Java Registry Sweeper?

Hello, we had a problem with one of the MSI packages for Java that we pushed out to all out computers the other day. Is there any kind of official or recommended tool that will fully clear out all aspects of a java install from the registry/computer? Right now even though the files don't appear to be there, it still shows an entry in add/remove programs (that cant be removed) and the server MSI install wont try to push it out to it again since it appears as if it is already installed.
Thanks

I get the same error when I either:
- try to register the sample JAX-RPC-coffee-supplier from the coffee example in the tutorial
- try to run the Registry Browser (comes with JWSDP 1.1) and try to search the localhost:8080/RegistryServer
I have had zero luck with jwsdp. I did find something that indicated that it may be connected to a bug with non-US locales, but I've not had any success trying top change that.
Does this stuff ever actually work? Why is it that with the java world nothing seems to work out of the box...

    Hello
It means what it sais, your J2EE_ADMIN user doesn't have enough authorization.
Chech if the appropriate authorization is assigned in your abap stack which belongs to the java stack you logon to:
Role SAP_J2EE_ADMIN should be assigned to user J2EE_ADMIN.
    Kind regards

  • Java "Application not found"

    Hi,
I wonder of you can help me please, I'm new here and looking for an answer to a problem with my Java files.
Perhaps I should start a new thread for the new question? Please advise me...
    'Problem' is:
When I try to open the 'Java' icon on the 'controll panel' page, it says 'Application not found' !? :(
I have tried re-installing Java but it still says 'Application not found'.
(There is a plain box on the control panel, where the Java sign should be, but nothing else.)
Also, when I try to use the BT speed tester, it tells me that 'Java is not installed/enabled on your P.C.'
I am pretty sure I have ticked the right boxes on 'internet options', (under 'Tools',) but this doesn't work and even when I restart it says: 'restart required'.

    Thank you for your answer,
I have, as you suggest, already tried removing all Java programmes and then uploading the latest version, that's probably why I'm in such a mess now.
After I thought I had removed all version that were in my programme files, I attempted to upload the latest version, switching off the fire-wall first.
But when I checked if it was working OK, it wasn't and I have been going round in a circle for hours re-loading etc.
Plus I got the same message every time from the BT speedtester, which said 'you do not have java applets or they are not enabled' or something similar, but I did tick the 'enable' box in 'Internet Options' and ticked ''enable scripting' in the Internet Options / Security tag. But, try as I might, could not get the latest JRE files to load up and work right.
Java script does seem to be working, although the Registry file is missing, but I had to download an earlier version to get it to work, (J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 update 7. I think maybe one of the 'problems' is not being able to remove one Java programme which was on the computer since June, (Java(TM) 6 update 21.)
I have tried to remove it several times but can't. ( I do have the 'administrator' rights.)
I tried removing Java(TM) 6 update 21 again but i will not uninstall, although J2SE RE 5 update 7 has been removed now, I still can't get Java working and it's NOT showing in my programmes list at all, although Java(TM) 6 update 21 is showing in Control Panel programmes list!
I usually get help from one of my Son's who are both in I.T. but both really busy. I have spent nearly two days now, trying to get Java working properly without much success.
I am in a 'pickle', I don't know how to reinstate the Java Registry file for starters :( HELP!

  • Java Install - Uninstall - Error 1723 Problems

So, Java is nice ... most of the time, but lately, not so much. I wrote [this page|http://panocea.us/JavaBlues/] to document the problem... and maybe, eventually, its solution.
    OS: Windows 7 Pro 64-bit; Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600
Problem presents itself about a month ago with numerous jucheck messages popping up and then in being unable to install the (then) most recent version of the Java Runtime Environment (JRE) v6 Update 23 and then additionally, being unable to uninstall an earlier version... the name of which seems most curiously misreported under Control Panel -> Programs and Features, but its installation of 9.5.2010 remains the same - study screen shots below and you'll note this peculiarity. This earlier version is stubborn and refuses to be uninstalled - even after booting in Windows Safe Mode.
More details and screen shots here:
    http://panocea.us/JavaBlues/
Any encouragement shared or light shed will be very much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Kelly

  • New hard drive - Ccleaner still preferred registry cleaner?

    Folks,
Turning chicken **** here into chicken salad.  I ordered two WD Caviar Black drives to set up in a simple two-disk RAID 0 array and found out after purchase these drives are firmware disabled by WD for RAIDing by some gremlin called WDTLER. We have had a little back-n-forth this week over whether WDTLER is trouble in RAID 0. Scott Chichelli thinks otherwise. Those who are interested can view more in this thread:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/676135?tstart=0
    Today's question -
I had been using a "green" drive as my OS/programs disk in my CS5 computer. Being stuck with two new drives now, I've decided to migrate the OS and programs to one of the Caviar Black drives and use the green disk as storage.
I have read through Harm's 2009 thread on optimizing 64 bit Vista and have applied as many changes as I could to the current Win 7 OS. I have gotten down to where he recommends Ccleaner as a registry wiper for autorun programs and the like. I'd very much like to get such a program installed and executed before I make my backup image for this computer.
So - is this freeware program still in anyone's good graces? Or has the consensus formed around a new program for such?
Also, one general question about using this type of program. Is it necessary to load a registry cleaner before loading the other programs, so that the sweeper program knew what was in the registry prior to any new installs? I have loaded my OS, optimized my C drive and OS per Harm's article, and now wonder if I should wait before loading anything else or making a backup image until after I run a registry sweeper.
I'm suspecting that these registry cleaner programs need to know what the OS looked like upon a fresh install, so that it can compare any changes made in the registry. Or should I go ahead and load up CS5 and my other programs first?

I still use Ccleaner regularly. It is very good, is regularly updated and is free. As you may know from Adobe Forums: My favorite tools I also use Perfect Disk, which also includes a registry cleaner and often these programs find different issues, like one is looking under the kitchen sink and the other under the sideboard. Both are good, but when installing and as you expressed you want to have a backup of your clean install, well as clean is possible with Windows by itself, you can use Regedit to create a backup of your current registry file, or you can use this tool, which is the best registry cleaner I know, but it is not free: http://www.1clickpcfix.com/
I think it makes no difference for 1ClickPCFix whether you run it before installation or after, because it looks at the consistency of all the entires in your registry and it does a very thorough job. It takes some time, but it easily finds more inconsistencies than CCleaner or Perfect Disk. I highly recomment it.

  • Need help deleting Java 6 Update 29

Now before I am told to use search feature or the usual fixes please do not unless there was an exact same issue found and solved and I couldn't find. but please read first. So I have used JavaRa, Revo Uninstaller, Deleted Java Registry from tutorial on the Java site and it i still in the add/remove programs list with no option to uninstall. When I do a Java test on the Java site, it says I do not have Java. However, when I try to install the new version of Java (31) it gives me the same error; stating it cannot find jre1.6.0_18-c-l.msi I also downloaded Update 29 on my other computer and searched for the file in the location, the installer was looking in. It was not there and yet it still uninstalled properly. I have installed Update 18 looking for that file as well. In both updates 18 and 29 while I installed I looked in %temp% and copied the installer changed the name to the file needed, and placed in the correct file path, that didn't work either. I have completely ran out of ideas of how to fix this issue. Is there anything I can do without taking a bat to my pc or wiping it?
    Thanks.

I am having the same problem with update 29 and cannot get through the 800 number. This version has disabled my access to the US patent office system. They have posted a warning. I removed all older versions and tried to install the last version for their system which is update 26. I tried installing 26 but I get the error message that a later version is installed and will not continue. How can I remove the flag so that I can downgrade. You should always offer the ability to downgrade if it doesn't work.

  • Running Java app when java not installed

I need to run java apps on a server I don't control and the admin will not install java. :(
Tried a few things to run java without installation, but get error that a java registry item can not be found. "Error opening registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment'" Might be that without control of the registry, there's no way to run the java engine, but curious if there's a way to get it to run... I'm gonna play around with it, but figured if someone out there knows it's not possible, they could save me time by letting me know.
    Thanks!

Depends on what you want to run. To run an applet on the computer requires that the JRE be installed, as the applet needs the Java Plug-in and Registry keys that the JRE install includes. To run a Java program from the command line needs a copy of the JRE, but it does not need to be "installed" by the Java installer. Then the command "java ... classname" needs to include the full path to the java executable that the JRE contains.
There might be websites that allow you to run certain kinds of Java programs on the website. I don't know if they still wxist. I also doubt that they'll run applets.

  • ITunes 10.0.0.68 Crash when watching purchased iStore content (TV) Vista 64

I recently upgraded to iTunes 10. I'm running on a Vista 64 bit machine. I have a number of dvd/blue ray ecopies in my library, along with content from CDs I've purchased, and an iPhone 3GS. This weekend I purchased my first TV season from the iStore (this was after iTunes upgrade to 10.x was applied). I purchased the HD version of the TV shows. So, yes, 2 versions were downloaded. As I understand it, the HD version plays on my computer and the lower res version is used for the iPhone (or other portable devices).
While watching the TV content after it downloaded, I experienced a series of iTunes crashes. When this occurred, the OS reported a DEP error. Of course, you can't set the DEP to not run with iTunes.exe - the system reports that DEP must run with iTunes. It's not clear to me if this is by design on Apple's side or not. So, disabling DEP when running iTunes is not an option for a Vista user.
I've spent the last several hours reading a number of forum posts, including several from this site. I did uninstall everything, per an article on the Apple support site and referenced a couple of times by B Noir as well. It seemed reasonable and when I looked at the Programs installed, I noticed that the installation date for the Bonjour service and Apple Software Update was different than the iTunes. This may not have mattered, but I've seen stranger stuff. I tried a repair of QuickTime before taking this great leap, but this had no effect. I did follow the complete steps as listed, including checking for stray residue after the uninstall ran. I did run a registry sweep after the uninstall and rebooted the system.
iTunes continues to crash when viewing purchased TV show content after all of these steps. As I have nothing to compare it with as far as the performance of previous versions of iTunes with purchased TV show content, I can't say with authority it is strictly an iTunes 10.x event. However, having watched more than 30 minutes of 3 different movies I have in my library (from the ecopy of dvd/blue ray), and playing several cd tracks, I believe I can state that this iTune crash only occurs with purchased content - TV shows in my case.
My iPhone 3GS syncs fine. In fact, I was able to place one of the TV shows on the phone and it plays just fine on the phone. Of course, that is the low-res version.

There are a series of Bonjour Service errors in the Application log as well. All of these occur after the iTunes Application Error and Windows Error Reporting are logged. At this point, I assume they are related to the iTunes crash -
    EventData
440: ERROR: read_msg errno 10054 (An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.)
It seems like this problem is occurring for many Vista and Windows 7 64 bit users (with regard to iTunes crashing when trying to play purchased content) and I'm hoping that power users in this forum can take this more detailed report of the problem and figure it out - or convince the Apple team to address it. I'd be glad to try any suggestions or provide logs if desired (let me know where to look for the logs if applicable).

Odd ... that BEX error citing the QuickTimePlayer.dll (like the DEP errors and the unknown module for the iTunes errors) also suggests old, misplaced QuickTime componentry. But the lack of any QuickTime Player launch errors, or at least relentless "software out of date" messages, speaks against that possibility.
... I think we'd better check for old, misplaced QuickTime componentry anyway, just in case. (The symptom-set for that sort of trouble is in a constant state of flux anyway, so the lack of launch errors probably can't be taken as conclusively speaking against it.)
First we'll need to adjust some view settings on the PC.
    1. From the Start menu, click Open.
    2. In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
    3. Click the View tab.
    4. In the "Advanced settings" pane under "Hidden files and folders" make sure that the "Show hidden files and folders" option is selected, and the "Hide extensions for known file types" option is unchecked.
    5. Click OK.
Now we'll go looking for old QuickTime stuff in the most likely locations for it to show up.
In Computer, open your C drive (or whichever drive your operating system is installed on).
    Open the "Windows" folder.
*If you have a 32-bit version of Windows,* open the "System32" folder.
*If you have a 64-bit version of Windows,* open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files or folders with QuickTime in the file or folder name can you see in there? (In a standard installation of QuickTime, you should see precisely two files ... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.

You must include "classes12.zip" instead of "classes111.zip".
Since "classes111.zip" is required only for Java 1
and "classes12.zip" is required for Java 2 which means from J2SE 1.2 on forward.
In adition you might need to inlcude "nls_charset12.zip" as well. Try it first without and if it is not working include it as well.
The required files can you get from the OTN.
    This should help

  • Why do some YouTube videos no longer play in stereo?

I have uploaded over 200 music videos on YouTube (user name "texpaco"), all in HD format. Until recently ALL played in stereo. However, YouTube recently made changes that affect over half of them. They now load with a defaulted 240p playback option which is mono. Switching playback option to 360p on EACH video does allow for playback in stereo, but it has to be done each time the video is accessed. Others videos that load with the same 240p option still play in stereo, and I can discern no rhyme nor reason as to which or why some videos revert to the old mono format.
I have tried browsing YouTube using both IE8 and the latest Google Chrome browsers and with both of them all videos still play in HD (stereo) as before.
Firefox has been my default browser for almost two years and I'm very reluctant to change, but others who use Firefox are undoubtedly experiencing the same problem.
I am using the latest versions of Firefox (3.6.10) and Adobe Flash Player (Version 10,1,85,3), and all other add-on's and plug-in's show current versions with no up-dates available.
I’ve queried YouTube support several times and the best (and only) response has been on the order of “Gee, I dunno!”
Does anyone know what’s going on and what a possible solution might be?
    Thanks,
    Paige (aka texpaco)

Some of my videos default to 360p, others to 240p. Even some of those that default to 240p STILL play in stereo...no rhyme, reason, nor pattern that I've been able to discern. I repeat that this is a fairly recent problem, starting only a few weeks ago, and seems to be limited to FireFox. Until then, ALL my videos played in HD (stereo).
I've tried several times deleting cookies and going back to YouTube as an unregistered user with the same results. I've cleaned the cache (both CCleaner and CleanUp!), done registry sweeps, cleared history, etc....still same results.
I've had a friend go into YouTube also using all three browsers. Her experience was the same...ALL my videos play in stereo with both IE8 and the latest Google Chrome, almost 2/3 of them now in MONO when using Firefox unless playback option is switched to 360p.
Some other examples of my videos are:

    Thanks,

I copied that oracle directory structure from another instance and the patch which was not working
worked fine.I think that generation of jar files was also an issue of not having this oracle dir structure
as the patch was failing at that stepThis is expected, since Registry.dat should exist under $806_ORACLE_HOME/form60/java/registry/ and none of the files/directories should be missing under $806_ORACLE_HOME/form60/java
But still i have to copy the Directories you menionted?Yes, you should copy all those files in order to have an identical copy of your source instance. Can you list the directories which you have copied when you cloned the instance?

  • Found a NEW solution for "isn't connected&qu

    Hi guys, first time poster.
So I was having troubles with my ZenV not connecting to the media organizer. Was getting the ever-so-popular "ZenV not connected." So I come here, look through the hundreds of posts trying to find out why it isn't connecting or being recognized by the ZenV media explorer. Spent at least 8 hours rolling back Windows media player, tweaking registries, uninstalling and reinstalling, all to no avail.
So, right before I throw my ZenV through the wall, I tell my girlfriend (who happened to give me the ZenV for Christmas). She tells me to leave the ZenV home today instead of bringing it to work, so she can try to figure out what's wrong.
I come home today, and she has this triumphant smirk on her face as if she has found the cure for cancer. She figured out a VERY simple and easy way to fix the problem!
All she did was do a system restore. That's it! She restored back to December st, just to make sure that I wouldn't have any problems, since it worked fine Christmas day. All I did was reinstall ZenV media explorer and VOILA, I added like 40 more songs to my ever growing list of musical joy!
So basically, all you do is:
Go to your START button on the windows toolbar, and go to RUN.
Type in "msconfig" and there will be an option to do the system restore. It also gives you the option to restore back to any date you want.
And that's it! I'm pretty sure some people will not want to do a system restore, but we had nothing to lose since our computer is mainly for entertainment purposes. However, for most people, I really think this might work for you as well.
I really think what messed up my ZenV in the first place was doing a registry sweep. After my girlfreind did a registry sweep, I was not able to connect to the ZenV Media Explorer. This might be a heads up for you guys in the future.
    Anyways, I hope this helps!!!

  • How to run the samplecode JMF20_guide.pdf provide?

The pdf document has a samplecode in page 100,but how to run the code?My code like this:

    ca.captureDevice();
//capture and play audio from a microphone
    public void captureDevice()

    try
    Player p=Manager.createPlayer(di.getLocator());
    catch(IOException e)
    catch(NoPlayerException e)
but sames not of my desired result, why?
I had a microphone on my computer,It sames the code could capture the device.
Another question, how could I capture the video device?
    Vector deviceList=CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList(new VideoFormat("JPEG"));
    Is this?

    1. The code you showed here isn't the complete one so you can see the whole picture. This code can be used in audio transmission ( example code can be found in AVTransmit2.java in the JMF/Solutions). For your current piece of code, if you want to see if you already got the capture device ready, Simply print out the deviceList to console.
    2. If it still does not work, open Java registry app, and click capture device tab, then click the button: "detect capture device", which goes through a search/registration process.
    3. If you tried to got all Audio/Video capture devices, simply use
    deviceList = CaptureDeviceManager.getDeviceList(null);

The error received is "cannot communicate with the SCORM API adapter (requires java plugin). please try again, if the problem persists, try to force reload the adapter by pressing CTRL + F5 reload combination of your browser. You can check the java plugin is installed in the plugin-check of the application."
Logging does not work on the site with the issue and the plugin checker is saying that no plugins are installed
I have found that sometimes removing java and all files including reg keys related to java and the re-installing it will resolve the issue but not always
The java version we use is 6.14, but i have had success mainly with 6.15. The wiping of java fix makes me think that this is not related to any settings in IE 8 or and out of date SCORM adapter on the training site and to do with the JAVA it's self.
    Could anyone assist with this?

Thanks for getting back Scott, i don't think java is uninstalled as uninstalling is part of the troubleshooting i follow to resolve the issue.
I am however interested in the fact that the plugin may be disabled because part of my troubleshooting involves deleting the java registry for internet explorer which would clear any preference for the plug in to be disabled, but getting it to work again requires a complete wipe of java including all files left in app data after uninstall.
Then re-installing sometimes seems to work which may also indicate another issue affecting some of our machines.
I will have a look down the plug-in route and if there are any advances i will post them here as this issue can be a pain to actually pinpoint to one cause.

  • NoCalssDefFoundError on iasdeploy

I am getting a NoClassDefFoundError during the deployment process. The classes are included in the classpath and come from an external jar file. Some of the classes are the ones used in the signature of EJB remote interfaces. This is a key statement!
I managed to resolve the problem and now believe this is a bug.
Here is what I had to do. I have unpackaged the jar file and added the classfiles to all ejb modules. As soon as I did that iasdeploy worked fine. I know that there is no problem if the classes from the external library are NOT used in anything that gets verified during deployment process. That is why the earlier statement about remote interface signature ia important. This exercise makes me believe that iasdeploy has a bug where the classpath used during verification is not the classpath specified in JAVA registry setting and neither the one in iasdeploy script (I have tried that too).
This is only a problem on Windows 2000. Deployment on unix works fine. I have tried this for iAS6.0 SP3 and SP4.
If anyone has more information about this, please let me know.
    Thanks,
    vadim

I believe that is the case on Win2k. You have to be responsible for the runtime class availability. You can solve that by deploying the external jar file in the same war package. And interesting enough, the jar gets extracted during the deployment process and are avaible as class files under the app's WEB-INF/lib/ dir. at runtime.
