Javascripts folder for Acrobat X on MAC

there is a Javascripts folder for Acrobat 9 under the install location, but I do not see that for the acrobat x installation on MAC.
any ideas?
thanks!

Run this code in the interactove JavaScript console:
app.getPath("app", "javascript");
But since that can be difficult to do with certain mac keyboards, here is what it give me for my system with Acrobat 9:
/Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro/Adobe Acrobat Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/JavaScripts/
It should be similar for Acrobat 10.
For Reader 10, I have: /Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Reader.app/Contents/Resources/JavaScripts/
If you're looking for the user JavaScript folder, try this:
app.getPath("user", "javascript");

  • Acrobat 9.0 serial not working for Acrobat XI update (Mac)

    The subject line says it all. When I try to run my newly downloaded XI update, it requests a serial number for a qualifying product. I have Acrobat 9.0.0 Pro installed, and when I try to run XI, I get a window reading: "Serial Number you provided is valid, but a qualifying product could not be found on this computer."
    Then I manually input the serial (correctly--I've triple checked), select Acrobat Professional 9.0 for Mac in the pull down menu and click "Next." I get an error message saying, "This serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please try another."
    What the heck?

  • Where is the extension folder for Adobe Bridge? (Mac)

    I am trying to install the output module on Adobe Bridge. I am totally new to Creative Suite and photoshop. I can't find any information on bridge extensions at all. Here's the page I found on installing the output module- http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/install-output-module-bridge-cc.html
    I downloaded it but after that is says to copy it into the extension folder. Where is the extension folder? Is it is Bridge? Is it in Finder? Any information on extensions is much appreciated! What exactly are extensions? What is the difference between the extension folder and extension manager?
    Thank you!

    At first sight I can' see anything wrong about the correct locations you used.
    There was no need to delete all workspaces but that also should do no harm I would think.
    You once pointed at the bridge6.plist file but it is not clear to me what you did with it. Personally I would quit Bridge and delete this plist file manually and then restart with again holding down option and use reset preferences.
    And you did also use the reset to standard workspaces instead of the reset workspace to only reset the selected workspace. I don't know for sure this will make a difference but it is worth a try.
    And while you are in the user library to delete the plist file for Bridge also look in the folder caches in this library.
    User / library/caches/adobe/Bridge CC and inhere find and delete both the plug in and cache folder, then restart Bridge.
    Finally it might be also worth a try to download CS6, it should not be needed to do so but it was one of the earlier solutions that worked. In your ACC menu click on any app that shows blue and this brings you to the CC website. Choose download center and find PS. Click on the icon and this gives you the detailed download page. Inhere you can change CC to CS6.
    Download PS6 it and install it (this also installs the CS6 version of Bridge which was not a separate download in CS6). Then try first start CS6 and start the AOM which is installed by default in this version.
    Then when having used this once quit CS6 and try CC (or even combine with restarting your Mac).
    Hope this helps, because I'm running out of options

  • Basics of Javascript programming for Acrobat and PDFs

    Hello,
    I have a PDF file that I have added a form to, in order to programatically edit the fields within the PDF.
    I have found lots of useful resources for javascript in acrobat, including the Acrobat Javascript SDK reference PDF, which I have read.
    My problem is, most of the examples I see ask you to do the following:
    "To add a document level JavaScript in Acrobat, go to 'Advanced >  JavaScript > Document JavaScripts', enter a name for the script and  click 'Add'."
    I would like to enter the javascript directly into the HTML, and then edit the fields via HTML, as opposed to adding the javascript into the PDF file ahead of time.
    For example, this code changes the date of a field when the doc is opened:
    // variable to store whether document has been opened already or not
    var bAlreadyOpened;
    function docOpened()
      if(bAlreadyOpened != "true")
        // document has just been opened
        var d = new Date();
        var sDate = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", d);
        this.getField("todaysDate").value = sDate;
        // now set bAlreadyOpened to true so it doesn't
        // run again
    bAlreadyOpened = "true";
      else
        // document has already been opened
    // call the docOpened() function
    docOpened();
    Can I just stick this in an HTML file that hosts the PDF and have it change the fields?
    The reason being, I need to pull the data for the form fields from a database. I know there is Database stuff bulit into the SDK (ODBC access, which they call ADBC)
    But it would be so much easier if I could just write some javascript into the browser.
    Thanks in advance for looking at my question!

    I don't think you can do this in HTML.  However, you could open the PDF file from an FDF download, which would contain the Acrobat Javascript that you want to execute.  Thus, instead of opening the PDF directly from a URL, the URL would lead the user to an HTML (or, better yet, an ASPX) file that downloads the FDF stream (MIME type: "application/vnd.fnd").  The FDF not only contains the actual URL of the PDF file, which will cause the PDF to open in the browser, but it can also contain the Acrobat JavaScript code that you want to use, so you would not need to embed the JavaScript in each PDF file.
    If you take this approach, you'll probably want to purchase a 3rd-party product (e.g. FDFApp.Net) to help you generate the FDF output because getting FDF syntax exactly right can be difficult.

  • How do I use more than one folder for screensaver on my mac

    I have 3 separate folders that I want my computer to use when it switches to the screensavers but I can only get it to use one folder. I really want it to switch choose from the 3 different folders. Someone set it up for me before so I know it does it, I just can't figure out how. Thanks!

    The presets from earlier versions of GR should all be in the same place anyhow.. so reinstalling GR5 into it's correct locvation shouldn't affect anything regarding those other presets. In fact, as far as I can recall.. GR5 should ask if you want to import older presets when you first run GR5 standalone (The app version of GR5 in your applications folder) after install....
    Then those same presets should be present in in the AU version of GR5....
    Also GR4 (So long as you updated it to the latest version via the Service Center) should also continue to work with Logic Pro anyhow.. and load when you load an older project which used that version....
    Finally, any version you may have installed elsewhere.. won't work with Logic Pro because LP uses the AU Component version that is installed by the NI installer and therefore located in your components folder...  Those other versions are more likely to be copies of the standalone version.. which LP9 doesn't use.

  • Can't register my paid for acrobat X Pro Mac

    have my serial number. serial number upgrade window says " this serial number is not for a qualifying product. Please choose the one you own and enter it''s serial number." Well, that's all I can do! I upgraded to Yosemite, and reinstalled the Acrobat x pro from the download window on the adobe site. It installed smoothly but I can't use it because I can't register it. Now what?

    The serial number is an upgrade. You just need to prove you are eligible (qualified) to use the upgrade. You do that by using the serial number of the OLDER product when asked. So you enter BOTH serials. Be sure to keep them both forever, along with archiving the downloaded installer, since there is no guarantee you'll be able to download it again to reinstall.

  • Need javascript code for Acrobat 9

    How do I write the following in javascript to run in Acrobat 9?
    if total <5 then grandtotal = 0
    else if total >1 then grandtotal = total + 5
    Thanks
    Ron

    If it's just a matter of syntax, try http://www.w3schools.com/js/default.asp
    This little fragment would be
    if (total < 5)
      grandtotal = 0;
    else
      if (total > 1)
        grandtotal = total + 5;
    and I'm sure these variables need to be set up first.

  • Javascript folder locations

    Hi.
    I'm currently working on a short reference documentation for a client. This documentation has to instruct the client on how to place a trusted function script in the user javascript library.
    My client works in Acrobat 8.0 standard and Acrobat 7.0 standard on the Windows platform.
    I'm on a Mac hence the query in this forum.
    Can any of you kind Windows users enlighten me on a probably simple question as stating the standard path to the Acrobat application javascript folder for the 8.0 and 7.0 respectively.
    Help will be much appreciated - thanks.
    Torben.

    Here's what I have for Acrobat 7 Pro on Windows XP
    app.getPath("user", "javascript");
    /C/Documents and Settings/George/Application Data/Adobe/Acrobat/7.0/JavaScripts
    app.getPath("app", "javascript");
    /C/Program Files/Adobe/Acrobat 7.0/Acrobat/JavaScripts
    I don't have Acrobat 8 at the moment, so I can't check that. But for 9 Pro it's the same (on XP), with the obvious changes.

  • Where is the stamps folder on the mac for Acrobat Pro Xl?

    About a month ago I downloaded dynamic stamps for received and paid and "installed" them on a team-mates mac running OS X.
    It was straight forward.  I did some forum searches and it gave me instructions to copy the .PDF file with stamps containing java scripts to a folder on the mac.
    Now a month later I find I need to do it on my mac.  I am looking for the stamps folder on where to "install" the .PDF file again and can't seem to find the stamps folder on the mac.  I tried creating the stamps folder to see if it would take and acrobat did not recognize it.
    I tried using the console to find the stamps folder for user and application with no luck.
    Any help would be great.  I know it works because I was able to install it properly on one mac in the past, I just did not copy down the instructions and can't reproduce it.
    Thanks.

    It's in your user (Home) > Library folder. In recent versions of Mac OS X, this is hidden by default.
    In the Finder, hold down the Option key first while choosing Go > Library so you can see it.
    Then find it in:
    Library > Application Support > Adobe > Acrobat > 11.0 > Stamps

  • Folder level Javascript disabled for a user

    Hi Gurus,
    I created a folder level JS, it works fine on all computer here exept on one. On one computer, the javascript's in the pdf are working but the function called in the folder level script is not executed. (when it works on all the others). The script is in the right folder and the pdf works on other computers. Do I have to enable something in the preferences of acrobat reader 9.1. I checked the settings for JS in edit/preference and they are the same as for the others.
    Thanks for your help guys.

    All the script does it to generate a mail with the mailto function. The Preferences-JavaScript are set as on my pc. So it must be something else. If I email the pdf to my pc, it works, so the pdf form is fine, the script is the same as on my pc.

    That's why I recommended to make a
    test script, to make sure folder-level
    scripts are working on this machine.
    There's no setting to specifically allow folder-level
    scripts. If they are
    properly placed and JS is enabled then they will launch.
    However, if your script inserts menu items you should make
    sure that this
    option is checked under Preferences-JavaScript, the second
    check-box from
    the top. You should probably check all 4 boxes, just in
    case.

  • Creating folders in Javascript for Acrobat

    I cannot find a method for creating a folder in Javascript for Acrobat.  I know how to do it in InDesign but the same object (i.e. the folder object) does not seem to be available for Acrobat.
    I have a multi-page PDF in a folder.  I want to create a subordinate folder in the same folder as the PDF and then extract all pages to the subordinate folder in the folder holding the PDF.  How do I do  that?
    In other words:
    MyFolder/MyMultiPagePDF.PDF
    I create
    MyFolder/Extracted/
    and then I create
    MyFolder/Extracted/PDFPage1.PDF
    MyFolder/Extracted/PDFPage2.PDF
    MyFolder/Extracted/PDFPage3.PDF
    etc.
    I know how to do the extraction, but I do not know how to create the folder on the fly using Javascript.
    Please help, anyone.
    R,
    John

    Thank you, Mr. Johnson.  I appreciate your candor and your quick response.

  • My Acrobat XI suddenly will not create a PDF file, but has me select a folder for the file

    How do I set my Acrobat XI to create a PDF file.  It has me select a folder for the file, but nothing get printed

    There are so many ways Acrobat creates a PDF, we need to ask: exactly what steps do you follow, that lead up to this problem? Mac or Windows?

  • What's a browser compability of JavaScript for Acrobat ?

    I have a pdf with two fields that needs to be filled by user.
    I am using a Javascript for Acrobat to display a prompt dialog asking user to enter a data. it works pefectly fine on my local computer, but whenever I open it using various browsers I am running into different problems:
    Firefox:  20.0.0 No prompt dialog is showing up. Error (warning) message in developer's console: [09:49:17.064] Warning: TODO: unimplemented annotation type: FreeText
    Safari: 6.0.4 Certificate is displayed sideways. No prompt dialog is showing up. No errors in the developer's console.
    Chrome  26.0.1410.65  : works fine!
    Opera  12.15 nothing shows up, no pdf, warning or anything else.
    So it doesn't work on 3 out of 4 browsers that I checked.
    My pdf is embedded into the following file.
    http://uwf.edu/cde/mobileweb/certificate.cfm
    Is there a way to make it work on those browsers?

    Each of these browsers has its own PDF viewer. Some of them can optionally be set up, by the end user, to use Adobe Reader instead.
    (Don't overlook Windows 8 IE10, which defaults to running Windows 8 Reader.)
    And don't overlook the mobile browsers on iPad, iPhone, Android...
    Now each piece of software works, or doesn't, according to the designs and errors of their own developers. It would be a useful and helpful project if someone compared whether these viewers support interactive forms, and JavaScript, and if so what part works... but I have never seen the results of such a project. There are other pitfalls: Mac Preview, and hence Mac Safari, will fill a form but return a form which appears blank.
    You might try insisting that your users use Adobe Reader.

  • Why can't I download trial for Acrobat Pro on my Mac?

    Why can't I download trial for Acrobat Pro on my Mac?  I get an error message.  I click the download:  "Install Adobe Download Assistant", then click on it, see Adobe AIR application instaler, then get "Sorry, and error has occurred.  This application cannot be installed because this installer has been mis-configured. Please contact the application author for assistance."   If I knew who the application author was, I'd contact him!  Thanks, Pete

    Hey PetaPete,
    There are some known issues when downloading Adobe Download Assistant which you can find at:
    Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant
    So, you might alternatively need to try downloading Acrobat from the link given below:
    http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-acrobat-xi-pro-standard-reader-direct-download-links.html
    Note:
    1) You need to stay on the Adobe trial page for the respective product that you're downloading. You should be signed in.
    2) Copy/ Paste trial link for the files that you're downloading from Prodesigntools on to the address bar of Adobe trial page and hit enter.
