JDBC Sender---Please respond Immediately.

HI Friends
Iam working on JDBC Sender.
I gave the Poll interval in ID as 60 sec. I want the database to be hit after whenever a row is updated.
Iam giving the select query as
<b>select * from vendormaster where search_term='X'</b>
and giving the update command as
<b>update vendormaster set search_term=' '</b>
So the select command executes only once.
Now Iam updating the search_term to 'X' in the oracle database using the SQL Command in SQL Plus. But it is not getting reflected in XI. It is not retrieving the Data.
<b>What should be the select and update commands if I want to hit the database(retrieve the data) whenever a row is updated from outside of XI.</b>

Hi Narayana,
I tried a similar scenario few days back, I used the following select and update commands:
Select Name,Age from <<i>Table Name</i>> where Name = 'Joshi'
Update <<i>Table Name</i>> set Name='Varun'  where Name='Joshi'
I hope if it helps, you'll give me points
Thanks & Regards,
Varun Joshi

  • BLUETOOTH: APPLE PLEASE RESPOND IMMEDIATELY!!!!

Thousands of users experience the same issue since upgrading to yosemite. Bluetooth devices will not connect. I love the Magic Mouse, in fact it's the only mouse I use on my Mac. Since Yosemite-Bluetooth refuses to connect to bluetooth devices, this is like a system freeze. The Mac becomes nothing but a chunk of hardware. Impossible to navigate, impossible to use.
Please Apple fix this immediately or send me replacement for the magic mouse. Send all the users with the same issue a wide keyboard and a wired mouse! Only this way we can continue to use our Macs.
I don't like to do this, but I might start a campaign with the only goal, that any Yosemite user has the right to claim a free keyboard and mouse
Resetting PRAM did solve the problem until next sleep mode / restart.
Restarting doe's not fix the issue

    Hello Jo Pru
Check out the article below to troubleshoot issues with sending email from Mail for Mac. Check in Connection Doctor to see if there is anything that could be preventing from sending it out. Also look to see if how big the email is as that could be an issue with the message sending out.

  • JDBC/SQLJ Team - Please respond - invalid column type error

Hi, I have posted several messages regarding problems using SQL/J to call out a stored packaged function that returns a ref cursor, but haven't gotten one response. I have yet a new problem with it. JDBC team, please acknowledge!
I change the way I obtain a connection to the database from using the Oracle.connect along with a properties file, to now using a DataSource connection pool. As a result, I am constantly getting a SQLException: Invalid column type error. If I change the call to the stored function to a query in the SQLJ code, it's fine. What's going on??
A previous message I wrote stated I was constantly getting a "closed statement" error when I tried to call the next method of the iterator. I corrected this by removing the finally clause in the generated JDBC code that released the execution context.
Again, the environment is JDK1.2.2, SQLJ 8.1.6 SDK, JDBC 8.1.6 thin, all on NT.
    Thanks
    David

I am getting the same error message - Invalid Column Type. I am creating a Default Context by calling Oracle.getConnection(connection) passing in an instance of my own connection class that basically delegates to the OracleConnection. We wrapped the Connection so that we could trap and recover from lost database connections.
My environment is Solaris 2.6, Oracle 7.3.4 with Sqlj 8.0.5.
    Thanks!

  • Stuck with logical system name for JDBC Sender system!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi All,
    I'm doing a scenario as JDBC2FILE.
I tried to add my jdbc sender system to SLD. So i created the technical system
now i'm creating business system...what should i give at logical system name tab? I've created tech system and business system as third party.
do we need logical system name in this scenario where we are not interacting with any R/3???
can anyone suggest the way to achieve this scenario?
    Thanks in advance.....
    Santhosh.

    Hi Santhosh,
I just want to add ons..few more information which it might help you.
You no need to give logical system when you are using Thirdpaty.
Please check the below blog you will get more idea how to proceed to achieve the JDBC Scenario.

  • Update query not working in the JDBC sender Communication channel

    Hi,
We are working on JDBC to File scenario. As per the configuration, XI should pick the data from SQL database every 20 secs and should update the corresponding flag. We are using subquery in the select and update statement as both header and detail tables are involved.
Now the issue is, select query is working fine but update statement is not working as expected. It is somehow updating some other records rather than doing for the ones selected by the adapter.
Moreover logSQLstatement is also not working. Hence we are unable to identify the records which are getting updated.
    Please advise.

    Hi Rumi,
    See Question 8. Transaction Handling (Sender) in [SAP Note 831162 - FAQ: XI 3.0 / PI 7.0 / PI 7.1 JDBC Adapter|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1wdCZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=831162].
    8.  Transaction Handling (Sender)
Q: If I have the following configured in a JDBC Sender:
    Select Query:
SELECT column FROM TABLENAME WHERE FLAG = "TRUE"
    Update Query:
UPDATE TABLENAME SET FLAG = "FALSE" WHERE FLAG = "TRUE"
How do I know that the JDBC adapter will not update newly added rows (rows that were
added between the time that the SELECT and UPDATE queries were executed) that were
not read in the initial SELECT query?
A: The SELECT and the UPDATE are run in the same DB transaction, i.e. both statements
have the same view on the database.
Make sure that both statements use the same WHERE clause. An additional
requirement for the correct operation of this scenario is the configuration of
an appropriate transaction isolation level on the database
(i.e., repeatable_read or serializable). You might also consider using a
"SELECT FOR UPDATE" statement instead of a plain SELECT statement to
ensure proper locking on the database. "SELECT FOR UPDATE"
is not supported in MS SQL database. In this case please make use of an
appropriate transaction isolation level on the database. For more details
    please contact your DB vendors.
After, see Transaction Handling Issues in [SAP Note 1039779 - JDBC Adapter issues(Escape character,Transaction handling)|https://websmp130.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1wdCZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1039779].

  • Event Handling in JDBC sender adapter

    Hi,
please help me in this scenario.
Scenario is Third Party will update the Header and Item values in to Database table.
Once the update is done , a program will run in Thrid party system and it will update the Event Table with the primary key value of the DB table.
So my JDBC sender should be looking for the event table updation. Whenever there is an update in the event table the JDBC sender should automatically kicked off and it should select all the field in the DB table where the primary key = Event table.primary key and the values will be generated as an Idoc.
1.How will i achive this scenario.
2.How to configure the JDBC sender Adapter which gets triggered automatically when there is an updation in event table.
    please advice.
    Thanks,
    Sujatha

    Hi,
    >>2.How to configure the JDBC sender Adapter which gets triggered automatically when there is an updation in event table.
There is way to control the Communciation Channel externally. Refer this help document http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/EN/45/0c86aab4d14dece10000000a11466f/content.htm.
Or alternately you can create a query that always queries only the updated record and configure the JDBC adapter which would periodiocally look the DB...

    Hi Hiren
When I test the MM without the xmlns attribute, I get the following error:
The prefix "ns0" for element "ns0:MT_Material_Consumption_JDBC" is not bound.
When I add the xmlns attribute, the mapping is successful.

  • DELETE Querey in JDBC SENDER

    Hello all,
I am trying the JDBC to file Scenario. There are 5 records in a table, i can see the records in the MONI being successfully picked by the sender jdbc adapter, after being picked up i want those records to be deleted. So i write a DELETE statement in the UPDATE SQL Querey but i cannot see those records deleted from the database. i think i need to specify some COMMIT which i am not sure of, can you please provide me your suggestions for deleting records from database.
    Thanks in advance

  • JDBC(Sender)-XI-RFC (Request) RFC (Response)-XI-JDBC(Receiver)

    Hi All,
    JDBC(Sender)-XI-RFC (Request)
    RFC (Response)-XI-JDBC(Receiver).
Need some solution for sending email for successfully completion of scenario after updating SQL DB Table.
    Let me explain the scenario:
We are pooling the SQL DB table to pull the records and map the records to RFC request parameters, after successful Posting the entries in R3 HR, RFC response contain the same with E (Error) S (Success) records status, we are updating the same in SQL DB table, I implemented the complete scenario without BPM with the help of module processor in Sending JDBC Adapter, scenario is working fine but now we have to send the successful mail to our support team with status contain Number of success, Error and total records as email.
I need the solution how to implement the same requirement in current scenario.
Is their way to do something with the RFC receiver adapter module addition to send the successful mail or generating Alert with all the description?
I am at PI 7.0 SP12 with HP unix box.
Thanks in Advance for creative idea
    With Regards
    Sunil

    Hi Bhavesh,
Thanks for your help and your blog is really helpful. I implemented the UDF for generating Email Alert but this alert is generating before Updating the SQL Database, is their any way to generate alert after updating the SQL.
Actually in my scenario we are sending the data from SQL to R3 by RFC and again updating the SQL status whatever the RFC return, after successfully updating SQL we need to send success email to support people but if we are sending the email before updating the DB then their will be problem.
JDBC receiver after updating the SQL DB returns the response with No. of row updated but how to capture this response, if we can capture this response then we can send email through email adapter even their is one more problem, In my scenario I am counting the number of rows with status “S” and “E” and sending the same in alert email but if are sending email after updating the SQL DB where can hold the row count value and use it while sending the email.
Implemented the scenario without using BPM..i am using sender JDBC module processor for Syn-Asyn bridge.
Even I do not find the link to reward point. Please let me know how to do it.
    With Regards
    Sunil

  • Stored Procedure call from JDBC sender for Oracle Database

    Hi,
I have a requirement to call stored procedure using JDBC sender adapter for retriving data from an Oracle database.
I need to execute first stored procedure call from Querry SQL statement and then trigger second stored procedure call for confirming the succesful retrival of those records from the update SQL statement.
    Querries:
    1. Can we trigger stored procedure from Update statement of JDBC sender.
    2. Can we call stored procedure from Querry statement, since I have read on other sdn threads that stored procedure calls on Oracle database are not allowed. If not possible to have "Execute stored procedure" would the function call (select * from table(function name)) work same as stored procedure.
    3. In a JDBC sender the Querry statement and Update statement are executed in same session call and same database connection. What happens if the querry statement was not succesful, would the update be still triggered.
Please note PI does not have direct access to main table and hence the need to have separate stored procedure calls.
The PI version is PI 7.11 sp4.
    Appreciate your inputs.
    Thanks.
    Siddhesh S.Tawate

    >1. Can we trigger stored procedure from Update statement of JDBC sender.
I think not possible using update statement.
    > Can we call stored procedure from Querry statement, since I have read on other sdn threads that stored procedure calls on Oracle database are not allowed. If not possible to have "Execute stored procedure" would the function call (select * from table(function name)) work same as stored procedure.
Yes using select query you can call stored procedure.
    >. In a JDBC sender the Querry statement and Update statement are executed in same session call and same database connection. What happens if the querry statement was not succesful, would the update be still triggered.
No select and update handles in the same session using the same thread so if one transaction fails update should not proceed.

  • JDBC sender channel running but not picking up the data from sp

    Hi,
One of the jdbc sender channels in production is running at its schedule time but it is not picking up the data from the sql side, we have checked with the sp side and they are saying that sp is running fine. No changes have been done in its configuration. Last message coming in RWB  is Retry interval started but that is of 1 day and its already been 3 days. I tried by starting and stopping the channel but of no use. The channel was re activated but that also didn't help.
Please help, what can be the reason for the same.
    thanks.

    Hi,
The JDBCadapter ( The respective channel) is definitely locked in PI . Ideally for each polling interval a lock is being created and once the processing is over , the lock should be released/deleted automatically to allow further polling interval. If the lock is not released by the system automatically, further polling will not happen as expected. ( This may affect all sender JDBC adapters as well. I would recommend to do a check in all sender JDBC communication channels)
You can see/delete the locks in Visual admin.
Go to Server>Services->Locking adapter and click refresh
The entries for JDBC adapter ( with name $XIDBAD.JDBC2XI) should be deleted by selecting those particilar entries and click delete selected locks.
If you have more than one node, then same should be done in all server nodes.
The temprory solution would be creating/copy the existing channel in ID with same properties and assign it into particular sender agreement.
But, the lock may be created again which potentailly stops all your database interfaces. Hence i would suggest to use Disconnect From Database After processing of Each messages in Advanced tab in the sender JDBC adapter.
    Hope this solves your issue.
PS: The same bahaviour would expected for all file adapter as well

  • JDBC Sender adapter - Oracle - Stored Procedure - Error

    Hello,
Need few clarifications on JDBC sender adapter and stored procedures when connecting to Oracle DB.
My scenario is, Oracle to SAPBW. So in sender JDBC adapter, we have used a SP having multiple SQL statements it, esp. one of the SELECT statment having Joins on a table and View.
    My questions are,
    1) Is it possible to have more SQL statements in SP for Sender JDBC?
    2) Is the SP of Oracle DB returns resultset or cursor?
I have tried in searching the forum perticularly for connecting to Oracle as Sender and below like said  that there is a limitation of XI JDBC when connecting to Oracle.
Executing an Oracle Stored Procedure from Sender JDBC adapter
So please clarify the doubts and help me.
    With regards,
    Jilan

    Hi Jilan,
Unlike what was mentioned in the link given by you that oracle returns cursor and not resultset is not completely true. It may be difficult but certainly not impossible.
    Refer : http://www.enterprisedt.com/publications/oracle/result_set.html

  • JDBC sender adapter outofmemory error

    Dear friends,
We are getting following error on JDBC sender Adapter: Error during conversion of query result to XML: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space (failed to allocate 1073741848 bytes)
I have read blogs where there have been suggestions to limit the amount of data picked by using WHERE condition and not using SELECT *
In our scenario we are creating GL IDOCs . In SQL when PI picks it up it needs to get all the corresponding Header and line items together. We cannot randomly pick 1000 records at a time. The SQL table has 500,000 rows in the following format
    H H H  L1 L1 L1
    H H H L2 L2 L2
    H H H  L3 L3 L3
    H1 H1 H1 L1 L1 L1
    H1 H1 H1 L2 L2 L2
    H1 H1 H1 L3 L3 L3
Please let me know how can we solve this issue?
    Thank you,
    Teresa
Edited by: Teresa lytle on Sep 27, 2011 3:13 PM

If you are using oracle database, uses ROWNUM field to fetch first set of records and you can update those records with the flag as true.
similarly If you are using MS SQL database, uses SELECT TOP command to fetch first set of records and you can update those records with the flag as true.
Like File/FTP adapter, the next poll interval would be as scheduled. The Administrator can then alter the table contents, to ensure lesser no of records are picked up.
Here You need to limit the no of rows if you again face the problem. Please chec the SAP Note
