Javascript error Line 382

Running DW 8.02. I can't create new recordsets and when I
attempt to update existing ones I get the following:
"Line 382 of C:\program files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration\Serverbehaviors\Shared\RSS servermodel switches.js"
Then I get: "Reference error field type is not defined"
Then I get: " While executing applyserverbehavior in
recordset.htm, a javascript error occurred"
I have completely de-installed DW 8 - re-installed the added
the upgrade 8.02 download. Still having same problem. Can't create
recordsets when attempting to create new site. Anyone else having
this problem? Any assistance would be appreciated.

You can try this simple fix -
Quit DW.
Find this folder -
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application
Data\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
8\Configuration\WinFileCache-*.dat
(these folders are normally hidden - you may have to use
Explorer > Tools >
Folder Options to unhide them)
or on Mac -
Library/Application Support/Macromedia/Dreamweaver
8/Configuration/MacFileCache-*.dat
and delete it.
Restart DW. Works better?

Above Error appears when the below option in IE is selected.And also, Error appears only when the user enters the date.Also, I cannot ask users to uncheck the settings in IE as most of the users doesn't have administrator access to their amchines
Error doesn't seem to appear when user selects the date from DataPicker component irrespective whether the below option in IE is selected or not.

Display a Notification about Every Script Error
I'm not able to find what could be the problem in EP 7.0 as it works perfectly in EP5.0.
Any ideas would be appreciated !!

Missing Icons in SE80 & Javascript errors

Hi All,
I am trying to write a basic web dynpro for abap in an ECC 6.0 system and am getting Java script errors and missing images when I switch to the view editor in SE80. All of the images are missing in the layout tab. Instead of seeing the images that relate to the UI elements, I see red cross ( image not found) type icons. When I drag the red cross that should be a button image onto the view, I get a Javascript error "Line 0 : Object Expected".
I'm tried using a number of different GUI installs including 6.40 and 7.10 and all give me the same error. I have the IE 6.0.2900 release of the browser.

Working with portal an IE5.0 I get in the portal navigator an Javascript Error:

This error is new. I'm still working with my installation on NT since 3 month. But I got this error today for the first time. Now, I'm unable to edit or delete portal pages, content areas and styles.

Yes, we are using REMOTE TABLES for MD forms but we did not have these errors in 3.0.7.

Javascript error throws the portal theme configuration page

General Description: Javascript error and jump to the portal theme

We need that the user see the page assigned, but this error shows him

LR_MX_PAG_Edicion page shows normally.

Jsessionid giving Javascript error HELP!!

I am getting this javascript error:

If you do view source, this is what you see:

I understand all the URL Rewriting that's going on (I am using Tomcat 4.1.12), what I don't know is why I'm getting this javascript error and if there is a way around it.

If you cannot prevent URL rewriting for javascript links,
you can use a link like:
<a href="javascript:doSubmit(document.SearchForm);[b//[/b">LINKHERE</a>
which should be rewritten as
<a href="javascript:doSubmit(document.SearchForm);//;jsessionid=AD8AFG45678545RFFGTYYY">LINKHERE</a>
As the jsessionid part is in a javascript comment, it will cause no error.

Strange JavaScript Errors

i get strange Java-Script Errors when working with VC.
IE 7, low-security local intranet zone, already cleaned all caches, etc
MS XML 3,4,6 installed
Adobe SVG installed
Clicking on the "new" icon in the Toolbar: JavaScript Error Line 131:

Compose-Menu: NO entries
Configure-Menu: Much empty space between the "General"-Header and Model-Name Entry

VC 7.0 was running just fine, but VC 7.1 is absolutely bricked....
Anyone the same Problems??

I don't know if this will solve your problem but I noticed that you are using MS XML 3.4.6 and on [Visual Composer Prerequisites|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/5a/ce36945e8d4f99b1e1ade2fa27657c/frameset.htm] it is stated that the required version is MS XML 4.0 or higher.

Javascript error on entering maxLength to textInput

We have a UIX page with around 1 text input:

We have set maximum length for the text input. When we try to key in maximum characters for this text input except the Notes field,
its working fine. But when we key in maximum characters for the Notes field(with new line character(\n) inbetween) we get the following javascript error,

We found the problem with the Message Text Input field.
We have removed the maximumLength for the Message Text Input field. We manually take the length of the field (Length of the field included characters, spaces, carriage returns) and check the same against the maximum length specified in the DB. If the length is more than maximum length , an alert is prompted to the user. This is working fine. If the length is less than maximum length, it doesn't shown an alert, but at times an JBO exception was thrown as you said. When we analyzed we found that the JDeveloper calculates the length of the field as,
Length entered by the user (Our case it is 1197)+
No of carriage returns (Our case it is 14) = Length which is checked against maximum length specified in the DB (Our case it is 1211)
Since it is greater than 1200, it throws an JBO Exception. If we remove 11 characters, it works fine.
We add the number of carriage returns and total length of the field. If it is more than maximum length, we alert an message.
The above mentioned solution worked fine. But at times if I give a set of lines without carriage returns it throws the java script error.
Can any one please help out. This has become a critical issue in our project

Can you try restarting the server once. We resolved this issue by restarting the server and clearing and restting the browesr to the defaults.

to me this looks like a race condition and - to be honest - while writing I used Firefox. I think the safe way of solving this issue is to use one of the available Ajax libraries (e.g. Dojo) that provide you a handle to the request object. I didn't yet look at who handles the browser differences, so I cannot give you a name of a library
Maybe http://www.ajaxian.com/ is a good starting point

JavaScript errors in IE6 during ExternalInterface.addCallback

I'm having a terrible time getting the Bridge to work in IE6.
(A working Firefox prototype took all of 20 minutes.)
I'm using UFO (

to load the .swf file. However, when it gets to the
ExternalInterface.addCallback in FABridge.as, IE throws some opaque
JavaScript errors: Line 1, Char 22 Syntax Error. If I comment out
all of the ExternalInterface.addCallback calls, IE gets past this,
however, nothing works beyond that (not surprisingly). Am I missing
something obvious with regard to IE?

Looks like my above code was not setting the object/@id
correctly on the Flash object. Once I added id: 'chart' to

I am running Indesign CS3 on an XP computer. I installed a plugin for barcodes from teacup Software, Barcodemaker for Indesign CS3 win and this has crashed my Indesign CS3.
Everytime I startup I get this Javascript error! Error number: 45 Error string: objects is invalid line: 387 I hit enter and iget the same message line: 428.

I can't find the file Pluginconfig.txt on my computer to delte as suggested in this article. Can anyone help with this issue.
I have uninstalled the plugin and I have try to repair/reinstall my copy of Indesigh CS3 version 5.0.4 but it still is not possible to use Indesign.
Has anyone encoutered this problem? Can you tell me where to find this file Pluginconfig.txt.

This is a hidden folder, so you'll need to set Explorer to show hidden files if you haven't already. Start by just renaming the folder to _InDesign Recovery and it should rebuild on the next launch if this is going to work. If it doesn't work, you won't have lost anything.
Might work even better if you were to try a system restore, however. Do you have a restore point from before the plugin was installed?

JavaScript Error on Line 35

For some reason my iphone Safari will not navigate to certain pages that it previously did. Tonight I turned on the debug console and when I try to navigate to those pages it tells me that I have a JavaScript Error on Line 35.
How can I fix this error so that I can navigate to these pages? Is there a way to restore the Safari settings?

It's more likely that something has changed on the server you are connecting to rather than something in the Safari browser, and unless it is your own website you won't be able to fix it yourself.
Try clearing the Safari browser caches and cookies though. The JavaScript error may be unrelated.

Ipad 2 safari showing javascript error in line 1 while surfing any yahoo site

I am not able to surf any yahoo website on my ipad2. There is javascript error in line 1. Also showing unsafe attempt frame.....yahoo.com

I use yahoo sites, but Safari doesn't support Java, so you'll aways have the error. I'm not sure if there are other browsers out there that handle it better or if it doesn't run on the iPad at all.
