Java.sql.Timestamp creation with value -4712.01.01 (oracle min timestamp)

How can I create ajava.sql.Timestamp with the value -4712.01.01?
Trying Timestamp timestamp = new Timestamp( -210863523208000l );leads to the date 4713-02-08 00:06:32.0.
Or what is the minimal java.sql.timestamp value in Java?

Thanks for your quick answer.
Yes it is 1st January 4712 BC.
Timestamp timestamp = new Timestamp( -4712, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 000 );//deprecated Method
System.out.println( timestamp ); // returns 2813-02-01 00:00:00.0
System.out.println( timestamp.getTime() );// returns -150904688400000Thats not what I want.You have lost me then. Unless of course you want to use SimpleDateFormat with an appropriate TZ to parse the date to a java.util.Date and then construct a java.sql.Timestamp from the java.util.Date using the java.util.Date#getTime() method to construct the java.sql.Timestamp .

    It didn't work.
    After I changed length of that column of the source datastore (from 15 to 16), ODI created temporary tables (C$ with I$) with larger columns (16 instead of 15) but I got the same error message.
    I'm wondering why I have to extend length of source datastore in the source model if there are no values in the source table with a length greather than 15....
    Any other idea? Thanks !

  • Report Builder Wizard and Parameter Creation with values from other data source e.g. data set or views for non-IT users or Business Analysts

    Hi,
    "Report Builder is a report authoring environment for business users who prefer to work in the Microsoft Office environment.
    You work with one report at a time. You can modify a published report directly from a report server. You can quickly build a report by adding items from the Report Part Gallery provided by report designers from your organization." - As mentioned
    on TechNet.
    I wonder how a non-technical business analyst can use Report Builder 3 to create ad-hoc reports/analysis with list of parameters based on other data sets.
    Do they need to learn TSQL or how to add and link parameter in Report Builder? then How they can add parameter into a report. Not sure what i am missing from whole idea behind Report builder then?
    I have SQL Server 2012 STD and Report Builder 3.0  and want to train non-technical users to create reports as per their need without asking to IT department.
    Everything seems simple and working except parameters with list of values e.g. Sales year List, Sales Month List, Gender etc. etc.
    So how they can configure parameters based on Other data sets?
    Workaround in my mind is to create a report with most of columns and add most frequent parameters based on other data sets and then non-technical user modify that report according to their needs but that way its still restricting users to
    a set of defined reports?
    I want functionality like "Excel Power view parameters" into report builder which is driven from source data and which is only available Excel 2013 onward which most of people don't have yet.
    So how to use Report Builder. Any other thoughts or workaround or guide me the purpose of Report Builder, please let me know.
    Many thanks and Kind Regards,

    Hi Asam,
    If we want to create a parameter depend on another dataset, we can additional create or add the dataset, embedded or shared, that has a query that contains query variables. Then use the option that “Get values from a
    query” to get available values. For more details, please see:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd283107.aspx

  • Problems with value-based hierarchies in Oracle 11gR2

    Hello,
    I have the following problem:
    I want to cereate a dimension with 2 hierarchies.
    These hierarchies have to be value-based.
    It's no problem to fill and display one of them, but when I fill both and try to display them, at the lowest level, the parent-child relevancy is now incorrect.
    Let's display this in OLAP Worksheet for Cube Type OLAP 11g :
    lcolwidth=20
    rpr down nim_2 w 25 NIM_2_PARENTREL
                              ------------------NIM_2_PARENTREL------------------
                              ------------------NIM_2_HIERLIST-------------------
    NIM_2                                KON                       AGT

    303                       NA                        L5_302_A
    304                       NA                        L5_302_AAs you see, the lowest level items are only connectet with one of the hierachies, instead connected with both. (100, 101, e.g)
    If I build the same dimension in a 10g Cube, the result is now correct.
    Let's display this in OLAP Worksheet for Cube Type OLAP 10g :

    What is being announced?
    We are pleased announce the October 19, 2010 release of Oracle Database 11g Release 2 Patchset 1 (11.2.0.2) on HP-UX > Itanium and IBM AIX on POWER Systems.Patchset 10098816
    Description 11.2.0.2.0 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATABASE SERVER
    Product Oracle Database Family
    I have looked, but I cannot find a formal bug for this problem. My hunch is that it was fixed as a side effect of other changes, and I know there were several in this area. My simple test case did work in 11.2.0.2, so I hope it is all fixed. But feel free to enter an SR if you want. (If you mention my name in the SR then support should contact me.) You should certainly do this if moving on to 11.2.0.2 does not resolve the issue.

  • How can af:selectInputDate be sent to database as java.sql.Date???

    I want to send seletInpuDate component value throught to DB as java.sql.Date format, selectInputDate value returns java.util.Date.
    I'm using also Oracle Toplink, is there any way to accomplish this problem with an expression query???

    Use setTimestamp() instead.
    This allows you to specify date and / or time

    Hello,
    In the delivery email configuration server page (under BI Publisher Admin Tab), the username / password to enter is the one defined on the email server itself. It is the user that will be user to send the emails when scedhuling a report.
    It may not be Administrator/ Administrator (not a user defined with OBI admin tool) but the username/password defined on the email server itself.
    Moreover, to properly configure the BI Publisher Scheduler, it is a prerequistes to create bipsched user on Oracle DB and install the schema tables in Oracle DB (by clicking on Install Schema button after defining database connection under Admin / Scheduler Configuration tab)
    From the error your are getting 'SEQ_NAME unknown..., it appears that the tables are not created'.
    Hope this helps and good luck

  • Java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12899

    Hi All,
    I am working on IDOC to JDBC scenario.We want to POst the data from SAP to Oracle Data base. So i have used the hasQuot for Date elements.http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/2002.I [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] am getting the below error in the receiver JDBC channel.
    Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. XXXXXX (structure 'Statement'): java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12899: value too large for column "HRCORE_D"."HRP1007"."BEGDA" (actual: 9, maximum: 8).
    In the XML i m able to see only 8 characters for BEGDA field. I have used trim function before each block in the Mapping.
    <BEGDA hasQuot="No">TO_DATE('2011-08-22','yyyy-MM-dd')</BEGDA>
    Please let me know the solution for this.
    Thanks,
    Soumya.

    The error shows that you are sending the value more than declared for that date field in the table.  You send the field value size more than 8 characters. You actually send 9 characters. This is purely backend error. Java trim method will remove only blank space on the leading and trailing.

  • Put java.sql.Date in correct format

    I need to put java.sql.Date in correct format to query an Oracle database.
    Here is my code:
            SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MMM-yy");
            java.util.Date dateChosen = jXDatePicker1.getDate();
            String strDate = formatter.format(dateChosen);
            System.out.println("Date Chosen: " + strDate); // output is: 11-Feb-00
            java.util.Date parserDate = null;
            try {
                parserDate = formatter.parse(strDate);
            } catch (ParseException re) {
                System.err.println("Exception caught: " + re.getMessage());
            // create java.sql.Date object
                java.sql.Date oraDate = new java.sql.Date(parserDate.getTime());
            System.out.println(oraDate);  // date is in this format: 2000-02-11
            System.out.println("formatted oraDate: " + formatter.format( oraDate ) ); // no good, stringIf I use formatter.format( oraDate ) I get the correct format (11-Feb-00) BUT it is no longer a sql Date, it is a String which can't be use.
    I have looked at the API and many other forum threads on this, any help would be greatly appreciated!

    In the class with the PreparedStatement, I pass the date like this:
    public class report extends javax.swing.JDialog {
         java.sql.Date newDate;
        public report(java.sql.Date passedOraDate, String passedtxtDate) {
            super();
            initComponents();
            setTitle("Report");
            setModal(true);
            newDate = passedOraDate;
            statusLabel.setText(passedtxtDate);
            System.out.println("passedtxtDate: " +passedtxtDate);
            System.out.println("newDate: " +newDate);
        }Here is the code that uses the actual PreparedStatement:
            try {
                // In my actual code I have all columns listed in query
                String query = "SELECT * FROM report WHERE repdate = ?";
                ps = conn.prepareStatement(query); // create a statement
                           ps.setDate(1, newDate); // set input parameter
                rs = ps.executeQuery();
                // extract data from the ResultSet
                ResultSetMetaData md = rs.getMetaData();
                int columns = md.getColumnCount();This is greatly edited to show relevant code!

  • Java.sql.SQLexception: Invalid character encountered in: failAL32UTF8Conv

    I have an Oracle 9i database set to use NLS_CHARACTERSET - AL32UTF8. This database is running on a LINUX server with LANG=en_US.UTF-8. The final piece is an application running on WebLogic. Until recently, I had no problems. Now I receive "invalid character" errors on the WebLogic console when trying to create users via the application using the letters f, o, and r. Does anyone know what direction to look in to resolve this problem? The JDBC driver should be using UTF-8 by default and I am not sure where else to look.
    The exact error we are getting is:
    java.sql.SQLexception: Invalid character encountered in: failAL32UTF8Conv
    I noticed on this forum someone else who had this problem was told to update to the latest Oracle thin driver. We are already using the latest ojdbc14.zip. Do you have any suggestions beyond that?
    FYI - We are running BEA WebLogic Server 8.1.

    driver we ship with our product. The shipped one was the best there was at the time
    but oracle has since fixed other bugs, and this may be one.

  • Java.sql.SQLException: Internal Error while using oracle.sql.ARRAY.getArray

    Hello All,
    Here is the issue description. Our application uses Oracle Object Types and LIST. We deployed our application on QA environment which has Oracle 10g. Application runs fine...no issues. Now we moved to UAT. UAT environment is same as QA environment and DBA have created replica of QA database.
    Now WAR file which works fine with QA database , somehow doesnt work with UAT database. Application throws following exception when code tries to call getArray() on java.sql.Array.
    We tried to point UAT weblogic to QA database and it worked fine.....but when we point UAT weblogic to UAT database , we get following exception. So we know that this is a database issue.
    DBA claims that QA env database and UAT env database are same.
    Can anybody please tell me what wrong here? What setting is not done on UAT database which is done on QA?

    This can happen if you use the oracle.sql.ARRAY class with WebLogic.
    WebLogic wraps oracle.sql.ARRAY with its own class (i.e. weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Array_oracle_sql_ARRAY). The easiest solution is to replace oracle.sql.ARRAY with the JDBC standard java.sql.Array.
    <PRE class=jive-pre><CODE class="jive-code jive-java">Object[] items = (Object[])array.getArray();
    <FONT color=navy><B>if</B></FONT> (items.length &gt; 0) <FONT color=navy>{</FONT>

    Object arrayItem = items;
    <FONT color=navy>}</FONT>
    <FONT color=navy>}</FONT>
    </CODE></PRE>
    The <B>array</B> object is a java.sql.Array. Here no unwrapping of the WebLogic wrapper is needed.
    If you absolutely need the oracle.sql.ARRAY class than you must use an <B>unwrap</B> API on the WebLogic wrapper class.
    <PRE class=jive-pre><CODE class="jive-code jive-java"><FONT color=navy><B>if</B></FONT> (object <FONT color=navy><B>instanceof</B></FONT> weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Array)
    array = (ARRAY) ( ((weblogic.jdbc.wrapper.Array)object).unwrap(Class.forName(<FONT color=red>"oracle.sql.ARRAY"</FONT>)) );
    <FONT color=navy><B>else</B></FONT>
    array = (ARRAY) object;
    </CODE></PRE>
    Here, <B>array</B> is an oracle.sql.ARRAY. Try to see if this <A class=bodylinkwhite href="http://www.software-to-convert.com/3gp-conversion-software/3gp-to-myspace-video-software.html"><FONT face=tahoma,verdana,sans-serif color=#000 size=1>helps</FONT></A>. Good luck.
    Thanks for your explanation! It's very valuable, It is exactly what I need, I understand this part.

    You may possibly modified the oc4j-ra.xml file in the stand-alone directory instead of the file under the OC4J_BPEL directory in midtier.
    Currently, we are seeing some issues with the sample in midtier. So you may like to wait for the GA release [ mid May] for trying out this sample.
    Otherwise please send a mail to [email protected], you need any early drop of this sample.
    HTH.

  • Getting java.sql package.

    Hi, I need to download the java.sql package in order to connect to an Oracle database. Pl. suggest me a url where I could the above. (Searching sun's website yeilded only the doc files, ".html", which are for reference purpose. I am working on Apache with Oracle 8i as my database installed on Oracle 9i Applciation Server)
    Any suggestions or advise or clues would be a great source of help. Thankyou!
    Amit.

    the java.sql package has been part of java since 1.1 at least. so it is fairly safe to assume that if you have the jdk you have java.sql
    any decent zip/archive program can look in and extract the files in a a jar file.
    you do not need to touch this however. what you need is to get the JDBC driver for Oracle.
    you can get that here...
