JDEV10g doesn't sort files on packages but sorts on directorywise

Question

I was trying the preview version JDEV 10g. I found a issue as below
My Java files in the packages as below
In <dir1> (DIRECTORY where file resides)
org.home.test.abc
org.home.test.abcdef
In <dir2> (DIRECTORY where file resides)
org.test.abc.testing
When you click the list by package tree in system navigator. It puts in a tree structure ordered by directory but not on the basis of package.
Also when I add the above files into the project it doesn't copy on the basis of package name but it copies on the basis of directories the files are in.
I think it makes more sense for java files atleast if they are structured/copied on the basis of package

If I get your directory and package structure right, this is not a bug. You have to have a one-to-one relationship between directory structure on disk and package structure. The package structure defines the namesspace i.e. a classname i prefix with the package name by the compiler to make a class file unique.
