Java file not included .

I have:
import org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Shell;in my program. But this is showing a 'cannot resolve' error.
I found that this file was actually in a winzip extractor,so I extracted it in the workspace folder .But it is still not accessible.
I cannot figure out from where the program is importing it's file.
What is the problem? Where does the folder "org/eclipse/swt/widgets" need to be ?

It's in a jar. Probably SWT.jar. Include that in your library path, although I'm guessing you're using Eclipse, it usually has a class library specifically containing SWT dependencies. Read teh docs

  • Properties files in a Java package not included in DC build

    We are developing a Portal Standalone DC and i have a JspDynPage component within it. and i need to do internationalization in  it. so as part of that i want to keep multiple resource bundles(properties) so that i could manage my properties files easily, For example
    MSS.properties
    MSS_es.properties
    ESS.properties
    LSO.properties
    since portal by default has no way to do this bcos it allows only one resourcebundle to specify in portalapp.xml file, i have kept the resource bundles in java package like
    com.companyname.portal.resources.
    when i export from NWDS with selection of "i want to add non java resources into jar " option from windows->preferences->enterprise portal ->application development studio, it exports all the properties files as part of the par and everything works. but when i do the DC build it ignores all my properties files and it is not working. any suggestions on how to resolve this??? does SAP provide any other way of handling multiple properties files inside a PAR?????

    We are using NWDS 2004 SP19.  and yes i have defined three default SCs as dependencies. I tested with 2004s NWDS and it seems work fine. I am able to resovle this issue by moving my properties files into another java DC and create public part in java DC and use those public parts in Portal application DC.
    So The problem of not including the properties files into Jar seems to be issue only in Portal Application DC not in Java DC. thanks everyone for the quick responses..

  • Problem - Scanner.java file not found

    Hello all, I've been having a problem with a Java installation on windows vista. I've installed both the Java 2 1.4.2_16 sdk, and the Java EE 5 update 3 sdk. However, neither install contains the Scanner.java file... On my desktop running XP, this is not the case. I've tried reinstalling but to no avail. My classpath is set correctly because my programs compile that import java.util.*; But when I create a scanner object I get the dreaded can't resolve symbol error, but only when I compile under vista... Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :)

    Scanner was implemented beginning with v1.5x, and comes in the JDK SE, not the EE.

    Nothing really seemed to work when trying to solve this problem, just suddenly it stopped appearing. It might have been our installation of SPS 15, since it was around that time that the error went away.

  • Java files not compiling

    i have 3 java files that im trying to compile for my CS class:
    IntCalc.java
    IntCalcPanel.java
    IntCalcGUI.java
    the panel uses IntCalc for an object and the GUI uses the panel as an object.
    i cannot compile the panel or the GUI in the command prompt because it says
    IntegerCalculatorPanel.java:17: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class IntegerCalculator
    location: class IntegerCalculatorPanel
    IntegerCalculator calc = new IntegerCalculator();
    ^
    IntegerCalculatorPanel.java:17: cannot find symbol
    symbol : class IntegerCalculator
    location: class IntegerCalculatorPanel
    IntegerCalculator calc = new IntegerCalculator();
    ^
    2 errors
    even though all three files are in the same directory
    these files WILL compile if i use an IDE. i tried jGRASP and they compile and run fine.
    what do i do to fix this?
    (xp pro)

    For classpath, you can shorten the word to "-cp", I
    believe (it doesn't work on our Java at work, becauseNo, that will not work in this case!
    -cp only works on the java command (to execute Java programs), not on javac (the compiler). Stupid, isn't it?
    Make sure that your CLASSPATH environment variable is not set - that will make Java use the current directory as the default, and you won't have to type "-classpath ." every time.
    If you're starting a serious project with lots of source files, I suggest you have a look at Ant to manage your build process.

  • Applet java file not refreshing in browser

    I have an applet that I am updating and I am not seeing the corresponding update when I open the web page. I can manually download the java class file and look inside it and it definitely is the updated file. I have deleted the browser history. (I am running tests with Firefox 3, IE7, and Safari 4 public beta). Is there something else I need to do to make sure the browser pulls in the latest version of the class file referenced in the html?
    Here is the code:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
       <TITLE>A Simple Program</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
       <CENTER>
          <APPLET CODE="SendRequest.class" WIDTH="500" HEIGHT="150">
          </APPLET>
       </CENTER>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>The applet refers to a hard coded URL to read through a urlconnection. It is always reading a file and showing content, but it is not showing the right file. If I change the name of the referenced file in the java program, it looks like the browser has cached the referred file, rather than throwing and error and saying the file doesn't exist.
    Here is the java
    import java.applet.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.net.URLConnection;
    import java.net.URL;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import java.lang.String;
    import java.io.*;
    public class SendRequest extends Applet {
        @Override
        public void paint(Graphics g) {
            g.drawRect(0, 0, 499, 149);
            g.drawString(getResponseText(), 5, 70);
        public String getResponseText() {
            try {
                URL url = new URL("http://myserver.com/stats/logs/ex20090603000001-72.167.131.217.log");
                URLConnection urlconn = url.openConnection();
                BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(
                                    new InputStreamReader(
                                    urlconn.getInputStream()));
                String inputLine;
                String htmlFile = "";
                try {
                    while ((inputLine = in.readLine()) != null)
                        htmlFile += inputLine;
                    in.close();
                    return htmlFile;
                } catch (Exception e) {
                    return "Can't get the string.";
            } catch (Exception e) {
                return "Problem accessing the response text.";
    }Any help would be appreciated. I heard that some files may cache more persistently than others, but I don't fully understand the details.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Check this [document loader example|http://pscode.org/test/docload/] & follow the link to sandbox.html for tips on clearing the class cache. That relates specifically to caching a refused security certificate, but class caching is much the same. As an aside, getting a console can be tricky in modern times (unless the applet fails completely). It is handy to configure the [Java Control Panel|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/information/player.jnlp] to pop the Java console on finding an applet (Advanced tab - Settings/Java Console/Show Console).
    Of course there are two better tools for testing applets, especially in regard to class caching. AppletViewer and Appleteer both make class refresh fairly easy. Appleteer is the better of the two. I can tell you that with confidence, since I wrote it. ;-)

  • VIDEO_TS or HVDVD_TS folder files not included in final disc

    I'm trying to burn an HD DVD project and after the compile completes successfully I get a string of error messages in the Log telling me that the .BUP, .IFO, .EVO, .LAY files found in VIDEO_TS or HVDVD_TS folder will not be included in the final disc. When I try to play the finished disc in a regular set-top DVD player it doesn't play. (It will play in an Apple Computer)
    I can't figure out how to fix this.

    I don't know why you are getting those errors. Maybe someone else will come along and help with that.
    You are still using a media that has a very small range of options to play. I would start a new SD DVDSP project and take things from there.

    Editing other domains is a scenario fraught with peril, which is why it was
    deprecated and removed from the console. It looks to me that the error
    message sums up the problem, ther eis no applications directory in the
    peoplesoft domain? Have you tried creating that directory from the file
    system?
    cheers

    We get the followign when we navigate to the 'Peoplesoft' domain and then
    add a servlet and attempt to "persist".
    everything else seems to work fine.
    By navigating to the peolesoft domain, we open the default server
    and use "edit other domain" to pull up the console. then navigate toportal ->
    edit descriptors.
    OS is an Win2k Server.
    Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Changes in server side java file not reflecting in Client side java code?

    Hi friends,
    iam using eclipse IDE, JBoss server, SWING GUI and Oracle DB
    ( looks like : SWINGGUI (Client) <--> EJB's (serverside) <---oracle )
    my problem is , when i make change in server side bean file, that changes are not reflecting in GUI programs.
    (for ex: iam adding settr and getter for a field and using that in GUI program. but its not identifying that setter or getter).
    please tell me what should i do for every change done to server side program, that should reflect / available to GUI?

    my problem is , when i make change in server side bean file, that changes are not reflecting in GUI programs.
    (for ex: iam adding settr and getter for a field and using that in GUI program. but its not identifying that setter or getter).what do you mean it's not "identifying" the methods?
    you have to call those methods you know
    are you getting NoSuchMethodError?
    please tell me what should i do for every change done to server side program, that should reflect / available to GUI?you haven't posted any code or error messages that might help us debug

  • .THM Sidecar Files Not Included When Importing Video Directly From Camera (Canon 7d)

    Lightroom (3.4) has always copied the .THM sidecard files when I have imported video files from my Canon 7d using a card reader.  However I am on a trip and have forgotten my card reader so I have been copying directly from the camera and for some reason Lightroom is not copying the .THM sidecar files and thus I am missing all my valuable metadata such as camera, exposure, focal length, ISO, etc. associated with the video files.  Very frustrating!
    Any ideas?

    Also because I do not have a card reader I cannot grab the .thm files myself.  Mac OS X (and I think Windows) just see the camera as a "device" and offer to import but do not give me direct access to the files.  Maybe if there is an app that will allow me to do that when the camera is connected I can work around this for now.

  • Can Java reflect not only .Class file

    Hi' i'm newbie in this topic, i'm really appreciate if somebody can help me..cos i'm really stuck in here...
    My Problems are :
    1. i want to ask about this, can Java reflect from .java file?
    2. i'm using Eclipse IDE, i'm really interesting about how JTree or Package Explorer in Eclipse can always displaying update information about class structure? but .java files not compiled, how can? if Eclipse using reflection, .java files must be compiled first, correct me if i'm wrong?
    The fact is Eclipse don't have to compiled .java files to get the update information about class structure and displaying in JTree or package Explorer...how implement like this?
    what i mean like this :
    ex : if i type int x = 100; (not only int, it could be anything else..) at the working files, JTree or Package Explorer in Eclipse can always update the informasion about class structure, but .java files not compiled..
    i hope my question are easy to understand, i really need some help..
    Thanks a lot..

    hey, thanks for the answers, but i would like to ask :
    1) Eclipse performs background compilation of the Java sources, then performs reflection on those temporary classes++ if i'm using this way, how about the performance? seems that it will be compiled all the time right?
    2) Eclipse has access to the results of the Java source code parser, and can extract the information from the java syntax parser, before it gets to the compilation stage.++ how to implement this? what do you mean about java syntax parser?
    do you know where i can find any article about this?
    thanks a lot again...

  • BUG: error rebuilding SQLJ files along other java files with generic

    I have done a rebuild on a package containing some SQLJ files, and (consistently) got the following error:
    C:\TeleMessage\trunk\src\telemessage\db\impl\dbAdmin.sqlj
        Error(44,18): Java Parsing. Encountered: <
        Expected: <IDENTIFIER> ...; "[" ...; The error at the cursor in the given file is not possible, since there was no '<' there, and besides - if I non-aggresively changed the file, e.g. narrowed imports, changed whitespace or added comments - the error remained in the same location.
    I went and done a search using regex in the package, for a line starting with 17 chars followed by a '<'.
    I found it in one of the normal JAVA files (not-SQLJ), at line 44 (surprise!) - in a Java 5 generics declaration, e.g. Map<String,Integer>. the 18th character was indeed the '<'.
    I'm guessing that the SQLJ translator (accidentally?) parses non-SQLJ files.
    If this cannot be fixed, it is really bad - it is one thing that JDeveloper cannot support Java 5 language features because of its dependancy in the SQLJ translator (which is not known to be upgraded until version 11g if at all), but the inability to compile SQLJ files in a project containing other non-SQLJ java files with Java 5 features is hard.
    I could only workaround this by rebuilding SQLJ files one at a time!
    I also have another type of error, when rebuilding the same project in a higher-level pacakge (root or "Application Sources"):
    C:\TeleMessage\trunk\src\dbtools\CallbackNumberFiller.sqlj
        Error(24,8): Missing semicolon.
        Error(24,8): Unbalanced curly braces.Again, the specified file could not be the one to blame - the location of the error is in the middle of the public modified keyword in a method declaration; nothing is neither missing nor unbalanced.
    This appears to be different, as it pops in the log near the end of the build process, when the JSPs are being built, specfically during the time the message log fills with "writing <...>" lines (after "translating <...>" and "compiling <...>".
    I can consistently reproduce both cases - please advise how I can help you find out what causes this.
    Regards,
    Yaniv Kunda

    First of all, this bug not JDeveloper's problem, but the SQLJ team's.
    You can read more posts about this:
    Re: BUG: Cannot translate SQLJ files with Java5 generics code
    Re: How to use SQLJ with Java 1.4 and 1.5?
    Re: SQLJ discontinued??
    And if we're at it, this is strange - I can't seem to find the oracle doc you quoted...
    SQLJ 11g? The latest release is a part of JPublisher 10.2 available from
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html
    I also didn't find anything on google on 11g, nor about the part number you specified.
    Didn't find any Java 1.5 supporting SQLJ translators from other vendors as well.
    Do you have any link to this statement?
    But if we examine this bug again, the problem involves JDeveloper passing Java 5 featured JAVA files to the SQLJ translator.
    Isn't there a way to instruct the translator to use CLASS files compiled by a normal Java 5 compiler, instead of trying to compile the files itself?

    You need the HttpServletRequest object which is passed to JSPs and Servlets when they are invoked. How you are going to get it depends how the methods of your class are invoked. You probably need to pass it as a parameter from the JSP or Servlet that invokes the method.

  • Obtaining a *.java file from Oracle Apps 11i

    Hi,
    I am working on customizing an existing Oracle Apps page. For this purpose I would need some of the seeded java files (not class files) provided by Oracle Apps. Is there any place on the application server or some other place from where I can get these?
    Thanks,
    Sangita

    Avoid modifying the std code, extend std.
    If you still want to modify std, do it thru' JDeveloper, Open the Business component, double click on the component to open the Object Editor, navigate to Java, check generate Java File options and then click OK , JDeveloper will automatically create it for you. This will save you the step of adding the new file onto JDev. You can then simply decompile the standard class file, copy the code onto the JDev-created java files and start modifying.
