JClient - Strange Behaviour when using multiple-row-selection

In my application a problem occures whenever I want to select multple rows in a JTable...
I am using a JTable bound to a ViewObject which displays quite a lot of rows. For further processing I need to select more than one row. So I changed the code the following way:
table.setModel(JUTableBinding.createAttributeListBinding(panelBinding, table, "SomeView", null, "SomeViewIter", new String[] {"FirstAttribute", "SecondAttribute"}));
table.setSelectionMode(ListSelectionModel.MULTIPLE_INTERVAL_SELECTION);JUTableBinding only works with Single-selection model as it needs to track currency based on the current selection.
You'd have to implement a custom Table-model that wraps the built-in table model (quite like what's done in the 'table sorting example' at
http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/jdev/jclient/jclient_table_sorting_sample.html
Then you may implement multiple selection and fake single selection model (last selected row perhaps) to the JUTableBinding's tableModel.
Basically there are 2 problems:
Whenever I want to select several rows or intervals by dragging the mouse or by using cursers, older selections disappear.
When I select rows and then use the scrollbar, all selections but one disappear.
Is there something wrong in my implementation or is this another bug? That's one of those little things, that make life of developers and end-users hard.

I have developed an ASP.NET 1.1 Web application that uses ODP.NET 9.2.0.4 accessing Oracle Database 8i (which is to be upgraded to 10g in the coming months). I have enabled connection pooling and implemented proxy authentication.
I am observing a strange behaviour in the live environment. If two users (User 1 and User 2) are executing SQL statements at the same time (concurrent threads in IIS), the following is occurring:
* User 1 opens a new connection, executes a SELECT statement, and closes this connection. The audit log, which uses the USER function, shows User 1 executed this statement.
* User 2 opens the same connection (before it is released to the connection pool?), excutes an INSERT statement, and closes this connection. The audit log shows User 1, not User 2, executed this statement.
Is this a known issue when using connection pooling with proxy authentication? I appreciate your help.

I tried to reproduce your complaint, but was unable to. I didnt use auditting however, just a series of "select user from dual" with proxy authentication. You might want to see if you can put together a small complete testcase for this and open a sr with support.

Queue with callback function - strange behaviour when using max_retries

I hope someone can tell me what is wrong or can explain the following strange behaviour to me.
I am using one queue with a registered callback function. To test the behavoiur in case of an error I tested different settings, with or without explicit exception queue and with or without parameter max_retries.
Database Version is 11.2.0.2.   Enterprise Edition
I enqueue 10 messages in a loop.
I define no exception queue and do not set max_retries
==> all messages stay in the queuetable with q_name = AQ$_... (implicit exception queue) and retry_count = 5
I define no exception queue and set max_retries = 4
==> 1 message stays in the queuetable with q_name = AQ$_... (implicit exception queue) and retry_count = 4
       9 messages stay in the queuetable with q_name = nomal queue name and retry_count = 0
I define an exception queue and set max_retries = 4
==> 1 message is transfered to the Exception Queuetable with retry_count = 4
       9 messages stay in the normal Queuetable and retry_count = 0
I define an exception queue and do not set max_retries
==> all 10 messages are transferred to the Exception Queuetable with retry_count = 5
I have no explanation for the behaviour in case 2 and case 3.

Strange error when using Automatic Row Processing

Hi All,
I have a page with 2 regions
- first is a form for data entry (4 fields - 2 hidden, 1 LOV, 1 text)
--> 3 buttons - Cancel, Create, Create & Create Another
--> Create branches to next page, Create Another branches back to same page
- second is report of items entered into the form (conditional display)
This all seems to be working, except that when I click either of the buttons, I get this:
Action Processed. -- The success message - so data is inserted
Unexpected error, unable to find item name at application or page level.
Error ERR-1002 Unable to find item ID for item " P31_PIECE_CNT)" in application "122".
And the 'OK' link. When I use the link to go back to the page, the data shows up in the report. So I know that the process is working up until it does the insert, but not sure why I get the error.

All that is saying is that no such page/app item called P31_PIECE_CNT exists in the application and some after-submit component on that page is trying to refer to that item name.

Strange behaviour when using a custom errorpage

When I create a standard JHeadstart application using the "HR" schema, add a custom error-page and force an error on a jspx page, the following happens:
1. Force error on page (via an incorrect commandlink)
2. Get custom error page correctly
3. Restart the original page
4. Again force the error on the page
5. In the browser "Recursive error in error-page calling for /faces/pages/CXSError.jspx, see the application log for details." is displayed.
What is going on?

The first time the error is forced, this is logged (just after the stacktrace in the log window):

This was an application module pooling, activation / passivation issue.
After view objects had been set-up correctly, the problem disappeared.

Strange behaviour when using ReadOnly VO on view over DBlink

I have a very simple situation which Jdeveloper 10.1.3 cannot handle.
I have user_1 who is owner of table_1 in database_1.
I have user_2 who created and owns view table_1 in database_2. User_2 owns view table_1 which is defined as select * from table table_1@database_1.
Now in database_2 i connect as user_2. After doing select * from view table_1 i can see all data in this view
Now in Jdeveloper I have a readonly viewobject; select * from view table_1 (connect = user_2@database2) . The SQL statement is valid (Test). When testing the ApplModule I can see the data in view table_1.
When I drag and drop the datacontrol on my JSP and run the JSP I get an ORA-00942 "table or view does not exist".
What is happening here ?????
Please try to reproduce this (should be easy) and help me.

ADF multiple row selection using checkbox

One of the basic feature missing in ADF 11g is multiple row selection using checkbox (ADF supports multiple row selection by CTRL+CLICK) and business users doesn't like the idea of CTRL+CLICK especially when the volume of click is more. Our requirement is to show the records as selected, on click of checkbox. We implemented multiple row selection by giving a checkbox and on submission, iterate all the rows and filter only selected rows for further processing. The approach works fine,but it is very slow when the volume of data is more, say 10 thousand rows. For 4 thousand records, iterating everything takes more than 200 secs !
Had the multiple row selection been the ADF standard way using CTRL+CLICK, and retrieving the selected rows using method theTable.getSelectedRowKeys() works much faster (completes in millisecs for 4 thousand records). Somehow ADF fetches the selected records much faster this way. Our requirement is on click of the checkbox, the ADF should select the records ( the same way it is doing CTRL+CLICK) and all such selected rows should be retrievable using the ADF method theTable.getSelectedRowKeys()
Is there any way it can be done?

We have implemented the select and select all using check-box and it is working fine. Issue here is the performance is too slow
Assume SelectValue is the VO coulmn for the checkbox to select the values. To filter out the selected rows, we use the following line

it is very taking more than 2 minutes if the total number of rows are *4 thousands* and only if 2 rows are selected.
Whereas with the CTRL+CLICK standard approach, ADF has a built in API theTable.getSelectedRowKeys(); to get only the selected rows, and the built in API takes only few milliseconds to get the selected rows. Users are not agreeing to the CTRL+CLICK approach as it is not user friendly. Suggest if there is a way to make the select box to make it work the same way as CTRL+CLICK.

Problem is that when i select single row checkBox, onCheck() method of backing bean gets called multiple times(equals to the number of rows)
I think this is beacuse of <af:selectBooleanCheckbox id is same that is "checkbox" but i am not sure.Even i tried to assign some unique id but no any success in assigning Id with value Expression.

From the simillar post i follow the steps given by Frank.but problem with below step
->have an af:clientAttribute assigned to the checkbox with the following EL #{row.key} ,here I added <af:clientAttribute name="#{row.key}"></af:clientAttribute> and i am getting error
Error(64,37): Static attribute must be a String literal, its illegal to specify an expression.
Please let me know if any one had already implemented same test case.

Multiple row selection capability in the table

I have a group with table layout style and I want to set the rowSelection property of the generated table to "multiple" but it seems that there is no way to do that from JHs unless using the group as LOV, which is not desired for me. Here is the code which sets this property in tableGroup.vm :

Ferez,
No, but if you want to have multiple selection, there is typical a custom action you want to apply to the selected rows, which cannot be defined in the Jheadstart Application Definition editor.
However, it is perfectly fine to use a custom tableGroup.vm template and enable multi-selection.

Handle multiple rows selection on Matrix

Hi all,
i'd like to know if someone could help me with multiple selections on matrix via shift + left mouse button on a matrix.
I got a matrix with one column containing a checkbox for selection. The matrix, on a UDO Form, is defined as auto selecting, so multiple selection of rows is allowed.
I want to add the rows selected by the checkbox (using shift + left mouse button on the selection start and selection end) column to the matrix selected rows collection.
Is there any chance to catch an event handling this situation?
I can add the rows in the matrix selected rows collection clicking the checkboxes one by one, but when i use the multiple selection i can't get any event handling this.
I know i couldn't use the checkbox for the selection and use instead the native function of sap b1 matrix., but this way is faster (and more clear, because you see the check when a row is selected) when you have multiple rows selected one by one
I hope i've been clear enough, and hope somene can give me an hint.

if I understand you correctly you want to select one row than shift+mouseclick some rows lower and the result should be, that all rows are selected ?
You can achieve this by catching the itempressed event and querying pVal.Modifiers.
This is an example for Grid :

ORA-01403: no data found Problem when using AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH to populate a form.
1) Created a FORM on EMP using the wizards. This creates an AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH
TABLE NAME - EMP
Item Containing PRIMARY KEY - P2099_EMPNO
Primary key column - EMPNO
By default the automatic fetch has a ‘Process Error Message’ of ‘Unable to fetch row.’
2) Created a HTML region. Within this region add
text item P2099_FIND_EMPNO
Button GET_EMP to submit
Branch Modified the conditional branch created during button creation to set P2099_EMPNO with &P2099_FIND_EMPNO.
If I then run the page, enter an existing employee number into P2099_EMPNO and press the GET_EMP button the form is populated correctly. But if I enter an employee that does not exist then I get the oracle error ORA-01403: no data found and no form displayed but a message at the top of the page ‘Action Processed’.I was expecting a blank form to be displayed with the message ‘Unable to fetch row.’
I can work around this by making the automated fetch conditional so that it checks the row exists first. Modify the Fetch row from EMP automated fetch so that it is conditional
EXIST (SQL query returns at least one row)

But this means that when the employee exists I must be fetching from the DB twice, once for the condition and then again for the actual row fetch.
Rather than the above work around is there something I can change so I don’t get the Oracle error? I’m now wondering if the automatic row fetch is only supposed to be used when linking a report to a form and that I should be writing the fetch process manually. The reason I haven’t at the moment is I’m trying to stick with the automatic wizard generation as much as I can.
Any ideas?

I don't really wan't the error page, either nothing with the form not being populated or a message at the top of the page.

ALV Grid multiple row selection, disabling some

Does anyone know if it is possible to have an ALV grid with multiple row selection allowed but for some rows the row selection is disabled?

Hi John,
You can add a check box and select multiple rows. I am using the same technique. I have used OO.
a) Use Even handler "Double Click"
b)Using "SELECT_ALL_ENTRIES CHANGING PT_OUTTAB TYPE STANDARD TABLE" and I am sorting based Check box selection.
Need more help please let me know. I will send you the code.

Strange behaviour when looping MIDI

Hi,
I encounter a strange behaviour when looping MIDI:
1) Created a new MIDI track
2) Recorded two bars of MIDI drum track (e.g. just a bass drum with Indie Kit Live) via my EDIROL and MIDI piano.
3) played it back: works
4) checked the "Loop" box
5) played it back: after the 4th repeat the drum pattern changes. either it misses two beats or does not play the bass drum but the hihat for two beats.
I'm using Logic Pro 8.
Can someone tell me what's going on and how this can be resolved?
Also on some occasions I have the following behaviour:
1) Recorded MIDI in loop mode (a few takes).
2) Played it back: Did not produce any sound.
3) Tried a different take from the take folder: Did not produce any sound.
4) Tried to mute/unmute track and different take from the folder: Did not produce any sound.
5) Tried to MIDI mute/unmute different takes from the folder: Did not produce any sound.
6) Closed/reopened project and MIDI unmuted the take: Played fine.
Thanks a lot for some help with those two problems.

Disabling multiple row selection in JTable

hi,
I have a JTable and I want to disable the multiple row selection.
I used
getSelectionModel().setSelectionMode(TreeSelectionModel.SINGLE_TREE_SELECTION);and this working fine with ctr+clicking on a row
but if i am using shift key instead of Ctrl key multiple selection is possible....
Any idea y?and how to resolve it??

Use table.setSelectionMode(ListSelectionModel.SINGLE_SELECTION);I don't know if it differs but I use it and I don't have the problems you describe. Might be a bug in your Java version?!
