• Save as dialog box hides behind the dock

Ever since upgrading to Yosemite, the 'save as' dialog box will partly hide behind the dock. I can't see the 'save' nor the 'cancel' button.
Now I don't want the dock to auto hide, nor do I want to make it so small I can hardly see the icons, because when I do either of that I can of course see the buttons. I can therefore only cancel by pressing escape. Since that is not really efficient working for me, this minor issue annoys me to no end.
I use Word for Mac 2011 and have never had any issues with it before. This also only happens when creating Word documents in print mode view (changing the view makes the issue go away but when I go back to print mode view - which I have always used, the buttons are hidden behind the dock again!) I would appreciate any help ...

I have the same issue with Chrome, it's very annoying, especially since the "New Folder"-Button is hidden underneath the dock as well.
When placing the Dock on the left, the Dialog even disappears underneath the screen.

• Is it possible to make the document window not to hide behind the palettes?

Is it possible to make the document window not to hide behind the palettes (layers, paths etc) like in CS5? For instance if I want to make a correction in the right part of the image and zoom in, the window expand under the different palettes and I can no longer see the area which I want to correct without change the document window size. I don't want to use the Photoshop application fram because then I can't see stuff in other applications ID, mail an so on.

I have written about how to control various font sizes in Thunderbird here:
http://www.ramsden.org.uk/9_Type_sizes.html
Generally, you shouldn't need to zoom; you can pre-set the display of message text.
To get straight to the point, you should probably try the https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer/ add-on to address issues with the size of the message list font.

• Javascript popup insert within the body

simple question im sure, i have a basic javascript
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
alert ("This is a JavaScript ALERT box.")
// -->
</script>
however it needs to be inserted in the <head> however this is locked within the template and if I insert it there it will appear on all the pages under the template, i only what it to appear on one page.
thanks in advance

You can insert it as the first item after your <body> on that page and it should work the same way as in the header.

• Javascript window.open in BSP: new window is opened behind the main window

Hello,
I use following code to open a new window in my BSP application:
              window.open("<%= controller->display_url%>").focus();
The new windows is openned up, but hide behind the main window, I need the new window to stay at the front, any idea?
On one computer running IE7, the new windows is opened and stay at the front. But not for all other computers running IE6.

Hi,
          We used the below logic :
<htmlb:button id      = "help"
                        text    = "Help"
                        design  = "standard"
                        onClientClick = "window.open('http://www.sap.com')"
                        tooltip = "Help"
                        />
It worked fine for us.
Try this.
Thanks,

• Almost every time I open a new page, and that page has an ad with movement or video, the browser page hides behind other open pages. This is really annoying.

I don't see any evidence that this is malware. For instance i opened a page that was for a major newspaper from Dallas. As i reached my cursor to the page, it hid behind the other pages, and i had to now reach down to my taskbar to find it again. When i did, i saw an ad on the page with movement (flash?). Anyway, the ad was for breast cancer awareness, and was made by that newspaper, which is why i think it has nothing to do with malware. Same thing happens everyday with normal sites like Yahoo. Anytime an ad has movement or video, the page is only visible for a second, then hides behind the others. This has really become a major annoyance.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* On Windows you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* On Mac you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the option key while starting Firefox.
* On Linux you can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by quitting Firefox and then going to your Terminal and running: firefox -safe-mode (you may need to specify the Firefox installation path e.g. /usr/lib/firefox)
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.

• Custom hover menu hidding behind controls

hi Gurus,
I have a created a custom hover drop down menu using Dhtml
but this menu hides behind controls like r/3 transactions, VC iviews, PDF displayed in content area.
From other threads i found that the only solution to solve this is to have an iframe behind the div.
I have tried this too still the problem is not solved.
Steps i performed:
1> made a copy of original-A.jsp file as B.jsp.
2> removed the code for menu display from the
original-A.jsp and inserted the Iframe code as
<iframe src="/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/SDNTest.JSPPortalComponent" height="60" width="1000" top="0px" left="0px" margin="0px" padding="0px" >
</iframe>
and called the B.jsp from src of Iframe.
till here it works fine, the menu too is displayed.
but it still hides behind the control.
Please help for where am i going wrong ???
Do i need to modify any properties of Iframe ???
Please help.
Regards,
Abhaya.

Hi All,
I have observed a point, when i open the tray icon on portal it opens and overlaps the Flex Iview ?????

• Javascript Popup causing flash problems

Hi
I have a popup window that shows up over flash, and when I
close it the flash objects gets all weird. It stops drawing, and
does not work properly. If I remove the javascript popup window
from the DOM entirely everything is fine. Can someone point me to
what I am doing wrong.
I'm using the YUI libraries, and specifically the Dialog
widget.
Thanks
A.J.

i use this to open a new popup window
on (release) { getURL("javascript:window.open('
http://www.domain.com','Wname','width=950,height=600,top=20,left=20,toolbar=false,scrollba rs=yes,resizable=false,menubar=false,status=false');

• Called block hiding behind the calling block !!

Hi,
I have a module A which has a button Say "Click" , when this button is pressed it calls another module component in same form. Although calling works perfectly fine , it hides behind the calling block.
More explanation here :
I have a form Employee. this has two blocks(modules) Dept and employee. Employee is the master block and this has a button called Dept . When user presses this button it should take to the Dept screen (which is another module in same form) . Although it directs me correclty to the Dept screen it hides behind the Employee screen .
Also please note that i do perform some calculation which does Forms_commit in the dept screen . Not sure if this could be a reason.
All i need is to bring the Dept screen in front .
Any help would be much appreciated . Thanks in advance !!!
Regards,
Gopi

Let's clear the wording.
A Block cant hide behind a block; blocks hold data. Only objects displaying data may be hidden.
So, what's a "component" within a form for you? A Window? A (stacked) canvas?
May be you need to "show" the object (SET_xxx_PROPERTY(<name>, VISIBLE, PROPERTY_TRUE, where xxx stans for the appropriate object).
Keep in mind that forms always shows the item that has the focus. May be you need the focus.

• "Reply"/"Write" form hides behind main T'bird screen

Since I updated to latest version of T'bird (v.24.6) last week, I am unable to bring the mail form forward when the main Mailboxes screen is showing. Clicking on the edge of the Reply/Write screen will bring it forward only momentarily then it hides behind the Mailboxes screen. To write a new or reply email I have to minimize the main Mailboxes screen.
I've looked for an option that will let the Reply/Write form stay on top but can't find one. I've made no changes to options when I updated. Am I overlooking a new option somewhere?
Thanks for any help
P.S. Win 7 x64

Matt,
As a matter of interest for anyone else who may experience this problem. the culprit, in my case, is LastPass, the password manager. My usual routine every morning after boot-up is to load Firefox, invoke the LastPass plugin for Firefox, and then to load Thunderbird and answer emails. If I do things in that order, the problem shows. If, however, I load Thunderbird BEFORE signing into LastPass in Firefox via the plugin, everything runs normally. Also, once the problem shows, I can get rid of that by unloading LastPass, which is a great pain of course.
I'll report this to LastPass.

• Delta.edu patially hides behind home page until I CLICK ON it and its the only site that does this other computer does not do this.

Question
delta.edu patially hides behind home page until I CLICK ON it and its the only site that does this, other computer does not do this. i see .25 of ther home page.

Did you disable all the extensions before restarting?
If it works in Firefox Safe-mode then disable all extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:
*all extensions are disabled
*the default theme is used (no persona)
*userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored
*the default toolbar layout is used (localstore-safe.rdf)
*the Javascript JIT compiler is disabled
*hardware acceleration is disabled
*plugins are not affected
*preferences are not affected

• Second monitor "hide" the programs behind the screen background.

Hi!
Updated my system a couple of days ago. When I rebooted, my second screen comes up as normal, except I can't get anything to show on that screen.
The primary screen works as normal. The second screen shows the background and conky, but when I try to open anything on the screen, it opens, kind of behind the background. I can use the program, and drag it to the first screen. Then I see it. It's almost like the screen background covers it.

• How do I show and hide a popup message by the program

Hi,
I've the following problem. Sometime the program must wait to open a seriel port. On slow machines, this could take some seconds.
During this time I'll display a popup message with the message "please, be patient....".
After the port is open, the message should be hide by the program.
JOptionPane could be good, but without a "OK" button. Everthing should be controlled by the program.
I would implement the Runnable interface for the showing of the popup message.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Hans

You can use a JDialog... this will act like JOptionPane, but you can put on it whatever components you like... so no OK button!
For example:
JDialog dialog = new JDialog(parentFrame);
dialog.add(new JLabel("Please be patient", BorderLayout.CENTER);
dialog.pack();
dialog.setLocation(100,100);
dialog.setVisible(true);
dialog.setVisible(false);

• Tooltip is causing popups to go behind the main screen, how can I fix this?

Hello,
I'm facing a tooltip issue at work which I can't seem to reproduce in my stand-alone codes. Basically, I have a panel that contains a table with headlines. When I move the mouse through the headlines, if any popup or window is open on the main application, the tooltip causes it to go behind the app. The tooltip is implemented using the setToolTipText(String str) method in a JTable's renderer, which eventually extends DefaultTableCellRenderer; when I comment out this line, the problem seems to go away, and when I put it back I see the problem happening again. Here's what I've tried so far:
1) Removed setToolTipText() line in the renderer code, and replaced it with getToolTipText(MouseEvent e) in the table class, itself.
2) Removed setToolTipText() line and tried using a JWindow instead in the renderer, where I set the JWindow text to the renderer's value.
I know that it's the tooltip that causes the problem, and the two alternatives produce the same problem, and I don't know what else I should try.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I've been stuck with this assignment for over a week now and the deadline has passed. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas to offer, I'd very much appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

I have absolutely no idea why you listen to patumaire. He has no ideas what the answers are and just trolls the forums trying to start troll wars.
On the other hand you are incredibly selfish. We don't always no the answer, but will spend time investigating a solution be we are curious. You have no idea how frustrating it is spending time to answer questions only to find out it has already been answer in this forum or another.
I considered posting my question on other forums this time as well; and you just made me even more positive to continue doing so from now onThanks for the heads up. I've helped you in the past but will no longer. Hopefully your buddy patumaire can solve all your questions in the future.
In a clearer way, if you don't know the answer to my question, I'd rather not see you post, please.If you didn't cross post then you wouldn't have seen us in this posting. If normally accepted forum principles are followed then we would have no reason to comment, other than to answser a question. Since apparently you don't know these principles, you've been asked to change your behaviour.
