How does xalan.jar work with jdk1.3.1 and not work with jdk1.4.1
Hi,
i am using java, xalan, xerces for web development. The environment is jdk1.4.1, xerces.jar, xalan.jar. i am facing problem while transforming xml, xsl. Its giving the following error
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.apache.xalan.xslt.Process.getDefaultLiaison()Ljava/lang/String;
at org.apache.xalan.xslt.XSLTEngineImpl.(XSLTEngineImpl.java:367)
at org.apache.xalan.xslt.XSLTProcessorFactory.getProcessor(XSLTProcessorFactory.java:79)
I tried with jdk1.3.1, xalan.jar, xerces.jar. Its working fine. Can anyone tell me what is the problem with jdk1.4.1 ?
Regards
AshokI have the same problem, but the version within SUN seems imcomplete, what version is ?
For example I am using the xsl tag library provided by Apache (I know this now deprecated). In its ApplyTag.java it uses XSLTDataSource this is not in the SUN 1.4 distribution so it falls over. If I add XALAN 1.0.1 it falls over because it on getDefaultLiason() because it starts loading somne classes from rt.jar and some from xalan.jar, how are you meant to override this. -
Key backspace and delete work with JDK1.3.1 and not with JDK1.4
In JCTable, keys backspace and delete are not working with JDK1.4. It works with JDK1.3.1.

Application developed using JDK1.2.2 not working with JRE1.3
I am supporting and application developed using JDK1.2.2, it uses JDBC drivers from oracle(classes12.zip) to connect to an Oracle 8i database. This application is not working with JRE1.3. Can someone suggest any possible methods to make it work with JRE1.3?
Thanks in advance,
Anoop.well, Now the problem is partly solved. I was having problems in displaying a frame(derived from JInternalFrame), later I discovered that for JRE1.3, I have to explicitly set the setVisible option to true.
I have a few more frames to correct. I hope after that it wil be alright..
Thanks for the quick response.

ICEDTEA-WEB NOTES
Invalid XML
An error like
netx: Unexpected net.sourceforge.jnlp.ParseException: Invalid XML document syntax. at net.sourceforge.jnlp.Parser.getRootNode(Parser.java:1203)
indicates that the JNLP file is not valid XML. The error happens because netx uses an XML parser to parse the JNLP file. Other JNLP client implementations may use more lenient parsers and may or may not work with the given JNLP file. Errors caused by malformed JNLP files can often lead to subtle bugs, so it is probably best to fix the JNLP file itself. A tool like xmlproc_parse might be able to pinpoint the error.

The console starts and all is well with the world.
This is obviously not how one would want to start a console by downloading the .jnlp file and running it on the command line so I am now going to remove the /home/gordon/.icedtea/cache/http/* and see what happens.
First, let me say that nothing happened. It did not work. I did confirm that it creates the directory structure again /home/gordon/.icedtea/cache/http/192.168.4.16/ovm/rasproxy/ but there is only one file in the directory.
[gordon@ufo rasproxy]$ cat ovm_rasproxy-ws.jnlp.info

If I save that ovm_rasproxy-ws.jnlp file instead of opening it and copy it to the /home/gordon/.icedtea/cache/http/192.168.4.16/ovm/rasproxy/ directory the console will now start successfully with one minor drawback - it will only launch that one VM based on the .jnlp file that I downloaded.

The obfuscating tool Dasho not working with jre 1.5
I have a issue that Dasho (newer and old versions )does not work with JDK 1.5 . Earlier we used JDK1.4 version in which it works.
Have anyone faced this issue or worked the dasho please give some idea .We made the move from DashO to yGuard (for various reasons)
before we made the move from JDK 1.4 to JDK 1.5.
Google suggests DashO supports JDK 1.5, even JDK 1.6; [DashO change log|http://www.preemptive.com/dasho-change-log.html].

I have recently upgraded my iMac Intel G5 iSight (iMac5,1) to OS 10.6.8 and now the internal mic does not work with skype or facebook. I can here static when playing back clips. Do I need to update firmware or reload old system parts. I have zapped PRAM. The blue indicator in system audio panel will appear for a second as I slide the bar for internal mic but then it disappears. Is there a fix?
The sound seems very faint but can here static on playback.

But since its occurring for some users (perticulary indian users) and some times. And also its occurring in production environment not in development environment.
Even the java control panel is not working with mouse.

Caller ID not working with Nokia 6600?
I have a T-Mobile (US) Nokia 6600, and I can't seem to get address book to display incoming SMS or the caller ID of incoming calls. I've successfully paired the phone via bluetooth, and I can make address book dial the phone and send an sms. I can sync via iSync, use my phone as a modem, etc. etc.
But regardless of what settings I tweak, I can't seem to get Address Book to show a bezel of any kind on incoming calls - not even an 'Unknown Caller' message! Am I missing something obvious? Third party apps like BluePhoneElite work just fine, so I'm pretty sure it's something wrong with Address Book...

I have followed the instructions and turned everything on, but it just does not work.
The Caller ID issue was due to an outage. It should be resolved anytime soon. Can yu log out and log back in. Go to app settings and in notifications and turn CAller ID off and on.
On email - what do you mean 'email is very hard to see' ? I would like to pass on this feedback to the team.
