Javascript that runs when document opens

I’m new to javascripting. I created a timesheet in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 that the user can digitally sign. I need a script that will execute when the document opens that will check to see if a field has a certain value in it, and if it does, reset the signature field. When the employee opens the timesheet to fill it out each pay period I would like Acrobat to clear the signature field, removing their old signature. After signing the timesheet they send it to their supervisor for signature. I can’t add reset form to the doc open because I need the employee signature intact at this point, I don’t want it to remove the employee signature when the supervisor opens it to sign it. I would like Acrobat to examine a checkbox field called “Submitted for Approval”; if this field is checked, then leave the signature intact. If it isn’t checked, remove the signature. Can anyone help me with this script? I’m new to javascripting.

Yes, I am looking at that one. But isn't that script activated each time a .dir movie is exited, even if it opens a different .dir movie? Or, is it only activated when the 'PROJECTOR stops?
The script I want to run should only run when you exit the projector.

Hi good people from this forum, I was wondering if it's possible to create a validation that runs when a button is pressed.
I'm using Oracle Apex 4.2.2 with Oracle Apex Listener 2.0 and Oracle Database XE 11g

You can create a validation and give it's condition like 'When Button Pressed' and select a button name or select the Condition Type as 'Request=Expression1' and give request(button name) in Expression1.

According to me, for code behind stuff
Create master page(using module etc..), have the required placeholders in it.
Then, create a page that inherit from this master page, now you can use that placeholder in you page.
Lastly, place web parts in that placeholder. So, code behind will come with that master page .

How to run alert box when document opens

I am using Acrobat 9 and would like an alert box come up when the document is opened. I have successfully gotten an alert box to pop up using the script below when saving using document actions, but do not know how to make it execute when the document opens. Can anyone tell me how to modify this to add it to Javascript actions so it will run when the document opens? Thank you!

It's not a questions of modifying it, but placing it in the right location.
You need to go to Advanced - Document Processing - Document JavaScripts...
Then create a new script, clear the contents of the window that opens (the
function declaration) and paste this line of code instead.
Save the file and that's it.

How do you change the default swatches that appear when I open a new document?

When I open a new Illustrator CC file, I would like to have some of my favorite color swatches available in the color swatches panel. How do I edit the swatches panel so they always appear on new documents?

You may add them to your Adobe Illustrator Startup_CMYK and/or Adobe Illustrator Startup_RGB files in your Plugins folder.
What happens if you DoubleClick those swatches and Tick Global?

How do I turn off automatic OCR when document opens?

Hello,
I just installed Adobe Acrobat Standard X on my work computer and was given the dialogue box to automatically scan PDF's for recognizable text when I open them. I accidentally set this to run the OCR tool everytime I open a PDF, which I do a lot. This is annoying because I have a lot of PDF's with hundreds of pages which can take a long time to OCR if I don't cancel it. Is there a way to turn off this feature so that Acrobat does not OCR every PDF that I open?

The Audio Service is not running when I open certain programs

My audio works fine when I boot my computer. However, any time I got to click on the speaker icon at the bottom right the audio service stops running. When I use the system.msc fix that is very common on the web by the time I open the panel the
audio has already realized that it is running and starts running again. If I open razer comms, it stop working again and I either can open system.msc to fix it, or I can just click the speaker icon to fix it. When I open a game, like FFXIV it stop
working again, click the speaker and all the sudden it turns back on.
I have read every thread I can find on the web about the "Audio is not running" issue but no one seems to have had this exact problem and I don't know how to fix it.

By saying the audio service us not working, do you mean the speaker icon show an red "X" ?
Please take a check with the following KB article:
In Windows 7 a red 'X' may appear over the speaker icon in the notification area even though audio output functions correctly
If this is the issue, then this behavior is cosmetic in nature and does not affect the performance of Windows.

I want app B to run when I open app A and I want app B to quit when I quit app A

I have an idle script that handles iTunes. I want the script to run when I run iTunes and quit when I quit iTunes.
At the moment my workaround are two separate scripts, "zactivate" & "zquit"
activate application "iTunes"

quit application "albumArt"
quit application "iTunes"
I use spotlight to launch these but I would like to open and quit iTunes "normally" and have the same effect as the above scripts.
Please help me. I am a novice.

Normally AppleScript will not run automatically when you open or quit any given app - they're completely unrelated events.
However, if you already have an idle script, then you can amend your script to periodically poll to see if app1 is running and then launch/quit app2 based on the results. Something like:
on idle
tell application "System Events" to set processList to name of every application process
if processList contains "iTunes" then
-- iTunes is running, so make sure your secondary App is:
if processList does not contain "albumArt" then
launch application "AlbumArt"
end if
else
-- iTunes is not running, so quit the secondary app

The basic idea here is to periodically check to see if iTunes is running. Based on that, either launch or quit albumArt to keep them in sync.
Lowering the return value from the above 30 seconds will have the check performed more frequently. You can run it as often as you like based on how long you're prepared to tolerate the apps being in a different run state.

How do I change the default page that appears when I open a new tab or window?

I downloaded a program (Babylon) to translate text. After trying it out, I removed the program using their uninstall and then the add/remove functionality within windows. Nevertheless, remnants remain. When I attempt to open a new tab in Firefox (and IE for that matter), I get the Babylon Search page. In Chrome, when I changed the homepage, it eliminated the issue when opening a new tab. How do I establish a new default page when I open a new tab?

Itunes for windows not running when I open it

Brought new ipod nano, followed all instructions to the letter and have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled etc etc itunes about 20 times already and have had enough. My system is only 2 years old running windows xp and has the appropriate specifications, have turned off pop up blockers etc etc and still won't run. It says that quicktime and itunes has been successfully installed on my computer and quicktime will run when i click on the icon but when I go to click on itunes icon it does nothing not even an error message. Okay.
(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons and Themes later. Check and tell if its working.

Sound that plays when I open/close applications

Somehow when I open/close an application and do other similar things, my Mac makes a beeping sound. I checked System Preferences and do not see an option for this under sounds. I am also not sure how this was ever set. How/where can I turn this off?

Maybe you can let her play on your computer where it may be easier to restrict what she can do, provided there's an OS X equivalent. Of course supervision is probably the safest solution until she is old enough to understand she shouldn't do anything that's not permitted. But then she'd probably be old enough not to need to learn her ABSs.
