Hi All,
i am working with JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 version,intel core i3 -2120 CPU,@3.30GHZ,4GB RAM, Windows 7 32 bit OS
i am facing Jdeveloper Hangingness when loading BTF inside a popup and making a call to java code on any action if any debug point is avilable inside java file,JDeveloper is getting hanged and the only way to come out of this issue is by killing the process and restarting the JDeveloper.
certain cases when integrated server is started with debug mode(intial startup ) also Jdeveloper is getting hanged and there is no way to get out of this except restart.
if i see memory parameters from Java VisualVM console
Heap is avilable
and the other process are running with out any issue.
is this problem is with configuration settigns ?
what steps/settings/patches i need to follow to get out of this problem ?

is this happening after removing the system folder also?

  • Creator Hangs in debug mode

I am testing a five page web page that connects to an SQL Server database.
I am experiencing severe memory problems in debug mode. The application hangs after stepping through a some code.
The debug screen goes all grey and I cannot get it to return to normal (see the code).
I am developing on a windows XP platform and I am using Netscape 7.1 as my browser.

Not sure why you are getting the error . I just checked the link, as well as the download tab, and it works for me. Could you please try the link again.
Hot Fix 2: You can download it from update center: Launch the IDE and connect to the Update Center .

  • JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.0 hangs while debugging a simple application

Hello all... I use Jdeveloper 11g in my Fedora linux ( version 9 ) machine. Jdev works fine normally, but when I try to debug a sample application it simply hangs and does not allow me to do anything besides going to console mode and killing off all the processes associated with Jdev in the following manner..
    [sugantha@localhost ~]$ ps aux | grep jdev
    and then kill -9 <PIDs>
The code where it hangs exactly is this...
    *public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {*
    String cmd = e.getActionCommand();
    *if (ON_TOP_COMMAND.equals(cmd)) {*
    if (onTop.isSelected())
    layeredPane.moveToFront(dukeLabel);
    else
    layeredPane.moveToBack(dukeLabel);
    *} else if (LAYER_COMMAND.equals(cmd)) {*
    int position = onTop.isSelected() ? 0 : 1;
    layeredPane.setLayer(dukeLabel,
    layerList.getSelectedIndex(),
    position);
with the breakpoint placed in line 2 of the code shown.Pressing F7, F8 or F9 has no effect. Has anyone ever encountered this issue or is there a workaround to avoid this kind of behaviour while debugging in JDeveloper. Thanks in advance.

    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24382_01/admin.1112/e16179/deploy.htm#BGBECCBE
When I explicitely add the groovy-lang-1.6.3.jar in "Project properties" --> "Libraries and Classpath" then it works!
The groovy-lang-1.6.3.jar gets deployed with the application.
But still, why isn't it sufficient to have "ADF Model Runtime" (containing groovy-lang-1.6.3.jar) added ??
Is the ADF Model Runtime library deployed with the application? Select Manage Libraries. Is the ADF Model Runtime library selected as Deployed By Default?
If a new library is created, is the library a Deploy by Default?
If a library is added to a Model or ViewController project and used in the other project is a dependency defined between projects?
On JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 the same application works when debugging it.
Does anybody know how to fix it. Is there a missing library which was automatically added in the old JDeveloper but is not any more in the new one?
JDeveloper 11.1.1.4.0 JDeveloper runtime libraries that are deployed into Oracle WebLogic Server to support ADF applications includes groovy-all-1.6.3.jar in the adf.oracle.domain.ear Library and System Classpath.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23549_01/web.1111/e15470/ap_jdevlibs.htm#BCFCIGBJ
In JDeveloper 11.1.2.2.0 groovy-all-1.6.3.jar is included only in the adf.oracle.domain.ear Library, not the system classpath.
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26098_01/admin.1112/e16179/ap_jdevlibs.htm
And is 1.6.3 the right version for ADF 11.1.2.2.0 Applications or should I add a newer groovy version?
The groovy version is the same groovy-all-1.6.3.jar.

  • Android Emulator get hangs on starting the application in debug Mode

I have deployed the application on Android Emulator in debug mode but on starting the app it get hangs. I have set the Java Debugging to true in the cvm.properties file and also started Java debugger from JDev before launching the ADF Mobile app on android emulator. Can any body help me to figure out the problem why the emulator gets hang on starting the application in debug Mode.

Hi, after setting the debugging = true, you would also need to start the JDeveloper debugger and configure it for remote debugging. Shay has a blog article that should help.
The emulator is hung while trying to connect to the JDeveloper debugger.

Why does captivate hang when it is closed in window 8.1 professional ? How is it solved?

    Hi,
Do you see the issue every time you close captivate or is it only in some scenarios? Does it show any error messages? What captivate version are you using (64 bit or 32 bit)? Can you provide some more information or screenshots which can help us reproduce the issue.

  • Photoshop Elements 13 running in Windows 8.1 hangs immediately after starting

Photoshop Elements 13 running in Windows 8.1 hangs immediately after starting.  Has to be shut down by Task Manger.  Task Manger shows that it is still using some CPU.  Ran Procmon (part of Sysinternals) which shows that it is in a loop.   Stack trace shows it is executing code in AMTValidateProductLicense.dll.  Started happening about a month after I installed PSE.  Everything used to work fine at first.  Have tried going back to an old image of Win 8.1 on a different hard drive, otherwise same computer, and installed PSE 13 from DVD.  That installation never worked, it aways hangs.  If I do a clean boot, it sometimes runs long enough for me to click on a menu item and then hangs the same way.  And, yes I bought a new DVD to run on this computer, never been used in any other way.  Any ideas how I can get PSE running properly?

It really doesn't look like a licensing issue, it seems to be code in the area of license validation that isn't working.
I took your suggestion and initiated a couple of chat sessions with support, but so far still no luck.  The latest session with Neeraj seemed to be promising.  After some investigation he asked to reinstall.  First he uninstalled with Revo Uninstall, which seemed to be pretty thorough.  That required a restart, so he set things up to restore his conference session and took my phone number.  Unfortunately I guess his connection didn't come back.  When I didn't hear from him after a couple of hours I tried installing Photoshop and Premiere myself.  As before, Premiere works and Photoshop doesn't.  When I start Photoshop, the window opens and for a couple of seconds menus open when I click on them.  Then the window freezes and I have to use Task Manager to kill it.  So basically, I've tried several things but I'm back where I've been all along, I can't get Photoshop to work.  I'd really appreciate suggestions about something else to try.
I wish someone at Adobe was interested in the Process Monitor traces I've made, because I'm sure someone who knows the code would be able to figure out pretty quickly what's happening.  Is it trying to read a file that's not there, failing to write a file, failing to make an internet connection or what?  It really shouldn't be this hard to figure out.

  • I have a problem that I can not load or even close the download in iTunes, it turns out I have hanging in the mode, and because of that I can't download from AppStore, because it turns out that the other programs I have on standby. What do I do? Thank you

I have a problem that I can not load or even close the download in iTunes, it turns out I have hanging in the mode, and because of that I can't download from AppStore, because it turns out that the other programs I have on standby. What do I do? Thank you.

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

  • Jdeveloper not working in debug mode

    Hi,
I have installed J2SE1.4.2 and Jdeveloper 10g. But when i started to run the Jdeveloper in debug mode, its is giving "ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved" connection failed arror.
    What could be the reason??
    Pls help.

    Hi
I think the onus is on you to debugg the code and deduce why it is displaying that error.

  • Code runs fine in debug mode but hangs when compiled in release mode

I am struggling with the following problem. I have code which runs fine when it is executed in debug mode. However, when I compile it in release mode and run the executable, the code freezes and does not work. The code acquires images from a Hamamatsu camera. In the debug mode I am able to continuously acquire images. However, in the release version, the code hangs after acquiring the first image.
    I am using LabWindows/CVI version 7.
I would greatly appreciate if I can get any help/suggestions in resolving this problem?
    Thanks!

    Sripad:
If you search this forum for "debug release crash" or "release version crash" or similar phrases, you'll find that this is a pretty common question.  Look through the other posts you find here to see if anything is applicable to you.
The debug version does some things like padding variables so you can sometimes overrun your declared variable space without overwriting the next variable.  In the release, the variables are packed, so if you overrun one, you are overwriting another.  Just one possible difference.
You can do some things in your release code to see where things get lost, like (temporarily using printf statements after multiple statements at the start and end of your loop to try to identify that failing line of code.
Look through other threads to find other ideas.

  • NoClassDefFoundError: in JDeveloper debug mode

    Hi all.
I have a strange problem. Only one JSP in my entire application fails to appear when I debug with local (embeded) OC4J. These are the first lines of the exception message:
    Exception:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: _addFile
         java.lang.Class java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(java.lang.String, byte[], int, int, java.security.ProtectionDomain)
              native code
The class _addFile is generated from addFile.jsp and is available in the output directory. Production application doesn't display the same behavior, this only happens in DEBUG mode in JDeveloper.
    OS: win2000
    JDK: 1.3.1
    JDevaloper is 9.0.2.. something.
    Thanks people.

    A few quick questions:
    1. Can you run (not debug) the application?
    2. Have you tried specifically compiling the file addfile.jsp in JDeveloper? - This will usually show the error before attempting to
    run it.
To do this, select the file in the navigator and do a right-click Rebuild or Make..

  • Running applications in debug mode in JDeveloper

    Hi All,
I have created a simple spring portlet and have consumed it on a webcenter application. The portlet throws an exception. Now I want to run my portlet in debug mode.
Both webcenter application and portlet producer are running on the jdeveloper integrated server.
Can any one help me out mentioning steps to run the portlet and the portal app in debug mode.

Some info can be found in this thread in JDev forum: JDeveloper remote debugging OC4J
However, it is based on 10g and OC4J. Still, I believe, the overall concept can be used.

  • Help on Debug Mode in Oracle JDeveloper 10g/OC4J

    Hi All,
Presently I am using Oracle JDeveloper 10g Early Access version
              ADF Business Components     10.1.3.34.12
              Java™ Platform          1.5.0_05
              Oracle IDE               10.1.3.34.12

              and OC4J.
I want to debug all the Java files between request submission and getting response from the server in j2ee application. This we can do in eclipse ide by putting break points where ever we require and running the server in debugging mode. But I don't know how this can be done in JDeveloper/OC4J. Please can any one of you guide me, if you are aware of it. Thanks in advance.

If you mean remote debugging the application on a stand alone OC4J then here is a basic how-to:

This is also covered in the online help.

  • Recompile before existing Debug mode causes Raptor to hang

I have been able to do this a few times on 10R2, with Raptor, on Windows 2000 & XP
    1) I write a small procedure or package in Raptor.
    2) Compile it for debugging.
    3) Set a few breakpoints.
    4) Run it in debug mode within Raptor.
    5) Step through to one of my breakpoints.
    6) Go back and press the recompile for either normal or debug mode, without terminating/stopping the debug session.
    7) Raptor hangs.
On a hunch, I opened up a SQLPlus window and tried to recompile the package with an alter ... compile while Raptor was still hung. The SQLPlus session was blocked from recompiling, and eventually it gave up.
I have found just killing Raptor can leave the a minor mess in the database, and Raptor will still have problems with that procedure/package when Raptor is restarted.
It appears that given time (more then a few minutes), the database cleans up things get back to normal.
    Thanks,
    Scott

This is a known bug. The session has a lock on the DB which makes the compile lock/hang.

  • How to set debug mode in jdeveloper for SOA Suite

    Hello,
Is possible to use jdeveloper, soa suite and debug mode? I can debug my web application with oc4j embendded server. But when i want to deploy on oracle application server and debug, doesnt work.
    How can i fix that?
I saw that tutorials for jdeveloper and weblogic server, but not for oracle server.

    see :
    http://weblogs.asp.net/gsusx/archive/2006/06/01/WS_2D00_Addressing-interoperability-between-Oracle-BPEL-Process-Manager-and-Microsoft-Windows-Communication-Foundation.aspx
    http://dlimiter.wordpress.com/2009/11/16/manipulating-ws-addressing-headers-in-oracle-bpel/
on how to populate the ws-addressing elements yourself
basically you need to add the ws-addressing xsd, create a new variable of it, populate the elements and add it to your partnerlink
