  • Exception:com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextException: NodeElem

    Hi Experts,
    I am consuming RFC to my webdynpro java application. The rfc takes some input values and returns some output vaules.
    In the application I had taken model to my component and mapped ( model --> component --> view ). i created Application and deployed it. it is giving the following Exception.
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.ContextException: NodeElement(.ComponentOne.Zbapi_Material_Create_Input): model node element cannot be created without a model instance

    Here actually it had to display the input screen (default view page )but while loading the starting page it gives the above exception.
    I searches lot of forums, but they are related to particular inputfields, but here it is not that scenario, i am not using any fields here just to display the view page. I don't know exactly what was the mistake, Help me please if you know.
    Regards,
    Pradeep Kumar

    Hi Pradeep,
    Did you checked that all the requierd code has been genarated or not in component controller?
    If you use apply template--> servicee controller some times service controller will not genarate the requierd code.
    check in the wdDoInit() method whether the following code has been genarated or not.
    if not wirte tht code.
        //$$begin Service Controller(17224717)
        WSTest model = new WSTest();
        wdContext.nodeRequest_EmployeeDeatilsByType().bind(new Request_EmployeeDeatilsByType(model));
        //$$end
    Revert back if you have any quaries.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bhargava.

    Hello,
    The problem is solved following these steps,
    "NWDS IDE is in SP04 whereas the WebDynpro Runtime is in SP01. So yo have to upgrade your WebDynpro in WebAS to SP04.
    All WebDynpro for Java patches are available on SAP Service Marketplace.Note 330793 explains how to download patches from SAP Service Marketplace. Note 1395865 explains how to find the Web Dynpro for Java related SCAs.
    Update your system via JSPM.
    Please refer the link to the official documentation for JSPM
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/1f/c45b4211aac353e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    From WebDynpro perspective, we recommend you to apply both WD-RUNTIME.SCA and FRAMEWORK.SCA. So if any one of the archive is not mentioned in the 'SP Patch Level' tab, it is recommended to apply the same which is available in the service market place."

  • Java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sap/tc/webdynpro/clientserver/uielib/st

    Hi everybody,
    I got trouble with my WebDynpro Application. When I deploy an application including a Table without being bound to any context node, the deployment works and the view is rendered properly. As soon as I bind this table to the context in order to fill the columns, I receive the Exception Message in the subject line. I tried running this application on several WEB AS Version from SP 14 to 17, however, I received the same Exception everytime. Is the framework of my NWDS broken or what is going on?
    I'm grateful for every hint that could solve the issue,

    Regards,

    Well, first of all, you should not use a Web Dynpro API in an EJB app. Web Dynpro is a UI technology, EJB implements the business logic.
    Furthermore, the PDFObject API has been deprecated. For more information and guidance, please refer to its [javadoc|http://help.sap.com/javadocs/nwce/current/wdr/com/sap/tc/webdynpro/pdfobject/api/package-summary.html].
    HTH!

  • Nullpointer on com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.controller.MessageManager

    Dear all,
    i have two web dynpro components, say A and B.
    A is using component B.
    When i push a close button in B, i do the following things:
    1. wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportWarning("Some warning!!!");
    2. wdThis.wdGetICLRequestDetailsController().leaveRequestDetails();
    This leaveRequestDetails() fires a plug (standard) to leave back to my component A and component A deletets the componentUsage when needed... ( if(hasActiveComponent()) )
    Component B has a view with an inputfield for an amount (bigdecimal). When this has valid input and i push the button and execute 1. and 2. everything works fine and i see the warning on the view of my comp. A.
    When i put invalid input in the amount field ( for example some characters) and i push the button, i see an error message on my view in comp. B. (automatic validation)
    When i correct the input and push the submit button again while the previous error message is still visible on the screen (so there's no event trigerred since the automatic validation), i get the following nullpointer exception on calling the deleteComponent method in component A:

    Can anyone tell me what's the cause for this nullpointer? is it a bug?

    The following is a working solution for me:

    mManager.reset();
    I have put these lines right before i call the deleteComponent() method in my web dynpro component A.

    Hi,
    Looks like your CLASSPATH is not set properly...Just try to Put the Jar inside "<DOMAIN_HOME>\lib" directory...in that case u need not to alter anything in the Classpath variable...it will be appended at the end of Classpath at the run time, Using Extended Directory ClassLoader.
    by default Classpath settings doesnt take effect if we specify it in the startScript of Servers but we start them using NodeManagers...So if you are using Nodemanagers to start your Servers... then you can follow the below link to set the Classpath & Memory Arguments http://weblogic-wonders.com/weblogic/2010/03/26/nodemanager-based-managedservers-setting-mem_args/

    hi,
    thanks for the replies.
    well i guess that(user authentication) is not the problem.
    Coz that happens even before i start the web service.
    i guess the problem is that the appl. is not finding the TaskMonitor class ( see the last 10 lines of the log).
    does anyone have a solution for that.
    thanks

  • How to use the com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDView?

    hi,
       In every view, the "com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDView view" is the parameter of the mothed wdDoModifyView(). I wonder, if we can make type com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDView parameter in other methods which are designed by ourself. Thank you!

    Hi Daniel,
    This method wdDoModifyView will be raised every time the view is changed or refreshed (i.e. button pressed, drop down selected). This should cover all cases where you need IWDView, personally I can't think of another case where you need this parameter.
    As far as I know it is not possible but even if it is it's not recommended.
    But perhaps I'm wrong, I'll be happy to hear more opinions from more experienced SDNers...

  • How to get a "com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDView" object

    hi,everybody,
         As we all know, there is a com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDView object in wdDoModifyView() parameters.We can use the IWDView object in the method or after the method.But in my project, I want to use the IWDView object before wdDoModifyView() method.I don't know how to create a IWDView object. Would you please help me.Thank you!

    Hi daniel,
                   wdModifyView is called by framework while rendering the view &  IWDView is used for it. Before wdDoModifyView its not possible according to me , may be u can check with armin.
    Hi Manoj,
                   First of all, even if u declare a variable , u can't initializae it before weDoModifyView. Apart from that its always suggested , not to access the IWDView outside the wdModifyView . i think that's why wdDoModifyView is static & called everytime ,u do anything with the view.
    regards
    Sumit
