Java seem it not portalble !!!

Could you please run and compare demo between OS windows and linux.
Demo code:
import java.awt.event.*;
import javax.swing.*;
public class TestTheDialog1 extends JFrame implements ActionListener {
     JButton myButton = null;
     public TestTheDialog1() {
          super("TestTheDialog Tester");
          setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
          myButton = new JButton("Test the dialog!");
          myButton.addActionListener(this);
          setLocationRelativeTo(null);
          getContentPane().add(myButton);
          setSize(300,200);
          setVisible(true);
     public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
          if(myButton == e.getSource()) {
               System.err.println("Opening dialog.");
               int answer = JOptionPane.showConfirmDialog(this,"Do you like Java?","Please answer",JOptionPane.YES_NO_OPTION);
               if (answer==JOptionPane.YES_OPTION) {
               System.err.println("User chose yes.");
               System.err.println("The answer stored in CustomDialog is 'true' (i.e. user clicked yes button.)");
          else {
               System.err.println("User chose no.");
               System.err.println("The answer stored in CustomDialog is 'false' (i.e. user clicked no button.)");
               System.err.println("After opening dialog.");
     public static void main(String argv[]) {
          new TestTheDialog1();
On windows, when JOtionPane is showing, frame TestTheDialog CAN NOT perform action as minimize, maximize, exit or move. this is TRUE
but on OS linux (suse) I CAN perform these action, this is FALSE
Please help me make consistant
thanks very much.

Thanks everybody for more discuss,
I expect when run demo on linux the result like OS
windowsYou need to adjust your expectations, then. "Portable" means the code will run on any platform for which there is a JVM. It doesn't mean "will make every platform work the same way"
I tried change code above but i can not create effect
, Could you please customize above code, please help
me, thanks you very muchIt's not actually a good idea to. Users have certain expectations of how an application will behave on the OS they use. If you start mucking about with that and making applications behave unnaturally, the user may assume there's something wrong, and they may find your application odd to use. Not desirable

  • Java script does not seem to be working with Firefox 3.6

    I am using Firefox 3.6, and recently installed MAC OS 10.6.5. I had a problem today working on a website and java script would not work with this browser. I was able to work on Safari though...

    To fix this you will need to delete your firefox profile directory to get the new firefox 3.6.13 to work with the java plugin, its a good idea to run an update for java as well before hand. Or you can totally get rid of firefox and the profile directory and load an older version, just turn off automatic firefox updates.

  • Java Applets do not run when UAC is enabled on Windows 7

    HI,
    I'm deploying Java 6.0_26-b03+ on Windows 7 and experiencing following problem:
    Java applets do not run as standard domain users in Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 when UAC is enabled (i.E. http://www.java.com/de/download/installed.jsp). When logged on as Administrator or start IE9 as Administrator java applets do run.
    If I diable UAC an log on as normal user then applets do run. Applets then still run if UAC is re-enabled again. It seems that UAC needs to be disabled for the Java Plug-In to register something in user context (assumption). If this registration happended Java applets do run also for standard Windows 7 users if UAC is enabled.
    Since we're planning a corporate Windows 7 rollout (>800PCs) we cannot do this manually on every computer. Ther must be any solution for this problem.
    Does anybody have the same problem and has already found a solution?
    This is the content of the error log file generated when a standard domain user tries to run http://www.java.com/de/download/installed.jsp

    Since we're planning a corporate Windows 7 rollout (>800PCs) we cannot do this manually on every computer. Ther must be any solution for this problem.If you're doing a corporate rollout of that size then surely you're just making an image of the desired configuration and just duplicating it onto the 800 PCs? In which case you would just configure IE appropriately as part of the image.
    Or alternatively you are manually configuring each of the 800 PCs, in which case this would be just one more thing in the checklist.

  • "Java Virtual Machine not loaded"

    I get this message every time I boot up. It just started recently. Anyone know how to fix that? Everything seems to run okay, but that annoying box pops up every time.
    "Java Virtual Machine not loaded"
    Thanks in advance.

    To state the obvious:
    1 - Install JAVA
    2 - Java is installed: change your PATH vaialbe to point to the folder with JAVA.EXE in it.
    3 - check to be sure your CLASSPATH variable is correct -- this will not give you the error you describe, but it will make other things very anoying.
    4 - If everything in 1-3 look good, then uninstall, delete any remaining JAVA folders and reboot (cold boot), and then re-install JAVA and pay attention to any errors that may be generated (It sounds like something messed up your install before).

  • Java GUI apps not working

    All my Java apps are not rendering their GUI properly anymore. It seems to affect those that are using a Carbon-ized UI. I'm guessing this means all Swing apps?
    Regardless I'm trying to figure out a way to fix this without re-installing the OS...
    Any tips?
    thanks in advance.

    Have you tried deleting the Java caches? Close all your Java applications first. You'll find some in <user>:Library:Caches:Java Applets. While you're there you can also clean up anything else in the Caches folder that might be related - it's not a problem to remove anything in here, they'll just get recreated and may cause the related application to start up a bit slower next time.
    There should also be one or more 'Plugin Settings' files in the Applications:Utilities:Java (note: I'm on 10.3.9 and this may be different for you - I have two: one for 1.3.1 and one for 1.4.2). Launch them and use whatever features they have for cleaning up unwanted caches/mess, but I think they just remove the cache files I mentioned in the first paragraph.

  • Javah error java.lang.Object not found

    Hi guys-
    I'm trying to run a javah command to generate a .h file... I'm using windows2000 & jdk1.1.8... when I run the command from DOS prompt I keep getting the same eror as java.lang.Object not found: aborting.. I've checked all the classpath and it seems ok ... I have CLASSPATH=..;c:\jdk1.1.8\lib\classes.zip
    Can anybody help me with this???
    Thanx

    Maybe try ; right click my computer ,click the advanced tab and select enviroment variables,click on classpath and then edit,check if it's correct.I had the sam problem and that seemed to fix it. :)

  • Central Instance Java Server0/Server1 not starting

    We recently installed a new dialog instance for our CUA system (abap and java stacks). Now, whenever the Java stack fully initializes itself on the Dialong Instance first, the Server0 and Server1 on the Central Instance Java stack will not complete their startups. Both Server0 and Server1 get stuck on the "Starting Apps" status. Anybody see this before? Any suggestions on how to fix/reconfigure the java so that this does not happen?
    Currently, our work around is to always let the Central Instance finish its startup and then start the Dialong Instance. However, if the CI Java crashes and restarts on its own, it will not be able to complete its startup until we shut down the DI instance.
    Thanks.

    andreas,
    Here is a partial std_server0.out file. It seems that the dumping/memory/locking problem starts immediately after the Framework has started:
    ServiceManager started for 354203 ms.
    Framework started for 422687 ms.

  • BIP Desktop installation "java runtime environment not installed"

    I keep getting the "java runtime environment not installed" error when I try to install BIP desktop.
    I have JRE both as part of the BIP Enterprise Edition install and also because I installed (and reinstalled) SUN Java SDK.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I reinstalled JDK with the JRE. That seemed to do the trick.

  • Native app - Invalid number of parameters, java.exe is not recognized as an internal or external...

    Compilation complete.
    Patching package name...

    Patching app name...
    Updating the Android app project...
    [Path to Android project]>android update project --name "EmployeeCare2" --target 1 --path .
    Invalid number of parameters
    '"C:\Windows\system32\java.exe "' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
    operable program or batch file.

    Fixed it. I mean I got it to generate the app, I wouldn't call it fixed. This is one of those cases where I'm convinced that I am the only person who is using a particular feature because it doesn't seem like this would have ever worked for anyone.
    Open C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe RoboHelp 11\RoboHTML\MultiscreenExt\NativeApps\Android\UpdateApp.bat.
    Turn echo back on.
    Run the script to generate a native app.
    Check the output window when it fails. This line >SET PATH="C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_51\"bin; should be >SET PATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_51\bin; no quotes around the path before bin.
    Back in UpdateApp.bat: I hardcoded SET PATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_51\bin;%3;%PATH%.
    When I run the script again, I get a different error. I cleared the output window, so I don't remember what it was.
    Delete everything in the output folder, run the script again.
    I haven't tested the app, but it says and looks like it was generated.

  • Oracle Java Environment Error - Not enough java classes defined ?

    I'm using 11gR1, and recently ran into a problem with Java Stored Procedures.
    It was working fine last week, and then this week at runtime I started getting an error:
    Error in Oracle java environment: ops1 - java.lang.Exception: Not enough java classes defined in the database.  Java Stored Procedures are not installed properly.
    I checked both the SYS schema and my user schema's Java classes. Neither had any invalid classes. For my user schema, the number of java classes seems right. For the SYS schema, I haven't figured out how to get past the 2000 rows fetch limit, so it will max out at 2000 - none of which are invalid.
    I cleared out my user schema and re-loaded its classes, and they all compiled/validated fine.
    A google search found no help...
    TIA

  • Java - version does not return the version??

    Hi,
    The following is from a cmd window
    C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.2\bin>java -version
    C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.2\bin>
    It seems to be missing the expected:
    java version "1.2.2"
    Classic VM (build JDK-1.2.2_006, native threads, symcjit)
    Another side effect is that any application using java to launch creates a java process (briefly observed through task manager) and then dies almost instantly.
    The machine is a Win2000 Server running JRE 1.2.2_006, I've tried uninstalling, re-installing, rebooting (between unistalling and reinstalling), setting the path and classpath variables to nothing and running from the folder.
    Anyone seens this before? know what the resolution is?
    Thanks
    Dave

    Thanks for the response, I've already tried that with no success.
    It appears that it might be related to the fact that it's installed on a VMWare machine.
    The java -version command works fine on the VMWare machine when the VM is running on the host machine that it was built on, however when the VMWare machine was moved to a new host it seems that when you run the java interpreter it launches and then just dies??
    I still don't have an answer for why the Java -version does not work.
    As I said before I have uninstalled and reinstalled JRE 1.2.2 a couple of times with no success, however a workaround appears to be to install the JRE 1.3.1.
    After installing JRE 1.3.1 the java -version command works, fortunately the java applications I am using 'seem' to be compatible (with a few modifications to path variables etc) with the 1.3.1 version.
    Thanks
    Dave

  • Java.io.IOException: Not enough space  when running external command

    Hi All,
              I am trying to call gzip utility from my servlet.
              The code line is as below :
              Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
              Process process = runtime.exec("gzip -f -9 " +fileName);
              I got the following error :
              java.io.IOException: Not enough space
              I even tried to use the actual path of gzip in the code :
              Runtime runtime = Runtime.getRuntime();
              Process process = runtime.exec("/usr/bin/gzip -f -9 "
              +fileName);
              But still I got the same error.
              Can anyone tell me what I am missing out.....
              Thanks.

    We just ran into this problem yesterday. For us, it seemed to be a disk
              space problem. If you run "df -k" you'll see how full your file systems
              are. We cleared out some of the /var/log (capacity was 80%) files reducing
              capacity to 50% and the problem went away, for now.

    Hello,
    The error message:
    [Thr 35212] JLaunchIExitJava: exit hook is called (rc = -11113)
    Indicates that one of the core services did not start. The Service Managers controls the life cycle of all services. The services that provide core functionality must always be running. If one of the core services fails to start, the Service Manager exits with an exit code -11113.
    To find the name of the core service that failed to start please see the end of the std_server0.out file.
    Furthermore the reason why the service failed to start will be evident in the defaultTrace.X.trc file in the server0/log directory.
