Javascript does not work in any browsers

Hello all,
Have had this problem for about five months now, not sure when it started. Essentially Javascript actions don't seem to work in browsers. This is most evident on a site such as Reddit (www.reddit.com), where, even logged in, the UP/DOWN voting arrows simply don't work.
I've tried Safari, Chrome, Opera, and Firefox and the problem persists, telling me it is a system issue. I've since upgraded to Lion and it persists.
I know I can just wipe the system and start from scratch but I'm simply too busy to deal with the days of lost productivity. Can anyone give me some leads on where to look?

The javascript detection script AC posted properly detects the browser version and operating system on all browsers.
That's not the point, though... some sites may be coded specifically for, say, Internet Explorer, which means they'll only work properly on Windows. This is extremely poor design, but it happens.
Are you having trouble with ALL JavaScript, or just on certain sites? If you're not sure, try visiting one of my photo galleries:

When you click on one of the photos, it uses JavaScript to display a pop-up image showing the image at a larger size. That code should work in Safari... I just double-checked and it does work in Safari 5.1 under Lion. If it works for you, you're seeing a problem with certain sites, not with your machine as a whole.

Facetime only works via WiFi. Are you trying to set up Facetime with a T-Mobile account?

As a suggestion I'd put the Text_io segments into their own begin - exception - end sub-blocks within the main code. This way if Text_io does raise an exception you can catch it earlier as it may be able to recover - That is if it is a text_io exception.
Other than that you;ll have to step through in Debug.

Try a reset: Hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go.

Download the yahoo email app, if you already deleted and reinstalled the email account and still have issue.
This is a known issue with Yahoo email account.

URLLoader not working in any browsers but fine in the Flash IDE

I have a problem that seems very strange. A flash script is using URLLoader to update some records and send back a message.
In the flash IDE there is no problem. However, when I upload to the server, or viewing the swf file locally in any browser, the browser just hangs and does not show anything.
I have also added a IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR handler which does not give me any information.
The URLloader is communicating with a php script. I have found out that it works with a .txt file.
Is the anything that needs to be included in the php script?

I have managed to find the answer.
The PHP script had a comment line after the echo statement. Once this was removed the application started the work fine in all the browsers.

I have iMovie '11, and I am unable to access mpeg HD video files that I want to edit. The files are fine (I can open and watch them using VLC), but I cannot seem to import the files into iMovie. File Import does not work. Any suggestions??

More detail: I have a bunch of mpeg HD video files that were shot on a SONY HDR-HC3 Handycam camcorder. I would like to edit these into a single video production. I can access and view the mpeg files using VLC (Quicktime does not work with them). However, I seem to be unable to get the mpeg files to interface with iMovie '11 -- I cannot use the File --> Import command, nor can I drag-and-drop them into iMovie.
Is there something anyone might suggest to get this to work? Or are these files incompatible with iMovie? If so, I assume I must purchase a different video editing software program (e.g. Adobe Premeir Pro). Suggestions???

Yes, I tried that.   The files were ordered by their original numbers as imported from the camera, but I batched them through Phocoshop to downsize all of them into a more manageable file size.   I opened that destination folder from quick time from where it said select image sequence.   I clicked on the first one and opened it.   The result was a large image with an arrow indicating a movie was ready to go.   When I pressed the arrow, though, I realized it had only imported that one frame so there was no movie.   The files are Jpgs and are about 450 KB each.
    To your knowledge are there any links to iMovie tutorials or quick time tutorials that may address this situation? Maybe there will be one I haven't looked at yet.

Adobe 9 - Customization does not work in any way?

i have problem with Adobe 9 Standard and the Customization Wizard.
I've tried it so many times, but the only thing which will work is the entered serial number ;-)
I have created a MST using the Customization Wizard 9. I have configured some settings, like suppress EULA & Registration Wizard, Improvement Program, disabled access to Online features and so on...
But none of these settings are working. i have installed the package this way:
msiexec /i acrostan.msi TRANSFORMS=acro9.mst /qn
Installation succeeded..but when i launched Acrobat, the EULA and the Registration Wizard appears .. and all of the features i have disabled in the wizard are available.
So the only settings which has worked is the serial number and the organization informations.
even i add the Registry keys manually (EULAAceeptedForBrowser etc.) this does not help.
Any suggestions on this?! Thanks in advance!

Might be too little too late but see if this works. I had some similar issues using a full msiexec command.
When using the Customization Wizard, it will create an MST as you mention but when you close the wizard it will also update a file called setup.ini in the same folder as the MSI. In this file it links the msi and the mst together with some other info. So once you load the wizard, load the msi, load your mst, confirm your setting, resave everything you should see setup.ini with the same date stamp as your MST.
Then in your command line don't use misexec /i..... just use setup.exe
The setup.exe will see the setup.ini that will then put everything together.

My System Preferences>Soundoutput screen does not have the "Use audio port for" field.
Does your MBP have two separate audio ports - one for line-in and one output port? Then you wan't see that selector.
but the port has started to work again....Reason???
Perhaps there was dirt or something in the jack and the contact was bad.
(or you accidentally put the plug into the line-in jack instead into the audio-out; that happened to me once ).

Internal isight does not work in any of the applications

I rarely use my built in camera, however I recently noticed that my built in camera iSight (macbook) is not functioning with any of the applications (ichat, photobooth, skype). Dont know how to trouble shoot. Any advise please?

(1) No. What you see is normal for Mac OS X.
Neither "USB" nor "iSight or Camera folder" should be in your "Utilities folder in Apps folder."
