Javascript error in HTML DB

For simplification purposes, if I have a text box named 'test', in a form named 'InsertForm', and I try to overwrite its value via JavaScript upon the user having clicked into the textbox, I do so as follows (though I continue to receive an error function claiming the window.formname property is null). How would I reference the formname and field name?

Hello Kevin,
This is a difficult issue as the init code for the editor item is being generated internally by the APEX engine, and we don’t have any control over it. As I see it, a complete solution can only be provided by the APEX team.
Until then I’m using a workaround, based on the original init code. The FCK Editor takes a standard textarea and convert it into the editor item, based on its init parameters.
First I’m uploading the FCK JavaScript code, using the page HTML Header Text (If you are using the editor a lot, you can define a page template to do that for you). The code is:

"JavaScript Error encountered while loading HTML"

Hi,
I have been trying to embed a google map on a InDesign CC page, NO LUCK YET.
I spoke several Adobe InDesign help line people, unfortunately they couldn't solve it.
Here is the problem: I tried with different versions
1- version) I copy of a map code and paste the code on a page, shows grey square round image and nothing (no map)
2- version) From Object menu:
    "Select insert HTML.."
    "This is an HTML snippet."
I paste the codes into HTML box, a second later, small box message,
     "JavaScript Error encountered while loading HTML"
I have 64bit 12gb ram computer with windows 8.1
InDesign CC version 9.2.1 x64
Java 7 update 51
I have tried with Internet explorer, google chrome and fire fox, and different maps, still no luck.
Can anyone solve this problem?

Yes, Google changed something and not for the better.
Try a bing map instead. They work fine.

Cs6 dreamweaver - javascript error with Clean up Word HTML . . .

Very recently upgraded to CS6 from CS5.5. Every now and then, I have to run the Clean up Word HTML Commands function for a client. Never had a problem before. This time, I got this message:
While executing onClick in Clean Up Word HTML.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred:
At line 2012 of the "Macintosh HD:Applications:Adobe Dreamweaver CS6:Configuration:commans:Clean Up Word HTML.js"
The object is not currently contained in a document.
I searched through the Discussions and found refernce to deleting MacFileCache-###.dat file in the Library Configuration folder for Dreamweaver CS 6. Did that, same thing. It also mentioned deleted the entire Configuration folder. Same result.
I called tech support and was directed to go through the (count 'em) 14 steps on the Troubleshoot JavaScript page -- http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-javascript-errors-dreamweaver-cs4.html. Still no luck.
Anyone else out there having this problem? What am I missing? Help!

That could be. Let me know when you have grabbed these. They were Word docs that I saved the same way I always have done (Save As, Format: Web Page (.htm)), creating .htm files that work in CS5.5 Dreamweaver and earlier versions.

WebEngine HTML/JavaScript errors

Is there a way to kwown if the WebView's WebEngine has detected HTML/JavaScript errors when loading content? And is there a way to list these errors?

Couldn't tell you the canonical way to do this.
Some thoughts:
1. There is a new debug API for WebView in 2.2, perhaps that may also be of use to you.
2. Firebug Lite can be be used to debug the WebEngine (it lists JavaScript errors after is has been loaded).
3. For catching JavaScript errors, you could try the JavaScript window on error function - http://www.w3.org/wiki/DOM/window.onerror. If you don't control the html you are loading, you will need to insert it some way (e.g. via webEngine().executeScript()), in which case timing the insertion to happen before any javascript has been executed might be tricky.
4. There is an exception property on the loadworker, but don't think it would be much help here as I think it is for different kinds of errors like "could not connect", you could trap it and see what it contains.
5. You could monitor the webengine's location property and fetch the url seperately and pass it through a tool like htmltidy in diagnostic mode which will generate a list of html errors and warnings (wouldn't exactly match webview's parsing handler).
The html5 parsing algorithm is very forgiving of sloppy and mismatched html.
Generally browsing engines just tend to ignore javascript and html errors and continue processing - they are not strict validators.

Javascript error calling a bi 7.0 webapplication from a bsp application

Hi everyone,
This is the scenario we're facing a javascript error :
Enterprise Portal is calling a custom bsp application ( via an iview in the enterprise portal ) in the bi system with a parameter "template_id" and a value, which is the technical name of a bi web application.
The bsp application is evaluating the parameter by some custom code and creating a html page with a redirect or a maintenance message to the bi web application passed with the parameter "template_id".

Purpose of the bsp application :
in the bi system there is a database table to maintain a flag for each webtemplate and infocube, which should not be called via the enterprise portal for a certain time ( some kind of maintenance switch ). The bsp application then decides to show a maintenance page for the called webtemplate or to send the redirect page to the client.
The process described above is :
working with the bi 7.01 sp7 in the bi ( enterprise portal sp22 ) in the productive system.
working in the Q&A system bi 7.01 sp8 with bi 3.5 web applications.
not working in the Q&A system bi 7.01 sp8 with bi 7.0 web applications.

We've opened a message. Support center is saying that this method isn't supported by sap. We should ommit the bsp application and the used functionality.
Is there any way to find out, what is causing this object is missing ?
Is there another way than a bsp application to use this custom maintenance function in the described system setup ?

we did some further analysis on this problem und we think we found the problem.
The error occurs while trying to execute the standard url for web templates inside a Enterprise Portal Frame, for example

While executing the URL a HTML-Page with some embeded Javascript-code is sent back to the browser.
In this Javascrip-Code, the method-call "dsmObj.registerAll" leads to a script error in Internet Explorer.

In SP7, the method "dsmObj.registerFullKey" is called instead of "dsmObj.registerAll". This has changed in SP8.

The object "dsmObj" seems to reference the parent frame of the Enterprise Portal.

Dreamweaver 6 launch error - JavaScript error bcinit

I have DW6 latest version running on Win XP SP3 and am all of a sudden getting the strangest bug (I have reported it), but I am wondering if anyone else has seen it or has any ideas how to fix it?
FYI I have already tried completely uninstalling Creative Cloud, rebooting, running the Creative Clean utility to remove all traces of any suite and then reinstalling Creative Cloud (takes hours ) and still have the same problem which is as follows below (FWIW I have never used BusinessCatalyst, either):
I launch DW and get the following error message "While executing onLoad in BusinessCatalyst.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred: In file "BusinessCatalyst": bcinit is not defined"
When I try to open a file I get the following error message "The following translators were no loaded due to errors: ASP.NET: has configuration information that is invalid. BCDynamicTranslator.html: has configuration data that is invalid. BCStaticTranslator.html has configuration information that is invalid. XSLTransform.htm: has configuration data that is invalid"
Once I clear the dialog DW loads. However, when I attempt to save a file I then get the message "While executing onLoad in _beforeSave.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred: In file "_beforeSave": beforeSave is not defined"
In addition, the space in the Help menu for Updates is simply blank and there is no Edit > Paste item either (just an empty space).
One other clue is that after I reinstalled Creative Cloud and BEFORE I applied the latest updates it seemed DW ran OK (it was a quick check, so I might be wrong).
The problems above are rendering DW unuseable to me at the moment, and it is totally bizarre they remain after a complete reinstall, so any clues on what has happened/how to fix it would be greatfully received!

So many thanks for that. I tried step 4 and deleted 2 WinFileCache files (neither of which were called what they said they were) and restarted DW and it now (so far!) seems to work again.
I have no idea what went wrong, but I am up and running again, so MUCHOS thanks again for your swift repsonse!

JavaScript error on Interactive Report

When clicking on the Magnifying glass of my interactive report search bar, I receive a JavaScript error.
Line: 2 Char: 15193 Error: Syntax Error
The page that I am navigating to has 2 regions. The first is an interactive report and the second is an html region that has an Iframe reference to another interactive report. Based upon the selection of a radio group, the corresponding region(interactive report) displays. All other interactive reports work fine when their pages don't have a region with a Iframe reference.
If I navigate to another page after the error occurs and then come back to the page, everything then works fine. The error only happens on the first use. I have installed the latest patch set for Apex 3.2 I currently am running 3.2.1.00.11. I read a bug on Metalink that referenced this javascript error, but applying the patch set does not seem to fix the issue. The bug was 8568894.
Any help would be appreciated.

This might be useful for others also...
After hours and hours of debugging headers and responses and comparing pages to others which work, I realised that this interactive report's display condition is based on REQUEST = SUBMIT.
As such, the actions menu will NOT set the Request parameter when clicking in the actions menu and the Apex engine refuses to send anything back to the browser - not even an error message.
I'll raise a bug for this via Oracle Support.

Javascript error when opening Tag editor

I have been using dreamweaver 8 for the last month or so. all
of a sudden a couple of days a go it started to give me the same
error every time i right clicked an input element and clicked the
'Tag Edit <Input>'.
The error reads
"While executing onLoad in input.htm, a JavaScript error
occurred."
Any ideas?
I have already tried the repair option in Add/Remove
Programs, and that didnt work
I then tried the Remove option, and then completely
reinstalled it to no prevail

OnClick JavaScript error

I have made several changes to my nav bar through Fireworks
and exported, which I have done a million times, but this time when
I inser Fireworkd HTML image it gives me the following message:
While executing onClick in Fireworks HTML.htm, the following

At line 438 of File C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
MX 2004\Configuration\Shared\MM\Scripts\InsertFireworksHTML.js":
TypeError: menuFn.match(searchPatt)has no properties.
I should tell you we have two sites we are putting this in.
One to test pages and one that is live.
Any help would be great!

Don't use FW menus.
You can try this simple fix -
Quit DW.
Find this folder -
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration\WinFileCache-*.dat
(these folders are normally hidden - you may have to use
Explorer > Tools >
Folder Options to unhide them)
or on Mac -
Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Dreamweaver
8/Configuration/MacFileCache-*.dat
and delete it.
Restart DW. Works better?

What should be a simple web update is turning into a nightmare. I can't select any of my images to apply onMouseOver Swap Image behaviors, and I keep getting the message above.

Javascript error when selecting Spry Menu Bar in Design View

Hi there,
I get the following error message when trying to format the Spry Menu Bar in Design View:
"while executing inspectSelection in spry_menu.htm, a Javascript error occurred."
I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:
deleting site cache
closing/re-opening Dreamweaver
deleting Spry Menu Bar and recreating - same error occurs.
Other information:
I am using a MacBook Pro
it happens when clicking on the Menu Bar itself. I just want to change the properties
the Spry Menu Bar does not appear in Live View.

The problem appears to have returned. I am getting the same error message as before and also an error saying there is a syntax error in my source code. Dreamweaver tells me which line the error is in:

Javascript Error - Uncaught ReferenceError: $s is not defined in ApEx 3.0.1

Hi,
I am using Oracle ApEx 3.0.1 and am trying to implement the Ajax Loading animation on a report I am running. The problem though, is that I am getting a javascript error on the following line:
window.setTimeout('$s("AjaxLoading",$x("AjaxLoading").innerHTML)', 10);Looks like in Oracle ApEx 3.0.1, I am getting the javascript error:> Uncaught ReferenceError: *$s is not defined*
What would I need to change, to get this to work with no javascript errors in Oracle ApEx version 3.0.1 ?

Javascript error on file download

I have a file browsing portlet (5.0.3 .NET) that allows users to download files. I link the displayed files to a download aspx page that just uses the C# Response.WriteFile(filepath); action. The only problem is that when the browser Save/Open dialog pops up, I get a javascript error as well on line 473. Now my page has no javascript so I think the page is getting gatewayed and causing it to error. So is there a way to prevent this one page from getting gatewayed.

Here is the code for the Page_Load event. The filepath var is grabbed from the URL. I set the ContentType, so I wouldn't think it would see it as HTML. I'm not using any web controls on the download page, just this code-behind:

Response.Clear();
Response.ContentType = "application/octet-stream";
String Header = "attachment; filename=" + FileName;

I am getting JavaScript Errors when I attempt to use the Multiscreen Preview function in DW CS 5.

When I attepmpt to use the Multiscreen Preview button in DW CS 5 I get the following error:
"While executing onShow in MultiscreenPreview.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occured:
In file "Multiscreen Preview":
onShow is not defined"
This leads to either an unusable multiscreen preview box or another series of similar JavaScript errors.
Is there a solution to this problem and if so what is it?
