    Hi,
    We get "java.io.Exception: Not enough space" sometimes when trying to access

    Hello,
    I had the same problem and I eradicated it by changing used % of /tmp dir from 97% to 81% by removing unwanted files in /tmp folder.
    Try it out......
    df -k
    Now u will see that ur swap space is not sufficient.Check the corresponding mounting directory.Remove unwanted files from this dir. Restart ur server.Your problem should be solved.Note: Restarting server is not needed but for safe side restart ur server.
    In mine case, my dir was /tmp.I removed all unwanted files and then the problem was solved.
    Thanks

  • Java.io.IOException: Not enough space  when running external command

    Hi All,
              I am trying to call gzip utility from my servlet.
              The code line is as below :
              Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
              Process process = runtime.exec("gzip -f -9 " +fileName);
              I got the following error :
              java.io.IOException: Not enough space
              I even tried to use the actual path of gzip in the code :
              Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
              Process process = runtime.exec("/usr/bin/gzip -f -9 "
              +fileName);
              But still I got the same error.
              Can anyone tell me what I am missing out.....
              Thanks.

    We just ran into this problem yesterday. For us, it seemed to be a disk
              space problem. If you run "df -k" you'll see how full your file systems
              are. We cleared out some of the /var/log (capacity was 80%) files reducing
              capacity to 50% and the problem went away, for now.

    Hi
    I am getting this error

    I ahve a shell script which spawn three jvms
    Two jvms have XMX=12288M
    and the third XMX=10240M
    Basically each jvm has around 12 threads to read in xml files and process them.
    The HP machine has around 70 GB RAM.
    So, in total the java uses around 36 GB only but still it crashes.
    I then change the xml files so that the third jvm does not read any files
    but it is just spawned for the sake of it.
    Even then it crashes with the same error.
    Any idea what can be done to fix this.
    Thanks

    i have OSF DCE 1.1/HP DCE 1.8I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that.
    Other than the comments I posted above,
    perhaps ask on HP user groups to find tips
    on increasing the available memory?
    Oh, another thing: when you issue "java -Xmx", you are specifying
    the desired amount of memory. But in UNIX, there is a per-user upperlimit.
    Try typing "ulimit -a" on a command line, and it will
    tell you a hard limit that was configured by the machine's administrator.
    Eg. I have 4G on my machine, but by default, my user account
    is limited to 512M per process (and no matter what I type in Xmx,
    my java process cannot exceed the hard limit set by my
    administrator)
    % ulimit -a
    core file size (blocks, -c) 0
    data seg size (kbytes, -d) 524288
    file size (blocks, -f) unlimited
    max locked memory (kbytes, -l) unlimited
    max memory size (kbytes, -m) unlimited
    open files (-n) 11095
    pipe size (512 bytes, -p) 1
    stack size (kbytes, -s) 65536
    cpu time (seconds, -t) unlimited
    max user processes (-u) 5547
    virtual memory (kbytes, -v) unlimited

    This is the operating system running out of swap space. Recompiling JSP in 4.5.1 wastes a lot of memory.

    I have seen this with WL 4.5.1 and Solaris 2.6. Make sure you
    are using the -native flag to use native threads when starting

  • Java.io.IOException : Not enough space  when I use Runtime.getRuntime().exe

    Hi All,
    I am calling a shell script from the java using the Runtime class, the job of the shell script is to zip some content which is huge in size(max 500MB) while invoking the shell script i will give the arguments source & destination. I am using the waitFor() so that my java program will wait untill the shell script execution is over. Everything is working as expected but some times it's giving Exception java.io.IOException : Not enough space
    What could be the reason for getting this kind of error ? Your suggestions are more appreciated.

    I don't know what the problem is but make sure you follow the advice for stdout and stderr in http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-12-2000/jw-1229-traps.html because I bet the output from stdout or stderr will tell you what your problem is.

    Hello Sorry for the inconvenience, but I have a problem in Java I can not open files, audio chat, which type of jnlp after the last update of the Java 2012-004
    Please help me in solving this problem.

    Make sure Java is enable in your browser's security settings.
    Open Java Preferences (in Utilities folder)
    Make sure Web-start applications are enabled.
    Drag Java 32-bit to the top of the list.
    jnlp isn't an audio file format. It's just a java web-start program (Java Network Launching Protocol).

  • Oracle Java Environment Error - Not enough java classes defined ?

    I'm using 11gR1, and recently ran into a problem with Java Stored Procedures.
    It was working fine last week, and then this week at runtime I started getting an error:
    Error in Oracle java environment: ops1 - java.lang.Exception: Not enough java classes defined in the database.  Java Stored Procedures are not installed properly.
    I checked both the SYS schema and my user schema's Java classes. Neither had any invalid classes. For my user schema, the number of java classes seems right. For the SYS schema, I haven't figured out how to get past the 2000 rows fetch limit, so it will max out at 2000 - none of which are invalid.
    I cleared out my user schema and re-loaded its classes, and they all compiled/validated fine.
    A google search found no help...
    TIA
    Update (results of class count query):
    Connected to:
    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0 - Production
    With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
    SQL> select count (*) from dba_objects where object_type like '%JAVA%';

  • Java.io.IOException during large file processing on PI 7.1

    Hello Colleagues,
    for a large file scenario on our PI 7.1 System we have to verify with big file size we are able to process over PI.
    During handing over the large file (200 MB XML) form the Adapter Frame Work (File Adapter) to the Integration Engine we receive following error:
    Transmitting the message to endpoint http://<host>:<port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry using connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error transmitting the message over HTTP. Reason: java.io.IOException: Error writing to server.
    The message processing stopped and message still lies at Adapter Frame Work. Large files up to 100 MB we are able to process successfully.
    Please, could you tell me why this happened and how we are able to solve it?
    Because there is not a java.outofmemory exception however a IO exception i think it could be an memory issue?!
    Many thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jochen

    Hi Jochen,
    Indeed the error is IO Error and it is because the Adapter engine was not able to send the message to Integration server. But it happens due to memory/heap size issues.
    Look at these thread, they are having the same problem. Please try the remedy measures suggested by them
    Mail to Proxy scenario with attachment. AF channel error.
    Error with huge file
    problem with big file in file-to-proxy scenario
    Is there any additional information in Adapter messaging tool.?

  • What does java.io.IOException:  not found mean

    I am attempting to use sockets to run a shell script on a unix server.
    I am receiving java.io.IOException: runbatch T9Batch -b BTNORM -d A : not found
    however when I log onto to the unix box and type in runbatch T9Batch -b BTNORM -d A it works fine.
    so I'm not quite sure what this error is telling me.
    here is my server side code.
    package batchrunnerserverproject;
    import java.net.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class ExecuteRunbatchScript {
    public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException,
    InterruptedException {
    // declaration section:
    // declare a server socket and a client socket for the server
    // declare an input and an output stream
    ServerSocket batchServer = null;
    Socket clientSocket = null;
    String line;
    DataInputStream is;
    PrintStream os;
    Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
    String[] cmd = new String[1];
    // creating a new ServerSocket object to listen on a specific port
    try {
    batchServer = new ServerSocket(6666);
    } catch (IOException e) {
    System.err.println("Could not listen on port: 6666.");
    System.exit(-1);
    // Create a socket object from the ServerSocket to listen and accept
    // connections.
    // Open input and output streams
    try {
    clientSocket = batchServer.accept();
    is = new DataInputStream(clientSocket.getInputStream());
    os = new PrintStream(clientSocket.getOutputStream());
    // As long as we receive data, echo that data back to the client.
    while (true) {
    line = is.readLine();
    os.println(line);
    cmd[0] line;
    Process proc = rt.exec(cmd);
    int exitVal = proc.waitFor();
    System.out.println("Process exitValue: " + exitVal);
    } catch (IOException e) {
    System.out.println(e);
    }

    you're attempting to call "runbatch T9Batch -b BTNORM -d A", which has the executable "runbatch", and 5 arguments. Runtime.exec(String []) is expecting an array of the command and it's arguments. So I think you need to pass it an array like:
    cmd[0] = runbatch
    cmd[1] = T9Batch
    cmd[2] = -b
    cmd[3] = BTNORM
    cmd[4] = -d
    cmd[5] = A

  • How do I compress a string with  java.util.zip - not a file ?

    How do I compress a string with java.util.zip?
    Is possible to compress something else except a file?

    Of course, compression works on bytes, not some higher level constructs like Strings or files.
    You can use the ZipOutputStream or DeflaterOutputStream for compression.
    And the javadoc for Deflater even has a code example of compressing a String.

  • Not Enough File Space?

    Recently, while downloading a movie from iTunes, I received a warning from iTunes that I was running out of file space on my hard drive?  I thought, huh?  I have a 1T drive, and have approximately 758 GB of free space, so how can this be so?  I currently have a W7 machine, running Service Pack 1, 64-bit Operating System, 8 GB Ram, i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz twin processors.  It made me wonder if the "file" sizes themselves are limited to how much data they can store?  I realize I am not running the most current edition of Window's 7, but I had understood the new addition was to make W7 act more compatible with W8, which I'm not real crazy about.  I'd rather have a MAC.
    Until I can get by without a MAC, does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on this one?  Thanks!

    After logging in to the CMC, under the "Services" section, you should see a service for the "Ouput File Repository Server". When you click on it, it should show you the location of the filestore.
    Manually go that filestore location and check the disk size - you might be running low on desk space. As Srinivas pointed, you can either delete old instances you don't need anymore (manually or by setting global limits via the CMC) or you can obviously add more disk to this share.

    Hi Martin
    First try setting your Quicktime prefs, goto sys prefs/Quicktime/streaming and change streaming speed to what you get from your ISP dont go higher then 1.5.
    Then goto iChats prefs/video/bandwidth limit change to NONE.
    Restart iChat.

  • Weblogic.security.Encrypt  -and-  Not enough space

    This post has two questions.
    I have a simple application on wls9.2 that is a web front end to the weblogic.security.Encrypt command line utility. It seems to work fine, but after a little bit of use I am seeing the following:

    at weblogic.work.ExecuteThread.run(ExecuteThread.java:181)
    1) Here is the forking code:
    try {
    proc = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("java -Dweblogic.RootDirectory="+rootDir+" weblogic.security.Encrypt "+password);
    BufferedReader bf=new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(proc.getInputStream()));
    line=bf.readLine();
    bf.close();
    } catch (IOException e) {
    Is there a better way to do this, without forking? Seems odd to execute a java call, in java, just to get the encrypted string. I'd like to call weblogic.security.Encrypt inline, but have been unable to do so.
    2) Why would the Not enough space error creep up? Researching it, it seems like it is a swap problem, but that does not seem to be the case on our system. A top shows:
    Memory: 8192M phys mem, 2769M free mem, 5004M swap, 5004M free swap
    at the time of failure. Disk usage is looking great as well. The JVM heapsize is around 80% free. An lsof on the system shows about 150 open files on the managed server.
    Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    I use CCleaner from the AppStore to delete the 'useless' stuff. It's free and works great for me
