JDBC driver update

Hi
I want to update my JDBC driver version. It is now 9.0.1.4.0.
My application uses \jdev\jdbc\lib\classes12.jar and \jdev\jdbc\lib\nls_charset12.jar.
but the new version for Oracle DB 10.2.0.2.0 includes classes12.jar but not nls_charset12.jar.Well,I don't know what can I do?
1. update only classes12.jar?
2. do not update nls_charset12.jar or use another jar instead of it.
Thanks for helps.

  • Update of MySQL and SQL Server JDBC Driver does not work in 1.2.1

    Hi,
always after the update process is started i got the MySQL and SQL Server JDBC driver
    update notification.
But all the time after i install the update i got the notification again but no errormessage
that the update was maybe not successful ???
    Frank

    Ok
    then my subject was false
i always try to update the extensions and now i can see that they are updated on the filesystem but the IDE does not recognize them as updated
    ....\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\extensions\oracle.sqldeveloper.thirdparty.drivers.mysql
is available and new after the update process
    and under
    ...\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\tmp\update\oracle.sqldeveloper.thirdparty.drivers.mysql.5239.zip
the downloaded zip file is also available.
In the update window the message is that the extension with version 5206 is available
Maybe that is the problem cause the downloaded files are version 11.1.1.5239
if you look at the bundle.xml file inside the META-INF directory

  • JDBC Driver errors after installing Security Update 04-2007

After installing the latest security update for 10.4.9, My JDBC driver is no longer working. I'm running PHP & Mysql as a localhost for dev and I know that both are running but are not speaking to each other. I use SQL4X Manager to manage my DB and that can't access MySql. I have the same set up at work with out the security update installed and everything is working great which let me to believe that the security update muck'd something up. Anyone else have the same problem?

  • Upgrade MS SQL 2005 platform to MS SQL 2008 - Update the JDBC driver...

    Hello to all,
This is the second post that I created reporting this error because in the first one I open this message in group of "SAP on SQL Server" but without any kind of help from community:
    My problem is...
I´m planning to do an upgrade of a sap system (SAP ECC 6.0) from SQL Server 2005 to a SQL Server 2008 but I´m facing with a little problem. This system has two stacks - ABAP + JAVA - and because of that the Upgrade Guide to MS SQL Server 2008 describe which are the requirements for this upgrade DB platform, and one of them is this:
"If you use a Java system, you have updated the JDBC driver as described in SAP Note 639702"
... the updated of JDBC driver when we have in system a Java part, like it has in this case! But I´m with a serious problems to find in SAP System Files in Windows 2003 Server the four files that is mentioned in that note 639702. I can´t find it anywhere... in note says:
Depending on the SAP release and the system configuration, the driver files base.jar, util.jar, sqlserver.jar, and spy.jar are available in an installed system at:
    (NetWeaver'04, Java:) usrsap<SAP SID>JC<InstanceNumber>j2eejdbc
    (NetWeaver'04, ABAP+Java:) usrsap<SAP SID>DVEBMGS<InstanceNumber>j2eejdbc
    (NetWeaver 2004s:) usrsap<SAPSID>SYSexe<NUC|UC>Platformmssjdbc
But... still I didn´t find them! I also read other note 1109274 - New JDBC driver for NetWeaver 7.0 and higher but even so I still can´t find it!
Can you help me to find this files on my operation system? I have to update that JDBC... but of course for this task I have to find it first!!!
    Best regards,
    João Dimas - Portugal

    Hi,
Have you considered the possibility that the directory that was supposed to contain the jdbc drivers has been replaced by a recent kernel upgrade and you never noticed?
Anyway, looking forward, put in a new set of JDBC drivers in the correct location.
Also, with reference to the following point from the first note:
Check your JDBC Driver version before you download it. To do this, unpack the attached check tool SAPCheckVersion in the relevant JDBC directory (refer to the previous paragraph). Then open a command prompt there and execute the following command:
    SAPCheckVersion.cmd <server name> <username> <password>
Replace <server name> with the name of the database server, <username> and <password> with the logon data of an SQL user (for example, sa or SAP<SID>DB). If you call SAPCheckVersion.cmd without a parameter, the system displays detailed help. The tool supports both DataDirect and Microsoft drivers.
*The download name tells you which version of the driver you need to download from SAP Service Marketplace.*
Run this SAPCheckVersion and find out which drivers you need to download and then download them and use them.
    Regards,
    Shitij

    Hello John Feely,
Yeah I already know that you mentioned! In my first post/previous message I mentioned that, I already read the note 639702 and it was there I read that explanation... regarding that creation that you refer in the case of files are not in those directories, so you said that I could download this four files and put in there... but where? and how..? Sorry but that solution seems does not make any sense!
I also look other systems with double stack ABAP + JAVA and I one more time I didn´t see that directories or files that are mentioned in that note!! DAMN!
    Any tip?
    Kind regards,

    HI,
    I got a jdbc exception *" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException "*.
I have known that it is a Oracle JDBC bug and Oracle BUG number is BUG-6396242.
The problem is too many rows per database transaction and it is fixed at version 11.1.0.7 Oracle JDBC Drivers.
Here is the 11.1.0.7 Oracle JDBC Driver Readme.

    and the download
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/jdbc-111060-084321.html
    My question is :
*1.How to update oracle jdbc drivers with those downloads ?*
    (ps. I have replaced ojdbc5_g.jar, ojdbc5.jar, ojdbc6_g.jar, ojdbc6_g.jar in $ORACLE/jdbc, but it did'nt work. )
*2.My Oracle version is 11.1.0.6.0, will it be OK if only update the JDBC driver?*
*3.Do I need to update the jdbc driver where my program runs on the client side ?*
    Thanks for answers~ :)

Upgrade your database version to 11.1.0.7.

  • Sql Exception on Testing Configuration with SQL Server JDBC driver for XA

I have a requirement of analyzing the behavior of SQL Server JDBC data sources for XA transactions in our application. We have been using Non-XA drivers for both Oracle and SQL Server as we had no requirement for transactions spanning across multiple databases in past.I have setup and tested the XA driver for Oracle (Oracle Driver (Thin XA) for Instance Connections 9.0.1,9.2.0,10,11) in Weblogic 11g and its working perfectly for transactions spanning across two databases. No when I am trying to configure weblogic 11g R1 for Sql server JDBC driver to support XA transactions with driver details as follows,

  • Oracle JDBC driver 11.2.0.3 is reported as client version 11.2.0.2

    Greetings everyone,
I wonder if other folks are experiencing the same:
We have upgraded our JDBC driver to latest ojdbc6.jar (2,714,189 bytes) - 11.2.0.3
Everything looks great, except that on the server side it is reported as client version 11.2.0.2
    JVM side:
    ===== Database info =====
    DatabaseProductName: Oracle
DatabaseProductVersion: Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
With the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options
    DatabaseMajorVersion: 11
    DatabaseMinorVersion: 2
    ===== Driver info =====
    DriverName: Oracle JDBC driver
    DriverVersion: 11.2.0.3.0
    DriverMajorVersion: 11
    DriverMinorVersion: 2
    Database side:
    select client_driver, client_version from v$session_connect_info
    (null), 11.2.0.2.0
Is that expected behavior or the property is not updated between releases?

    Hi ,
Thank you so much for your reply.
That was the exact information that I needed.
Could you also tell me from where can I get the information of future releases.

  • Upgrade Oracle iAS 9.0.4.1 JDBC Driver to 9.2.0.8

    Hi,
I'm using Oracle Application Server 10g R1 (9.0.4.1) for a JDBC application that connects to an Oracle 9.2.0.7 Database.
Due to some NLS problems with JDBC connections which are out of the scope of this posting, I need to upgrade the JDBC Driver of iAS 9.0.4.1 to the latest JDBC Driver, closest to my database full version. Since there is no 9.2.0.7 JDBC Driver set, I downloaded the 9.2.0.8 JDBC Driver files for Java JRE 1.4 which is the jdk/jre of the iAS 9.0.4.1.
This set though, contains files ojdbc14.jar, ojdbc14_g.jar and ocrs12.jar and NOT the JDBC Driver files that are found in the ORACLE_HOME\jdbc\lib path of the iAS 9.0.4.1., and of course, replacing the existing with the new ones, does not work (does not update the JDBC Driver on the server).
How can this upgrade be archived?
Is anyone aware of the documented JDBC upgrade procedure for Oracle iAS 9.0.4.1, to driver version 9.2.0.8?
Why there is no classes12.zip or classes12.jar distribution in the JDBC driver 9.2.0.8 set?
    Thank you

  • 9.2.0.6 jdbc driver

Where can I get a 9.2.0.6 jdbc driver? Or does anyone know if the 9.2.0.5 jdbc driver will work for Oracle 9.2.0.6?
    Thanks

I believe JDBC 9.2.0.5 driver is not fully compatible with 9.2.0.6 as I am running into problems with update query which worked fine before I patched oracle. I changed the redo log sizes when applying the patch, but don't think that should have an effect. Is anyone else running into the same problem? My update query syntax is "update [table] set [parameter]=[value] where [condition]".

JDBC drivers set NLS parameters based on your locale settings. There are three based parameters: language, territory and character set. Maybe in your case JDBC driver 10.2.0.3.0 sets one of them with value that is not supported in Oracle Database 8.1.7.4. Character set is the first candidate for this. JDBC drivers use only Unicode character sets - there are a few new of them in Oracle Database 10g. 8 and 9 versions of JDBC drivers use UTF8 which is Unicode version 3.0 but in 10g is added Al32UTF8 which is Unicode version 4.0.

  • How to omit parameter values from exceptions thrown by the JDBC driver

Is there a way to get the Oracle JDBC driver to omit the parameter values from the message when it throws an exception?
We have an application that persists credit cards and when an exception is thrown by the driver, it's including the credit card number in the error message, which ultimately gets logged by the application. There are too many layers and locations, including OpenJPA, Spring, and our own application, where we'd have to massage the error data to remove that card number.
For example, we get the following exception:
Caused by: org.apache.renamed.openjpa.lib.jdbc.ReportingSQLException: ORA-20104: Permission denied
    ORA-06512: at "PROTEGRITY.PTY", line 57
    ORA-06512: at "PROTEGRITY.PTY", line 383
    ORA-06512: at "SUBSDSYS.TORDERPAYMENT_UPD", line 16
ORA-04088: error during execution of trigger 'SUBSDSYS.TORDERPAYMENT_UPD'
    {prepstmnt 6603044
    UPDATE PAYMENT
         SET CARD_HOLDER_NAME = ?, CARD_TYPE = ?, EXPIRY_MONTH = ?, EXPIRY_YEAR = ?, GATEWAY = ?
         WHERE UIDPK = ?
[params=(String) Test Test, (String) VISA, (String) 03, (String) 2012, (String) CREDITCARD, (long) 106901]} [code=20104, state=72000]

    at org.apache.renamed.openjpa.lib.jdbc.LoggingConnectionDecorator.access$800(LoggingConnectionDecorator.java:57)
The actual content of the message appears to come from the JDBC driver, not OpenJPA.
This particular example doesn't show the card number, but only exposed that possibility as a risk.
BTW: before you ask, for PCI compliance we're using a database layer service to encrypt the card numbers before they're stored in the table.
    Thanks much.

I would start looking at the source code starting here:
    org.apache.renamed.openjpa.lib.jdbc.LoggingConnectionDecorator.wrap(LoggingConnectionDecorator.java:192)

  • Connecting to SQLserver 2005 via Web Analysis using a JDBC driver

We are currently working on a web analysis suite and have been trying to create a SQL spreadsheet data object.
After downloading and supposedly installing the sqljdbc.jar driver, we are having problems getting a connection to MS SQL server 2005.
We set the classpath to this driver in the operating system (Windows server 2003) but are unsure exactly how to set this classpath in Tomcat 5.0.28 as recommended by the help file. We have tried editing the catalina.bat and catalina.50.bat in the \Hyperion\common\appServers\Tomcat\5.0.28\bin folder to point to sqljdbc.jar, but to no avail.
So....does anyone have any experience on setting up the JDBC driver for MSSQLServer 2005 and making a connection in Web Analysis. Could you please give a step by step account of how this is done?

    Hi,
In the past I have used two methods either updating the registry for the web application or by placing the jar file in the following directory
    \Hyperion\deployments\Tomcat5\WebAnalysis\webapps\WebAnalysis\WEB-INF\lib
If you do place it in that directory you will need to restart the web analysis web server.
Then in web analysis studio go to file > new > database connection >Relational
    Select Microsoft SQL Server
    JDBC Driver
    com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Connection string
    jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://<servername>:1433;DatabaseName=<dbname>;SelectMethod=cursor
    Enter username/password
There is always the Merant SQL server connection that can be used as well.
    Cheers

  • Sender JDBC adapter : Update SQL Statement : stored procedure

    Hi,
Can we use a stored procedure in the sender jdbc adapter in 'Update SQL Statement'.
The problem i am facing is like, we are selecting data from two tables in 'SQL statement for query' and then in 'Update SQL Statement' , we need to delete that data from these two tables.
Please let me know if it is possible.
    Thanks,
    Rohit

you can use a Stored procedure in the
    Query SQL Statement
    You have the following options:
    ·        Specify a valid SQL SELECT statement to select the data to be sent from the specified database.
    ·        Specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure, which contains exactly one SELECT statement.
The expression must correspond to the SQL variant supported by the relevant JDBC driver. It can also contain table JOINs.
so have your whole select and update as part of this single Stored procedure
