Java Phone Help

Hello, ive been programming java for a couple of years now and im getting tired of writing programs for computers. I want to start writing programs for cell phones. Ive been looking around the web site and i could not figure out what i need (APIs and such). I downloaded the JSMEWireless toolkit, what else do i need.

Java phone screen size adjustment

I writing application and game for java phone, targeting the 128x128 pixel screen size phone, but my phone emulator screen is bigger than this, how can I set the size to 128x128 so I can get better design?

Please test to change screen resolution in Mac OS to see if it will help. Laptop cannot "move" screen like monitor (or TV) so resolution should be the only possible way.

Palying with J2ME: Which java phone to buy

Hi all,
OK, I'm not much of a J2ME guy. However, I tinkered with it about a year back and boy was it intersting! But soon I got bored of everything ending at the emulators as I didn't have a 'Java Phone' then.
Now that I've finally confirmed (long story that...) I need a new phone, I guess buying one where you can load your own midlets would be fun.
Now the question:
Which One to buy?
Feature/Economy wise the one I like best is Sony Ericcson's K700 (K700i In India where I live). Supports J2ME too. Any catch?
It took me some time to relaise where the best guys to answer this question were :-) So please try helping me out with this one / I put the purchase on hold.

My suggestion is that you go for Nokia phones coz they have their own API which helps you to play around developing interesting MIDlets.

I can't get some song on my iphone they work off of the computer but they wont show up on my phone they are in the "on my iphone" section but they gray and have a gray dotted circle next to them i have tried every thing I just want them on my phone HELP!

You have posted to the iTunes Match forum, which your question does not seem to be related to. Is your question concerning iTunes Match or syncing with iTunes via USB?

Java Access Helper Jar file problem

I just downloaded Java Access Helper zip file, and unzipped, and run the following command in UNIX
% java -jar jaccesshelper.jar -install
I get the following error message, and the installation stopped.
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NumberFormatException: Empty version string
at java.lang.Package.isCompatibleWith(Package.java:206)
at jaccesshelper.main.JAccessHelperApp.checkJavaVersion(JAccessHelperApp.java:1156)
at jaccesshelper.main.JAccessHelperApp.instanceMain(JAccessHelperApp.java:159)
at JAccessHelper.main(JAccessHelper.java:39)
If I try to run the jar file, I get the same error message.
Does anyone know how I can fix this?

I've JDK 1.4.2 and JAccessHelper should work with 1.3

Can there be some kind of path problems?No, I doubt it. It's just some internal app failure - looks like it's trying to determine the running Java version, and is not doing a good job at it. But the failure has nothing per se to Java, it's that specific app - what are we supposed to know about that app though?

If it still doesnt work then you may have water dammage or just a hardware issue. Device needs to be replaced.

I have scoured my doucmentation and the Apple web site for a phone number to call for help with my new nano, and found nothing. Chat is offered, but only for two other versions of iPod.
Is there any phone help available? Can someone give me a number?
In iTunes, my listing of podcasts is all grayed out. Plugging in the nano, it went thru the process of uploading to the nano, but nothing appears on the nano.
Note: I've gotten a pop-up notice saying "iTunes.exe -- corrupt file. The file or directory . . . iTunesDB is corrupt and unreadable. Please runthe chkdsk utility."
I have run chkdsk, and have also downloaded and installed the latest version of iTunes, and done the iPod updater, and still received the same warning message. Not sure if this is related to the podcasts issue above.

I had that problem with my nano after in inadvertantly removed it from the usb port without ejecting it from itunes (I have it set to use as a disk...) I tried manually removing the corrupted directory (which in my case turned out to be the photos directory) and that did not correct the problem... I was only able to correct the problem by doing an OS restore from the updater I had to select the option to have it restore it to factory defaults. That was not such a bad option in that I had my library saved in itunes an it re-sync'd up right back to the way I wanted it.

How I can enable Java ssv helper plugin silently for win7 users with IE9

here is what happens:
when I deploy java 7.21 on win7 users, after deployment when users try to Open their IE they get a login screen and apparently it is related to Java ssv helper plugin. it is trying to enable it and needs admin account/password. I am trying to deploy this to about 3000 computers and I dont want all of them start calling helpdesk for this.

It sounds like your iPhone is not showing in iTunes so it will not sync, but your iPad works fine. If you have already restarted your phone, (Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430), I recommend the troubleshooting from the following article named:

Check USB connections. iOS devices require USB 2.0 to function properly. If you're not sure your Mac has USB 2.0 ports, refer to the computer's specifications.
Disconnect other USB devices and connect your device directly to a USB port on your Mac.
