Javascript h:commandButton issue.

I am having an issue with the following JSF jsp which basically pops up an alert window to confirm deletion. Now the issue is once in a while the backing bean delete action is not called. This is not occuring all the time. Here is the jsp for the command button
<h:form>....
     <h:commandButton value="#{msgs['view.add.delete']}"
     action="#{DynamicEditBean.delete}" onclick="return window.confirm('Are you sure you want to delete this content?')"/>
</h:form>Am I doing something wrong here ? Any suggestions ?
Forgot to add that I am using the JSF runtime with IBM Rational App Developer 6.0.1.

No the CommandButton is part of a h:form (edit form) which has a delete button to delete the current record. The interesting part is that for all other value bindings the input field value attribute is not reset... e.g.
                  HtmlInputText iText = new HtmlInputText();
                  iText.setSize(Integer.parseInt(attrInfo.getMinValue()));
          iText.setMaxlength(attrInfo[i].getMaxValue());
          String bind = "#{DynamicEditBean.datafieldMap['" + fieldName+ "']}";
          iText.setValueBinding("value",app.createValueBinding(bind));
the html code on refresh of the page is <input id="viewPC_7_0_7K0_:_id0:ID77" type="text" name="viewPC_7_0_7K0_:_id0:ID77" value="gmail" maxlength="200" size="50" />
Just for the HtmlInputHidden value is reset.. <input id="viewPC_7_0_7K0_:_id0:IDHiddenRow" type="hidden" name="viewPC_7_0_7K0_:_id0:IDHiddenRow" />
Any ideas..

  • Crystal Report 2008 / JavaScript hyperlink formula/ Issue

    Hi,
    We've developed the Crystal Report using the Crystal Reports 2008 software & integrated it in asp.net web page and also deployed in IIS web server. We have a requirement like opening the sub report in a new window. We have integrated the sub report also in a asp.net web page & passing the parameters in URL & acheived it..
    For the above, we have used JavaScript code like "javascript:window.open('SubReport.aspx','...','..' ...)" in the hyperlink formula field of main report. It works fine while running using VS 2005 in the development box.
    But in production serer (Windows 2003 server), the JS URL in the formula field is not working properly. Instead , it is rendered as a drill down JS url. Like javascript:bobj.event.publish('drilldown',........)
    Can you please help us to resolve this issue?
    (OR) Do we have any other approach to open the web page in new window from CR (same like a popup window)
    Thanks

    I understand that the point of this is to allow the URL link to open the Subreport.aspx page in a new window. This can be problematic due to cross-site scripting restrictions. A few years ago we found that it was possible for report writers to add JavaScript to reports. This isn't a problem if the report writers are honest and nice. However, it is possible for JavaScript to be malicious so that ability to include JavaScript was turned off when the app uses our webform viewers. There may be a way to turn it off in the registry though. This is documented for CR XI r2 [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_boj_erq/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do].
    I am not sure if this reg key works for the .NET viewer, though the note specifies DHTML and .NET InfoView, so CR should work also. As you are using CR 2008, I suspect the key would be:
    HKLMSoftwareBusiness ObjectsSuite 12.0Crystal Reports
    You will most likely have to add the Export folder, then add the HTML folder, then add the EncodeHTMLForSingleLineFieldObjects and set it to "no".
    Please note that this is a hack / workaround found for CR XI r2. The functionality you are looking to exploit was removed for a reason. As such if the above does not work for CR 2008, it will not be considered to be a "bug" and we will not be able to send this to R&D for a resolution.

  • Can I create a form that doesn't trigger Acrobat's JavaScript disabled / security issues warning?

    Hello,
    Can I create a pdf that doesn't trigger Acrobat's JavaScript is currently disabled and this document uses it for some features.  Enabling JavaScript can lead to potential security issues.
    I even get this error when I create a blank pdf.
    I'm not using any JavaScript in the form and the nature of the message might tend to be a bit scary to some people since it mentions enabling JS can lead to potential security issues.  I basically want to disable the messaging of a feature I'm not even using.
    Anyone know if this is possible and if so, how I go about it?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
    I too share your frustration!!
    Unfortunately I do not have a complete answer for you.
    From the start I must say that Stefan Cameron has been very helpful (http://forms.stefcameron.com/2010/01/14/acrobatreader-9-3-now-available/), however I have not had sufficient time available to deal with the issue (or find a satisfactory resolution).
    The original post that Srini shared with you related to an XFA form that had FormCalc and Javascript in it. I will now share with you another situation that is closer to your experiences.
    Sometimes where we have a complex solution/form, we often give our users a PDF with instructions and demonstrations. We generate these using Adobe products:
    LiveCycle Designer ES to generate the solution/form;
    Captivate to record the demonstration (.swf);
    Acrobat to package it up in a static PDF.
    The screen shots below are from a PDF that includes written instructions and six Flash (.swf) files. The PDF does NOT include fields/form objects and does NOT include any FormCalc or Javascript.
    One of the big sells in Acrobat 9 was that Adobe had fully integrated Flash (Adobe product, ex. Macromedia) into Acrobat 9. This mean that .swf files could run natively inside a PDF. Brilliant!!!  The website today is still pushing this message, for example:
    Now bear in mind that the following screenshots are from a PDF that does not contain any scripting - its sole purpose is to "inform" the user, "look as good as the work I put into it", incorporate instruction and "multimedia" in a "single polished file" and I should be "confident that my audience will be able to view my work exactly as intended".
    Not so!!
    When the user now opens the form, all looks OK. No warning. They can read the instructions and scroll down to the multimedia (.swf files).
    However when the user clicks on the multimedia, the yellow bar appears:
    I go through the "trust" process:
    And the PDF looks like it is OK, no yellow bar. When I click on the multimedia, it begins to play - yes!! BUT ONLY FOR A SECOND OR TWO AND THEN IT STOPS AND GOES BACK TO THE START - AGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!. I would apologise for shouting, but this is beyond frustration. The work in capturing six screencasts in Captivate, annotating them, publishing to .swf and packaging up in Acrobat has been a complete waste of time. Worse than that I now have several PDFs out there, that do not work. Good advertisement for my business? I don't think so!!
    The document that Stefan provided (Managing JavaScript Execution in the Acrobat Family of Products) does not mention Flash/.swf as being a problem. However I would recommend that you go through this document, as it may help you.
    So, where to now? I don't know. The previous posts and Stefan's responses have several urls that may help. You should maybe consider logging your experiences as a bug (log at Adobe).
    In the meantime good luck,
    Niall
    UPDATE:
    This behaviour (.swf playing for only a few seconds) happens in PDFs where the .swf is inserted as legacy media to run in earlier versions of Acrobat/Reader. In this case Acrobat/Reader is making an external call to Flash Player. Hence the yellow bar. However it does not explain why the Flash video still does not play when trusted.
    If the .swf is added into the PDF as Flash media to run on Acrobat 9 and above, then it works without displaying the yellow warning bar.
    So maybe any feature of your PDF that calls an external resource is likely to show the yellow warning bar.

  • AIR webkit javascript/something(?) issue

    I'm running into an issue running an application inside of AIR, testing with Spinr. I want to access Splunk, which has a web-based searching and administrative interface. I've been using http;//interop.demo.splunk.com as a quick and dirty test base.
    If I access the demo in Spinr (http://spinr.raysquare.com/download ), which is AIR-based, there are multiple noteworthy (and obvious) limitations - after logging in, if you hit <enter> in the search bar (or click search) to search for any matching value, there's a timeline view and a scrolling effect that don't function.
    If I access the same demo in Chrome 1.x or 2.x (which have earlier and later webkit versions) and Firefox (obviously entirely different), the same features work (others have also accessed them with Safari). They seem to be javascript related, perhaps deeper, thankfully I don't have that level of knowledge about how the application functions
    I'm not sure if I should just report a bug or what, since I'm not sure what the issue actually is - but it seems specific to something in the AIR version of webkit, not webkit itself (given that Chrome's 1.x user agent reports an earlier version by number).
    It seems there wasn't a webkit update between AIR 1.5.0 and 1.5.1, and I'm not sure when to expect the next one - that might resolve my issue without major additional effort.
    Input welcome - a resource, more information, possible knowledge about what it could be so I could provide Splunk with more info to possibly develop a workaround...

    Hi,
    We usually update WebKit in AIR for major releases. That's why there are no major differences (besides those mentioned in release notes - mostly bug fixes) between AIR 1.5 and AIR 1.5.1
    There is a javascript error in that application that is preventing the timeline to load correctly under AIR 1.5.1 (it seems to work with AIR 1.1). That makes me think it may be a WebKit issue in the version that AIR 1.5.1 uses.
    Next major AIR release is going to have a newer version of WebKit. Though I can't give you much details on when it's going to come out.
    Best regards,

  • Integrating Oracle Forms 11g with JavaScript - keystrokes support issues

    This article
    http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/forms/11g/jsinteg/formsjsinteg/setup.htm
    shows the JavasriptIntegration with Oracle Forms.
    I am trying to navigate out of Oracle Forms Java Applet with separateFrame=false to access an external menu using JavaScript. I can't find a way to navigate out of Oracle Forms. My focus stays inside the currently opened form and the applet does not lose the focus.
    I need to access any external UI component by shifting the focus form the Java Applet to that components using only key strokes.
    Thanks for your help

    Vikas,
    Sorry for the delay. I am still investigating this. In general, it would appear as I mentioned. If the form that contains the code specific to the event monitoring has not been run, then it cannot be executed. We are trying to get clarification on the definition of "scope" in this case. In the mean time, one alternative might be to subclass the related triggers/pu and include them in all of the forms where you want them to fire. Currently I am suspecting that scope refers to a relationship to forms currently running. For example if you have form A, B, and C running a scope of "form" might suggest that the events are only monitored if the current form includes the necessary code. However, if "application" then even if the form containing the necessary code is not the current form, the necessary code would fire anyway. Again, I am trying to get more clarification, but it is slow coming.
    If this is truely an urgent issue, I encourage you to create a Service Request with Oracle Support.

  • Swap Image Looks fine in Firefox, not Safari? Can Javascript be an issue in Safari?

  • Shockwave to Javascript - character encoding issue !

    Hi !
    I have resigned from sending messages from JavaScript to
    Shockwave movie
    as I have found all existing methods unreliable (at worst
    scenario Flash
    blocker is installed and using localConnection trick with
    Flash gateway
    fails).
    But in the consequence, I have to send message (a search
    string) from
    Shockwave to JavaScript.
    That seems easy with the following Lingo:
    goToNetPage("javascript:void myJSfunction('" & aString
    But the problem is with encoding possible non-ASCII
    characters.
    I presume the browser page is using charset=UTF-8.
    Any idea how to properly encode 'aString' so it will preserve
    non-ASCII
    characters while being transfered to JavaScript?
    It is really urgent!

  • JavaScript Links & Frames issue

    Hi,
    I have a DHTML Folder Tree, also known as a TreeView. That is, an expandable/collapsible tree of links.
    In a frame-less layout everything works great. In a frame-based layout, it doesn't work on Safari/Konqueror.
    There are two frames: the left frame contains the tree control; when you click on a link in the tree, the right frame is the target for the links in the tree.
    The tree mechanism itself works fine. But there is a problem with the links. What happens on Safari/Konqueror with the frame-based layout is the first link works fine, but all links after that do not. That is, the first click loads a picture on the right frame, but when I click on any other links after that, the target frame is not updated.
    Any ideas/suggestions/help would be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    FF.

    More information...
    The Web page in question is:
    http://www.treeview.net/tv/demo/demoFrameset.html
    Note that these links are HTML, constructed using JavaScript. Here are interesting/relevant portions of the code:
    // The code that constructs the href for the link:
    linkString = "href=\""this.link"\" target=\""this.target"\" onClick=\"clickOnLink('"this.getID()"\', '"this.link+"','"+this.target"');return false;\"";
    // The clickOnLink function
    clickOnLink(clickedId, target, windowName) {
    highlightObjLink(findObj(clickedId));
    if (isLinked(target)) {

  • JavaScript Plug-in issue

    I recently installed Photoshop CC 2014.  When trying to use the HDR toning feature, I receive the error message "Could not complete the HDR toning command because Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript plug-in."  Where do I find the correct plug-in?  I checked on Java's website, but could not find what I thought I needed.  Also, would this lack of plug-in be the reason the Lighting Effect feature is not working properly?

    Photoshop uses its own scripting support plugin not an external java.  Its ScriptingSupport plug-in should be in  each Photoshop version  required plug-ins extension folder or automate folder.

  • Javascript regular expression issue

    Hi,
    I am trying to use a javascript regular expression in my code
    var reg_exp = new RegExp("^([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{4})\s([0-9]{2})$");it works from outside of APEX but not being called from inside APEX. It is failing on the
    \sIs there some override or some reason why I cannot do this from inside APEX?
    Thanks in advance!

    Well I just changed it to
      var reg_exp = new RegExp("^([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{2})/([0-9]{4}) ([0-9]{2}):([0-9]{2})$");basically just replaced an actual space for \s and it works fine...

  • Commandbutton issues!!!

    Hi all.....
    I have the following code:
                                  <h:form id = "buttonForm">
                                       <h:commandButton value="userEdit" id="userEditButton" action="userEdit"/>
                                  </h:form>     and the following mapping in the faces config file:

              <navigation-case>
                   <from-outcome>userEdit</from-outcome>
                   <to-view-id>/admin/users/userEdit.jsp</to-view-id>
              </navigation-case>
         </navigation-rule>
    But when I click on the button..... instead of going to the userEdit page.... it seems as though it's submitting back into the current page. And since one of the data tables on the current page is requires a parm thats in the request... (which isn't there anymore) it throws up.
    So, my question is.... why is it coming back to the current page?
    Thanks!

    It is one of the most popular problem. People believe it is about navigation, but it is not, mainly.
    put <h:messages /> somewhere on the page for the testing purpose and see do you have any validation or conversion error. It helps very ofter to find the source of the problem faster.

  • Issue with Download and Loss of Non-ASCII Characters

    I have a need to allow my user to download the contents of an HTML Region as a file. This region contains some Greek letters, i.e. non-ASCII, used with some common finance formulas.
    I am able to copy the contents off this region using JavaScript without any issue.
    Moreover, I can copy the contents from JavaScript into a Page Item and then render the region with PL/SQL. Again, this works without an issue.
    However, when I try to download the region, the Greek letters are lost in the downloaded document. Instead they are replaced with this weird series of characters: (Δ
    I've created a sample app to demonstrate this problem at apex.oracle.com:
    URL: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=34765:1
    UID: GUEST_DEV
    PWD: greeksgone
    Click the button labeled "Copy HTML Via JS" and you will see the statically populated region copied into the second region.
    Click the button labeled "Copy HTML Via APEX" and you will see the statically populated region copied into the third region. This is achieved by copying the HTML into a Page Item and then submitting the page. When the page returns, the value of this Page Item is then used to populate the third region. As you can see, the Greek letters are there as normal.
    However, if you click the "Download HTML" button you will see the the Greek letters are not present in the resulting file.

    I am just totally stuck here.
    This is what the document looks like without the required meta tag:
    <HTML>
    <BODY>
    <STYLE>
    <DIV>
    div.riskScenarioMatrixDiv
    overflow:auto;
    ....This version does not display the greek letters.
    If I could simply add this one meta tag in, everything would work beautifully:
    <HTML>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8">
    <BODY>
    <STYLE>
    <DIV>
    div.riskScenarioMatrixDiv
    overflow:auto;
    ....However, I have tried every combination I can think of in the code block but, any time that I add that meta tag, I get a *404 Page Not Found* error.
    The only thing standing between what we have and what we need is getting that meta tag in the output but, I just can't seem to find a way to do this. Actually, we'd really like to have, within the head tags; the meta tag, the style and the title but, not being able to get that meta tag in is the difference between acceptable and broken. It works with the others in the body.

    You appear to be confusing HTTP and HTML.
    The HTTP header != HTML <tt>head</tt> element.
    HTP.META( 'Content-Type',  null, 'text/html; charset=utf-8' );
    HTP.TITLE( ls_RiskMatrixTitle );  This generates HTML content. It does not go in the HTTP header. You should be generating an HTML <tt>head</tt> element containing this (and the <tt>style</tt> element) between <tt>HTP.HTMLOPEN</tt> and <tt> HTP.BODYOPEN</tt>.
    Also note that these web toolkit methods generate really obsolete HTML, therefore I never use them (and nor does APEX these days).
    Don't have time to get more into this now...

  • PDF and Javascripting

    I am using Adobe Acrobat 5.0.
    I am having two issues.
    Issue 1:
    A javascript code is written such that when a hyper link is clicked
    the code will make a specific bookmark to automatically expand or
    collapse. Each time the link is clicked the book mark
    expands/collapses as expected but the child within the bookmark
    gets deleted for every click! When all the children of the bookmark
    gets deleted again the child names are listed in full. How to
    correct this.
    Code:
    var bmark = bookmarkRoot.children[0];
    //following command will expand the specific bookmark.
    bmark.children[0].open=true;
    //in the above-specified bookmark I have 4 children (topics). Each
    time the link is clicked, the bookmark expands but the children get
    deleted.
    Normally we can create hyperlinks in PDF through "Link Properties".
    Is it possible to create hyperlinks through javascript?
    When a hyperlink is clicked a specific bookmark is called to view
    its contents. This is OK when dealing with one or two bookmarks. In
    case of more than 10 bookmarks Is it possible to bring the bookmark
    (say 15th bookmark that is not in view) directly to focus through
    javascript code.
    Issue 2: Index
    Using Index wizard I generated the index for the PDF. But I don't understand how to call or use this index (.pdx) file in my document.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Yes, I am attaching a sample PDF here.
    In this document,
    1. The hyperlink is provided for "jargon for technical writing" in the right side. The javascript code is written for this link.
    2. The "New Bookmark" has 3 children. Initially it is shown in collapsed state.
    3. Click the hyperlink to expand the "New Bookmark". In the first instance all the three child bookmarks under "New Bookmark" are shown.
    4. Now, collapse the "New Bookmark" and again click the hyperlink. Only two child bookmarks will be shown.
    Again collapse and try only one child is shown.
    5. After that you try again all the 3 children appear again and the cycle repeats.
    the javascript code is (sample):
    var bmark = bookmarkRoot.children[0];
    //following command will expand the specific bookmark.
    bmark.children[0].open=true;
    Please Help!!
    Also: Is it this possible - when a link is clicked, the page is shown but I want the bookmark also brought into the focus on the left hand side pane.
    thanks and regards,
    Krishna
