JavaScript File + tom-cat....HELP...URGENT....

Hi,
I am sorry i am crossposting, but i need to solve this ASAP...
I need to use JavaScript file in my application.
Can someone tell me where can i put my javascript file in tomcat.
Someone told me to put it in webapp.
SO i created a javascript folder in webapp.
I am calling like this.
<script language=JavaScript src='/webapps/JavaScript/GridSort.js'></script>
But somehow it can not find the js file.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I think they meant make a folder in the directory that your webapp is located.
Say your webapp is named MyWebApp then create a folder:
%TOMCAT_HOME%/webapps/MyWebApp/javascript/MyJsFile.js
Then in your jsp will locate the file with
<Script Language="JavaScript" src='/MyWebApp/javascript/MyJsFile.js'></Script>

    please do help.
    urgent
    thanks
    Ramya

    Hi Ramya,
    As stated above, you have to decompile those files. Oracle does not provide java source of controller, vo etc.
    However, previously some issues has been noticed with jad java decompiler.Moreover its command line tool.
    Another good decompiler is jd-gui which is gui based tool and overcomes some of probs of jad.
    You can refer this thread.

  • Javascript File Location?

    Hi
    My company has a lincence for RoboHelp 8 , I wanted to know the location for RoboHelp javascript File. "The Helper function for WebHelp Context Sensitive Help"

    Welcome to our community
    I'm assuming by "Helper function" you are meaning the WebHelp API?
    I believe it is stored in a subfolder of your RoboHelp installation folder. That location will vary depending on your RoboHelp version and your operating system.
    So what version of RoboHelp are you using? And what is your operating system?
    Cheers... Rick

    Hi all I am new to this community and this is my first post here. So if this is the wrong place for these then pls let me know the right area. Thanks.I have looped over the result set using CFLOOP in  javascript function and it is working fine. But I want to know if this can be done since javascript is a client side scripting language and CF is a server side. Is this the right way of coding? Can i use cfloop in a javascript function? Please help me as this is urgent. Thanks in advance.

    You you can use CFML inside of a JavaScript <script..> block to dynamically build the JavaScript code to send to the client.  It is a very powerful technique for building highly interactive web sites.
    Just realize that all the JavaScript code is going to be completely built by the CFML and then sent to the browser client through the web server where the JavaScript is executed completely independent of anything that is running on the server.  The JavaScript can not read or write variables on the server or vice-a-versa.  But it is quite easy to export variable values from ColdFusion to JavaScript.  It is a bit more work to export variable values back requiring either the browser or JavaScript to make a new request of the server to send the data.  AJAX does allow this to happen behind the scenes making it look like the data is being shared.  But in reality it is being passed back and forth with independent HTTP requests and responses.

  • JDBC Thin Drivers and Tom Cat Compatibility Error

    I tried to use thin drivers in JDK 1.4 and Oracle 9i. The Oracle 9i has got a jar file named classes12.jar.
    i usually compile my .java files with the command:
    javac -classpath D:\oracle\jdbc\lib\classes12.jar <nameOfFile.java>
    the same is run in the console by the command
    java -classpath D:\oracle\jdbc\classes12.jar; <nameOfClassFile>
    I am giving the entire code that I want to compile and run below.
    The problem thing I am facing is ..... When even I try to start TOMCAT v5.0 I have to close the TSNListener of Oracle 9i and let the Oracle database only running. But when I request for a execution of a servlet that uses the class file, it gives an error. Telling ClassNotFound. If I add up the classes12.jar file in the classpath then tom cat does not run properly.
    So may anyone help me out of the situation of how to use the thin drivers, compile and run servlets and jsp's in TomCat v5.0.
    If not the solution of my above problem, then I want to know how can I use the Thin Drivers and implement a MVC architechture using TOMCAT and JDK1.5 and JRE1.5

    Where did you add the classes12.jar file reference in Tomcat?
    You need not add it to classpath. Just drop the jar file into the path":
    <TomCatInstallDir>\common\lib
    Tomcat loads all Jars inside this folder and then uses it for Runtime. It does not look at your machine's Classpath attribute

  • Loosing session variables in tom cat web app

    Hi,
    I have a very strange problem. I keep loosing session state when I open a JSP from another one.
    The funny part is that it only happens when I access my application from outside my LAN. when I test my application from a client located inside my LAN I have no problems. It raeds session variables with no problems. When I teste t from outside my LAN where the server is located it looses my session variables. i acts as if it has timed out.
    Can you help me with this? The Tom Cat version I`m using is 4.1.27 and the JDK is 1.3.1.
    Many thanks,
    Rui Silva

    travis is right. You should make sure you always pass all your URLs through the String response.encodeURL(String) method. Some users may not be able to accept cookies, others may intentionally turn them off. If you want you app to work in all cases, then your URLs need to be encoded.
    This counts for URLs as part of links, form actions, javascript submissions, etc...

  • Javascript file - open BI Publisher report

    Good afternoon.
    I'm not sure if this is even possible but hopefully one of you experts out there will be able to advise;
    I had some javascript in my page which contained a simple function to open a BI Publisher report, it was:
    function run_40BFG()
    popupURL('&BI_URL.Guest/MyFolder/MM_40BFG/MM_40BFG.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=1&P_CASE_ID=&P303_CASE_ID.&xt=MM_40BFG_xf=rtf');
    ...this worked fine. To improve maintainability (I don't want to amend the Page Header each time I add a report), I wanted to extract this function and place it in a javascript file which I have done with 'some' success.
    Page Template amended - OK
    Page Header global variables added - OK (tested with simple 'alert' function and all was fine)
    Now the function in the javascript file looks like:
    function run_40BFG()
    popupURL('gBIurl.Guest/MyFolder/MM_40BFG/MM_40BFG.xdo?_xpf=&_xpt=1&P_CASE_ID=gCaseID.&xt=MM_40BFG_xf=rtf');
    ...but each time I receive a 500 Internal Server Error.
    Is it at all possible to run a BIP report from an external javascript file? If not, is there another way?
    If it is possible, what am I doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance!
    Sue

    ...just wanted to bump this up the thread list in the hope that someone will be able to help!
    Thanks

  • PASSWORD FOR FLODERS  PLEAse  HELP URGENT

    HI ALL

    provision for some folders/files in the system.
    it should ask for password authentification before
    opening when i click on the folder.
    please help urgent
    thanks
    belur

    Hi Swaroopba,
    It can be very well done thru Form based Authentication.
    For eg let me explain with respect to Tomcat.
    Go to
    $TOMCAT_HOME/webapps/examples/WEB-INF directory.
    Please add the following code in it.
    <security-constraint>
    <web-resource-collection>
    <web-resource-name>Protected Area </web-resource-name>
    <!-- Define the context URL's to be protected -->
    <url-pattern>/jsp/security/protected</url-pattern>
    </web-resource-collection>
    </security-constraint>
    Please add the following code in it. And you have to specify the roles for it.
    I hope this will be helpful for you.
    Or if you want it in an application, please let me know.
    Thanks
    Bakrudeen

  • Deployed application does not contain javascript files

    Hello,
    I am a unexperienced user of the BPM Studio. When I start my application in Oracle BPM my application does not contain the javascript files. It is quite weird, because the path to the .js files is proper - the application works on other computers. I have observed several weird things:
    - when I lookup the application in Firebug, when I try to lookup the source of the .js files, firebug console presents something like this (i deleted most of the html so that it is easy to read):
    <html><head><title>Apache Tomcat/5.5.15 - Error report</title>
    <body>HTTP Status 404 - /workspace//webRoot/webResources/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js
    Status report message /workspace//webRoot/webResources/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js
    The requested resource (/workspace//webRoot/webResources/js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js) is not available.
    <h3>Apache Tomcat/5.5.15</h3></body></html>- as i said - the application works just fine on other computers, without having to edit the path to the .js files
    - the application doesn't deploy the application (at least I think it does not) in the OraBPMStudioHome - the application is in the following folder:
    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\OraBPMStudioHome\webapps\workspace\webRoot
    I am using OracleBPM Studio 10gR3, my system is Windows 7 Proffessional 64bit. Could the fact, that my system is 64 bit, cause the error?
    I haven't changed anything in the web.xml, workspace.properties files.
    It looks as if the server didn't include my js files. What may be causing this? I tried to locate the folder where the Tomcat Server deployes the application, and copying the js files where they should be manually, but that didn't work out well - the web application still does not see them.
    By the way, the double // slashes in the path to the .js file are fine on other computers, but is that proper?
    My application uses other scripts, not only jQuery, so changing the link to the jQuery file, won't work.
    I'd be very happy for any solution, thanks in advance!

    Nope, that's not the case; all the imports are handled by the <fuego:webResources /> tag, like this:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="<fuego:webResources relativePath='js/jquery-1.4.2.min.js'/>"></script>If that helps, the folder structure, with the .js files is as follows: ../webRoot/webResources/js/ ....
    As I said before - none of my colleagues, who use this application, has this problem, the application runs fine on other computers. The only (or at least that's what I think) difference, is that I use a 64 bit OS... Maybe that's the problem? Or maybe something is wrong in one of my BPM configuration files?

    Well, you're not using position:absolute, so you've got a big thumbs up from a bunch of us for that.
    Is there any chance you could post a link to this page on your server? It's much easier to troubleshoot from a browser than it is to rebuild the page from code fragments.
    If you haven't gone live with the page yet, create a folder called TEST in your site and save copies of the page and css there. Upload TEST and post a link to it here. Once the problem is found/fixed, delete TEST from the server.
    You can also attempt to use Firefox or Chrome to find your issue by right clicking > Inspect Element. All CSS that affects a given element will be displayed with file name and line numbers there.

  • How to include javascript file (.js) to pages in portal

    Hi,
    I have been trying to include a javascript file (something.js) to a portal. actually, I want to include it on a html portlet that will be my navigation page.
    I have used the code below to add the js file, but it seems not working
    <script language="JavaScript1.2" src="/javascript/cp_navigation.js">
    </script>
    I have uploaded the js file to the /ora9ias/enterprise/portal/javascript folder (created) in portal server. is there any configuration that I have left out?
    another thing, if I want to include some of the js file to the <head> section, am I possible to do it? and how?
    thanks

    Jerry,
    Where to find this? give the date or the name, please?

  • Source code organization: How to divide large JavaScript files into several smaller JavaScript files?

    Hello,
    some of my JavaScripts have become considerably large over time. What I would like to do is to split a single (large) JavaScript source file into several smaller source files plus an additional JavaScript file containing code or directives to recombine the split files.
    In other words, I would like to organize my JavaScript source code into re-usable modules.
    Although I searched the Acrobat JavaScript developer documentation and did a lot of Web searching, I still have no idea...
    whether the Acrobat JavaScript scripting environment itself does provide a code structuring mechanism
    how to properly organize large Acrobat JavaScripts in general.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot in advance!
    Sebastian

    Document-level scripts are not accessible to other documents/scripts, so they're not a good option.
    Folder-level scripts, on the other hand, are accessible to all other documents/scripts. So if you have a general function that creates a 3D annotation, for example, you can place it in a folder-level script and then call it from other scripts (you will probably need to provide it a handle for the document and properties of the annotation).
    One thing to be aware of, though, is that the folder-level scripts are loaded alphabetically, so don't put a reference in script aaa.js to something that loads in zzz.js, or you will get an error message when you open Acrobat. (this is not a problem if zzz.js is not called during the launch of Acrobat)

  • Problem with Javascript file downloaded

    Hi everyone
    Im totally new to downloading javascript files, and ive made
    a bad mistake when installing.
    I downloaded a javascript file called 'close window' to my
    desktop then installed it using the
    DW extension manager.
    I thought after it would be a good idea to put that file then
    into a javascripts behaviors folder in my program file for DW. Bad
    idea!
    When i loaded up DW8 again, i got lots of error messeges
    (which i can post if its any help) and now i cant use any
    javascripts.
    Ive deinstalled the program and reinstalled the program many
    times. Ive tried deleting all my personal files i created as well,
    the reinstalling DW*
    still the same messeges come up, ive been battling with this
    for 3 hours now, please someone help!!
    thanks
