JAXB 2.1 w/JDK 6 Error. bootstrap classloader issue.
When I run one of my JUnit tests, I get this error:
JAXB 2.0 API is being loaded from the bootstrap classloader, but this RI (from jar:file:/usr/local/netbeans-6.0/java1/modules/ext/jaxws21/jaxb-impl.jar!/com/sun/xml/bind/v2/model/impl/ModelBuilder.class) needs 2.1 API. Use the endorsed directory mechanism to place jaxb-api.jar in the bootstrap classloader.
So, I copy jaxb-api.jar into /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun-1.6.0.03/jre/lib/endorsed/jaxb-impl.jar
Then I get this error:

Place the 2.1 jaxb-api.jar into $JRE_HOME/lib/endorsed. This essentially makes your JRE to "JRE 6 + JAXB 2.1". This won't affect any other applications that use this JRE, and it's easy. On the other hand, in various scenarios you may not be able to alter the JRE.

I am trying to deploy a Java web service into a Tomcat 5.5.20 server. I have the web service packaged in a .war file in Tomcat's webapps directory, and I can see that the .war file gets extracted when I start Tomcat.

In the /home/username/WebNMS/apache/tomcat/webapps/WebServices/WEB-INF/lib directory is where all the jar files from JAX-WS 2.2.6 are, including jaxb-api.jar.
I already added "-Djava.endorsed.dirs=/home/username/WebNMS/apache/tomcat/webapps/WebServices/WEB-INF/lib" to the command that starts the WebNMS process that starts Tomcat, but that didn't help.
Also, I tried adding a symbolic link called "endorsed" in the /home/username/WebNMS/jre/lib directory that points to /home/username/WebNMS/apache/tomcat/webapps/WebServices/WEB-INF/lib, and that didn't help either.
One interesting thing is that when I do a "find /home/username/WebNMS -name jaxb-api.jar", it only finds the one jaxb-api.jar in the /home/username/WebNMS/apache/tomcat/webapps/WebServices/WEB-INF/lib directory. There are no other jaxb-api.jar files. So I don't know why the error is saying that the JAXB 2.1 API is being loaded, when there's only the JAXB 2.2.6 API jar file. Unless it's finding something outside the /home/username/WebNMS dir, but that shouldn't happen considering I tried 2 different ways to set up the endorsed dir.

JAVA_HOME does not point to the JDK Error.

I unable build my local DC due problem with JAVA_HOME Parameter.
I am using j2sdk1.4.2_08. Is this a problem. (JDK Version).

Hi everybody
while we installing SRM5.0 in Win 2003 Server Standard Edition on HP X64 server we are facing the jdk error.when it approaches the jdk directory it ask for the 64 bit java version.could anyone guide where the software is available . i tried to installed with Java 5 EE but it triggers error with SAP.

With jre = 1.6.0_14-b08, got Error: Unexcepted Classloader
I uninstalled old JRE from my windows XP. and installed the latest, 1.6.0_14-b08.
Now when I start the same application, it failed to load the embedded browser.

We tried to deploy our ADF ear file to 10.3.6 weblogic.
Our app uses 3rd party jars put in WEB-INF/lib in war which in turn is in our app ear file.
Our web.xml is configured

Hi,
I have an application where I use JAF(Java Activation Framework) source code for my purpose. My application works fine with jdk1.5. When I run my application with jdk1.6, it does not work properly.
The cause is JAF is included in JRE1.6 and my application refers to the JAF present in the JRE not the one in my application.
My question is by any means can I ignore the JAF present in JRE1.6 and use the one present with my application?
Any help is appriciated.

You don't get NoClassDefFound for jars...
But i found the issue may be in the JRE conflict. I have 2 jre's available in the box. You can have several JREs installed. That does not cause conflicts.
When i type java -version, it is showing, 1.4.2_08 but my application was compatible with jdk 1.5 and infact 1.5.0 is also available in the machine.This just means that your 1.4.2 JRE is on your PATH and is the first place the shell found "java".
I tried to exectue the program by changing to the jdk 1.5.0 path like /app/instals/jdk1/5/bin/java -cp /lib/hibernate.jar abc. so i didn't get the unsupportedversionexception.You mean by launching java using the fully qualified name.
But none of the jars in the classpath wasn't loaded. Huh?
I think there is some classloading issue associated with JRE. Unlikely.
How i use the 1.5.0 jre? Same way as the 1.4.2 JRE.
Btw, there are some application running in the box so i may not be able to switch to 1.5 entirely.Not relevant. -
IMac error: Failed to issue COM RESET
After my iMac got slower en and freezed i tried resetting the Pram and in single user mode i did *fsck -fy*
then i get the following error:
*Failed to issue COM RESET successfully after 3 attempts. Failing...*
after that nothing worked anymore!!! only the Windows vista partition worked for a day or two. is this a harddrive failure something worse?
Message was edited by: Birkhoff (title changed)I believe posting relevant facts is productive, & a very relevant fact here is that you are trying to use a drive with an interface (SATA-II) that Apple does not currently support in its laptops.
SATA-I controllers are supposed to be compatible with SATA-II drives, but many of them are not. The problem is how some controllers implement auto negotiation, which is supposed to tell the drive to fall back to SATA-1 speeds with the slower controllers. Some SATA-II drives have a jumper to force the slower speed if auto negotiation doesn't work; some do not.
How this compatibility problem came about, & why the jumper is required, is complicated but the short version is that at least four different specification bodies had some responsibility in producing SATA specifications, & not all controllers were designed to the same standards. This includes not just the controllers Apple has been using but those in many PC's as well.
So I agree that Apple dropped the ball, but not necessarily the way you might think: it should have made it very clear that the firmware update implemented an unsupported interface speed, that it might cause problems, & (most importantly) provided a reversion strategy to the former firmware if it did.
Hopefully, Apple will take another 'swing' at this & either provide that reversion strategy or a new update that at least allows the controller to work more reliably with the faster interface. But until then, unless your drive has the jumper, my previous suggestion is probably the best you can do.
BTW, none of the current mechanical drives available for laptops can saturate a SATA-1 bus except for brief bursts from the drive's buffer, so the real loss in performance of running a single SATA-II drive at SATA-1 speeds is almost negligible, something you might notice in a benchmark but not in real-world use. -
Error during goods issue-Posting period not open

I am getting an error during goods issue which says posting period not open.I guess that we have had deliveries that were created and in process while crossing over from one financial period to another quite frequently before, but we were still able to goods issue them in the next period. Can anyone tell me why this error happens and if there is any work around for this?

Goods issue takes place, say on a given date and this should be updated, so that the plant valuation changes are recorded. But the periods need to opened to do this. Normally there are two posting periods available, one is in MM, done by t.code MMPV and the other in FI, t.code is OB52.
So, in MMPV we need have the current month as the posting period. But in your case it was allowing, probably because you have marked the indicator " allow posting in previous period " in MMRV t.code as our friend just conveyed.

I place my WAR file for deployment in the domain/applications directory for automatic deployment when the Weblogic server starts. This usually works fine. But, for unkown reasons, I am now getting a ClassNotFoundException after I added some new JARS to the appliation's WEB-INF/lib directory. The Class that it complains about is in one of the new JARs, the package name is correct, and the JAR is getting deployed. When I deploy the application manually, I the problem goes away. Deploying manually means that I make the applicatoin directory myself under domain/applications and the unwar it into that directory.

May you try to open your form, compile all pl/sql (shift-ctrl-k) and compile the form (ctrl-t).
Take a look at triggers like pre-insert, on-insert, post-insert and key-commit.
What's happen there?
I don't know, if the default username feature in 10g is still supported.
So may the logon ( '/' ...) fails and for this the login screen os shown.

I have an applet that must be dynamically extensible at run time. I am using
the URLClassLoader to support dynamic class loading for the modules the
applet must contain on the specific page.
Each jar file contains:
* The class files, icons and other resources for the module
* a file called META-INF/ext.initializers
The initializers file contains a list of classes which implement my
ExtensionInitializer interface. I am using
ClassLoader.getResources("META-INF/ext.initializers") to obtain these lists.
This works fine.
Each class implementing ExtensionInitializer is responsible for attaching
various objects to the main applet i.e extra GUI items, information
processors etc...
The problem I am getting is that although the class loader will load
resources ok, it WILL NOT LOAD the damn classes!!!
Here's the snippet of code where it runs into trouble:

I create an instance of this with a URL[] specifying the urls of dynamic extension jars. Someone suggested that security restrictions may be to blame but it also occurs with the applet viewer with all class loading restrictions turned off. The resource files contained in the jars do become available. Someone suggested was signing the jars which I will check today.

JAXB 1.0 Final: jaxb.properties not found when using custom classloader
JDK 1.3.1 is being used.
The scenario:
1) jaxb jar files, jaxb generated files and application files loaded in default class loader works, however
2) jaxb jar files, jaxb generated files and application files loaded in a custom class loader generate the following exception:
javax.xml.bind.JAXBException: Unable to locate jaxb.properties for package XXX
To demonstrate here are two sample applications: a Launcher app whose job it is to start apps and a sample App1 application who needs JAXB.
If launch is placed into a jar file named launch.jar and App1 is placed into a jar file named app1.jar (with a JAXB generated package), and both jar files are placed in a directory containing all the JAXB 1.0 jar files (dom, sax, namespace, etc) and the system is started with the following:
jre\bin\java -cp launch.jar; testLaunch.launch
the exception occurs.
By way of comparison, if App1 is started directly with the following:

jbe.printStackTrace();I'm doing something very similar. In fact my launcher is also stored in launcher.jar. It will start any application on the classpath and load dependencies jars located in the specified directory.
The first thing you must do is specify the classloader when constructing the jaxb context:
JAXBContext jc = JAXBContext.newInstance(xmlPackage, getClass().getClassLoader());
After this I was still raning into the "jaxb.properties not found" exception in some situations. Basically if the class using the jaxb files is located in the same jar as jaxb.properties everything worked fine. However if the class using the jaxb objects was located in a different jar it did not work.
I had to add the following early in the execution of the application that load the plugins to get things working correctly:
Thread.currentThread().setContextClassLoader(jarDirClassLoader);
As far as I can tell JAXB using the Context class loader to find the jaxb.properties file.
