JDBC Adapter Error to conect to SQL Server 2005

Hi all.
I´m trying to conect to a SQL Server 2005 database, but facing this error:
UnsupportedClassVersionError: (com/microsoft/sqlserver/jdbc/SQLServerDriver) bad major version at offset=6'
The parameters are:
JDBC Driver: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver
Connection: jdbc:sqlserver://
How can I resolve this issue?
Thanks.

The jdbc driver seems to be incompatible. Use the compatible version from [http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=99B21B65-E98F-4A61-B811-19912601FDC9&displaylang=en|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=99B21B65-E98F-4A61-B811-19912601FDC9&displaylang=en]

  • Sender JDBC support the stored procedure in SQL Server 2005

    Dear All,
My question here is , Sender is JDBC adpter support to call the Stored procedure in Microsoft SQL Server 2005?
I followed the below thread before posting this question
Sender JDBC Adapter Supports Stored Procedures????
In the thread Suraj response has mentioned SAP note: 941317, I checked the note, Note says it supported only ORACLE DBMS versions.
Could you please clarify about this to possibility to call the stored procedure in Microsoft SQL server 2005?
    Thank you in Advance
    Sateesh

    Hi Sateesh,
To answer your query, Yes it does. SP call works with SQL Server 2005 as well, the SP call should be "execute SPNAME <paramas>". In the place of update statement put any junk value as mentioned in the earlier comment.
But just one thing to be noted, the select or any other query returning the desired resultset must be the first statement in youre SP returning value to the calling app. Means if there are any update, deletion or intermediate select queries to be used with in your SP, those all should be placed after the Main Select query that returns the desired resultset. Variable declarions and assignments are allowed.
But if the seq of statements in your SP are like:
    @var1 Varchar
    Update <tablename>....
    Select * from <tablename>
Then the output of the SP is :
    1 row updated
    <the resultset from select>
In such cases, PI can recognise the first value returned only, that is "1 row updated" and hence the returned resultset wouldn't be seen by PI or not be passed to integration engine. Hence the update should come after the main Select.
One more interesting piece of information, even if you copy and paste the entire SP code in place of the query string of Sender JDBC adapter, that too will work with all your variable declarations, multiple queries and updates and everything. Just have to follow the above rule.
Let us know what you find.

    Best regards,

There are more detailed logs for the various components. The one of interesting is the one for the engine or possibly the one for full-text.
These logs are extremely verbose, and the errors are rarely crystal clear, but at least give them a try. If you have problems, find a place to upload them (Dropbox, Skrydrive etc), so that we can look.
The closest at hand is that "group" that cannot be found is an AD group.

  • -net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver ERROR WHILE CONNECTING TO SQL SERVER

    Hi,
While making a new connection to Sql Server Express Edition Database, through Oracle Sql Developer i am getting a problem when retrieving the database. The error is "-net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver" .I have downloaded the "jTDS - SQL Server and Sybase JDBC driver " from sourceforge website, but i am confused about where to paste it.
    thanks.

I'm not sure why you are having the error but I am sure of the following:
    1. This forum is not appropriate for SQL*Developer questions.
    2. Or questions about code from SourceForge
    3. Or Microsoft products.
It seems unlikely this has anything to do with Oracle so I would recommend you find a forum related to the driver if one exists. Otherwise you can try the SQL*Developer forum but I would be there aren't more than a dozen other people on the product trying to do this.

  • SQL Server 2005 with an ODBC-JDBC Bridge

    Hello,
I use an ODBC - JDBC Bridge (because when I use SQL Server 2005 Driver JDBC Version 1.1, the text connection failed). I don't know why I can't reverse my model.
    What happened?
    thanks
    Billie

We have also a SQL server 2000 instance at the same server. Yesterday I have spoken with the sql server admin and he told me that he has disconnect the sql server 2000 databases whatever this means. :-D
Now all works fine. Thank you for your help
BTW I use the following connection string:
    jdbc:sqlserver://my_db_server;instanceName=my_instance_name;DatabaseName=my_db_name

  • Error deploying JDBC driver for SQL Server 2005

    Hi all
I'm trying to deploy a JDBC driver for MS SQL Server 2005 (downloaded [here|http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=C47053EB-3B64-4794-950D-81E1EC91C1BA&displaylang=en]). When I try to deploy it according to the instructions found [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/51/735d4217139041e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm] it fails.
The error in the logs doesn't give any useful information though. It only says Error occurred while deploying component ".\temp\dbpool\MSSQL2005.sda".
Has anyone else deployed a driver for SQL Server 2005, or perhaps have any suggestions of what else I could try?
    Thanks
    Stuart

    Hi Vladimir
That's excellent news! Thanks for the effort you've put into this. I'm very impressed with how seriously these issues are dealt with, specifically within the Java EE aspects of SAP.
May I make two suggestions on this topic:
    1. Given that NWA has such granular security permissions, please could the security error be shown when it is raised? This would help immediately identify that the problem isn't actually a product error, but rather a missing security permission (and thus save us time and reduce your support calls).
    2. Please could the role permissions be clearly documented (perhaps they already are, and I just couldn't find the docs?) so we know what is and isn't included in the role. The name is very misleading, as a "superadmin" is generally understood to have no limitation on their rights - so clear documentation on what is in-/excluded would be most helpful.
On a related topic, I came across another issue like this that may warrant your attention (while you're already looking into NWA security issues). I logged a support query about it (ref: 0120025231 0000753421 2008) in case you can retrieve details there (screenshots, logs, etc.). It's basically a similar security constraint when trying to create a Destination. I'm not sure if this is something you would like to include as standard permissions within the NWA_SUPERADMIN role or not, but I think it's worth consideration.
    Thanks again for your help!
    Cheers
    Stuart

  • JDBC Connection Error with Sql Server 2005

    Hi
I am trying to connect the Sql Server 2005 thru jdbc but I am getting the following error.

Please verify the connection properties and check that a SQL Server instance is running on the host and accepting TCP/IP connections at the port, and that no firewall is blocking TCP connections to the port.
    I am using sqljdbc4.jar (driver)

By using Jdbc thin driver are we able to connect to mssql 2005 through windows authentication or not? "thin driver" refers to a specific Oracle driver.
Far as I know both the current (not older) MS driver supports windows auth. Certianly the jTDS driver does.
If yes what is the procedure. One starts by reading the docs. If necessary then one googles.

    Hi Sireesha,
Some insights.....while using JDBC connector .
For JDK 1.1 environments, access to the "current working directory" mustbe granted.
For Java 2 environments, access to the temporary directory specified by the VM configuration must be granted. The following is an example of permissions being granted in the file java.security.policy for the C:\TEMP directory:
// permissions granted to all domains grant { // Permission to create and delete temporary files. // Adjust the temporary directory for your environment. permission java.io.FilePermission "C:
    TEMP

  • JDBC - MS SQL Server 2005 with multible instances

I want to get data from a Microsoft SQL Server via JDBC. We have such a scenario and till now it works fine. Now we have a second instance at the sql server and we want to connect to this instance. I've found the following MSD article:
    http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms378428.aspx
<b>SQL Server 2000 and SQL Server 2005 allow for the installation of multiple database instances per server. Each instance is identified by a specific name. To connect to a named instance of SQL Server, you can either specify the port number of the named instance (preferred), or you can specify the instance name as a JDBC URL property or a datasource property. If no instance name or port number property is specified, a connection to the default instance is created. See the following examples:
To use a port number, do the following:
    jdbc:sqlserver://localhost:1433;integratedSecurity=true;<more properties as required>;
To use a JDBC URL property, do the following:
    jdbc:sqlserver://localhost;instanceName=instance1;integratedSecurity=true;<more properties as required>;</b>
Because the named instance has no explicit port  I've tried to use the second one but this doesn't work. I've tried all possible combinations of these parameters but either I get an error or my adapter connects to the first instance
Any idea how I can connect to the second named instance?

We have also a SQL server 2000 instance at the same server. Yesterday I have spoken with the sql server admin and he told me that he has disconnect the sql server 2000 databases whatever this means. :-D
Now all works fine. Thank you for your help
BTW I use the following connection string:
    jdbc:sqlserver://my_db_server;instanceName=my_instance_name;DatabaseName=my_db_name

  • Error when calling a XI-webservice from SQL-Server 2005

    Hi all,
we have published a webservice with XI 7.0 (using the SOAP-Adapter) and try to call it from a stored procedure within SQL-Server 2005. Upon execution we receive the error
    "<SAP:Code area="MESSAGE">EMPTY_HTTP_REQUEST_RECEIVED</SAP:Code>" and
"<SAP:Stack>Empty HTTP query received; message processing not possible  </SAP:Stack>".
We are using the dll MSXML2.ServerXMLHTTP. The webservice is available and can be reached from other tools like SOAP-UI when using the same endpoint-URL. It is also possible to call the service from Visual-Basic using the same code.
Does anyone has any clue about what's causing this error?
    Thanks in advance!

It is clear that, PI service is working absolutely fine and the problem is calling it in your SP. I do not think you are calling a web service but actually sending a HTTP request to the server. An HTTP request and a SOAP call are different in terms of protocol. You would need to explore more on how to call web services from SQL SPs.. and the right place to search would be MS SQL Server Forums..!!

You might need to add the JDBC jar file for SQL Server to the classpath of the integrated WebLogic. See minute 8 here: http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/NBtoJDevProject/NBtoJDevProject.html

  • BI Publisher 11g - calling SQL Server 2005 stored procedure error

    Hi experts
I have been calling succesfully an SQL server 2005 stored procedure for the data model of a BI publisher report in 10g, passing it a customerNo parameter.
    EXEC     [dbo].[usp_WelcomeLettersConsumerNo]
              @CustomerNo = :sCustomerNo
However it does not work in 11g I get the error:
[Hyperion][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'is'.
which is frustrating as there is no 'is' in the statement (perhaps it is picking up :s?) - I wonder does anyone know if there has been a change in 11g that may be causing this?
    cheers
    Tim
