JDev 11g: Manipulating taskflow activities at runtime; possible ?

Hi All,
This may sound crazy or stupid, or both but here goes.
For reasons I cannot get into on this forum, I would like to create .jsff pages on the fly at runtime (which is fine and easy). When these .jsff files are created I would like to include them in a taskflow.
Is there anyway to manipulate the taskflow at runtime so that I can point to any of my dynamically created .jsff pages ?
So to start my taskflow would look something like this:
1st (default activity) beforeRenderMethod()
2nd (upon 'success' outcome) dummyJSFF.jsff (this is what I want to replace with my dynamically created .jsff
The reason I'm working with .jsffs is that this is only a small part of a bigger project and will be embedded in a larger .jspx.
Any thoughts on this problem ?
Thanks,
Mark

Hey Simon,
Thanks for your reply.
Ya I got as far as getting the metadata object from the view activity and when I try to change it using the built in method setPageName() it gives me an exception somewhere in the XMLNode.class which I don't have any source code for.
There has to be a way to trick the ControlEngine to forward to a different page fragment.

  • JDev 11g update 1 base edition on windows: error building default domain

    Hi all,
    (refer to [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=3168105]here for original post)
    I'm posting this again with some more information. When downloading the Studio Edition (Base - no JDK) version of JDeveloper 11g update 1, an error occurs upon first (and each subsequent) startup of JDeveloper (error details below).
    Tests that I have done:
    1). Install using JDK 6 u 11 - JDK did not show up automatically in the installer, had to browse to find it and select it. Running using 6u11, 6u10, and 6u7 (deleting the system directory after each try) - error occurs.
    2). Install using JDK 6 u7 - JDK was automatically found by the installer. Running using 6u7, 6u11, and 6u10 (deleting the system directory after each try) - error occurs
    These errors do not occur when using the Windows installer. For information: my machine is Windows 2008 Server Standard 32-bit. An update - I just tried this on a Vista 64-bit laptop (running Sun 32-bit JDK 6u10) and did not have the problem. Ergo, this seems to be an issue with the JDK and detecting Windows 2008 as a Windows platform (or possibly with whatever mechanism JDev/WLS is using to detect the OS platform). I'll do more research on that and update if I find anything.
    One more update: I didn't find any issues reported like this related to Windows 2008, but I did one more test: install and run JDeveloper using:
    java version "1.6.0_05"
    Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_05-b13)
    BEA JRockit(R) (build R27.6.0-50_o-100423-1.6.0_05-20080626-2105-windows-ia32, compiled mode)                                                                   The issue does not occur using this JDK. So to summarize, installing JDev 11g update 1 Studio edition, base installer using any of the SUN JDK's on Windows 2008 gives this problem. Using the windows installer or JRockit Mission Control JVM - no problems.
    Finally, one last update - the error is related to the JVM that is used to install, not the one used to run JDeveloper (via editing jdev.conf) - the offending JDK is in wlserver_10.3\common\bin\commEnv.cmd. Seems like a no-no to have one JDK running JDev and another running the integrated WLS, though. Quite a pity, as JDev starts up pretty slowly using JRockit Mission Control.
    JRockit Realtime seems to be a bit faster... sigh - now to remove the 72 extra JDK's on my laptop ;)
    My going forward plan: use the Windows installer. Wish I never installed Windows Server 2008.

  • JDev 11g: problems deploying webapplication to integratedWLS

    Hi,
    We have been developing a large application in 11g preview for some time. It is based on EJB3 and ADF Rich Faces. It worked very well in the embedded oc4j in tp4. But now when we deploy it on wls it wont deploy with following messages:

    Is there anyone that can tell me what is wrong?
    Jakup

    Hi!
    I don't know exactly what is the cause, but I have a troubles migrating my project also.
    I would pay attention to lines:
    jakup wrote:

    java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: This parser does not support specification "null" version "null"
    at javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory.setSchema(DocumentBuilderFactory.java:561)R1 and TP4 differs in many metadata files schema versions. It looks like R1 is very sensitive on this, so when you just "migrate" TP4 project it does't upgrade the schema/version info. You have to do that manualy. Be noted that besid JDevs metadata (pageDefs, taskflows,...) this refers also to your WSDLs and other xml files you created.
    You can look for another my post Anyone succeeded migrating TP4 project to R1? and see the answers there.
    Anyhow, I did the migration by creating new app and adding mostly my source files and letting the IDE to recreate all metadata again...

  • Error while running HRFacadeClient of JDev 11g Tutorial

    Hi,
    I was following the tutorial under Build a Web Application with JDeveloper 11g Using EJB, JPA, and JavaServer Faces
    Section 19 says to run application under OC4J,
    <strong>19.</strong> Right click the <strong>HRFacadeBean</strong> in the Application Navigator and select <strong>Run</strong> from the context menu to launch the facade bean in the Embedded OC4J sever.
    Curently OC4J not available under JDev 11g Production version, so it runs under Web-logic Server which comes with JDeveloper 11g. Please see the log below:

    Regards,
    Santhosh

    Hi Heidi,
    I tried once again to install a fresh instance of Oracle soa suite 10.1.3.0 and upgraded it to 10.1.3.4 successfully. I did all the JDeveloper 11g installation and configure SOA process all successfully. I can create a connection to OC4J using 12401 RMI port successfully but none of my applications are deployed to server.
    This message is repeatedly displaying in messages tab:
    Exception returned by remote server: com.evermind.server.rmi.RMIConnectionException: Disconnected: oracle.oc4j.admin.management.shared.SharedModuleType. local class incompatible during deploy ...
    The default OC4J RMI port is 23791 but in my installation it is set to 12401 when I checked the Runtime Port option of Oracle Application Server and the connection is fine with this port but applications can not be deployed with this configuration.
    I can deploy applications on separate standalone OC4J instance successfully but not able to do it with my SOA application server.
    Any comments will be appreciated.
    Thanks again
    Esfand

  • Creating a webservice from PL/SQL Package in JDev 11g

    Hi All...
    I have a PL/SQl package and I am using JDEv 11g. I want to create it as a webservice. I want to deploy it in a remote server. Can I deploy it from my client machine. In server Weblogic already started. What are the prerequisites, that we need to deploy a wbservice. I done the following steps.
    1. Create an application.
    2. Right click the package and select Generate Java option.
    3. It create a Java class in the Application sources.
    4. Double click the class and select Create Web Service. It created the web service.
    5. When I select the webservice and click Run it shows the following error. It going to the Default \server. Actually I need it in a remote server.

    Oh, no - another very urgent question. The world must be about to end ;)
    Resmi, Have a read of [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=883293]this - JDeveloper 11g, as of today, doesn't (at least is not supposed to) support publishing PL/SQL procedures/packages as a web service.

  • Facing issue in configuring soa server in local jdev 11G

    Hi All,
    I am facing an issue in configuring local soa server in jdev 11G. I was trying to do the practice excercises in the local jdev and while configuring soa server followed following steps :-
    1. Configure SOA to install the Integrated OC4J Server
    a. In JDeveloper, select Tools -> Preferences, Run, and then select Integrated OC4J Server.
    b. Next, select Tools -> Configure SOA…
    c. Complete the dialog for your configuration specifying the database location and the SOA schema user name and password
    d. Use the Test button to test the database connection and then click on Ok
    This will take 8-10 minutes to run and when finished will end with "Build Successful."
    In the end I am getting following log file
    [echo] ==Starting standalone oc4j. Check server log D:\FMW\JdevInstance\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\log\startsoa.log.

    * D:\FMW\JdevInstance\system11.1.1.0.22.47.96\o.j2ee\embedded-oc4j\log\startsoa.log
    [echo] ==Stopping oc4j standalone...
    BUILD SUCCESSFUL
    Total time: 7 minutes 11 seconds

    Hi Heidi,
    Thanks a lot for your response. The solution you provided worked for me. I am able to configure SOA now and the SOAConsole is coming up properly.
    One issue I am facing while deploying my application . The application is getting deployed properly but it does not show up in the console if I look at Default server console I can see this error message :-
    Incorrect db schema version.
    The database schema version "11.1.6" from the database does not match the version "11.1.7" expected by the server.
    The database schema for your SOA installation was not properly installed or your installation is using a database schema installed for a prior release.
    The database schema currently in place has probably been configured for a previous release; please re-install the database schema and try to start the server again.
    Though I have configured the database locally just like mentioned in the training material. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this.
    Regards,
    Ranjana

    The Port which i am using is 45701. Any pointers on this?

    Hi
    You can find the SSL port of the Admin Server using the Admin Console (eg, http://localhost:7001/console).
    Environment -> Servers
    Click AdminServer(admin)
    SSL Listen Port: 7002 (default).
    You should check the "SSL Listen Port Enabled" check box to connect to this admin server with ssl port.
    For your informationWhen you configure the Application Server Connection from the JDeveloper, you need to check the 'Always use SSL' check box and enter the SSL port. You can create the Application Server Connection for your sSSL port from the JDeveloper.

    Deployment Failed
    does anyone had this problem , please help, i´m trying to solve this problem and still couldn´t make it.
    Best Regard,
    Vitor

    Applications that you build with JDeveloper 11g are normally aimed at WebLogic 10.3 servers.
    They require Java EE 1.5 and JDK 6.

  • ADF jdev 11g portlet   in Weblogic Portal 10G R3?

    Is possible to build a ADF Jdev 11g portlet and deploy it in a Weblogic Portal 10g R3?

    Not with WebLogic Portal 10gR3, no, but that use case is one that will be supported in the upcoming release of WebLogic Portal, which will coincide closely with the release of WebCenter 11g.

  • Jdev 11g: several attributes are not supported by "simple" graph types

    Hi,
    My question is especially for Jdev development team. I want to discuss this issues first in this forum before I open a SR at Oracle Support.
    Several attributes from dvt:graph are not supported in dvt:areagraph, dvt:linegraph or dvt:bargraph.
    - TimeSelectorListener
    - TimeRangeMode
    - TimeAxisType --> supported for dvt:linegraph but not for dvt:areagraph. Why?
    - TimeAxisListener
    - TimeZone
    - ExplicitTimeRangeStart
    - ExplicitTimeRangeEnd
    - ContinuousTimeAxisInterval
    This means if I want (need) to use some of this attributes I need to use dvt:graph (advanced graph).
    But here is the next problem:
    This type of graph can't be selected from component palette or graph create wizard.
    It's still possible to "convert" e.g. a dvt:linegraph to dvt:graph by editing the source code of jspx but in my opinion this should not be the normal way!
    I also didn't get a clear answere if dvt:graph is desupported or will be desupported in the next release(s)
    (see my previous post about advanced graph: Jdev 11g: Advanced graph no longer supported?
    Conclusio:
    ======
    If the attributes I mention above are still supported and needed (also in further releases) than they either need to be supported by the relevant simple graph tags or dvt:graph must be selectable from component palette.
    If dvt:graph is planned to be de-supported in further releases than this should be made public to avoid development of applications with non-supported components.
    regards
    Peter

    Peter,
    you should have followed up on the thread you reference. First of all, Katia gave you the answer of how to get the listener working
    "The recommended way is to create a line graph, and then add a time selector tag (like Peter pointed out).
    However, since in the dvt:lineGraph there is no attribute for the time selector listener, you need to add the listener in the backing bean.
    Here are the code snippets:
    In jspx:
    <dvt:lineGraph id="master"
    value="#{bindings.master1Graph.graphModel}"
    style="Comet"
    imageFormat="FLASH" imageWidth="400"
    binding="#{sampleGraph.richTimeSelectorMasterGraph}"
    animationOnDisplay="AUTO"
    imageHeight="250">
    <dvt:legendArea rendered="false"/>
    <dvt:timeSelector explicitStart="#{sampleGraph.startDate}" explicitEnd="#{sampleGraph.endDate}" fillColor="#33FFFFFF" borderColor="#313675" mode="EXPLICIT" />
    <dvt:seriesSet defaultMarkerType="MT_CURVE_LINE">
    <dvt:series id="0" color="#FDB026"/>
    </dvt:seriesSet>
    </dvt:lineGraph>
    In the backing bean:
    public UIGraph getRichTimeSelectorMasterGraph()
    if (m_richTimeSelectorMasterGraph == null)
    m_richTimeSelectorMasterGraph = new UIGraph();
    m_richTimeSelectorMasterGraph.addTimeSelectorListener(this);
    return m_richTimeSelectorMasterGraph;
    public void setRichTimeSelectorMasterGraph(UIGraph graph)
    m_richTimeSelectorMasterGraph = graph;
    Second, you got Katia's attention already and this is as much developer contact you can get on this forum. Katia ia the product manager for DVT

  • Problems with JDev 11g using JBOSS and ANT

    Hi,
    I'm trying to migrate to JDev 11g with JBoss ( version 7.X ) as the AppServer
    With JDev 10g all works fine with JBoss, even the Remote Debug, all OK
    here is the problems I have :
    1) ANT
    JDev doesn't save my ANT settings
    every time I launch ANT : Run Ant Target - I must set the Advance settings
    JDev 10g I only need to do that once, the settings are saved but not in the 11g, why ?
    2) persistence
    I get this error when deploying to JBoss
    16:34:50,967 INFO [org.jboss.as.server] (HttpManagementService-threads - 1) JBA

    it seems that is something related to dependencies not well configured during build stage of the EAR, but with 10g works fine

    I can't say many about the ant stuff, but have you tried to put the parameters in a property file and use this to get the parameters to ant?
    The reason you can't run the application on WLS is that you have not installed the adf runtime on your wls. The error 'application.xml: [Extension-Name: adf.oracle.domain, exact-match: false].' points to this.

  • JDev 11g on WebLogic+TopLink+Web Services (getSharedSession() Disconnects)

    I am facing an issue while using {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} through a {color:#0000ff}web service{color} request.
    I apologize for a lengthy posting but thought I should give as much information as possible.
    <strong><u>Migration from TP4 to JDev 11g Production
    </u></strong>I am in a process of {color:#0000ff}migration{color} of an application from {color:#0000ff}JDeveloper 11g TP4 to JDeveloper 11g Production{color}.
    I am facing an issue using {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} with {color:#0000ff}Web Services{color} on {color:#0000ff}Oracle WebLogic 10g Release 3.
    {color}
    <strong><u>Existing Application</u></strong>
    This application uses {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} and also has{color:#0000ff} JAX-WS{color} based web services.
    The web services client calls the service endpoint that internally uses {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} to make database calls.
    We currently use {color:#0000ff}Tomcat{color} for deployment and the application works fine.
    <strong><u>Issue while moving to Oracle WebLogic 10g R3
    </u></strong>While porting this application to WebLogic we faced an issue wherein a call to the {color:#0000ff}web service{color} results in {color:#0000ff}disconnection{color} of existing {color:#0000ff}TopLink{color} {color:#000080}server session{color} and creation of new ones.
    Some surfing on the net indicated that this could be due to the different class loaders that are used to access the TopLink server session.
    You must login to the ServerSession before acquiring ClientSessions
    <strong><u>LOG</u></strong>

    James,
    My issue is resolved. Thanks for your tip.
    I am using {color:#0000ff}SessionManager.getSession(...{color}
    Solution:*
    I changed the class loader while getting a session.
    I had to extend the {color:#0000ff}SessionFactory{color} and override {color:#0000ff}both{color} the {color:#0000ff}getSharedSession(){color} methods while replacing {color:#ff0000}getClass().getClassLoader(){color} with {color:#0000ff}&lt;MyLocatorSingletonBean&gt;.getInstance().getClass().getClassLoader().{color}
    Regrding Server Sessions*
    While posting the question I had started thinking in the same direction of having sever sessions as singleton/Spring bean but sine this will change a lot of things in my current framework so decided I just use the above solution for now.
    Really appreciated!

    Hi,
    as read in this thread : Re: Always fail to deploy to server when (Create a Simple EJB Session Bean )
    >
    This is a known JDeveloper 11g bug. If you look into the packaged EAR file, JDeveloper inserts some entries into the weblogic-application.xml file to register some listeners to perform some internal tasks it needs to deal with.
    The issue is that these classes are part of the ADF runtime and installed as part of the provided ADF domain. They are not provided as part of a standard WLS installation. Thus when you deploy a JDeveloper 11g packaged application to a non ADF augmented WLS 10.3 instance, you get a Classloading error on deployment because the specific listener-classes are not available.
    The relevant bug # for this is:
    BUG#7487416
    EAR FILE PACKAGING SETS FIXED DEPENDENCY ON
    JPSAPPLICATIONLIFECYCLELISTENER
    I believe a fix for this will be provided in the first patchset for JDeveloper 11g.
    In the meantime, if you want to workaround it, extract the weblogic-application.xml file from the EAR file, manually remove the listener entries, put the modified file back into the EAR file and then deploy it.

    It solved the problem for me.
    But you should now get another problem, like some of us on this forum : ADFLogger will be missing. If so, please report to this thread for helping us : Standalone WLS server instance deployment failure - missing ADFLogger

  • Implementing shortcut keys ion JSF pages Jdev 11g

    How we can implement shortcut keys ion JSF pages Jdev 11g ?
    We are doing a Oracle Forms to Java migration and our users are getting use to use function keys.
    how we can map a commit action on the form to "CTRL + F7 key" (for example)
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    This is not possible directly. With JSF technology you are limited with browser capabilities which are HTML + Javascript. So you cannot communicate directly with i.e. commit function only with i.e. HTML form action or AJAX based javascript function...

  • Problem using ojdbc14.jar in JDev 11g

    Hi
    I have an application created in 10g.
    I was trying to create the same in 11g and encountered this problem with the ojdbc14.jar.
    The jar has two classes OracleDataSource and OracleConnectionCacheImpl inside the same package.
    OracleConnectionCacheImpl is inherited from OracleDataSource.
    OracleDataSource has a protected variable called m_dataSourceName.
    The child class, OracleConnectionCacheImpl used this variable.
    I have this jar included in my classpath.
    When i run the application, it throws a runtime error.
    Following is the stack trace.

    Can anyone tell me why this error occurs?
    I have checked the Oracle JDBC library of JDev 11g and found that it has ojdbc6.jar
    Is there any compatibility problem with this jar migrating from 10g to 11g?
    Found this related link but could not relate it much.
    Please explain
    JDBC problem: java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: CONNECTION_PROPERTY_THIN_NET_CONN
    Thanks

    I guess you can't use ojdbc14.jar that easy. Some dependencies form ojdbc14.jar are not available under 11g. That 's the reason you have ojdbc6.jar under 11g.
