i begin develop a web java portal but i have two exceptions
1-Could not initialize class com.sap.conn.jco.rt.MiddlewareJavaRfc Exception
2-Could not initialize class com.sap.conn.jco.rt.JCoRuntimeFactory
please help me urgently

...sounds like the native libaries (e.g. librfc32.dll, sapjcorfc.dll for windows) are not in place or does not fit to the jar's you are currently using.
please refer to the documentation.

Caching Issue with Java Portal....Need Help ASAP!

We are deploying a JAVA & .NET enviornment. We have a Java Portal Server that connects to the .NET enviornment. We seem to have a problem with the caching on the JAVA portal...any help you could provide would be much needed!!

We are running Apache 2.0.48 with TomCat 4.1.18LE using JK2 as a conduit between them. We are not using mod_cache at all. we are using mod_proxy in the Apache Server. We have disabled caching in Tomcat:<Host name=..................... <Context path=............................ <Logger className=........................... <Manager className=.............................. <Resources cached="false" caseSensitive="false" /> This didn't seem to help the problem. Now am wondering if the browser is caching even though it's set to get a new page each time. Issue when execute query in JAVA portal

Hi all,
I aways used the Query Designer 3.x and now im using the Query Design and i know that run with JAVA portal. So I have new issues and it not expected.
When I run RSRT and select a query I have no problems running by ABAP but when I select JAVA Web i had issue.
I know that JAVA give the addres:
http://MACHINE:PORT/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.....
but in my case only give me:
/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.....
Anyone have some idea?

Let me understand the issue.
When you click on Java Web (RSRT), the browser opens the following URL "/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom....." ?
Download the note 937697 and follow the instructions. Maybe the BI Master data is not configured on your portal.
This note will detects the inconsiste and suggest a solution.
Also, there is a table which you have to maintain the Portal server name.
TABLE: RSPOR_T_PORTAL
Check if exist a default portal on this table.

BI Role upload from BI-JAVA/Portal creates wrong url in Iview property

Hi Everyobody
here is a tricky one. Our BI DEV is a Systemcopy from the PRD.
When we try to upload Roles from the BI-JAVA/Portal it generates the Iviews Worksets correctly.
The only Problem is that the Iviews property "URL Template" is the one from the Production.
On our DEV System:
I checked the bsp from icf with the correct url
I checked the HTTP URLLOC entry
I checked the RSPOR_T_SETUP
I even checkd the Functionmodule RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET
I checked the SAP_BW alias /WAS property
All have the correct URL.
Does anyone know where else the wrong url could be located?

Hi, first of all, I am not very sure it is the portal problem or not, but the problem happen after we made changes to LDAPConstant.java located in common-lib/src/com/xxxx/util/ldap/LDAPConstants.java, changing some rules, after that we run compile.sh to create a jar files to be located in production server. We have a link name email in portal, we cant login since ever. Please help, I am a newbie.

SRM 7.0: Authorisation object? Aliases for services in java portal?

Here's how we did in old SRM 5.0 system (the old and working scenaio):
In SRM 5.0 we employed S_ICF object to determine, whether a particular user who has just logged in to a system via web using a particular alias - is authorised to use this service.
We want external and internal users to use different ways to get into system. We have two aliases:
for internal users: http://srm5.domain.com/srmint
for external users: http://srm5.domain.com/srmext
We make aliases using transaction SICF:
/srmext
/srmint
to service /default_host/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbpstart
For alias /srmext we set field SAP Authoriz. = EXT.
For alias /srmint we set field SAP Authoriz. = INT.
We make 2 roles, both containing just a S_ICF auth object with differend values of field ICF_VALUE, an appropriate role to a user. If a particular user logs in to the system using an alias matching to the authorization value set in his role, he gets in, otherwise he gets an error upon logon. So that his logon is only successful if he used the right alias in URL (provided correct login name and password of course).
Question. How do we apply similar scenario in new SRM7?
Is there an authorisation object for java portal in SRM 7.0 - similar to S_ICF object for ABAP portal in SRM 5.0?
Is it possible and how to make an aliases to java portal, or otherwise automatically detrermine at runtime upon logon, which way (which URL or using some parameter in address line) the user has logged in?

props.put("smtp.gmail.com",host);I doubt javamail recognizes the 'smtp.gmail.com' property. I think it expects 'mail.host'. Of course since it cannot find a specified howt it assumes by default localhost

Hi all,
I was looking for this java programming problem which had to do with a large building and there was some gallons of water involved in it too somehow and we had to figure out the height of the buiding using java. This problem is also in one of the java books and I really need to find out all details about this problem and the solution. NEED HELP!!

Yes, it will. The water will drain from the bottom of
the tank until the pressure from the water inside the
tank equals the pressure from the pipe. In other
words, without a pump, the water will drain out until
there is the same amount of water in the tank as in
the pipe The water pressure depends on the depth of the water, not the volume. So once the depth of the water inside the pipe reaches the same depth as the water inside the tank it will stop flowing. This will never be above the height of the tank.
I found this applet which demonstrates our problem. If you run it you can drag the guy up to the top, when water in his hose reaches the level of the water in the tank it will stop flowing out.

Java Uninstall Problem

This all came about because of a failed uninstall, using Your Uninstaller.
The {Java runtime which is all I want) is not listed now & I tried all the other fix bad uninstall type features, all to no avail.} )
When I DL & run the latest package (jxpiinstall-6u11-fcs-bin-b90-windows-i586-25_nov_2008.exe}
& run it I get:
1st message:
     "This software has already been installed on your computer.
     Would you like to install it?"
If I say no, it exits.
If I say yes, I get this second message:
     :This action is only valid for products that are currently installed."
So Now I have no Java & have no idea what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am using Sun Studio Creator to develop a portal application. Obviously, I need a portal container to deploy my portlets to.
Who would host a Java Portal Server System? Do you have a solution for that?

I don't think there is a public API for this.
Instead of hard-coding the proxy, make it a parameter of your servlet. The proxy is not something that will change very often (if at all) so it is a fairly safe bet.
Using a servlet parameter also means that the proxy can be easiy changed if the installation is moved or the network is reconfigured
