Javascript invalidated by Muse JS Include

Question

I'm trying to include a javascript function in a Muse page which will fade an image with class="greyScale" to B/W and then go color onmouseover.

The function runs in regular html page tests, but apparently MUSE auto includes some JS which invalidates the function, making it not run.
Any suggestion on how to make them play nice?

The easiest way to accomplish a timed fade in/out (or any other time-based animations) is to create it in Edge Animate and place the .oam file into Muse (rather than attempting to hand code a solution that reaches into and interacts with the Muse generated code).
