Javascript not working unless user double clicks
I'm working on a redesign of a site. On the FAQ page, there is a javascript. You are supposed to click on the Q to reaveal the A. On the dev site you have to doubleclick. This is wrong.

The issue is because on the dev site the hidden answers have all been given a class Afaq which has css of display:none which hides all the answers on page load. Whereas the other site there is no class on the answers div, but all the answers have inline styling to hide them.
The javascript works by changing the inline styling of the answer div... the first time it is clicked on the dev site it doesn't find any inline styling so sets some to display none, so that on the second click it begings working again!
so the simplest solution would be either to alter the javascript to change the css class, or to remove the class and add inline styling like on the live site.
Compare the two sites with a tool like firebug for firefox and you should see the difference in HTML markup and the javascript changing the inline styling.

When user double-clicks on a file, then I want my program to open it...
Ok, so I have been having a lot of trouble finding the answer to what I at first thought was a simple question.
I do not know, at all, how to make my program able to open files in the normal sense. Normal sense meaning user double-clicks my_file.xxx, or for that matter right-clicks my_file.xxx and selects open with, and then my_app.jar starts up and opens the file.
I have already created the app, and it runs nicely. This app has a menu bar with the usual File >> Open which works just fine reading my_file.xxx. My_app.jar can also saves my_file.xxx. So I am not having trouble with I/O.
So if someone can give me even the slightest hint in the right direction I'd be very thankful.
p.s. I am working on a mac but my_app.jar will be running mostly on windows so cross-platform is very important.Actually, I was more wondering what kind of code I
need to add to my program to make it possible at all.
My file input and output is all done from a Utilites
class which I made but quite obviously any OS will

as possible with a normal person's desktop.I'm sorry, you're right, I completely misread your post. I would definitely take the tactic of writing a .reg file and executing it. That seems to be the accepted way of creating registry entries on Java if you have to do such a thing.
Here is a link to the type of .reg file you're going to need to associate a file with a certain program, and you'll need to modify it slightly to do a 'java -jar myJar' type of thing. Then, just point Runtime.getRuntime().exec() at it, and you should be good to go.
The only thing I'd be worried about is how to find the JAVA_HOME. If you launched your installer via WebStart (or had the user double-click the jar for the first time), though, you could just use
System.getProperty("java.home"); -
Project locks up when user double clicks click box
I have a series of practice questions in my Captivate 5 projects that use click boxes to select the question's answers. The project pauses at the click boxes (which all appear at the same time), and a feedback caption appears. A second later, a continue button appears. The project again pauses until the user clicks the continue button. Then the project goes to the next slide. My problem is that when the user double clicks a click box, or clicks it right when it appears (the cursor changes from arrow to a hand), the continue button does not appear.
I am just considering deleting the continue button but my intent there was to allow as much time as the user needed to read the feedback captions after clicking the click box. Any help on this is appreciated.

Hundreds of my iPhoto pictures will not be copied and will not show when I double-click on them. When I do in iPhoto an exclamation surrounded by a triangle appears. Though I can see the picture in the small tiles below it will not expand. I also cannot attach any of these pics into an e-mail or into any other file. I have already went through all 3 Repair options and when that did not solve it went through a complete Rebuild. Any Help?! Any Suggestions on how to fix this?! If the database is corrupted then rebuilding is the solution - backup and depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild your database -- if the iPhoto rebuild does not cure the problem then download iPhoto Library manager and use its rebuild command which creates a totally new library leaving the existing one untouched
If you have deleted the photos then you need to start over with a new library and import the photos you have not deleted into it
You can select one of the problem photos and use the reveal original in finder commander (file menu) to see if the original is there - if it is a finder window will open showing it

When I try to open a link on any page/website Firefox does not open the link. It doesn't even "work" at opening the link, it just sits idling. I have to right click and choose "open link in new tab/window" in order for Firefox to open the link. It doesn't happen 100% of the time but happens especially if there is a button or picture that must be clicked. Simple text links seem to work more often then button or picture links. One example provided below. When you click on the "launch Jumpstart" button it will not open unless you right click & open new. This also happens from my Yahoo! Email account, on Facebook, Cructhfield.com and other websites with "button" related links.
I have the same problem but it appears that an add-on I'm using is causing the problem. Try opening Firefox in safe mode (which disables add-ons) Then try it. If that solves the problem, you need to disable all your add ons and enable them one by one to figure out which one(s) is causing the problem.

Help! Javascript not working when object moved from one page to another!
Hello all:
I am new to Adobe Livecycle Designer (version 8.0). I have created a 3 page interactive pdf form with numerous objects (text fields, radio buttons, drop-down boxes, etc.), that our business wants to begin using soon.
I am having difficulty with some of my Javascript not working with a few of my objects on page 2 of the form. Specifically, there is a drop-down box for "Country" on page 2 of my form. When the user selects, for example, "United States" from the list, I have Javascript that is supposed to change the "Currency" drop-down box rawValue to "US Dollars" accordingly (upon the change event).
I think my Javascript syntax is proper, but I am not certain. Here is my simple Javascript associated with the "Country" drop-down box (Note: rawValue 80 = "United States" and rawValue 105 = "US Dollars"):

This seems pretty straight forward and it WORKS when my "Country" drop-down box is moved to page 1 of the form, but it WILL NOT WORK when I move the "Country" drop-down box back to page 2 of the form (which is where it belongs).
Does anyone have any suggestions or solutions? I have spent probably 6-8 hours racking my brain trying to figure out why it works when on one page, but it does not work when move to a different page. I am guessing that I may have corrupted something OR that I am not fully addressing the proper name of the object?
Please help!

Unfortunately, I am still having issues with getting Javasript for the cmbCountry object to work with the cmbCurrency object. I haved pasted my new Javascript below.

I have checked the "Specify Item Values" checkbox of the cmbCurrency drop-down object and Value 1 = "US Dollars" and Value 2 = "Canadian Dollars".
When I select "Canada" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object is changed to "US Dollars" (when it is clearly defined as "Canadian Dollars"). When I select "United States" from the cmbCountry drop-down object, the rawValue of the cmbCurrency drop-down object stays blank for uknown reasons. Very strange.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

My requirement is to display asset details as a report and when user double clicks on the asset details, transaction AS03 need to be opened.

when user double click on Asset 1 of Company code 800, then transaction AS03 need to be triggerd. But when I use ATLine selection. I only get the Asset1....details in the sy-lisel. But I need Company code for triggering the AS03 transaction.
Please let me know any way of getting company code along with the Asset 1 ......

Javascript not working in any browser except Opera! Please help!
I don't know for what particular reason, javascript has stoppped working in all the browsers I have, (Safari, Firefox, Camino, OmniWeb,)except on Opera. Can anyone direct me in the right direction to solve this issue?
Ok...
1.) Unless it is a horribly designed site javascript not working would not prevent you from at least opening said site. You might not be able to use some of the features, or in the example of acual applications like gmail or then new yahoo mail you might not be able to use those at all since they are written soley for js. But for sites like VersionTracker it shouldnt make a difference.
2.) Javascript is an interpeted language run on the client - ie the web browser. There is nothing to install. its part of the web browser youre using. You can uninstall and reinstall the browser itself but javascript is not a seperate component or something that is shared across applications that utilize it.
Javascript is not the issue here at least in the case of versiontracker and 1010wins. I turned JAvascript off in my browser and visited both and they load jsut fine. Your eChalk mail might need js but i dont know about all that.
So.... what happens when you try to visit one of these sites in one of the problem browsers???? Do you get a balck white screen? A server Error message? a DNS error? Does the app crash? etc.. -
My iPhone will not work unless I plug it into my wall charger, It is fully charged but only works when it is plugged in to wall charger. When it is turned on it say "Restore needed iphone can not make or receive calls' i tried plugging it up to Itunes but it will not turn on to sync.
First try a hard reset, press and hold the power button and home buttons until the phone restarts and displays the Apple Logo, then let go.
If that doesn't work...
Try forcing recovery mode and then restore with iTunes.

My 'clear history button is not working. When I click on it it doesn't do anything and the letters are gray instead of blue like usual. I've gone to every type of settings I can think of but I don't know how to fix it. Please help .

I have used Firefox for over a year. For some reason it quit working and I can't seem to fix it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the download and it's still not working. When I click on the icon it says unable to connect.
Yes, if you repurchase it you may lose your progress. The exception would be a game that stored all your progress on a server under your ID

When I link to an external site, the link does not work, if I right click "Open in new tab" the link works.
I have not changed any of my preferences and they look like they are as I would have left them.
I tried resetting Firefox and deleting the preference file, no change.
By the way, I hate that the tabs are on top and not where they belong above the pages they are for. There should still be a way in Firefox to put them back without having to use an add-in. -
Default Dashboard not working after user login
Hi All,
We have one issue in 11.1.1.7.1 where PORTALPATH is not working for users. As a result, user lands on home page/recent page instead of the default dashboard after login.
I followed Doc ID 1576576.1 and Bug 17071629 - PORTALPATH SESSION VARIABLE IS INEFFECTIVE is reported. I applied patch 17071629 on top of 7.1. I have tried and verified that
· The URL we are using to login is “http://machinename:9704/analytics/saw.dll?bieehome&startPage=1”
· There is no Start Page set in user’s My Account other than Default.
· In Answers, the PORTALPATH session variable fetches correct dashboard path.
· I removed space in the dashboard name and tried with following path “/shared/Dashboard/_portal/PortalPathTest”. Also, assigned same default value to the session variable. I also tried “/Shared Folders/Dashboard/Dashboards/PortalPathTest” and “%2fshared%2fDashboard%2f_portal%2fPortalPathTest” but nothing works.
· lsinventory shows the patch got applied successfully.
One thing to notice -
1. Login url is: "http://machinename:9704/analytics/saw.dll?bieehome&startPage=1"
2. After login, browser URL gets changed to "http://http://scoreboard-sit.wellsfargo.com:9704/analytics/saw.dll?bieehomemachinename:9704/analytics/saw.dll?bieehome" and shows Home Page instead of default dashboard.
3. Now at this stage, if I append "&startPage=1" to the above step 2 URL in browser, it automatically navigates to correct default dashboard.
Also, This patch has fixed default dashboard in Act As. That means, If I act as a User, I land on correct default dashboard. But if same user actually logs in, s/he lands on home page.
I suspect if URL redirection after login is the actual issue. Please suggest if anyone has an idea.

There was a java script error related to an undefined object, "accessMode" in logon.js. This is related to Accessibility or Section 508 (checked by Developer Tools of IE). We may have removed this code from the logon page which was causing the error. We had customized the page quite a bit previously. When I ignore the error and step through, I go to the correct portal path page. So we are going to replace the logon.js file with backup and hopefully it will fix the issue.
