get the following error message:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: helloWorld
    Yes I did compile the files... and yes I am in the right direcotry.. this happens on every single file I have. Can anyone suggest what might be wrong? And how to fix this... also no java applets will run on the web.
    Thankyou, Mark.

    Type the following at the command line:
    echo %CLASSPATH%
    The result should contain a . with ; around it (unless it's the first/last item). This means to include the current directory in the search path for java classes.
    Without this java will only search the locations specified in the classpath.
    To add it you need to set an environment variable, if you have NT/2K/XP you can do this from the 'advanced' tab of the system properties, on other OS's I cant remember the permanent manner but for a temporary fix you could type:
    set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;.
    At the command line then type:
    java <My Progam Name>
    Hope this helps.

  • Trouble with java.exe

    I'm new to using Java, here is my problem, I'm running windows XP professional, I've download and installed j2re1.4.1, when I try to open Java.exe, a DOS command screen opens and closes and nothing else happens, when I try to open one of the games that came with it nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

    you can't 'open' java.exe
    That file represents the Java interpreter. It must be passed a valid .class file that contains a main() function.

  • 2x java.exe and j2launcher.exe !! with Java 1.7 Update 17

    Helo,
    Forms 10.1.2.3
    Java 1.7 17
    Windows 7
    I know Forms 10.1.2.3. does not support Java 7 !
    Still my question.
    I have provided the workaround with the parameter java.vendor = "Sun .....".
    Thus, the application works. With Java 1.7 Update 03 I had no problems.
    Now I've switched to 1.7 Update 17 and have the following behavior:
    The Java console is opened twice. Likewise, I see in the taskmanager suddenly two jp2launcher.exe and two java.exe processes.
    with Update 03, there was only one process !
    Can anyone tell me why?

    7u21 with medium security is better than 7u17 with high security. This is because u21 has fixed 42 security issues. So even with u21 on medium, you're less exposed that the high level of security on u17.

  • Java.exe crashes with windows access exception

    When OracleASHome102HTTPServer starts I get a Win2000 access exception c0000005 on java.exe. Little DrWatson window pops up... O9i logs Logs show nothing. Only drwatson shows problem info, assembler dump, ets...
    Anyone know what's wrong? I've got O9iAS 1.0.2.0, Win2000SP1, Pentium 4, 1.4GHz, 512Mg RAM?
    I know there is a problem with the jre JIT compiler on the P4. Got around this during O9iAS installation by using the '-nojit' parameter on all invocations of jrew.exe and jre.exe. Is my java.exe problem still with the P4 chip?

  • A simple Java program to be compiled with ojc and executed with java.exe

    Hi ,
    This thread is relevant to Oracle Java Compiler (file ojc) and jave.exe file.
    I have written a simple java program which consists of two simple simple classes and using the JDev's 10.1.3.2 ojc and java files , i'm trying to execute it after the successful compilation....
    The problem is that trying to run it... the error :
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: EmployeeTest
    appears.
    How can i solve this problem...????
    The program is as follows:
    import java.util.*;
    import corejava.*;
    public class EmployeeTest
    {  public static void main(String[] args)
       {  Employee[] staff = new Employee[3];
          staff[0] = new Employee("Harry Hacker", 35000,
             new Day(1989,10,1));
          staff[1] = new Employee("Carl Cracker", 75000,
             new Day(1987,12,15));
          staff[2] = new Employee("Tony Tester", 38000,
             new Day(1990,3,15));
          int i;
          for (i = 0; i < 3; i++) staff.raiseSalary(5);
    for (i = 0; i < 3; i++) staff[i].print();
    class Employee
    {  public Employee(String n, double s, Day d)
    {  name = n;
    salary = s;
    hireDay = d;
    public void print()
    {  System.out.println(name + "...." + salary + "...."
    + hireYear());
    public void raiseSalary(double byPercent)
    {  salary *= 1 + byPercent / 100;
    public int hireYear()
    {  return hireDay.getYear();
    private String name;
    private double salary;
    private Day hireDay;
    For compilation... i use :
    D:\ORACLE_UNZIPPED\JDeveloper_10.1.3.2\jdev\bin\ojc -classpath D:\E-Book\Java\Sun_Java_Book_I\Corejava EmployeeTest.java
    For execution , i issue the command:
    D:\ORACLE_UNZIPPED\JDeveloper_10.1.3.2\jdk\bin\java EmployeeTest
    NOTE:I tried to use the jdk of Oracle database v.2 but the error :
    Unable to initialize JVM appeared....
    Thanks , a lot
    Simon

    Hi,
    Thanks god....
    I found a solution without using Jdev.....
    C:\oracle_files\Java\Examples>SET CLASSPATH=.;D:\E-Book\Java\Sun_Java_Book_I\Corejava
    C:\oracle_files\Java\Examples>D:\ORACLE_UNZIPPED\JDeveloper_10.1.3.2\jdk\bin\javac EmployeeTest.java
    C:\oracle_files\Java\Examples>D:\ORACLE_UNZIPPED\JDeveloper_10.1.3.2\jdk\bin\java EmployeeTest
    What does Ant has to do with this?Sorry, under the Ant tree a classpath label is found....I'm very new to Java and JDev...
    You need to include the jar file that has the Day method in it inside project properties->libraries.I have not .jar file.. just some .java files under the corejava directory.... By the way , I have inserted the corejava directory to the project pressing the button Add Jar/Directory.... , but the problem insists..
    Thanks , a lot

  • Setup cocoon with 9ias 9.0.2 under windows NT

    Setup Cocoon with 9ias OC4J (9.0.2) under Windows NT
    This was a painful process for me. I finally made it work. Thought my story might help someone else. If anyone sees anything that could cause problems down the line, please let me know.
    NOTE: This took me a week to get right, so the restarts I suggest may not be appropriate, just guesses on my part.
    A. FIRST SECTION (Based off of steps 9 - 11 of Metalink note 148497.1) - This deploys the cocoon.war file
    1. Copy cocoon.war file to oracle 9ias home in the j2ee/home/applications directory. (NOT cocoon_jvm14. I tried to use the cocoon with jvm1.4. The version of 9ias I use wanted 1.3, so that is what I ended up using.)
    NOTE: I followed the 9-11 steps from the above note the first time and manually changed the files below, but when I had to reboot my machine a couple of days later it lost the changes. So I went in thru OEM and did it there and have had no problems. These steps are detailed below.
    2. Log into Oracle Enterprise Manager. Click on 9ias instance. Click OC4J_home.
    3. Go to Advanced Properties. Edit the default-web-site.xml file. Look for the statement <default-web-app application="default" name="defaultWebApp" root="/j2ee"/>. After that statement, add the following: <web-app application="default" name="cocoon" root="/cocoon"/>
    4. Go back to OC4J_home. Click on default link near the top of the page. (It has a Path underneath is that says application.xml) Then click on Advanced Properties. Edit the application.xml file. Look for the statement <web-module id="defaultWebApp" path="../../home/default-web-app"/>. After that statement, add the following: <web-module id="cocoon" path="../../home/applications/cocoon.war"/>.
    5. Go back to 9ias instance and do a "Restart All".
    B. SECOND SECTION ( Based off of Metalink note 184826.1)
    1. Go to the Apache/Apache/conf/mod_oc4j.conf file underneath your 9ias home. Add the following line at the bottom of the file: Oc4jMount /cocoon/* home
    Either "Restart All" from OEM again, or follow step 3 from the note. WARNING: I read somewhere that if you try to do the dos dcm/opmn stuff with the OEM at the same time, that you have corruption problems? So close the OEM if you do the dos commands just in case.
    C. THIRD SECTION (This is what I did with the Cocoon jars to make 9ias/oc4J find them and use them. I am by no means saying this is the correct way. Just a way. If anyone has a different way, I would appreciate hearing it.)
    1. Go to 9ias home and in the j2ee/home directory make a new folder. (I called mine xerces.) Copy the following jar files, found in the j2ee/home/applications/cocoon/web-inf/lib directory (this dir will show up after cocoon.war is deployed with the A. FIRST SECTION restart), into your new folder:
    a. batik-all-1.5b2.jar
    b. xalan-2.3.1.jar
    c. xercesImpl-2.0.0.jar
    d. xml-apis.jar
    2. Log into the Oracle Enterprise Manager. Click on OC4J_home. Click on Server Properties. Scroll down to the bottom and type the following into Java Options: -Djava.ext.dirs=xerces. (If you named your new folder xerces.)
    D. LAST SECTION
    1. I rebooted my machine and said a prayer. From the url "http://myhost:7777/cocoon/" I got the cocoon welcome page!

    I've heard rumors its about a month away. We were waiting for it, but then
    decided to go to Linux, as it probably performs better, and the release for
    Linux is already out. 9.0.2 is certified on Linux:
    - SuSe SLES7
    - Red Hat Advanced Server 2.1
    Waiting for Oracle to release a software product seems almost like waiting
    for a sunny day in Seattle -- you eventaly get it, but its unpredicatable
    as to when it will actually be at best...
