JDBC Receiver Sync

Hi,
I configured RFC -> JDBC(MS-SQL) sync scenario according to documentation and blog https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3928. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
Since I did not get any response I looked at the trace and found
<SAP:ProcessingMode><b><u>asynchronous</u></b></SAP:ProcessingMode>
Does anyone know what could be the problem?
How can a sync scenario in the IR/ID appear as an A-Sync during runtime?
Cheers,

Hi,
>> How can a sync scenario in the IR/ID appear as an A-Sync during runtime?
To my knowledge it is not Possible.
Can you check whether you have selected the right Message Interface with the Option synchronous and also check which Message Interface you have selected in the Interface mapping of the particular scenerio where you are facing the issue.
Mean time try the SLD cache refresh
To clear the SLD cache, from the Integration Builder main menu, choose Environment ® Delete Cache for SLD Data.

  • Broken pipe error in Sync Send JDBC Receiver:   Extremely Serious issue

    Hi forum,
I have a serious error in a JDBC->XI--> JDBC scenario,
Step1: I use a sender JDBC channel to select some distinct values from  a table say X, and update the same rows,
Query SQL Statement: select distinct Branch from dbo.X where status = 0
Update SQL statement: update dbo.X set Status = 2 where Status = 0
    Step 2: enter BPM
    Step 3: enter a loop
Step 4:make a synchronous call to the same table X, to fetch some records,
    SQL query: select * from X where status = 0 and Branch = i; Update X set status = 9 where Branch = i
Step 5: close loop,  this loop iterates for 5 or 6 times depending on i, which is no. of branches selected by the sender JDBC channel
so all the calls are to the same table, same databsse(SQL Server)
the problem is when this sync calls happens in the loop, it some times gives following error, which i se in RWB:
<b>Error Unable to execute statement for table or stored procedure. 'X' (Structure 'STATEMENT_X') due to com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: An exception occurred during the DBComms.transmit operation. Exception:Broken pipe (errno:32). Context:(2217)</b>
i have no way to trace the cause of the error, the database is perfect and the error logs in the SQL server shows no trace of any error,
    Note: It works sometimes
i dont know whom to approach, pls help
the issue is very very serious as its in production system,

    Hi Sudeep,
SAP Note 846079 - XI 3.0 JDBC Receiver: # of Retries on SQL Error w/o Effect
Please check the following SAP note also - 831162
Some info which i found there and can be relevant in to your scenario.....
Q: I am using a JDBC Receiver Adapter in conjunction with the  Lotus Domino Driver for JDBC perform an INSERT or UPDATE operation on a database. When sending a message to the receiver, the Adapter Monitoring shows the following error message:
    "java.sql.SQLException: [Lotus][Domino Driver for JDBC]Invalid cursor state"
Is there a fix for this issue?
A: To work around this JDBC driver problem, activate the Advanced Mode for the respective JDBC Receiver channel and configure the setting "Number of Retries of Database Transaction on SQL Error" to a value > 0. Additionally, make sure that the setting "Database Auto-Commit Enabled" is also active as the Lotus Domino Driver for JDBC does not support transactions.
Apply note 846079 before configuring this scenario.
Q: The TCP/IP connection to my database host is running over an unreliable network connection, i.e. the connection is sometimes interrupted. Consequently, I sporadically receive an SQLException regarding a closed connection in the system trace or audit log or the connection as well as the JDBC Adapter channel are hanging.
How can I work around this connectivity issue?
A: Enable the "Advanced Mode" for the respective JDBC Adapter channel and select the option "Disconnect from Database After Processing each Message".
Note that this might put additional load on your DBMS due to the creation of a new database connection for each message.
I dont have access to a database right now, so i am not able to check this.
Also check the JDBC driver compatability as mentioned in the above note.

  • JDBC Receiver Adapter -- Synch Select. ERROR

    Hello,
We have implemented the scenario described by Bhavesh Kantilal in blog 3928:
JDBC Receiver Adapter -- Synchronous Select – Step by Step
    /people/bhavesh.kantilal/blog/2006/07/03/jdbc-receiver-adapter--synchronous-select-150-step-by-step
    but modified to our requirements.
An Idoc is coming in, mapped to a sync receiver jdbc as described to collect data from a jdbc table.
Result when connecting the oracle database with the jdbc receiver adapter:
Error processing request in sax parser: Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'T_ST_MAINDRIVER' (structure 'STATEMENT'): java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
Oh, like to complete the information by the payload from the jdbc rec. connect:

    Hi Anil,
I am back on my JDBC problem and I am one step further!
Thank you for this hint. Looks like this is the solution.
So I like to add my next question !
My new error is resulting from my query command.
I have set "=" to find a specific entry as compare operation.
Error when executing statement for table/stored proc. 'IRIS.T_ST_MAINDRIVER' (structure 'STATEMENT'): java.sql.SQLException: FATAL ERROR document format in structure 'TABLENAME': unexpected value '=' for attribute 'compare' found
Looks like this is not ok .
This is my xml of this query:
    <ns0:MT_JDBC_LOOPUP_ID xmlns:ns0="http://www.xxx.org/excel">

    Hi Rajesh
Changing the DT per your suggestion result in the following error:
<SAP:AdditionalText>com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Error processing request in sax parser:
No 'action' attribute found in XML document
(attribute "action" missing or wrong XML structure)</SAP:AdditionalText>
Omitting the PROC_NAME element from the DT is not correct.
Also, I would also like to clarify that the variables of the DT I am using are:
    EDI_EXTRACT_ID is defined as string
    EDI_EXTRACT is defined as string
Because the variable p_res is mapped to nothing in the request payload it does not show.
I read in one of the posts that this is correct and the variable is used due to the fact the isOutput attribute is true.

    Effi.

  • Proxy-Soap-Jdbc  Async/Sync Bridge

    Hi,
I have proxy soap requestsoap response-jdbc syncronous scenario. i have used async/Sync bridge for that.
I m getting NO_RECEIVER_CASE_ASYNC, No receiver could be determined error.
    I have created :
2 Datatype for proxy sender and jdbc receiver and 2 MT
    6 Service interface :
one abastract syncronous for proxy sender and jdbc receiver
one abstract asyncronus for proxy sender
one outbound asyncrous for proxy sender
one abstract asyncronus for jdbc receiver
one inbound asysncronus for jdbc receiver
one abstract syncronous for SOAP request and response
2 message mapping for request and response
1 operation mapping  using  abastract syncronous for proxy sender and jdbc receiver with   abstract syncronous for SOAP request and response
    BPM steps
    two container request and response
    receiver- send1- send2
receiver for asyncrous and file request
send1 for syncrouns for request and response
    send2 for asyncrouns response.
    Activated the IR.
    ID Part.
Imported BPM from Design and created two business component one for SOAP receiver and one for proxy sender and jdbc receiver.
Created 3 Reciver Determination as proxy sender to bpm, bpm to soap, bpm to jdbc receiver.
Created 3 IInterface Determination as proxy sender to bpm, bpm to soap, bpm to jdbc receiver.
Created 2 Receiver Agreement as  bpm to soap, bpm to jdbc receiver
Activated and run the proxy . in sxmb_moni i m getthing No receiver could be determined error.
I have checked the BPM ,No semantic errors found.
cleared the cache with sxi_cache and full refresh url.
Please suggest me with above details.
    Regards
    Laxmi Bhushan Jha

like in operation mapping we have abstract syncronous interface which has proxy as sender and jdbc as response
receiver to SOAP reuest and response...
Either of us seem to be confused!
This is your scenario (as per my understanding)
    Receive (Proxy_message) --> Transformation --> Send (Mode = Sync...SOAP message) --> Transformation --> Send (mode = Async..JDBC req)
If the requirement is correctly understood by me then:
You should have one ASYNC-Outbound and ASYNC-Abstract interface for your Proxy-side.....proxy to be developed on the ASYNC-Out interface.
You should have a SYNC-ABS and SYNC-IN interface for SOAP req and resp.
You should have one ASYNC-IN and ASYNC-ABS interface for your JDBC side.
    Mapping to be developed between PROXY_Async and SOAP_Req_Async & SOAP_Resp_Async and JDBC_Async.
    Regards,
    Abhishek.

  • JDBC Receiver - Muliple parallel connections?

    Hi ,
Does the Receiver JDBC adapter support multiple parallel connections to the database. Can the calls be made in parallel. If yes then where is this parameter (maximum connections) set?.
I was testing an RFC to JDBC sync scenario... My call from the RFC were in parallel (after I increased the max connections in the sender RFC).. but I did not find a similar parameter in JDBC....the db team reported that only one connection was created from Xi...

Have a look at the possible performance enhancement options at JDBC receiver:
    1. You may increase the thread count for JDBC related queues. This has to be done in accordance with SAP Note 1084161.
    2. There is parameter in JDBC communication channel called Maximum Concurrency. It signifies that one communication channel can make how many connections to database. This is 1 by default and could be increased to some values like 3-4.
    3. In the Visual Admin/ NWA, there is a parameter called as queueParallelism.maxReceivers which defines the number of parallel worker threads for one receiver channel instance. This should be done following SAP Note 1136790. This can be done along with the first point.

  • Synchronous  JDBC Receiver Adapter

    Hi,
My requirement is JDBC--- XI --- JDBC (Sync) — JDBC.
Let me be more precise about the above scenario.
JDBC sender picks up a record from DB1 and sends to DB2 and gets a response from DB2 and send the response to DB3.
I am sure this can be handled only through BPM.
But my question will a JDBC Receiver adapter gets a response back to XI. If this is possible , can some one tell me how can I achieve it.
    Thanks
    Shaik

<i>I am sure this can be handled only through BPM. </i>
    BPM required.
    <i>
But my question will a JDBC Receiver adapter gets a response back to XI.</i>
    Yes.
The weblog by Bhavesh would also b helpful.

  • Calling stored procedure multiple times in the JDBC receiver

    Hi,
I am calling the stored procedure(SP) to update a DB table in the JDBC receiver.
SP has 10 input parameters, and SP can receive one value for each parameter at a time.
In my case, i will have multiple rows to insert using SP.i.e multiple values for each parameter.
Its working correctly for a single value for each parameter, but when i have multiple values i want to call the SP multiples times.
    Is this possible and how?
    Thanks,
    Varghese.

    Varghese,
I think you can have multiple statements in the JDBC Adapter's XML, as in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2e/96fd3f2d14e869e10000000a155106/content.htm.
Here the StatementName1 node can be inserted into your JDBC XML as often as you want.
    Kind regards,
    Koen

  • Not able to insert the data in JDBC receiver

    hi Team,
Please help me i am working on IDOC - JDBC interface i am not able to insert data into the table.
error says that table doesn't exists, but if i check in the database the table exists..
below is the error getting triggered.
could not execute statement for table/stored proc."A_PORDER_REG"(structure " STATEMENT") due to
java.sql.SQLException: ORA - 00942 table does not exist
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vishnu vardhan.

Might be u have given table name is diffarent, table name must be match in table field of jdbc receiver structure and table name of data base tables.both places u must give the same table names . this is one reason another one u might be given jdbc structure is wrong. u must specify jdbc structure like this.
       STATEMENT
       TEST
action(attribute) (action u specify as INSERT)
TABLE( here  u give the table name )
access ( below u write the fields)
and one more is u check the receiver communication channel in that u check properly u have given jdbc drivers, connections , user name and pass word.
check all those things definatly u wil find the error.

    Rahul,
    > In this case i believe the interface has to be synch.
    > So what will the response message type be like..
Not necessary. UPDATE can be asynch as well.
Can you turn the trace on like pointed by Michal and then you can see the Query in the Audit Log of the adapter montioring. Try to execute the same query from your DB Client like TOAD and see what is the Syntax error you are getiing.!
The problem looks like some field has some dataype / column name mismatch.

The value for %Name can change dynamically according to the transaction and hence cannot be inluded as a KEY element in standard XLM structure,
    Hence I need to know:-
    1. What message mapping I should use in case if I have to use Native SQL statement.
2.What operation mapping I should use in case if I have to use Native SQL statement.
If guess correclty I may have to use Java mapping to do the above activities. Hence I want to know
3 .How do to go about it to do the Java mapping.
    Thanks

You can use a stored procedure, and call it from jdbc receiver adapter.
I also solve this issue, with a DBLookup in message mapping. You can refer to my blog, and this usefull 3d:

  • Using TEST mode in sender file channel to trigger jdbc receiver channel

    Hi
In order to call a jdbc receiver channel every 15 minutes I intended to use a file sender channel as a trigger where I set the Processing Mode to TEST. However, I would like to make multiple simultaneous different calls to the jdbc receiver channel, so I have multiple files in the folder, where the file sender channel is listening. Quality of Service in the file sender channel is set to Best Effort as the call is syncroneous.
However, because the messages in the folder are not deleted, only the first message is being processed no matter whether I choose Processing Sequence "By Date" or "By Name".
I would like to avoid having to create 15 folders containing one message each, so is there another way of doing it?
By the way, I redirect the response from the jdbc receiver channel to a different folder, but I think this is irrelevant in this case.
    I use PI 7.11
    /Mikael

Thanks for your answer, but I would like to avoid using Availability planning.
Right now I am thinking about using "Advanced selection for source file" and then just specify 14 different folders here each containing one trigger message, but it seems that only the oldest message (if I choose Processing Sequence = Date) or the first message alfabetically (if I choose Processing Sequence = Name) is being processed across the many folders which I think is very weird!

  • What to specify in my JDBC receiver communication channel

    Hi!
In my Receiver comm channel I have selected
    Adapter Type:JDBC
        Receiver
    Transport protocol: JDBC 2.0
    Message Protocol: XML SQL Format
    Adapter Engine: Integration server
    JDBC driver:??????
    Connection: ??????
I dont have any idea as what to give here, How do i check which JDBC driver i am using? and also Connection parameters?
    Help me
    Thanks
