JCO Error in Quality Portal

Hi ,
When i am running WDJ apps in dev portal , it's working fine . But when i am running through QA , it's showing the following JCO error .
Could not create JCO connection .Please ensure that you have nesured RFC destinations and/or logical system name properly for this model .
I tested the JCO in QA and it's working fine . Can anybody help me out regarding this .
And one more question , how to check JCO connections for WDJ apps inside NWDS  ?
Thanks a lot .

Hi Jain,
While using RFC Models in the WD application, we maintain JCo dstinations.
These are specifically used to create a JCo Connection between 1 Web Application Server and 1 R/3 System. If any one of them changes, you need to update the same in the JCo destinations created.
The point here is, as you have changed the Dev System to QA System, i.e. your Web Application Server, you will need to create / maintain the JCo Destination with the same name on the Quality System for use of the application.
The JCo connection that you have been testing, is, may be on your developemnt system.
Hope it helps.
Regards,
Alka.

  • Custom Error message in portal

    HI Experts,
    I trying to implement cutom error messages in portal. By Following the below link.
    [https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/community/docupedia/nw70java/blog/2010/03/21/custom-error-messages-in-the-portal]
    As of now I trying to implement it for error code "500".
    <error-page>
                 <error-code>500</error-code>
                 <location>/Customerrors/500.html</location>
           </error-page>
    </web-app>
    The above code I pasted in web.xml. 500.html is there in customerrors folder. I have also restrated the system.
    when I log in to portal system still I could see standard message coming for "500" code error not the custom one from 500.html.
    Iam using EP7.0 EHP1 .
    Thanks
    Surender Singh Dahiya

    Surender,
    I guess it should work in the similar fashion.However, I do not have access to a portal system now. Will try testing the scenario soon and keep you posted.

    Yes, we were able to resolve it.
    Try first identifying if you are facing the same problem or not. So login into your portal schema on sqlplus, and see if you get any rows for the following:
    select * from wwc_version$;
    If you do not see any rows, then it means that the portal user is not granted Select on wwc_version$. if that is the case, then grant it. and then try to run ptlconfig again.
    hope that helps.

  • Error handbook for Portal

    Hello experts,
    as I´m new to SAP NetWaever technology (in my case SAP Portal) and administration/monitoring issues I´m looking for an Error Handbook describing the most critical or the most common errors within a portal (based on Java AS).
    I hope, there is something like a "book of recipes" for solving common and critical errors...
    Additionally I would like to know if there is a tool which can analyze statistically errors... that means which can display a graph showing the distribution of errors depending of their category.
    This would be a great option to get an overview over the error area...
    I know about Visual Admin, NWA. However, what other possibilities do I have to prepare myself for the job of an administrator.
    How can I learn to monitor the system landscape and to take the right decision in case of error.
    Thanks in advane.

    Hi
    This is regarding weblogic 8.1.
    We have a portal project which contains several portlets. For handlingexceptions
    in a page flow we have a global error page at the project root level andeach
    portlet redirects to this error page /error.jsp in case of any errors.
    When the user is redirected to this error page the page is displayed inthe portlet
    context. How can we make this error page to take up the whole screen anddisplay
    it outside of the portlet context so that all other links within theportal (books
    and pages) are not displayed to the user.
    In all cases, the redirection to the error page occurs from a page flow.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sameer

    Install the 32bit version of the Java connector. BOBJ is 32bit so even on 64bit Windows you need the 32bit version of the Java Connector.

  • Transport workset to EP quality portal

    Dear All,
    I need to transport the workset to the quality system..please guide..i have gone through the How to transport EP 6.0 content but not able to get clear idea.
    Regards,
    Samir

    hi Samir,
    As mentioned above, you can use transport packages to transport your worksets.
    In your PCD, its helpful to create first a folder call "transport", so that you can use that folder to create all your transport packages.
    Then go to System Administration/transport packages (detail navigation)/Export.
    1) Drill down to the folder you created (like "transport"). Then right click the folder, select "New" and "Transport Packages". 2) Once transport package is created, its empty. So you will have to add the workset you want to transport into the transport package.
    3) Drill down the PCD structure till you find the workset and the roght click and select "Add object to transport package". The object will then appear in your transport package.
    Once you have all the workset ready, click on the "Export". Export the epa file into your local drive. This file will contain all your workset.
    Then logon to your quality system and navigate to the same path for transport packages. This time, select "import" and then navigate the path where you have your epa file in local and then import.
    Oh.. one important point, make sure that the folder you created for "transport" is identical between your Source (Test) Portal and your Target (Quality) Portal.
    Thats it !!
    Hope that helps.
    Ray
