JDBC version used by deployed applications

Hi,
I'm deploying my app to an Oracle Application Server and was wondering what determines the version of JDBC version my app uses? Is it determined by the version of the Application Server I'm running? Or can I change it by changing a path on my Application Server? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

SQLite 3.6 seems to be the supported version as per Oracle JDeveloper 11g Release 2 (11.1.2) Certification
Make sure you are using the drivers as per the same.

I am trying to connect JDeveloper with SQLite database using Generic JDBC driver. The driver I could find is JDBC 3.0 compatible. I am able to make a connection in the database navigator and browse through the database object. I am also able to create business components (EO, VO and AM) using a table in SQLite database. So connection works well. However when I test the Model by running Application Module, I get the below error.

As I understand from the JDBC driver forum, the driver does not implement the abstract method isClosed() since it is not used in JDBC 3.0. I assume that JDeveloper/ADF is using JDBC 4.0.
My questions are
i. is there a way by which I can confirm the JDBC version used by JDeveloper?
ii. Can I change it to use JDBC version 3.0?
My Jdeveloper version is 11.1.2.2.0 and Java version is 1.6.0_24.

Install agent on solaris 10 using agent deploy application?

Hi all,
I have installed 10g grid control on solaris 10 with new repository database on same machine.
The OMS, and agent is running on grid host.
Now I want to add other hosts (targets) into grid. For this, I have to install agent on target hosts. I am using agent deploy application method for installation of agent.
It is giving error
Istall --> Failed
"Pre-Install Script is Not Executed, Install is Failed, Run root.sh is Not Executed, Post-Install Script is Not Executed, Collection of Logs is Success"
version for agent and OMS is 10.2.0.1 and for repository database is 10.1.04
any idea, how to troubleshoot this?

Did you get answer? I had same problem on agent 10.2.0.4 deployment on linux 2.6.9-55.ELsmp.

How to know which type of jdbc driver used in my application.

My approach will be....
Type1: you have to have ODBC s/w install on your machine...even the connection string starts with jdbc:odbc....so it can be identifed easily
Type2: you have to install client s/w in your machine...if you are using oracle oci driver ...you need to install oracle client s/w
Type3: you use servername / port to connnect to middleware
Type4: you do not need any client s/w
So, If your application works without any client s/w on your machine....you might be using Type4/Type3 driver.....otherwise Type2

Get weblogic deployment version from webcenter portal application

Hi everybody,
I was wondering whether it is possible to retrieve the version number of a deployed webcenter portal application from the application itself. The usecase here is that we want to display the version number in the portal application itself. I have set the current version in the MANIFEST.MF and the deployment works and provides the correct version number. Now I am wondering how to retrieve this value. I have tried reading from the MANIFEST.MF from within the application but I only manage to get the manifest for the webcenter framework... (This is undoubtedly because it reads from the WAR and not the EAR)
I am using Webcenter Portal 11.1.1.6.
Any pointers?

Hi! Thanks for your reply. I think you may have misunderstood me. I do not need the server version, but the version of a deployed application on the server. (like "portalapp (V1.0)") Using the MANIFEST.MF I can specify a version.
I can see there might be a way to do so by connecting to the weblogic server using the method referenced by you but I wonder if there could be an easier way.

My sender adapter is throwing the below error:
Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:nwmss:sqlserver://<host>:<port>;databaseName=<dbname>' using the JDBC driver 'com.sap.nwmss.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver': 'java.sql.SQLException: [NWMss][SQLServer JDBC Driver]This driver is locked for use with embedded applications.'
What could be the problem? How can I resolve it?

I made an ADF application using oracle JDeveloper 11g and it ran successfully from the JDeveloper
I deployed it to Weblogic 10.3 and it successfully deployed
But when i Opened the deployed application's URL the page's lay out is only what i c (only the template) with the following error:

I got the same problemas you posted.now i changed the configurations of AMlocal.i changed from JDBC URL to JDBC datasource.
i saved the changes. i created a new EAR and deployed to external WLS 10.3 from Jdev11.1.1
when i am testing tha app from external WLS,i am getting the following error

the reason (i think) is that the application will use javafx's com.sum.javafx.runtime.VersionInfo,i use e(fx)clipse load the javafx runtime.in jre8u20,the web start use jre7's class.in jre8u25,the web start use jre8's class.

I have put the jaxrpc.jar in the classpath and I suppose this jar has the java.xml.rpc.service class but I donot understand why it fails while executing the jar but works fine from the eclipse IDe. Plase help me.

Ipod cannot be updated to version 1.2 due to use by another application

Keep on getting error in trying to update Ipod to version 1.2 (I have have Itunes 7.0 and Ipod version is 1.1.2). Says "it contains files that are in use by another application". Also tried restoring, etc and same error: "Ipod cannot be RESTORED because it contains files that are in use by another application".
Weird..
Mitch tried to help...but not exactly same problem. At least I am not getting the horrible error message that others are getting...

I'm having this same problem, and I've tried disabling all security, scouring the processes in Task Manager, restarts, and a few other things, to no avail.
I may still be able to update songs, but any post-iTunes7 video is unavailable (not that I ever watch vids on my iPod anyway, but someday, maybe...).
Could this be a spyware issue? Are you guys using Dells? Could it be some Dell proprietary software? Maybe something for scanning peripherals? It seems to be an uncommon problem. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Creation of tables using JDBC or SQLJ in webdynpro application

I am trying to create tables in javadictionary(MaxDB)using my WebDynpro application.I tried creating tables using SQLJ and JDBC.But I was not able to do it.I can select and insert data into already created tables.
Whwn I tried creating a table using JDBC I encountered the following exception.
com.sap.sql.log.OpenSQLException: The SQL statement "CREATE TABLE TMP_DEPID (DEPID varchar(10) NOT NULL,DEPNAME VARCHAR(25))" contains the syntax error[s]: Open SQL syntax error: CREATE ... TABLE is not supported
SQL syntax error: "VARCHAR" is a reserved keyword and cannot be used as an unquoted identifier
Does this mean that creating tables is not supported?
Can anyone help me in this matter?

Hi Pradeep,
Yes, OpenSQL does not support creation of tables. But why would you need to create tables at runtime?! The natural way is to create the model at design time of your application, i.e. with the Java DataDictionary.
However, if for any reason you really need to create database tables at runtime, you can achieve this by using a non-OpenSQL datasource, e.g. you could create a VendorSQL one and use it to obtain JDBC connections in your app. See also http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c0/3ad4d5cdc66447a188b582aad537d3/frameset.htm.

When am try to run my jsp file am getting Deployment error report with further error given below.

Hi,
I've found that if you remove the j2ee-application element related to the enterprise app you are trying to deploy from Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\config\domain.xml, and also remove your enterprise j2ee-app directory from Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\applications\j2ee-apps\, it works.
This is not a permanent solution. I get the same error again, when I try to redeploy the application for the third time. Hope someone can help soon!

I installed Sun Java Studio Enterprise 8, and am trying to connect to my Oracle database using the attached tutorial code.
The code compiles fine, but I get the following error whenever I run the file: [Oracle JDBC Driver]This driver is locked for use with embedded application
I don't understand what is happening.
Using the Runtime navigation panel on the upper left of the IDE screen, I can right-click and connect to the database, and navigate database files, using the Oracle JDBC Driver that came with JSE8.
Name: Oracle Driver
Driver: com.sun.sql.jdbc.oracle.OracleDriver
Database URL: jdbc:sun:oracle://JAZZPUP:1521;SID=REPO
If the driver is installed, and can be used to connect to a database by right-clicking on the database definition in the Runtime panel, why can't I connect to it just using java code in the IDE. I would expect both methods to work or to fail, not one of each using the same IDE.

To summarize - the DataDirectDriver that is shipped with the IDE seems to be locked to be used inside the IDE only because of some licensing issues etc..
That's weird, I agree. I will raise a question on reasons for such a behavior.
The solution would be to use Oracle's own driver, that is distributed at no charge from their web site - http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html

What is the security context when deploying application using SCCM 2012?

As far as i know when using Group Policy the software is always installed under SYSTEM security context. However i cannot find any information related to SCCM 2012 (and deploying applications) security context.
Also is there a difference in doing "Install for User" or "Install for Device/System"?

Thanks. Just to confirm that if you use Group Policy and you Publish the msi for user when the user install it from Add/Remove Programs it is still going to be executed in SYSTEM security context?

Not sure about the context for Intellimirror, but for ConfigMgr it's as Ronnie and Torsten stated. This may be documented somewhere, not sure. Not everything is documented though -- in fact, I'd say less than 25% (probably less than 10%) of everything

You are certainly welcome to try. We have not tested this environment in anyway and you may face difficulties with Adobe Creative applications that require heavy use of the CPU. I also would be surprised if Acrobat could be installed in this environment due to it's dependencies to system resources.
