Javascript function doesn't display alt text of the initial image in recordset

I have the following javascript code to display the alt text
database field of the current moused over thumbnail image. All
works fine except for the initial image's alt text. It does not
display:
PAGE EXAMPLE:
http://www.canchair.com/new_web_product_detail.asp?ProductID=198&ProductFamily=1&ProductFa milySub=10
HEAD SECTION JAVASCRIPT CODE:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
var currentImage;
function showBigImage( isource,bigImage,header ) {
var theImage = document.getElementById( 'largeimage' );
theImage.src = isource;
currentImage = bigImage;
document.getElementById('photoHeader').innerHTML=header;
document.getElementById( 'largeimage' ).alt=header;
PAGE CODE:
<a href="javascript:;">
<img src="imagescript.asp?path=<%= images.Fields.Item(
"url_img" ).Value %>&Width=36" border="0"
onmouseover="showBigImage( 'imagescript.asp?path=<%=
images.Fields.Item( "url_img" ).Value %>&Width=250','<%=
images.Fields.Item( "url_img" ).Value
%>','<%=(images.Fields.Item("alt_img").Value)%>' )" alt=""
/></a>

Why don't you show the rendered code? (Not server code)
Mick.

  • Data merged text into boxes assigned for InCopy doesn't display merged text, only the placeholder

    I think I found a bug.
    I created an InDesign document for use in InCopy for a client. The end goal is to data merge a whole array of documents for the client, who can open them in InCopy and update the text.
    I designed the layout
    I created the assignments for InCopy (which stories and images the InCopy user could edit)
    I then set up a data merge to pre-populate content like contact details, portrait photos etc
    When I merged the final document, two things happened.
    The images didn't respond to the Content Placement Options (fill proportionally), they all just got placed at 100% size ratio (they did centre though)
    The data merge fields didn't populate the placeholders with the relevant text. All of the fields just came up as their placeholders <<Phone>> <<Fax>> etc
    As soon as I deleted the assignments and re-merged, the image settings were being applied and the fields were populating the documents.
    I'm using the latest version on CC, 10.0.0.70.
    Anyone else had this issue? It's very specific but it is a bug.

    A couple of other users have reported similar problems, and it appears to be a bug when you go from preview to merge. If you undo out of preview, or skip it entirely, before hitting themerge button, does it work?

  • How to stop IE from displaying alt text as tool tip when mouse over image.

    I have random images being [B]echo[/B] by a PHP script on a page.
    [CODE]<img src="<?php echo $randomImage; ?>" alt="This is alt text" />[/CODE]
    The problem is every time you scroll over the image, IE spits out the alt text.
    I understand the alt text are meant for accessibility.
    So how can I stop this IE behavior with out compromising accessibilty?

  • Problem with Alt Text output from thumbnail image of Lightbox widget

    I’m having a problem with the Lightbox widget not producing alternative text based on the image properties.  I’ve set ALT text for the image properties on both the larger Ligtbox image as well as the thumbnail.  But the HTML output from Muse does not include the ALT text on the thumbnail version of the image.  Here’s an example:
        <div class="popup_anchor">
           <div class="Thumb popup_element clearfix" id="u4409"><!-- group -->
            <a class="anchor_item grpelem" id="untitled"></a>
            <div class="grpelem" id="u4433"><!-- image -->
             <img id="u4433_img" src="/images/n0060292x292.jpg" alt="" width="292" height="292" />
    This may be a problem that came in a previous release of Muse.  I have a few older examples where ALT text is produced, but it’s no longer updated if I update the Image Properties.

    I'm seeing the same problem. Looks like a bug to me. Any ideas as to how we can get this on Adobe's bug fix list?

    After intalling iOS5, doesn´t display all albuns of the artists, but all albuns are there when you list "albuns".
    e.g.: I have 5 Annie Lennox"s albuns. When I list "Artists", Annie Lennox only shows 3 albuns, but when I list "Albuns" I can find all the albuns.
    Same for many artits that doesn't appear in the list of "Artists".

    Well, I guess no one knew. I eventually found the answer. Go onto settings, music on your ipod and change the show artist by album one to off.

    How can I synchronize my iPhoto events? my iTunes doesn't read them and with the app Images in the iPad I can only find Photos, Albums, Faces and Places, not Events.

    I had a problem a couple of months ago when iPhotos suddenly rearranged the order of my Events (Why won't iPhoto let me arrange my photos?) .  I was told "Use albums not events - events are not a good way to organize - albums and folder are designed for organisation and are very flexible".
    Haha!  I should have paid attention and read between the lines!  My iPhotos were highly organised groupings - not according to date but the way I wanted them - and it was so easy to do!  I see now that if I had them all in albums, as per the Apple Apologist suggestion, I wouldn't have this unholy mess I have been left with just to make iPhone & iCloud users happy.  I am now going through Photos and making Albums (of what used to be in my Events)  ... maybe I'll get this finished before they do another non user friendly update!

    How to highlight the text within the raster Image?.
    Thanks, -Raj

    You can use a square highlight, but not a text highlight.

  • Javascript not working with 'Display as Text (does not saves state)'

    Hi,
    We have these following items in P3 of our application,
    P3_EDIT_ACCOUNT Display as Text (saves state)
    P3_USEFUL_LINKS Display as Text (saves state)
    P3_LAST_APPROVED Display as Text (saves state)
    P3_ARCHIVES Display as Text (saves state)
    And we are initializing these items in a pl/sql process under 'Page Rendering'
    For example,
    :P3_ARCHIVES := '<font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1">Archives</font></a><td> ';
    When our environment was upgraded from HTMLDB1.5 to HTMLDB2.0,
    instead of displaying the proper value of :P3_ARCHIVES,
    it was displaying the tags,
    i.e. instead of displaying 'Archives', it was displaying the whole
    '<font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="-1">Archives</font></a><td> '
    So, when we changed all items to 'Display as Text (does not saves state)' and it was working.
    But then we have another problem,
    We render the rest of the same page with another pl/sql block,
    Here is a portion from that pl/sql for your reference,
    htp.p('
    <script>
    //Script to check the status change.
    //The script source is rendered through PL/SQL.
    function checkStatus()
    var promptStr = someString;
    if(ans.toUpperCase() == "AMBER" || ans.toUpperCase() == "RED")
              var cnfm = confirm(promptStr);
              if(cnfm)
              do something....
    </script>
    htp.print('
    <td width="5%" bgcolor="#ebebc5" height="19" align="middle" >
    <input TYPE="radio" name="'||l_g_fnumber||'" value="GREEN"');
    IF l_allow_update THEN
         htp.print(' onClick="checkStatus()"');
    ELSE
    htp.print(' disabled onmousedown="return false;"');
                        do something....
    Now the issue is , when we changed all items to 'Display as Text (does not saves state)', the checkStatus() function is not getting called in the onClick
    event of the radio button and hence the confirm window for the call to
    confirm(promptStr) is not coming up.
    But if we revert back the items to 'Display as Text (saves state)',
    the checkStatus() javascript function is getting called properly but html tags are displayed against the items instead of the proper value (as mentioned in ********)
    Please do let us know a possible solution to this issue.
    Thanks & Regards-
    Rupak
