one more thing this works good as Junit (stand alone ) and in Tomcat when i am deploying in weblogic i am getiing above exception .
public class MyAuth extends Authenticator{
String rctUserName;
String rctPassword;
public MyAuth(String username,String password)
super();
rctUserName = username;
rctPassword = password;
protected PasswordAuthentication getPasswordAuthentication() {
char[] pwdChar = rctPassword.toCharArray();
return new PasswordAuthentication(rctUserName,pwdChar);
Authenticator.setDefault (new MyAuth("usr","pwd"));
try {
HelloService service = new HelloService(new URL(

"HelloService"));
catch (MalformedURLException e) {

e.printStackTrace();
MyService myservice = service.getMyService();
((BindingProvider)myservice ).getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, "usr");
System.out.println("3");
((BindingProvider)myservice ).getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.PASSWORD_PROPERTY, "pwd");
((BindingProvider)myservice ).getRequestContext().put(BindingProvider.ENDPOINT_ADDRESS_PROPERTY,
"[http://host/HelloService]");Please suggest what needs to be done ? ( it is working as Junit and in tomcat ... in weblogic it is giving problem )

Hi,
Weblogic uses its own URLStreamHandler that for some reason ignores authentication. You can get around this problem by using Suns stream handler like this:
MyService myservice = new MyService(new URL("http", "yourhost", port, "/yourfile", new sun.net.www.protocol.http.Handler()), new QName(...));
You should now have no problems using your authenticator. I would still very much like to find out how weblogic wants us to solve this though, since this is a work-around solution.

• Javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException ???????

I have deployed a simple web service using Apache Tomcat 6.0 and Axis 1.4 in Windows XP. Now the server is very simple:
import java.io.*;
import java.util.*;
HelloWorld.java
This is our web service
public class HelloWorld
public String getHelloWorld(String id)
String retName="";
try
File indexFile = new File("index.txt");
retName=indexFile.getAbsolutePath()+id;
catch(Exception e)
e.printStackTrace();
return retName;
Now if the client doesn't send any parameters then everything works well. But as sson as I try to send a parameter to the server, I get the following error:
"javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException: Number of parameters passed in (0) doesn't match the number of IN/INOUT parameters (1) from the addParameter() calls"
Why is this happening??? My client is also very simple:
package dummyC;
import java.util.*;
import org.apache.axis.client.Call;
import org.apache.axis.client.Service;
import org.apache.axis.encoding.XMLType;
import org.apache.axis.utils.Options;
import javax.xml.namespace.QName;
import javax.xml.rpc.ParameterMode;
import javax.xml.rpc.*;
public class DummyC {
@param args
public static void main(String[] args)
try
Service service = new Service();
Call call = (Call)service.createCall();
String endpoint ="http://localhost:8081/axis/HelloWorld.jws";
call.setTargetEndpointAddress(new java.net.URL(endpoint));
call.setOperationName(new QName("getHelloWorld"));
call.addParameter("param1",XMLType.XSD_STRING, ParameterMode.IN);
String output = (String)call.invoke(new Object[]{});
System.out.println("Got result : " + output);
catch(Exception e)
System.out.print("sssss: "+e.toString());
Please guys, I need to solve this problem with in the next couple of days.

Great. thanks.
However, I think you are using a new version of WLS JAX-RPC. The
javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException.getLinkedCause() is not in my version (0.8).Is there
a new version available.

set the following system property:
weblogic.webservice.verbose=true

Also you get to the actual exception by calling:
javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException.getLinkedCause()

Hi Jani,
Thanks for your reply.
I am new to webservices and we are trying to do a POC on invoking FinancialUtilService using HTTP proxy client. I am following steps mentioned in attached pdf section "Invoking FinancialUtil Service using Web Service Proxy Client". I have imported certificate using below command.
keytool -import -trustcacerts -file D:\Retek\Certificate.cer -alias client -keystore D:\Retek\default-keystore.jks -storepass welcome1
Invoking

SecurityPolicyFeature("oracle/wss11_saml_token_with_message_protection_client_policy")};
financialUtilService_Service = new FinancialUtilService_Service();
FinancialUtilService financialUtilService= financialUtilService_Service.getFinancialUtilServiceSoapHttpPort(securityFeature);
// Get the request context to set the outgoing addressing properties

wsbp.setOutboundHeaders( new StringHeader(WS_ADDR_VER.messageIDTag, uuid), replyTo.createHeader(WS_ADDR_VER.replyToTag));
wsbp.getRequestContext().put(WSBindingProvider.USERNAME_PROPERTY, "fin_user1");

• Javax.xml.soap.SOAPException in Fusion Order Demo Application

Hi,
I setup the Oracle Fusion Middleware. I also deployed the Oracle Fusion Order Demo Application in the soa_server. I placed the order in the store front web for the price of 3000. The Store font Service initiates the call to webservice (OrderBookingService) and aproved the order using BAM worklist application and then I found the below error in the soa_server_diagnostic log file.

Setting Timeouts for Synchronous Processes
For synchronous processes that connect to a remote database, you must increase the syncMaxWaitTime timeout property in the SOA_Oracle_Home\bpel\domains\default\config\domain.xml file:
<property id="syncMaxWaitTime">

<value>60000000</value>
<comment>
The maximum time the process result receiver will wait for a
result before returning. Results from asynchronous BPEL processes are
retrieved synchronously via a receiver that will wait for a result from the
container.

The default value is 60 seconds.
</comment>
</property>
But this changes nothing...
Is this value ignored?

• Problem testing WebMethod. Throwing javax.xml.bind.JAXBException

Hi guys,
Another Newbie.
Specifications:
NetBeans5.5
Sun App Server 9.0_01 (build b02-p01)
MySQL
Problem: Not able to test run the Webmethod with webparams.
I have an entity class with some methods as shown below
public class Country {
private Integer countryID;
private ServerDatabaseInteraction di;
private String countryName;
/** Creates a new instance of Country */
public Country(ServerDatabaseInteraction di) {
this.di = di;
* Creates a new instance of Country with the specified values.
* @param countryID the countryID of the Country
public Country(Integer countryID) {
this.countryID = countryID;
* Creates a new instance of Country with the specified values.
* @param countryID the countryID of the Country
* @param countryName the countryName of the Country
public Country(Integer countryID, String countryName, ServerDatabaseInteraction di) {
this.di = di;
this.countryID = countryID;
this.countryName = countryName;
* Gets the countryID of this Country.
* @return the countryID
public Integer getCountryID() {
return this.countryID;
* Sets the countryID of this Country to the specified value.
* @param countryID the new countryID
public void setCountryID(Integer countryID) {
this.countryID = countryID;
* Gets the countryName of this Country.
* @return the countryName
public String getCountryName() {
return this.countryName;
* Sets the countryName of this Country to the specified value.
* @param countryName the new countryName
public void setCountryName(String countryName) {
this.countryName = countryName;
public void insert() throws SQLException {
di.update("INSERT INTO Country (CountryName) VALUES ('"+getCountryName()+"')");
public ArrayList list() throws SQLException {
ArrayList queryAL = new ArrayList();
ResultSet rs = di.queryToResultSet("SELECT CountryID, CountryName FROM Country");
while(rs.next()) {
String temp = rs.getInt(1)+"#"+rs.getString(2);
queryAL.add(temp);
return queryAL;
} then I created a Web service having two methods as follows
@WebService
public class CountryWS {
ServerDatabaseInteraction di;
Country country;
public CountryWS() {
try {
di = new ServerDatabaseInteraction();
} catch (Exception ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
country = new Country(di);
* Web service operation
@WebMethod
public ArrayList listPKobjects() {
try {
return country.list();
} catch (SQLException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
return null;
* Web service operation
@WebMethod
public String insert(@WebParam(name = "CountryName") String CountryName) {
// TODO implement operation
country.setCountryName(CountryName);
try {
country.insert();
return "Inserted";
} catch (SQLException ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
return "Insert Failed";
}Now the problem is Im able to test (by right clicking on webservice from IDE) the webmethod listPKObjects but not the insert method. only difference is the second one is having webparms.
the log shows as follows..

Any help would be much appriciated.

I'm encountering the same problem, but it's very inconsistent. I've got three web services that I'm deploying. If I clean, rebuild, and redeploy, then different combinations of the three throw this error.
My specifications:
NetBeans 6.0
GlassFish v2
Oracle 10g
In browsing around online, I came across the following link which suggested to me that this issue is known and is being addressed.
https://jax-ws.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=419
I discovered that the reason that I was getting this error was because my web services all had the same operation names. When I renamed my operations in each service so that they had different names, this fixed the problem.
Hope this helps!

• Problem with JBuilder and javax.xml.transform package

Hi,
My JBuilder 7 can not find javax.xml.transform package. i use javax.xml.parsers package but i can not access to javax.xml.transform. is there a problem or something necessary to do to access that?
Best Wishes - WiseWarrior

Hey WiseWarrior,
your problem is directly related to your jar file in run time. The xml parser jar which you are using to perform transfor is not having the appropriate classes, take the latest version of xalan it has transform package and put it into your class path, it will work.
CheerS!!

• Javax.xml.stream.XMLInputFactory problems with &

Hi all
I am using javax.xml.stream.XMLInputFactory to create an XMLStreamReader, which reads XML in from a database.
The problem is that when it encounters & entities, it is replacing them simply with &. When I then go to transform the XML with an XSL stylesheet, it fails with a parser error due to the presence of unescaped & characters.
Looking at the API documentation, I thought that setting the property javax.xml.stream.isReplacingEntityReferences to false would solve the problem, but it isn't. The line of code I am using is as follows: -
inputFactory.setProperty("javax.xml.stream.isReplacingEntityReferences", new Boolean(false));
Any further ideas as to what I am doing wrong or what else I should be doing?
Many thanks for reading and considering my post.
Kind Regards
Jon

Thanks for your continued posts guys...
Quote from DrClap: "So if you consider this to be a problem, you are most likely misunderstanding. Or is there a reason why you feel you have to know how the text was represented in the document it came from?"
Right, just to clarify, this is what I'm trying to do...
1. XML, complete with properly escaped characters (&, etc) is sitting in the database.
2. Next, I am attempting to read the XML into memory character for character via an XMLInputStream and so I still want &, etc, not just &.
3. Finally, I apply stylesheet to XML Now I do want the parser to decode the & into &. The problem is that it has already been done in 2 (above) so the parser in 3 falls over.
Thanks for pointing out that javax.xml.stream.XMLInputFactory is not a standard class DrClap - looks like it's back to the drawing board for me!!
Thanks
Jon

• Problem with return of javax.xml.transform.Source impl from webService

I have a web services that needs to return an XML string to the calling client. If I return the XML as a String object it gets deserialized twice and the end result is no longer XML. My research indicates that I can return an implementation of javax.xml.transform.Source and this will cause SOAP to attach the XML string to the message rather than embed it (protecting it from deserialization). The following is the effective part of my method:
public Source[] consumeTextMessage(String id) throws RemoteException {
try {
MessageConsumer mc = new MessageConsumer();
String[] messages = mc.consumeTextMessage(id);
StreamSource[] sources = new StreamSource[messages.length];
for(int i = 0; i < messages.length; i++) {
sources[ i ] = new StreamSource();
return sources;
} catch(RemoteException e) {
throw e;
note: the mc.consumeTextMessage(id) call works correctly and I know that I'm not putting anything in the StreamSource objects in the loop to build the array of StreamSource objects - just trying to get SOMETHING to work
so this deploys without problem, but when I try to get a wsdl for the webservice i get a Server 500 error; the log says this:
javax.servlet.ServletException: WSDL Generation exception: java.lang.Exception javax.xml.transform.Source is an abstract class: cannot be instanciated
ok.... if I change the method return type to a concrete class (StreamSource[]), redeploy and try to get a wsdl, I get this absolutely crazy error:
javax.servlet.ServletException: WSDL Generation exception: java.lang.Exception java.io.Reader is an abstract class: cannot be instanciated
I have NO clue why it thinks it needs a Reader.
If I change the method return type to String[] (and make the various adjustments to the method) then it deploys ok and gives me a good WSDL (though it still doesn't work because the Strings are deserialized twice so this isn't a viable solution but it does show that my webservice config is correct).
So... bottom line seems to be that the webService "engine" of 10g AS doesn't like Source or StreamSource.....
Any ideas what I can do??

Funny story here: trying to deploy a different webserivce all together and got the same error message; thought I remembered seeing it before but wasn't sure; did a google search on it and lo and behold came across my first posting in this thread.... crazy.
Anyway, I have discovered something that answers some of the questions I had in my first post: It seems that the argument types used in a webservice signature MUST be CONCRETE classes (and I would think primitives would work too though I don't remember trying them) - they can not be Interfaces or abstract classes. Probably if I read the webservices spec it would tell me that.
So the error I was getting before was because Source was not a concrete class, and presumably the second error was caused by some signature somewhere along the line using the Reader abstract class.
Fun stuff.

java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream bout = new java.io.ByteArrayOutputStream();
com.cajarural.xml.HashtableParser parser = new com.cajarural.xml.HashtableParser(hashtable);
// Codigo para el TansformerHandler
// set the destination for the XSLT transformation
javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory transFact = javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory.newInstance();
if (transFact.getFeature(javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXTransformerFactory.FEATURE)&&transFact.getFeature(javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXSource.FEATURE))
javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXTransformerFactory saxTransFact = (javax.xml.transform.sax.SAXTransformerFactory) transFact;
javax.xml.transform.sax.TransformerHandler transHand = saxTransFact.newTransformerHandler(templates);
transHand.setResult(new javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult(bout));
parser.setContentHandler(transHand);
// attach the XSLT processor to the           parser.parse();
return new String(bout.toByteArray());

put Xalan in your war file then try using this kind of commands:     System.setProperty("org.xml.sax.parser", "org.apache.xerces.parsers.SAXParser");
System.setProperty("javax.xml.parsers.SAXParserFactory", "org.apache.xerces.jaxp.SAXParserFactoryImpl");
System.setProperty("javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory", "org.apache.xerces.jaxp.DocumentBuilderFactoryImpl");
System.setProperty("javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory", "org.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl");This tells JAXP what implementations it should use without even asking your administrator to modify the WebLogic setup...
It's what I've done with the WLS7.0 server I am using ;-)

• Problem with JAXB Unmarshall - javax.xml.bind.UnmarshalException

Hi,
I'm getting an expection while unmarshalling using JAXB. The error is as follows :
DefaultValidationEventHandler: [ERROR]: unexpected element (uri:"http://www.etrade.com/ee/systemdomainao/search", local:"Context_Id"). Expected elements are <{}contextId>,<{}predicateInterceptor>,<{}isDefaultsearch>,<{}implicitContextSQL>,<{}contextName>,<{}searchId>,<{}implicitContextText>
I've generated JAXB classes using xjc command from my schema. The root element is Search object which has a List of Searchcontext and Columlist object. When I'm trying to unmarshall the XML, I'm getting the above exception. What is baffling, if I comment out the <tns:SearchContext> entry from the XML, unmarshall doesn't throw any exception and populates the columnlist properly. Columnlist and Searchcontext have little difference except that columnlist contains more elements.
Here'e the unmarshall code,
URL metadataURL = this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResource("metadata/search/PARTICIPANT.xml");
JAXBContext jc = JAXBContext.newInstance("com.etrade.ee.systemdomainao.search.domain");
Unmarshaller unmarshaller = jc.createUnmarshaller();
unmarshaller.setEventHandler(new javax.xml.bind.helpers.DefaultValidationEventHandler());
Search search = (Search)unmarshaller.unmarshal(metadataURL);
Any pointers will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
