JBoss - Basic Web Page??

Hi:
I'm trying to get a basic web page or ANYTHING! to show up under JBoss.
I've installed the JBoss-4.0.2 server. I can run their management application:
http://localhost:8080/jmx-console
with no problem.
I can't figure out what makes jmx-console the 'prefix'? Why does typing jmx-console pull that app up? I can't see any ear, war, jar, jsp, htm, folder or anything named that in the management folder.
How do I set or find what to type into a browser to pull up a Web application in JBoss 4.0.2? Even just a simple htm page?

Take a look in the "deploy" directory. - see the directory jmx-console.war? Thats the website.
The "deploy" directory is the spot to put all your ears, wars, root folders etc etc.
So you can make your own "myApp.war" folder, in the deploy directory, with a web-inf and web.xml file - and voila you can access http://localhost:8080/myApp
Cheers,

• Simple text edit html files will not display as web pages using Safari

How does one get Text Edit files saved as HTML to display as a web page rather than showing the code as written? It appears that somehow some sort of code generator is being invoked and causing this to happen. I am not trying to do anything complex, just simple files like "Hello World".

Hi ..
Make sure you are following the instructions as noted here > Creating a Basic Web Page
You may need to turn off all Safari extensions.
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
Switch to OFF.
Then see if it reads as HTML or Hello World.

• Web page posted 2 weeks but is not showing up in Google or other search eng

Would there be a reason that a very basic web page created in iWeb would not meet the technical criteria to be included in Googles search page.
It seems like Google have a problem digesting the page.
Does anyone have any experience with that issue?
Christer

Where did you publish your site - to MobileMe? If so, Google is not very good at picking up MME published sites with web.me.com url's - they are only really for personal sites and not business sites.
Also, did you tell Google that your site is there? You need to inform them and other search engines so that your site will be included in searches.

Should I learn Dreamweaver or FrontPage to make web pages?
Both Dreamweaver and FrontPage are WYSIWYG (What You See Is

either one will do the job. In a review in the October 2001 issue

• Help deleting saved web pages

Hello:
I am new to dreamweaver cs5 and I am working from a book Adobe Dreamweaver Classroom in a Book.
Being new to Dreamweaver and just having fun I have created and saved 4 basic web pages that are appearing in the dreamweaver Welcome screen in the Open a Recent Item drop down list. Being new to this trial and error I would like to delete them and start fresh. Searching for hours on line and in dreamweaver's help section I can't find what I am looking for. The book comes with a dvd with instructional lessons I have saved on to c drive where I do my work and save back on to c drive. Please, is there a way to delete these web pages. Thank you Jon.

Re Mr. Waller
Thank you. It did the trick.

• Web page has no down arrow/scroll bars

I have a web page I found, that I want to look at and peruse. I clicked on it, on my new iMac running 10.6.8 with safari 5.0.5 and while the page will load, there is not ability to scroll down the page. There is now up/down arrow or blue ball tab to drag down. I emailed my brother on a pc, and he sees the webpage with the ability to scroll up and now and basically navigate the page. I tried at work today on my imac there, running 10.5.8 and it sees a basic web page with the scroll bars. On my ipad, the page looks like it does on my imac, but I can use my fingers to gesture down the page.
Any thoughts on my my new imac is loading essentially the ipad page version and not the safari one with scroll tools so I can navigate? Is there a setting I need to set on my new imac?
thanks,
Michelle

Restart your Mac.
If that doesn't help, click Safari / Preferences from the menu bar then select the Security tab.
Deselect: Enable plug-ins
Quit then relaunch Safari. If the scroll bar shows up, then you need to troubleshoot third party Safari add ons >
Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues

• I want to design a web page (my first) - what /where do you find iWeb?

• I built a basic Checkbox web page. I want to add a time stamp everytime a check is made on the page. How do I do that?

I built a basic "checkbox page" with a list of bus numbers next to a check box. once the check is made, I want Dreamweaver to insert the time that it was pressed right next to the bus number. How do I do this?
Any suggestions would be great.

> I want Dreamweaver to insert the time that it was pressed right next to the bus number
Sorry, Dreamweaver is just a development tool. You wouldn't have it insert the time. Your dynamic web page would do that.
The best way would be to use AJAX, but a simpler method would be to have the checkbox trigger an event to submit the form. Then update the database with the timestamp. However, either method have the problem in that if the wrong checkbox is accidentally checked the form gets submitted. I think it would be better to use a submit button.
Of course, all of this assumes you know Javascript and PHP or another scripting language and have a database setup.

• Complete web pages (in the form of ads basically) pop up without being prompted in a new window even with adblocker on.

A few times per day, on average, a new web page will appear in a new window...basically marketing their product or solution. I have ABP turned on. I'd like to know how I can prevent this from occurring.

Hi,
I have the same issue, but the thing is, "Warn me when web sites try to redirect or reload the page" is OFF, and about:config shows that "accessibility.blockautorefresh" is false.
So everything should be OK, however I constantly get the "This web page is being redirected to a new location. Would you like to resend the form data you have typed to the new location?" message, and it's utterly annoying.
Any ideas? I would appreciate any help! Thanks!

• Basic JPS page loading accurately on my home web server.

I have recently set up my home PC (Windows XP Version 2002 SP2) to work as a web server using apache_2.2.8-win32-x86-openssl-0.9.8g.msi from http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi.
The URL is http://99.235.126.44 so my local host is http://localhost which is currently configured to access a one of my MP3 directories.
I also installed NetBeans IDE 6.0.1 and also C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_15.
I created a test java file in C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_15\bin then complied and ran it as a test to make sure it was compiling and running properly. Now I have a basic jsp page that I would like to set up or have it configured to open on http://99.235.126.44. For now the JSP page is a test page and is saved as HelloWorld.jsp and is in the same directory as the MP3 directory who's path is :
DocumentRoot "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\HouseDVD"
When I go to http://99.235.126.44 I can see the list of files including HelloWorld.jsp. When I click on the file it opens in html format but is does run the java code within. It opens a blank page with nothing in it. Here is the source of the JSP file:

My first JSP page

<%@ page language="java" %>
<% out.println("Hello to the World of JPS at home"); %>

Does anyone know how to get the JSP file to open or run properly. Better yet does anyone know how to get it to automatically launch when typing http://99.235.126.44 into any browser. Maybe the JSP file is not correctly written or not in the right location or saved properly. Please respond when ever whom ever is able.
Thanks,
Mikiss.

Thank you for response and all the detail you have provided thus far. I have tried to get it work using Tomcat.
I have downloaded tomcat from http://www.coreservlets.com/Apache-Tomcat-Tutorial/index.html#Test-Server
and done steps 1 and 2. Now 3 which is "Change the Port to 80" is where I require assistance.
I still have Apache running which listens to Port 80 and the install instructions says
"*Assuming you have no other server already running on port 80*, you'll find it convenient to configure Tomcat to run on the default HTTP port (80) instead of the out-of-the-box port of 8080. Making this change lets you use URLs of the form http://localhost/blah instead of http://localhost:8080/blah.
Now you said "install tomcat server" does that mean with what I have so far or on its own. I have my configuration page working and listening to port 80 which opens a directory with all my files. I would like it to open my JSP page but I do not know how to modify the
"port, edit install_dir/conf/server.xml and change the port attribute of the Connector element from 8080 to 80, yielding a result similar to that below."
I checked and it already says "<Connector port="80" ... maxThreads="150" ...".
Do I need both can I use both. Let me know when ever you are able.

• Basic Setup Web Page Error

When I type in the IP address of the router in the address bar, the page comes up with errors and none of the tabs at the top of the page are showing, meaning I can't click on "Wireless". My router and adapter are showing a connection, but it tells me there is no internet connection found. Which is why I need to access the Basic Setup page. I've tried turning off my pop-up blocker, but no use. If someone could help me I would be grateful!

I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

• Posting an XML Variable to a BLS Transaction from a web page

I am working in xMII 11.5 with all the latest service packs. I know this is probably a really basic question but I am stumped.
I am trying to pass a multi row and multi column XML data set from a web page into a BLS transaction (actually, two of them) in order to populate the parameter. I want to use the Web Service interface to the transaction. I have tried using parameters on an Xacute Query in an Applet as well with an equal lack of success. I cannot persuade the transaction to see the incoming variable as an XML data type. I have tried encoding and decoding and string to xml conversions and nothing seems to successfully allow the data set to be seen withing the BLS as anything but a string. The String to XML action will not handle the number of columns in the dataset though it seems to work if the data set has only one column. The data set is formatted in the proper "Rowsets/Rowset/Row" format. I have considered writing the data to an XML file on the server (I know I can deal with that) but that is not acceptable in this application.
Can someone share the secret with me?
...Sparks

Parameter value:
r1d1,r1d2,r1d3;r2d1,r2d2,r2d3;r3d1,r3d2,r3d2
Pass thru String List to Xml Parser with delim ";"
<Row>

r1d1,r1d2,r1d3

</Row>
<Row>

r2d1,r2d2,r2d3

</Row>
<Row>

r3d1,r3d2,r3d2

</Row>
Repeat on each row/item and pass thru String List to Xml Parser with delim ","
<Row>

r1d1

</Row>
<Row>

r1d2

</Row>
<Row>

r1d3

</Row>
Of course, your columns aren't flat but they are easy to ref, to get "column 2" for example:
StringListToXml_1.Output{/Rowsets/Rowset/Row[2]/Item}
So now you have rows and columns. Assign your data to your BAPI structured as needed.
We have passed complex XML via the SOAP interface in 11.5, but it involved some "hacks". Basically we passed the sterilized XML via a String Type Parameter, and then unserialized it inside the BLT.
I have been told on this board that there is a solution to passing XML data vie the SOAP interface using ref docs, but i have never personally seen a working example.

• Playing swf file by onclick in html web page

First time poster so please forgive any protocol lapses. I'm trying to play an AS3 swf embedded in my web page by an onclick javascript function in my page. Have tried many different ways, including the ExternalInterface class but no luck. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I have a feeling that I'm overlooking something very basic.

No need to be sorry... one other thing... the url to the swf uses the "public_html" directory as a lead-in.

The public_html directory of a web site is typically where a web site's content is placed as the base for a web site on a host server. Unless you have a directory named public_html within what is probably already the public_html folder, then you do not want to specify that. It is more probably supposed to be...

If you look at the various images that are specified in the html code, they do not specify that directory. So if the swf is in the same folder as them, you do not want to be specifying the public_html part of that address.

• A better way to Scroll through web pages?!?

I read long articles on various news web sites. It's really a pain to have to constantly scroll down the screen using your finger! Is there any solution for this??
When I use the amazon kindle you just click a button to move to the next section of the screen. One hit and you're there! It would be awesome to utlize the physical volume controls on touch to do the same. Is there any app that does this already? (I have not found one).
Or mabye there is a way to add a button at the bottom of the screen that would also jump to the next section of the web page for faster reading.
Any ideas out there
Cheers

You may want to see if one of the News Apps, In the App store provide you with what you need. They have the ability to basically let you scroll however they want it to look with built in buttons or using swipe.
Can not say there is an actual news App that will do this as I have not really tested all them. But maybe another poster out there can post their experience with news apps.
In the mean time feel free to submit feedback to iPhone and if you find a news App you like without the features you want feel free to submit feedback to them as well.

• How do you return to web page after executing servlet?

When I submit some values to my servlet from a page, using a from, how do I get back into the web page directory? When you call the servlet, the url turns to "./servlet", and if I click on submit again, it tries to find "./servlet/servlet" so obviously it kicks up an error.
Basically I want the servlet to accept answers in a form, rebuild that form using the answers submitted, and go back to that rebuild. Hopefully, the user shouldn't notice anything changing, which is the idea, excepth his/her answers have been stored by the servlet.
ANY help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Miles

Could you briefly explain how this works joshman. Are you saying use send.redirect or something else I have not found? if so, could you elborate a bit (some method names would be usefull too). I have no idea about headers, which probably doesn't help.
The problem is I either have to out.println the modified html (with the answers in the values in the input tags), which means I must get the web server to look in the directory where the original page came from, otherwise pictures and other stuff dont show. Then just outputting the html would be as if the original html file was given with inserted values.
OR
I have to save modified html files in the same directory under different names, give these to the client and delete them after a while to save spacew. I'd rather not have to do this as it complicates stuff.
Cheers again.
