JCO RFC error
Hi Gurus,
I have created two JCO Destinitation for my RFC, when i am trying to ping the connection it says "ping successful" but when i test i am getting the following error.
com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (103) RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: The initial password has expired; request a new one
Can anyone please help me on this , this was not coming in my pervious system for which i have created the conection.
Is someting wrong on the ABAP system ?
points will be rewarded for quick solutions.
Rakesh
Hello Rakesh,
Change the user type of the communication user that UME uses in Transaction SU01 to "System" (B) in the ABAP end.
FYI
Due to an error in the installation program (SAPInst) for NetWeaver 2004 and due to an incorrect documentation, the communication user used by the UME has the type "Communication" (C).This type is incorrect because it is subject to the mandatory password change and the initial password ageing just like type "Dialog" (A) (see Note 622464).
The following profile parameters affect the system's response:
o rfc/reject_expired_passwd
o login/password_max_reset_valid (ABAP 6.20 / 6.40) or
login/password_max_idle_initial (ABAP 7.00) and
login/password_max_idle_productive (ABAP 7.00)
In delivery status, these profile parameters are set in such a way that the RFC logon is not affected.
This information is at SAP note 959242.
Thanks
Pankaj

Please do check the validity of the certificate.
Please do cross check these steps again.
1. Transaction u2013 STRUSTSSO2 (Trust Manager for Logon Ticket)
2. Double Click Owner certificate. It gets reflected under the certificate tab.
3. Choose Format Binary
4. Choose File Path.
5. Enter the File Name
6. saved in local drive.
You can import into portal as x.509 certificate.
check this thread -
Certificate no longer has signature (use restriction)
Renew certificate via SAP MarketPlace, and install from tcode slicense. If you are working on a trial version, there is a SAP license request application form. Fill the form with the hardware key. you will get the new license via email. Install using slicense. Then try exporting the certificate.

Error while loading service JCo RFC Provider
When I click on the "JCo RFC Provider" node under services in Visual administrator, I get an error:
"Error while loading service JCo RFC Provider"
Does anyone know what has gone wrong here, and how I go about fixing it?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Richard
PS. We're using EP6sp14You have to use the correct Visual Admin version:
if your netweaver is 6.40 use VA 6.40 ... and for 7.00 the same, VA 7.00
(you get them from OS where netweaver is installed)
other possiblity: use Administrator login and check if it works, then correct your permissions (mostyl 'Administrators' group is missing)

JCO.Server Error while trying to execute a RFC program from SAP
Hi,
We are connecting to an external registered server program from SAP via Web Methods.
The external server program is registered with the SAP Gateway. We have created a TCP/IP RFC destination and are able to connect to the destination successfully via SM59.
An RFC function is created in SAP and is called using the syntax CALL FUNCTION "/NGN/BAPI_STRE_SEARCH_PROCESS" DESTINATION 'PRDB2B'. We have also handled the COMM_FALIURE and SYSTEM_FALIURE exceptions in the function call.
We are monitoring the gateway via SMGW and see a connection log to the RFC destination as below
Number - 10
LUname - dev01
TPName - sapgw00
User - KRAORANE
Status - CONNECTED
Symbolic - PRDB2B
Conversation - 86520353
Prot - REG
SAP return code - 0
CPIC rtn code - 0
The external program returns results as expected.
However sometimes the RFC fails and returns the message JCO.Server could not create server function /NGN/BAPI_STRE_SEARCH_PROCESS.
We are not able to figure what exactly is causing this error. Any help will be highly appreciated.

AjayHi Ajay,
I am facing the same issue and am trying to follow the note that you had suggested. The note says to create the dummy RFCs "PT_ARQ_ACCOUNTS_GET_CE", "PT_ARQ_REQLIST_GET_CE" and PT_ARQ_READ_CE_SWITCH, But doesn't say which package I should save the RFC/structures/table types in. I tried saving them in EA-HR, but got the following error. "EA-HR cannot be extended."
Please help.

RFC Error while trying to access function module from business connector
Hi,
I am getting the following RFc exceptions in BC server when we invoke the service pub.sap.client:invoke fail as a flow step in Idoc_Status_Add(this service is calling a function module in sap namely ZYBC_IDOC_STATUS_ADD_FROM_BC which Adds status to Idoc (from Business Connector).But no trace of failures are recorded in sap side

could anyone throw light on how this kind of error can be resolved and why it occured?
Thanks.What does the RFC trace file and log say? Has there been any dump on the SAP server? Check the logs and transaction st22 in your SAP system to see if the RFC-module has dumped.
My guess is the problem is in the RFC-module, I think you should start looking there.

Hi experts,
We tried to configure SSO using logon tickets on our EP 6.0 SP 16 system.
We created JCO RFC destinations in portal server giving the SAP target system's host name and service. Similarly, we created a new TCP/IP connection in the R/3 also with the same details.
We finished all the other procedures like importing and exporting portal certificates into R3 server.
Finally, when we tried to access the system from portal, the following error mesage is shown.
The following error text was processed in the system SER : An invalid type handle was passed to the RFC API.
The error occurred on the application server sapsbox_SER_10 and in the work process 0 .
The termination type was: RABAX_STATE
The ABAP call stack was:
Function: AC_FLUSH_CALL_INTERNAL of program SAPLOLEA
Function: AC_FLUSH_CALL of program SAPLOLEA
Function: AC_SYSTEM_FLUSH of program SAPLOLEA
Form: HANDLE_FLUSH_PBO of program SAPFGUICNTL
Form: %_CTL_OUTPUT of program SAPMSSYD
Module: %_CTL_OUTPUT1 of program SAPMSSYD
Does any one know why this is happening?
Did we miss out anything??
Please help
Thanks alot
ShobinAn ABAP runtime error ("RABAX") has occured.
You should analyze the problem in the ABAP system running ABAP transaction ST22. Well, obviously you've managed to call an ABAP function module, so it's not an authentication issue ... -
RFC error in idoc to file scenario in PI 7.0
Hi Experts,
I am getting a RFC error message like this below
:u201D RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE: An exception occurred that was not caught.: com.sap.aii.af.rfc.afcommunication.RfcAFWException: error while processing message to remote system:com.sap.aii.af.rfc.core.client.RfcClientException: JCO.Exception while calling Z_XI_SEND_MAIL in remote system (RfcClient[RFC_REJECTION_MAIL]):com.sap.mw.jco.JCO$Exception: (104) RFC_ERROR_SYSTEM_FAILURE: An exception occurred that was not caught.u201D
Here Z_XI_SEND_MAIL is a customised function module which is calling some classes. This function module is responsible for sending emails to a group of people. This function module is working fine in acceptance server and development server but throwing exception in production. Thus the users are unable to receive emails. There has been no code changes in the function module. Idocs are being triggrred from sap r/3 system into XI, then being processed by a BPM, finally RFC (Z_XI_SEND_MAIL ) is being called to send email messages. SXMB_MONI is showing that the email message is being send to the RFC properly but communication channel is showing the above mentioned error.
Please suggest me what might be the reason of such errors?
Regards
AnupamHello,
Have you tested the production data in your acceptance system or development system for the interface?
Is it working fine??
It seems that the function module is generating exception, which could be due to data.

Services in JCo RFC not getting started after Changing the client from 001
Hi SAP Stars,
I have recently Installed Quality and Production servers with PI 7.1 on windows 2003, Sqlserver 2005, when I'm doing Post Activities(http://host:port/nwa) in which I try to change the client from 001 to 300(newly created) in JCo RFC(4 services) and start the service it is throwing error when I again change it to 001 client and start the service it is getting started, Could anyone help me in solving this issue same issue I facing in PI 7.1 Quality and Production
Thanks In Advance
Anil KumarHi Anil,
All these JCo RFCs are client specific RFCs.
Please logon your PI NWA
Choose Configuration Management - Infrastructure- JCo RFC Provider
Then, Select the RFC
Under Details -> Choose Repository Configuraton
Change the client name to 300 (your new client)
Save
And repeat the same for all JCo RFC that you want to work for your newly created client.
Please ensure that you are using SAPJSF user & correct password for all these RFCs.
Ideally, these rfcs shuould work now if now please restart your PI (mostly Java alone also do)
I hope this helps you.

Live Auction's jCO RFC connection to SRM is NOT successful.
hi to all,
can any one help me about the configuration of RFC of live auction cockpit?
i have followed the inst guide, but i always keep getting this message.
RFC Error using locale en
RFC Error using locale ja
RFC Error using locale de
Your RFC connection between Live Auction and SRM has failed. Please verify the following:
Did you configure your SRM jCO setting (eg: jco.client.ashost, jco.client.sysnr etc) in Live Auction's properties?
Is the user specified in jco.client.user property exist in SRM with the correct role and password ? Please change the user to type dialog and try to logon via SAPGUI before changing it to communication user to ensure the user is NOT locked.
Did your SRM R3 has the code page installed that are specified in jco.client.lang ?
Please check the J2EE engine's log file to see more details of the error. Please refer to J2EE's documentation on how to view the log files.
thanks in advanceHi Ranin,
Have you checked the note 1593439 where it mentions:
If you are using Live Auction JAVA, you would additionally be required
to assign the Authority object S_RFC to the RFC user being used for
establishing a JCO connection between LACWPS JAVA Server and the SRM
ABAP backend system with the following values. This authority is not
needed in case you are using Live Auction on ABAP in SRM 7.0 Enhancement
Pack 1 (SAP SRM 7.01) or higher release.
Object Field Value
S_RFC ACTVT 16
RFC_NAME BBP_LA_BIZAPI
RFC_TYPE FUGR
Perhaps this is the problem?

JCO RFC provider: Server function not found, short dump
Hi all,
I'm trying to use the JCO RFC provider service of NW04s (SP15) together with an ABAP 4.6C system. I've followed all the documentation that I could find, but couldn't get it to work yet. This is what I've done so far:
Using SM59 I've had a destination APP_JK1 created for me on the R/3 system. AFAIK it's set up correctly and marked as a "registered server", connection tests were successful.
On the portal, I've created a RFC portal destination using my R/3 credentials and successfully tested it. Then I created an entry in the RFC provider service, using the correct values for system, id & gateway, and let it point to my RFC destination for the repository connection. The program ID is also APP_JK1.
Next, I created a stateless session bean which is part of an EAR, gave it a JNDI name of "RFCTEST" and added a method like this:
* @ejb.interface-method view-type="both"
* @param function called function
public void processFunction(com.sap.mw.jco.JCO.Function function) {
JCO.ParameterList input = function.getImportParameterList();
String query = input.getString("I_STRING_SEARCH");
JCO.ParameterList output = function.getExportParameterList();
output.setValue(query, "ECHOTEXT");
(The project uses xdoclet for the creation of J2EE stuff)
In application-j2ee-engine.xml located in the META-INF directory of my EAR, I've added:
<reference reference-type="hard">
<reference-target provider-name="sap.com" target-type="library">com.sap.mw.jco</reference-target>
</reference>
The application deploys without errors, and besides from my RFC connection works as expected. In the JNDI registry view of VisualAdmin I see the corresponding entry: "rfcaccessejb/RFCTEST" is a local reference to my stateless session bean.
On ABAP, I have a tiny little program that calls my function, mainly looking like this:
CALL FUNCTION 'RFCTEST' DESTINATION 'APP_JK1'
EXPORTING
I_STRING_SEARCH = query
IMPORTING
ECHOTEXT = t1.
Unfortunately, it short dumps immediately. The error message is:
JCO.Server could not find server function 'RFCTEST'
I'm lost. What could be wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated. Kind regards,
Christian AustHello Perry song,
You got the short dump bcoz, there is no perform by the name you provided in the program,
for example. consider there are 2 programs.
Program 1 :
REPORT ZPGM1.
*Calling a perform SNAME1 , the code of perform is written in ZPGM2.
perform sname1 IN PROGRAM ZPGM2.
Program 2 :
REPORT ZPGM2.
perform sname1 .
Form SNAME1 .
write : 'Text in form SNAME1' .
endform. " SNAME1
(here SNAME1 is found and it works perfectly )
Change in Program 1 :
REPORT ZPGM1.
*Calling perform DELTA ,
perform DELTA IN PROGRAM ZPGM2 IF FOUND.
Now the perform statement will search for perform " DELTA " in ZPGM2 , but there is no perform by name DELTA , so here we need to mention the condition " IF FOUND " , so now by mentioning the condition " IF FOUND " in perform statement , if the perform DELTA is not found then it wont go to DUMP.
If condition " IF FOUND " is not mentioned in perform statement like
perform DELTA IN PROGRAM ZPGM2 . ( This gives DUMP )
just type " IF FOUND " when u r calling a perform from other program ( i guess this will solve the problem ).
Hope it might be helpfull,
Regards ,
Aby

JCO connection error:Couldn't create JCOClientConnection for logical System
Hi All,
We are facing a production outage issue.
We have a Federated Portal Network setup where one of our producer goes down automatically (seems on heavy load).
On this Producer server we have 3 Web Dynpro applications deployed and default trace is full with JCO connection error saying Could not create JCOClientConnection for logical System: CSVMR_WD_MODELDATA_DEST.
We had issue with max allowed JCO connections so we changed the below mentioned parameters for JCO connection settings in portal:
u2022 Minimum value of JCo Pool Size in total = 80
u2022 Minimum value for CPIC_MAX_CONV per SAP Web AS = 320
u2022 Maximum Number JCo Connections = 160
Please let us know if we are missing on some settings, any help in this regard is appreciated.
Regards,
PriyankaHi,
As you have already increased the maximum number of connections/pool size but still you are facing this problem. I would suggest you to check the web dynpro application which might not be able to release/disconnect the JCO connection.
Please check this [Thread|How to close a model object connection for Adaptive RFC?; for more details.
