Javascript iWebmore RSS IDK

I was wondering if anyone knew how to embed javascript into iWeb, I have tried iWebMore and it is not working for me.
Thanks!

Thanks for the response, I found via another post a website called http://www.rss-to-javascript.com/ and I got java code from it and I would like to include it into my iweb site.
This is the code I want to put into iweb:
<script language="JavaScript" src="http://convert.rss-to-javascript.com/?num=5&src=http%3A%2F%2Fnews.google.c om%2Fnwshp%3Fhl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial %26tab%3Dwn%26q%3D%26output%3Drss">
</script><noscript>Your browser does not support JavaScript. Click to read the latest news.</noscript>
Thanks for helping!

  • SketchUp Kuler Plugin

    Hello,
    I am a hobby programmer. SketchUp has support for using a web
    browser as a user interface. I thouhgt it would be cool to have a
    Kuler plugin that could browse the Kuler feeds, and insert a scheme
    into SketchUp's "In Model" materials. I've created a proof of
    concept and i know it will work.
    My first question is - is there a good javascript library to
    read and parse the feed? I feel like I'm beating my head against a
    wall trying to use some code I found on the Internet.

    As the Kuler Feed is essentially RSS witha tad of extra
    kukler namespace in it, you could probably start with a
    Javscrip/AJAX RSS parser... here is a link to get you started:
    http://www.google.com/search?q=javascript+parse+rss&amp;ie=utf-8&amp;oe=utf-8&amp;aq=t&amp ;rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&amp;client=firefox-a

  • Skin.properties script index

    My attempts to utilize the index attribute for scripts, within the skin.properties file have failed. My understanding is that I can index some, but am not required to index them all. Whenever I turn the index numbers on though, I get the error "An error has occured", with no further information. However, if I turn the index numbers off, the scripts are all pulled in, but not in the order I need them to be. I would really appreciate some guidance as to where it is I'm going wrong, as I'm sure it's probably something quite basic and obvious that I'm just missing.

    Hi Satish,
    Try checking the value of the property
    link.search.path
    in skin.properties and combine it with the value you've given to
    link.body.href
    for your css, and make sure the combined path matches the location of your css

  • Looking for RSS html plug-in (javascript?)

    HI - I am looking for a reference for a plug in that would allow me to show on a client's website an RSS feed to a blog we've set up.  I am looking for a plug in that I would purchase once... or only have a one time license.
    So, the end result would be -- any time the blog updates, the RSS on the home page will indicate the new blog item.
    I have found some free options out there... but do not want a credit line on the bottom and do not want to pay a yearly fee (like http://www.rssinclude.com) is looking for...
    Ideas are welcomed!
    Thank you in advance!

    RSS is made up of XML. Spry, the JavaScript framework that ships with Dreamweaver CS4+ knows how to handle XML. So putting 2 and 2 together, you can use Spry to build a little section that reads in the most current items of the RSS feed. To manage what items get shown, you'll have to tweak the RSS feed settings (or whatever you have in the backend creating the RSS feed). Hope this helps you in the right direction.

  • Popup menus not working on pages with RSS feed javascript

    My popup menus were working OK until I added an RSS feed to
    the page that
    uses javascript to parse the feed. Has anyone else
    experienced this? Or
    found a way to parse the RSS feed and still have the popup
    menus work?

    Perhaps, if you post a link to the page that doesn't work,
    someone can
    show you how to fix it.

  • I am trying to create a RSS feed from scratch

    Okay so I want to create a RSS feed with these two links:
    http://www.networkcomputing.com/rss.php
    and
    http://www.voip-news.com/rss/vnar.xml
    I have checked out different widgets and what not but I want to create this from scratch.

    <description>Virtualization security companies Hytrust and Catbird will offer integrated compliance reporting that encompasses the hypervisor-host and network environment down through the virtual machine level. So I created a button on my home page, and it is linked to this XML file. Everything works great except it only shows the item that I coded in...I want it to show ALL items.
    Can I do this without having to input each item individually?
    Is this how I should do it anyways with a button linking to this xml file?
    I really want to have like 3-5 of the posts to auto update on my home page but I dont know how to embed the RSS into my HTML home page file.
    Also, the way I have it coded, will it automatically update the new posts?
    or do I have to wait for the new post and input the item into the xml file?
    I am very new to the RSS feed so please help.
    Thanks,

  • How can I call a web service using JAVAscript in LCD

    hi guys,
         I know it can call a WSDL in LCD, but I have not any WSDL web service , and I have a REST web service ,how can I call this REST web service in LCD? I checked some documents and found nothing...if it's possible that it can call a REST web service using JAVAScript code, I mean I can program some code to call this web service ?
    thanks,
    Jesse

    Hi Jesse,
    You can do GET, PUT and POST using FormCalc, so you should be able to access a REST web service.
    There is a example of accessing a RSS feed in this thread, http://forums.adobe.com/message/5695433#5695433

  • Using Flash variable in Javascript problem

    I want Flash to load a rss feed and hand it to Javascript
    which will do the parsing and rendering. AFAIK Javaswcript can't
    load external documents and include them into the current html page
    for some security reasons. So I try this approach.
    I attached the code I have. My Problem is that Flash does
    pass the variable to javascript but the document.write overwrites
    everything else in the current html document.
    I don't want to work with popups for obvious reasons. The
    variable must be included in the _current_ document.
    Can anyone give me a hint how to get this working properly?

    What is happening is the XML file is getting cached by the browser.
    There are a few different ways to fix this, but this is what I have found to be the easiest.
    In the Actionscript, where the call to load the xml is, append a random string to the end of the call.
    so:
    (This is AS2 code - so a conversion is necessary if using AS3)
    myXML.load("http://path/to/xml.xml?r="+Math.round(Math.random()*99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999));
    What this will do is tell the browser that you are calling a unique file every time you try to load the xml, which will forcefully bypass the cached version.

  • Safari 5.1.5 (Windows) RSS unread count no longer working

    With the previous version of Safari under Windows 7(SP1) the 'unread count' for the RSS feed bookmarks were only updated when Safari was restarted. This was bad enough, but now with Safari 5.1.5 they don't appear at all.
    I've even gone so far as removing every bit of Apple software (Safari, iTunes, iCloud, Mobile Me, Bonjour etc), removed all data in the user profile, rebooted a couple of times and completely reinstalled Safari iCloud and iTunes but still not working.
    I've been Googling about it but I couldn't find much about it, only confirmation of my previous problem (the need to restart Safari to update the counts)
    Am I the only one with this problem? Any suggestions?
    Thx, Tim

    @sean0826 -- this is why you don't use Java menus. Even javascript menus are a bad idea; you need to have a secondary menu system ANYTIME you have a menu system that requires a plugin or scripting to be active. NOT EVERYONE browses with that stuff on.
    The only thing you can do for now is FTP to your site and add in static menus (like we did in the "old days" at the bottom of the page; or rip out the Java Menus and install static or CSS versions.
    BTW where are you rmenus supposed to be. I have opera, safari, ff, and a few others. they all look the same. So if that's true, it's the plugin that's the problem, not safari.
    In Opera Pogo.com works. java loads, the game is there. It does have some drawing issues but not surprised.
    In Safair Pogo works fine. Just played a game of chess.

  • RSS, WAP, Google SiteMap etc. in APEX 3.1?

    Hi,
    just retrying after awhile. Generation of RSS feeds, WAP pages or Google SiteMap hints worked well via application processes invoked by links like http://site/pls/htmldb/f?p=9774:::APPLICATION_PROCESS=RSS in APEX 2.x.
    Are there any hints how to get it work in 3.x? Links like http://site/pls/htmldb/f?p=9774:::APPLICATION_PROCESS=RSS open the application home page, links like http://site/pls/htmldb/f?p=9774:101:0:APPLICATION_PROCESS=RSS return nothing.
    Roman

    I think my issue is with this AJAX script.
    <script language="JavaScript1.1" type="text/javascript">
    function getUserList()
    var ajaxRequest = new htmldb_Get(null,&APP_ID.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=getUsers',0);
    ajaxRequest.add('P200_SEARCH',html_GetElement('P200_SEARCH').value);
    ajaxResult = ajaxRequest.get();
         if(ajaxResult)
              html_GetElement('UserListDiv').innerHTML = ajaxResult
    else
              html_GetElement('UserListDiv').innerHTML = 'null'
         ajaxRequest = null;
    </script>
    1) I ran this past Firebug, no error reported in console when I type something in P200_SEARCH text box.
    2) I triple checked the application process getUsers and ran it independently in SQL Workshop and there was nothing wrong with it.
    Really at loss what's wrong and how to go on about fixing it. This is my first foray into AJAX. I do understand what the code is doing but fail to see why its not yeilding any result.
    Would be grateful is someone can give me any pointers to what the issue might be.

  • Spry RSS Feed widget works in IE but not Firefox or Chrome

    I've been trying to use the Spry RSS Feed widget (6/9/2011 - via the Widget Browser) to feed a Wordpress blog I have onto my site.  I customized the widget and installed the widget to my page, but it only works in IE (Version 8), and not in Firefox (9.0./1) or Chrome (16.0.912.63 m).  I thought maybe I had something conflicting with it on my page, so I even tried inserting into a completely blank page, but I get the same results.
    I've scoured the web for options to get this feed onto my site, and found PHP solutions, and a bunch of other tools, but I'm not much of a coder, and haven't been able to get them to work at all.
    I'm using CS 5.5
    Any recommendations?

    var ds1 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("http://rss.cnn.com/rss/cnn_topstories.rss", "rss/channel/item");
    ds1.setColumnType("description", "html");

    The problem is that XML data cannot be transmitted cross domain.
    This example, http://pleysier.com.au/rss/, uses Spry.Data.YQLDataSet to overcome the limitation, see here https://github.com/3rd-Eden/Spry-YQL-DataSet

  • How do I make sure that google reader launches whenever I click on an RSS feed icon (to add a new feed)?

    Right now, when I click to add a new rss feed (using the icon up in the search bar), it automatically launches yahoo, which drives me crazy. I want to CHANGE the setting so that it automatically launches google reader. Please advise!

    See http://lifehacker.com/392287/set-firefox-3-to-launch-gmail-for-mailto-links
    Set the pref gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost to true on the about:config page.
    Run this javascript code via copy and paste to the location bar and press the Enter key to run the code.
    <code>navigator.registerProtocolHandler('mailto','https://mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s','Gmail');</code>
    Do not forget to reset the pref gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost to false after you have added Gmail.
    To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • Rss feed folder won't upload in iweb

    I know that you cannot have a space in the name of a file that is used in your website because it won't upload.  So instead you need to use a _ or just make the file name one word like "picofme" instead of "pic of me".  I used the included RSS widget to put my blog into my iweb website.  It displays fine in iweb.  I published the site to a folder so that i could upload it to my site (hosted by yahoo) via Cyberduck or Filezilla.  Everything uploads expet for the RSS blog widget.  The space where the feed should appear is blank on my published site.  As I'm uploading my site files everything uploads except for these errors:
    Scripts/Widgets/RSS Feed/arrow-link.png: No such file or directory.
    Scripts/Widgets/RSS Feed/error-glyph.png: No such file or directory.
    Scripts/Widgets/RSS Feed/Icon.png: No such file or directory.
    blackoutrecordings/Scripts/Widgets/RSS Feed/localizedStrings.js: No such file or directory.
    /Scripts/Widgets/RSS Feed/RSS-placeholder-default.png: No such file or directory.
    It all seems to be related to the RSS Feed folder.  How can i fix this?  I tried renaming the folder before i uploaded and it didn't help either.
    thanks you!

    I just used the code they gave me & plugged it into a HTML Snippet
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://output84.rssinclude.com/output?type=js&id=411293&hash=a8a6a8054cb7b82b437 63b4527adf319"></script>

  • Linking to a Specific Spry panel (modified for RSS Reader)

    Hi – I would like to implement the following tutorial however have it work for the Spry Framework RSS Reader: http://foundationphp.com/tutorials/spry_url_utils.php
    I understand the concept of this article and have been able to implement the solution up to step 4 however for my solution I am not working with tabbed panels or an accordion widget but the RSS Reader from the latest Spry Framework. I would like to have a specific feed and article selected on the page depending on what link the user has come from.
    So instead of working with the tabbed panel and accordion variables I would be using the variables:
    var dsCategories
    var dsFeeds
    var dsChannel
    var dsArticles
    I would like to know if anyone can assist me in modifying the solution to suit this scenario? or if it is even possible?
    Thanks.
    Michael.

    Hi Ben,
    Thanks for pointing me to this tutorial.
    To keep things easier for myself I have kept the variable name as row. I have added the following code to the head of my called page:
    On lines 9-10:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="js/SpryURLUtils.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript"> var params = Spry.Utils.getLocationParamsAsObject();</script>
    On lines 19-26:
    //define the data set
                var ds1 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("data/LocalFeeds.xml", "feeds/feed");
                //get the url parameter for the row number
                var params = Spry.Utils.getLocationParamsAsObject();
                //set an observer so that when the data is loaded, we update the current row to the url param value
                ds1.addobserver({ onPostLoad: function(ds, type) {
                                                                                                                                ds1.setCurrentRow(params.row); }
    Currently my called page is still not loading in the wanted state with calling page passing the parameter row=2.
    I aren’t sure what I am still missing but think it is perhaps something to do with setting the spry:region and spry:repeat to equal ds1? But not sure where I should be placing this.
    Am I nearly there?
