Java WSDP 1.4 is not parsing SOAP Exceptions

We used Java WSDP 1.4 toolkit to generate stubs for webservices. We used Tomcat 5.1 as the web container. When methods of the webservice are invoked which do not return SOAP exception responses, WSDP is able to properly parse the response and display the resutls correctly. But when the responses contains SOAP exceptions, WSDP always returns
"java.rmi.RemoteException: Runtime exception; nested exception is: trailing block elements must have an id attribute".
But other toolkits like Axis 1.1,.Net,ColdFusionMX,Glue are returning proper exceptions messages. The following is the exception message received from the other toolkits for the same method invocation.
"Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. '1000:Invalid data source name 'invalid_String'"
Apart from Java WSDP all the other toolkits that we mentioned are able to parse the exception message properly and display the same.
Any ideas why the toolkit is behaving like this. All the versions of Java WSDP that have come till date have a similar problem. We would be happy to hear any responses for the problem the we are facing in Java WSDP 1.4. At present we have decided not to use the toolkit for any web service development.

Am specifying the URL of the WSDL file for which we are unable to get proper SOAP Exceptions, whenever they are generated. Whenever we give valid values while invoking the methods, the response is properly parsed, but when a SOAP Exception is supposed to be generated, it generally returns the Runtime exception that we mentioned. Can you please look into it and identify the reason about why it is failing. In case you are able to run it through properly, please attach the code that would make it work properly.

    Hi Kiran
    As you have multiple SOAP action. WSDL can have only one and can be used per communication channel.
    Looking at your error its a XML serialization issue - exception with parser. Your XML input is not correct. If changes are made in your system / target system for the WSDL used. Reimport corrected one and try again
    Thanks

  • Java WSDP vs. J2EE

    I recently downloaded Java Web Services Development Package ... because I need to run SAX with Java (using JAXP in the package). On the other hand, I downloaded a code sample from this site about BookStore application. And I couldn't run the example, someone told me I don't have J2EE installed. I then look for info about J2EE (1.4 Platform) and found that actually it support Java API for XML Processing (JAXP) ... does it mean I can uninstalled my previous downloaded Java WSDP? And, if that's the case, why not just let people download J2EE since it contains all the supports including Java WSDP? Which one is better if I need to run XML and web based application? My guess is J2EE?

    JAXP is included with Java 1.4 (package javax.xml.parsers), so if all you want to do parse XML with SAX, you don't need JWSDP or J2EE. J2EE includes the Java Enterprise APIs, which includes things like Enterprise JavaBeans, servlets, etc. JWSDP provides APIs for building web services that process SOAP messages and includes some packages related to web service that aren't in J2EE, including a UDDI registry server and browser, the JAXR API, WS-I sample app, a web service security API, Tomcat, and Ant.

  • SOAP scenario "Do not use SOAP Envelope" check problems

    Hi Gurus!
    I'm again here.
    I've an scenario with SOAP Receiver, the WS do I need consume, looks like:
    POST /SumTotalws1/services/Authentication.asmx HTTP/1.1
    Host: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
    Content-Length: length
    SOAPAction: "http://www.sumtotalsystems.com/sumtotal7/sumtotalws/Authentication/Login"
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
      <soap:Body>
        <Login xmlns="http://www.sumtotalsystems.com/sumtotal7/sumtotalws/Authentication/">
          <credentials>
            <Username>string</Username>

          </credentials>
        </Login>
      </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    but the response looks like:
    HTTP/1.1 200 OK
    Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8
    Content-Length: length
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">

      <soap:Body>
        <LoginResponse xmlns="http://www.sumtotalsystems.com/sumtotal7/sumtotalws/Authentication/" />
      </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    when I create my communication channel with "Do not Use SOAP Envelope" uncheck it, all run ok, but I only get in response message "<LoginResponse>" and I need <UserToken>
    When I check it "Do not use SOAP Envelope" and I use XSLT mapping to add SOAP Env to request message,  I get response message empty.
    I tried the web Service with the message that I obtained from de XSLT mapping in the program SOAPUI. I get ok response with the <UserToken> value.
    some idea to solve this problem??
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi, thanks for your answer.
    Can I use AXIS to execute any WS?
    The WS that I tried execute looks like this:

    The receiver Communication Chennel is a  SOAP Adapter. This is adapter used for splitting messages on the Integration Server. The error has appeared after updating with SP18 on the SP19 for SAP PI 7.0
    Can somebody please explain how to get rid of this error? Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    My messages is very small. It's 19302 byte. This problem has appeared after installation SP19.
    I used note 870864 and [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/12/5dd23aaad7b3408dde3c1577fda5b3/frameset.htm] for the stoping and starting Integration Server.
    Also problem has appeared  with Receiver SOAP Adapter. Messages  stoped in the Communication Chennal with "SOAP: call failed: java.lang.NullPointerException" errors.
    What could occur?

  • "Error while parsing SOAP XML payload: no element found" received when invoking Web Service

    Running PB 12.1 Build 7000.  Using Easysoap.  Error ""Error while parsing SOAP XML payload: no element found" received when invoking Web Service".  This error does not appear to be coming from the application code.  Noticed that there were some erroneous characters showing up within the header portion of the XML ("&Quot;").  Not sure where these are coming from.  When I do a find within the PB code for ""&quot;" it gets located within two objects, whereas they both reference a "temp_xml_letter".  Not sure where or what temp_xml_letter resides???   The developer of this is no longer with us and my exposure to WSDL and Web Services is rather limited.  Need to get this resolved...please.
    This is the result of the search.  Notice the extraneous characters ("&quot;"):

    Maybe "extraneous" is an incorrect term.  Apparantly, based upon the writeup within Wiki, the parser I am using does not interpret the "&quot;"?  How do I find which parser is being utilized and how to control it?

    On further test, If I let the default oracle xml parser be loaded, then I do not get the the exception.
    I have removed the following lines from orion-application.xml
         <imported-shared-libraries>
              <remove-inherited name="oracle.xml"/>
         </imported-shared-libraries>
    Now, If I access the JPDK provider URL
    http://ple-fjunod.peoplesoft.com:9820/pspc/providers/psprovider/ps/EMPLOYEE
    I get the excepted page
    Congratulations! You have successfully reached your Provider's Test Page.

    Can someone please tell me that if I remove the inherited default oracle XML parser using remove-inherited tag in orion-application.xml, how do I make the JPDK use my own packaged xerces XML parser.
    Thanks

  • Error with Do Not use SOAP envelope

    All,
    I used the do not send SOAP envelope option in the SOAP receiver adapter.
    Instead of XSLT, I used JAVA mapping to create the entire SOAP message ( Am more comfortable with Java and this is just a trial) , and this is the output of my java mapping with the SOAP envelope created,
    <i><?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://www.w3.org/2001/12/soap-envelope"soap:encodingStyle="http://www.w3.org/2001/12/soap-encoding"><soap:Header></soap:Header><soap:Body><ns1:GetQuote xmlns:ns1="http://www.webserviceX.NET/"><ns1:symbol>SAP</ns1:symbol></ns1:GetQuote></soap:Body></soap:Envelope></i>
    Am using the STOCK Quote for testing purposes and this is the error I am getting when testing my interface,
    <i><faultstring>System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server found request content type to be '', but expected 'text/xml'. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapServerProtocol.ReadParameters() at System.Web.Services.Protocols.WebServiceHandler.Invoke() at System.Web.Services.Protocols.WebServiceHandler.CoreProcessRequest()</faultstring></i>
    Any directions  / inputs on how to resolve this issue?
    Regards,
    Bhavesh

    Henrique,
    Tried various permutations~~ The only new error / progress seems to be for this,
    SOAPAction    "http://www.webserviceX.NET/GetQuote"
    This is giving me an error ,
    <i>HTTP server code 400 reason Bad Request explanation <h1>Bad Request (Invalid Header Name)</h1></i>
    Also, tried by adding the Colon after SOAPAction,
    SOAPAction: "http://www.webserviceX.NET/GetQuote"
    Same error
    Final thing i guess is to make SOAPAction all small as soapaction and check if it works. Will let you know.
    Regards,
    Bhavesh

  • SOAP: error occured: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TE

    Hi,
    We are implementing an XI scenario as follows: Mail Adapter->XI->SOAP Receiver.
    Basically, we pass the XML File attachment from the Mail Adapter through XI to the SOAP Adapter. However, we keep getting the following error:
    <i>SOAP: error occured: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML</i>
    Any ideas on where we could look to fix this problem?
    Thanks,
    EC

    People,
    most of errors like that are 401 (unauthorized), 403 (forbidden), 404 (not found) and so on. To be sure, check the message content that comes back from the webservice, in the Message Monitoring.
    Obs: To visualize sync messages payload in Message Monitoring, you'll have to set the Messaging.syncMessageRemover.removebody parameter to <i>false</i> (default is <i>true</i>) in SAP XI AF Messaging service, in the Visual Administrator.
    Regards,
    Henrique.
