JDev GIT integration in 12c?

Hi All,
Is there going to be GIT Integration on JDev 12c? or Maybe Oracle supplying a plugin for existing JDev 11?
Thanks
Jonny

As per presentations at Oracle Open World 2011 there is "planned" support for GIT in JDeveloper 12c. Those presentations were done under the "safe harbor" disclaimer so we can't yet guarantee this.

  • JDev CVS integration Compare error

    I have successfully integrated JDev 10g 9.0.5.0.0.1375 with a CVS server. When I attempt to compare two different versions in the history of an XML file using the "Compare...." option, the following class cast exception is thrown and the compare fails.
    Comparing 2 versions of any other type of file eg .java, .jsp works without errors.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks
    Steve

    Hi Stephen,
    This is a known bug in the preview. You can either wait a few days for the production release, or download the following unofficial patch for preview:
    http://www.dubh.org/jdevpatches/905preview/patch3115078.zip
    (just extract the jar file contained in the above zip into your ${jdev.home}/jdev/lib/patches directory.
    Cheers,

  • Integrated JDeveloper Weblogic 12C issues

    Hi,
    I'm running Jdev 12.1.2.0.0 (JDEVADF_12.1.2.0.0_GENERIC_130608.2330.6668) on a mac OSX 10.9 and I'm having problems with the integrated Weblogic starting up. I've tried it on multiple versions of java 7 (update 21, 25 and 45) with no effect.
    I've verified the jars containing the missing classes are on the file system, manually put the jars which contain the classes into the lib folder so I know for sure it's being loaded. Still no effect, and I'm running out of ideas.
    Steps to replicate :
    Install Jdev
    Fire up Jdev
    Start Integrated Weblogic Server - initialises fine, starts up with the following errors :
    [Waiting for the domain to finish building...]

  • JDeveloper 12c and SVN not working

    I have JDeveloper 12c on several machines in both a 'developer all in one integrated' and 'standard' environments (separate JDeveloper and Weblogic server).  When I commit changes to a Service Bus application pipeline (like add a http proxy) to my SVN server (I know this server works correctly) everything looks like it goes fine.  When I try to download the change on a different machine/JDeveloper the changes not only do not show up but the pipeline/proxy map is empty!  Anyone seen this behavior?

    Hi,
    I had seen this issue in JDev 11g, not in 12c though. I guess the JDeveloper system files got corrupted or not created properly. So, I deleted the system folder and reopened the JDeveloper and it worked fine for me.
    System folder would be located at %USERS%/AppData/Roaming/JDeveloper/system12.1.3.0.x.x.x. Delete the folder in both the machines and try.

  • Ide.user.dir in Jdeveloper 12c

    Hi Gurus,
    I am just installing Jdeveloper 12c 64 bit for windows. There is another Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 already in placed which i want to keep for EBS R12 OAF extendsion development.
    Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3.0 was installed in  D:\JDEV\1213\jdevhome\jdev and environment variable JDEV_USER_HOME is set to D:\JDEV\1213\jdevhome\jdev
    Jdeveloper 12c was installed in D:\oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Home\jdeveloper
    I created new environment variable JDEV_USER_DIR and set it to D:\JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev, but notice some different behavior for ide.user.dir entry after Jdeveloper launched.
    Scenario 1: Launch Jdeveloper 12c with command : jdev.exe -J-Dide.user.dir=D:\JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev
                       In Help->About->Properties, value of :
                       ide.user.dir = D:\JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev
                       ide.pref.dir = D:\JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev
                       Systemxxx folder created in D:\JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev\system12.1.2.0.40.66.68
    Scenario 2: Add ide.user.dir entry = D:\JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev in jdev.boot
                       Launch Jdeveloper 12c
                       In Help->About->Properties, value of :
                       ide.user.dir = D:JDEV_121200_win64jdevhomejdev
                       ide.pref.dir = D:JDEV_121200_win64jdevhomejdev
                       JDEV_121200_win64jdevhomejdev folder created in D:\oracle\Middleware\Oracle_Home\jdeveloper\jdev\bin
    Question : Why ide.user.dir and ide.pref.dir entry are not created with "\" ? Why JDEV_121200_win64jdevhomejdev folder is created whereby i wanted to be in
                      D:\JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev?
    Scenario 3: Launch Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3.0
                       In Help->About->Properties, value of :
                       ide.user.dir = D:JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev
    Question: How to keep the ide.user.dir for this version remain to point to D:\JDEV\1213\jdevbin instead of D:JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev?
                     Is there any impact when i leave it to point to D:JDEV_121200_win64\jdevhome\jdev?
    Regards,
    Fendy

    I change ide.user.dir in both files and it works.

  • Error during ADF Security logout in 12c

    Hello,
    I'm in the process of migrating my application from 11.1.2.4 to 12.1.2.0, and one thing I've noticed is the following error message in the weblogic logs when logging out of ADF Security:
    <Error> <oracle.adf.share.http.HttpSessionScopeAdapter> <BEA-000000> <HttpSessionScopeAdapter:  Request is in an invalid state.  Could not access the request session.>
    The logout still seems to work fine however. Currently I'm logging out with the following code (from here):
    ExternalContext ectx = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getExternalContext();
    ectx.redirect(ectx.getRequestContextPath() + "/adfAuthentication?logout=true&end_url=/faces/home");
    FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().responseComplete();
    Every time I press logout, the above error happens 5 times in the logs.
    I've also tried using the logout code from the 12c documentation and that produces the same error, but interestingly only produces that error 4 times.
    Is there something extra or different that is supposed to be done to log out of ADF security in 12c? I can't imagine that getting an error repeatedly is what should be expected.
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    I gave that idea a try, and it was the same result as the very similar manual logout code given in the documentation I tried earlier: http://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1212/adf/ADFFD/adding_security.htm#ADFFD21669
    The logout happens successfully, but that error message shows up in the logs at least once. Whenever I do a logout without going through the authentication servlet, the error is always logged exactly 1 time fewer. In my application I migrated from 11gR2 to 12c, the error would happen 4 times (5 through the servlet), and in the fresh sample 12c app I made earlier this week, it happens 1 time (2 through the servlet).
    I should also add that all of this testing has just been done in the integrated weblogic 12c server that comes with JDeveloper 12c.

  • Clearcase and JDeveloper integration

    Hi,
    Iam working on integrating ClearCase with JDeveloper. I want to check in and check out files from the IDE directly. But during the process I encountered the following error. Any help is much appreciated.
    Tried the following:
    1. Downloaded/updated the clearcase plugin from the Help-->Check for updates link.
    2. Restarted Jdev IDE and was able to see clearcase menuitems (Versioning>>Connect to clearcase,Check In,Check Out etc)
    3. On clicking Connect to clearcase, I received the following error
    "ClearCase executable (cleartool) is not installed or not located in your system environment path".
    Is this expecting a Remote Clearcase Client executable?

    Thanks for the information.
    Can you clarify me one point? - In this case , Is a remote clearcaseclient is required?? or I should have clearcase installed in my machine to do this Jdev/clearcase integration?

  • JDeveloper 12c "Derby Server for WLS Examples Server" prompt

    Hello,
    I've been playing around with the new JDeveloper 12c, and I've noticed that every time I start up the integrated weblogic 12c server (on Windows), this "Derby Server for WLS Example Server" command prompt opens.
    Is there any way to stop this from happening? or is it a required component?
    Thanks,
    Evan Gilbert

    At the moment it's a needed component. There was a discussion if there is a way to disable this, but from what I remember you currently have to have a full DB (for production) or the derby server for the embedded wls to run.

  • Anyone Use GIT with LabVIEW?

    I think that the vast majority of people using SCM with LabVIEW are using either Perforce or SVN. Is there anyone who either uses or has used GIT, integrated into LabVIEW or not integrated? (I think there is a tool that uses the SVN protocol to talk to GIT)
    If so what were your experiences?
    =====================
    LabVIEW 2012

    There are several other posts on LAVA mentioning GIT (I think a lot where from FIRST). Post there (just link this post there as cross-post).
    I personally think, that my arguments don't speak against GIT. I've been using SVN and Hg(mercurial) without any integration in the LV IDE (although I have some integration for Hg yet).
    I forgot to mention: Using SVN you could use the plug-in from JKI. If your company invests the money, I'm sure it' a **bleep** good deal.
    All these tools perform very well, even if you don't have the native LV support (as VSS, Perforce).
    If you want a poll, you can check the NI-community features. Just setup one for SCC specifics. I was planning to do one myself, but I don't have the time. It' still not as good (from the quality and quantity of posts) a the forums, but has some cool features (wikis, polls). Advertise this on the most up-to-date posts on SCC issues. I and many others will drop in, I'm sure.

  • Urgent!!! Need help with ADF 11g app deployment

    Hi,
    My application is designed using ADF 11g and am using adfc-config.xml for page flow.
    Through Jdev 11g integrated WLS server the application is running smoothly.
    But when i deployed application using EAR file on WLS 11g server and accessed the appliction, the page flow didnt worked.
    That is i tried opening login page of my application, it opened. Then i provided login credentials , they were successfully validated.
    But after that the application home page did not apperaed and application stuck at Login page only. The page flow didnt worked.
    Please help on this, its urgent...
    Thanks n Regards
    Manav Ratra

    Thanks Timo/Arun,
    The problem was same as figured by you. :)
    The application is running smoothly in IE7 but in Mozilla 3.0.15 it is not running.
    There it is throwing error:
    Error 404--Not Found
    From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
    +10.4.5 404 Not Found+
    The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
    If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
    Any pointers to this ...
    Thanks n Regards

  • Mobile app based on web service data control and VO with VC runtime error

    Hi,
    Jdev 11.1.2.3.0 + mobile extension.
    Windows 7, 64 bit.
    Reproduceable with Android emulator but not on iOS and iOS emulator.
    I can not test on real Android device because we do not have it in our office.
    So I don't know wether this issue is related to android emulator only or to android in general.
    Also not reproduceable by Oracle support.
    I have a VO "Employees" with a VC "department_id = :departmentIdVariable" and exposed the find method for this VO via service interface in AM.
    (see demo video from https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/developing_with_oracle_adf_mobile?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook).
    In a ADF mobile app I create a parameter form and amx:listView like demoed in the mentioned video.
    Whenever I test this app on android emulator I get the error below.
    Exact the same page used in a second feature works fine.
    I found out that the problem only occures on the first attept (this means when I open the page on the second feature first then this will fail and the subsequent call of the first page will be successfull).
    The problem does not occure when the web service data control does not contain a method based on VC with bind variable.

    Does anyone has seen the above error ?
    I have recreated the model and mobile app more than 20 times, re-installed Jdev, re-created Jdev settings (integrated WLS & Co), ran the web services on a different machine.
    On my site this problem is 100% reproduceable with android emulator.
    regards
    Peter

    Hi, Peter, this could be an issue with proxy server setting. Are you behind a firewall when you test this?
    iOS simulator would use Mac's proxy setting. Android Emulator has its own proxy setup - it's a bit complicated to get to and varies based on the Android emulator you are using. For 4.1 emulator (you should always use 4.x or above emulators), you would need to go into the emulator itself, and go to settings - Wireless & Networks - click More... - Mobile Networks - Access Point Names. You should see an Access point used by the emulator to simulate network connection. Mine says "T-Mobile US". You click on it, and then you can select the proxy attribute and set it according to your office's settings.
    Hope that resolves the issue.
    Thanks,
    Joe Huang

  • Questions/comments on "How to Use BC4J HTML Field Renderers"

    BTW thanks for getting this HOWTO on custom renderers up. Good stuff. Probably one of the first things someone should read after getting past the first BC4J-JSP tutorial.
    But after having just read it, I have some questions and comments.
    What would be the best way to localize the YES|NO values from the first example? I know I can create property files for resource bundles and get the values from there, but where do I get the users Locale? And given that BC4J has a place for localized field labels, is there some better place (for JDev/BC4J integration) than going off and creating my own property files?
    I was hoping to see examples of actually writing the HTML so I can add properties for validation, etc. The examples were about custom data for the renders rather than custom HTML. I assume that I just output HTML in the renderToString() method and it would just start with "<select" or "<input" not TDs or spans or anything, right? But in such cases, what can I extend / not extend? In the case of lists, I would have to handle all the different control types, right?
    I am confused on control types. There's a control type on the control hints tab and in the HOWTO creates a new propery called MY_CONTROL_TYPE. Why? How do they relate? (and is that question about the RADIOGROUP suppose to be in the HOWTO doc?)
    Can we not get the list control types as options on control hints tab? Or if we are creating our own renders, say for a boolean, I could create different renderers for the different control types (checkbox, select, radio, maybe selectYesNo, selectTrueFalse,...) or create one with a control type setting for them all. Which should I do when? And is there a way to expose these control types in the control hints tab?
    BTW do these custom renders work the same in UIX-JSP and UIX-XML?
    Since we are extending Oracle's classes we need more complete JavaDocs, not just the public methods. For example the HOWTO uses "ds" from PickList. BTW I have to give my opinion on Java style, maybe consider coding like "this.ds" for clarity. But anyway....
    thanks for all the help!

    Some comments:
    1. the provided renderers read the properties every time becuase they are meant to be 'generic' and there are possible parameter differences between one attribute and another. You can easily hard-code the property values into the renderer implementation and 'never' look at the properties for parameters. The same applies for the dynamic renderer.
    2. The set of renderers applis to both UIX JSP and JSP. There some bugs in the UIX JSP that prevent this in 9.0.2, but they will be fixed in Jdev 9.0.3.
    3. The 'control type' is a shortcut way to select some of the default renderers. If you specify the 'Renderer' properties, they take precedence over any control types selected at design-time.
    4. A cool way to re-use renderers is to create a new domain class and setup the renderer properties at that level. You can then use tihs domain type in your entity objects. all the rendering selection will happen automatically.
    5. You can retrieve the current locale by using the ApplicationModule.getSession().getLocale() , make sure you use this method instead of the default locale since a single web application may be used by different users with different locale settings. We take the http locale information and map it into the application module's locale. If you need locale specific values, use resource bundles.

  • How to use ant with Jdeveloper 11g

    Hello, as we develop our app with ADF Faces & EJB 3.0 we are using tomcat 6.x + openEJB 3.0 as a sort of app server. So we need to build application archive 2 differrent methods (collapsed war for tomcat and ear for Jdev's integrated WLS). Besides, some xml files need to be modificated depending on target server. So we are going to use ant to build archives.
    My questions:
    - Where should I copy built archive for deployment on integrated WLS (should I copy it in ant's target or Jdev can do it for me)? Or there is another way to do the following: when one presses Run button on a page ant builds an archive for local WLS and then app is deployed and the page is opened in a new browser tab (just like default Jdev behaviour)?
    - Where can I find tutorial on integration of Jdev & ant?

    Here is a good example [http://biemond.blogspot.com/2009/04/weblogic-jdeveloper-ant-tasks.html]

  • ESB Deployment Automation Fault

    I'm using the ant ESB Deployment Automation tasks authored by Doug Gschwind and referenced in other threads. I get a build failed error when trying to extract an ESB deployment plan. The error states that the output file already exists but the directory where it resides cannot be written or the filename does not have a .xml extension.
    My set up is:
    D:\temp - contains ESBMetadataMigrationTaskdefs.xml, ESBMetadataMigration.jar, my ant project file and the output file (PMSProto1Plan.xml). Both the directory and file are not read only.
    I had to install commons-httpclient and also JAXB (from Sun Java Web Services Developer Kit). I did note that I had to find jsr173_1.0_api.jar under my JDeveloper home. I used your sample exampleBuild.xml as the basis of my ant file.
    My extract file looks like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <project name="ESBMetadataDeployment" default="usage" basedir=".">
    <property name="esbProjectToDeploy" value="D:\Oracle\JDeveloper\jdev\mywork\CVSTest\LR\PMSProto1"/>

    <exec executable="ant" dir="${basedir}" vmlauncher="false">
    <arg value="-projecthelp"/>
    </exec>
    </target>
    </project>
    My ESBMetadataMigrationTaskdefs.xml looks like:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>

    Has anybody hit this issue before and hopefully a solution ? Thanks.

    For what it is worth I can confirm that what user531376 describes is the correct answer to the problem. Add this line:
    <delete file="${deploymentPlanFilename}" verbose="true"/>
    to the ExtractESBDeploymentPlan target and you should be fine.
