Jdeveloper 11g - Access bean value after method call.

Hi There,
I have created a command button to execute a PL/SQL method call as shown in the example: 37-11 http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/web.1111/b31974/bcadvgen.htm#BABEIFAI
I have the following code, to populate a java bean in my ApplImpl class.
APIResultBean result = new APIResultBean();
// 7. Set value of dateValue property using first OUT param
result.setResultValue(st.getString(28));
// 8. Set value of stringValue property using 2nd OUT param
result.setMsgValue(st.getString(29));
System.out.println("Bean Set: " + st.getString(28) + " and: " + st.getString(29));
The java bean has the following code and is defined as a java class under my Model Controller:
package CELPAY.model;
import java.io.Serializable;
import oracle.jbo.domain.Date;
public class APIResultBean implements Serializable {
String ResultVal;
String MsgVal;
public void setResultValue(String ResultVal) {this.ResultVal=ResultVal;}
public String getResultValue() {return ResultVal;}
public void setMsgValue(String MsgVal) {this.MsgVal=MsgVal;}
public String getMsgValue() {return MsgVal;}
The procedure executes but I have no idea how to pull the out variables into a form as an output text. Ie, how do I access this bean? I have tried creating a data control, but the methods do not come through. I have also tried registering this in the adfc.-config.xml and refercing the variables.
My issue is tha the getResultValue methods are not showing in Jdevloper??
Big appreciation to any help, as I have been stuck on this all day

  • Jdeveloper 11g - JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients.

    Hi,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11g and migrating a web Service Proxy created using jdeveloper 10g.
    I imported all the proxy classes and when I try to run web service client In Jdeveloper 11g I get the following error
    "JAX-RPC 1.1 method is not supported in WLS 8.1 clients. If you are attempting to run an OC4J 10.1.3 JAX-RPC client in WLS, please see the Web Service Migration Guide for instructions."
    Please advise on how to solve this?
    which is the offending jar/library file in Jdeveloper 11g which is causing the above error?.
    Is the above problem there in the WebLogic Server Runtime also?
    Please let me know.
    2) I cannot generate web server proxies also with jdev11g because the wsdl has overloaded methods omitting the name property within the input and output message, ie, they have a null name. therefore Jdeveloper 11g is using the library which
    when called with an overloaded operation that contains null input/output message names, a duplicate error occurs because it sees other operations with the same name. so it is effectively not allowing to create the web service proxies.
    Thanks,
    Appreciate your quick response to the above

    Have you checked the 'Web Service Migration Guide' mentioned in the error message?

  • GUI unresponsive after method call

    very basic question: i want the start() method to execute my main code when i click on the 'Begin' button. here's the event handler:
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
            if ("begin".equals(e.getActionCommand()))
                start();
    }the start method then runs my main code, but the swing components are unresponsive. do i need to dispatch a seperate thread for the start method?
    thanks for the help.

    Looks like you forgot to register the listener with the button.
    Is the actionPerformed method executed at all?
    Try this:
    public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e)
            System.out.println(e.getActionCommand());
            if ("begin".equals(e.getActionCommand()))
                System.out.println(Before start());
                start();
    }

  • Ide.pref.dir in Jdeveloper 11g R1

    Hi, by default Jdeveloper 11g set the value of the enviroment variable "ide.pref.dir" with the %USERPROFILE%. I will like to change this value.
    I try setting a new value for ide.user.dir.var in both the jdev.boot file and ide.boot file, it didn't work.
    Because of the value set in this variable, the Integrated Weblogic domain can't start.
    I can see the value in jdeveloper IDE, in the menu help > about > properties
    Error:
    "C:\Users\Daniel Caciá\AppData\Roaming\JDeveloper\system11.1.1.2.36.55.36\DefaultDomain\bin\startWebLogic.cmd"
    [waiting for the server to complete its initialization...]
    The system cannot find the path specified.
    Thanks for the help!!!

    I change ide.user.dir in both files and it works.

  • A tricky way to twick ValueBinding language to bind a method call

    Here is the scenario:
    I'd like component can bind value to method call(with parameters) to a java instance, of course including backingBean.
    I wish this solution would be useful, especially when you are working in iteration component such as ForEach, TreeView or DataTable, EL ValueBinging language might be too restricted to complex expression. This way, you can pass iteration items as parameters into a method can and return a value to you page by valuebinding language

    Improvement:
    Anyone can make it thread safety and bind callhelper and callend directly to FacesContext properties rather than each backingBean.

    You must seperate your parameter preparing and action method calling for sure.
    It depends on what kind of parameters you need to pass in:
    1. If action method is bound to several buttons, and it just wants to know which button was clicked, you can set actionListener to prepare it for you. Because the event includes the information you need.
    2. For other kinds of parameters, you can use ValueBinding Language to bind parameter values to backingBean, then the action method(without parameters) can pick parameters up from backingBean.

  • How to pass attribute values after ExecuteWithParam to method call

    Hi,
    I am using Jdev 11.1.1.6.
    My use case is that I have mainPage BTF which has ExecuteWithParam as the default activity. This filters the VO using params. I have a requirement to store some of the attributes from current row to pageFlowScope which needs to be passed to multiple child taskflows.
    I can introduce a method call after ExecuteWithParam activity and before the page renders but not sure how should I pass the current row (or something) to this method call to store the values on pageFlowScope.
    What should I pass to this managed bean to store the values on pageFlowScope? Is there any alternative?
    Thanks,
    Jai

    I see two possible ways to get to the attributes. First you can get the iterator current row and get the attributes from there. Second you add attribute bindings to the methods pageDef file for all attributes you are interested in. Then you access them using the attribute binding. I never tested the 2nd method but I guess the framework will fill the attribute bindings like it does in a normal page.
    Sorry, can't give you sample code on this add I'm not in front of a PC.

  • Oracle Alert: Access before and after update values of a table column

    We have a requirement where a notification needs to be sent when 'END_DATE' attribute (column in a table X) is set, in an Oracle Applications form.
    I have defined an Event based Oracle Alert which fires 'On Update' of the table X.
    Could anyone please let me know as how to access the value of 'END_DATE' before and after update (i.e :new.END_DATE and :old.END_DATE) in the sql query of the alert.
    The need to use the before update and after update values of the attribute 'END_DATE' is that if we add the condition END_DATE is not null, the alert is sent even if any other attrbutes are updated in the Oracle form which is not the intended behavior.
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanks

    Hi
    use selectionlistener for your first table then add clientlistener and serverlistener so that you will get the rows on click in back bean.
    then get second table vo and and create and add row for that view object. add partial target to refresh your second table from back bean.
    on click of save call commit operation.

    Sankari Kannan

    Hi Sankari,
    Since after the initial method call, your control flow has the router as its next stop, the //method-call/method/outcome/fixed-outcome can be set to a literal value(go to router) instead of an EL.
    And let router decide where to go next(by EL).
    Or you can discard your router activity, let the method-call activity decide where to go directly by setting //method-call/method/outcome/to-string to "true". Then the return value of the method decide the next stop.

  • Prob in accessing DataSourece value from netui-data:repeater after submit

    HI all,
              I am new to this WLWS. PLease guide me in the following scenario:
              I am retrieving an array of records (activityDetails[]) from a Db control and setting this to the datasource property of a netui-data:repeater. Basically I am populating a list of records in my jsp page which works fine.
              But When a submit the page, I am not able to access that array of records from the action method difined in my controller.jpf file, even though I have declared the array in the Form bean.
              And I am not sure if have set the proper datasource for the checkBox defined within the records. The purpose of this checkbox is to select the records form the list to be saved in the database. Is there any better way of achieving the same.

    Personally, I have had a hard time doing what you are asking for using netui tags. I have had the same case, and asked the person in my team to just return a collection of value objects and then iterate through it without the repeater tag. To use the checkbox, I have had to use a String[].

  • Calling session bean's business method through web dynpro component

    Hi All,
    Can anybody tell me how to call a session bean's methods through a web dynpro WITHOUT java-model or web service model ??
    I have following scenario:-
    1. Stateless Session bean having two business methods
    2. Web Dynpro component
    3.Now i want to call business methods without using any model. I have got following piece of code but I dont know how to go about it.
    4.Where do i have to set JNDI name for session bean? which interface will be looked for?
    5. Do I have to declare public part for EJB DC? If yes, how?
    //This is inside web dynpro component
    InitialContext   context = new InitialContext();
    o = context.lookup(JNDIName);
    TestSessionbeanHome homeRef = (TestSessionbeanHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow( o,
    TestSessionbeanHome.class);
    TestSessionbean beanRef = homeRef.create();
    <returnValue> = beanRef.<ejb method name>
    Please help to get a step-by-step approach to this case.
    Thanks and regards,
    Amey Mogare

    Hi,
    If  I comment out the part that is using session bean's business method, DC is building fine.
    And if I uncomment, then compiler is unabl eto resolve business method(s).
    And i would like to mention that my EJB + J2EE App DC is building properly, but it havent yet deployed properly as I am waiting for data-source-alias name prefix to be configured by ERP team. So will this be a reason why Web Dynpro DC is not able to resolve business methods ??
    Because Web Dynpro DC is able to resolved all interfaces of Session bean and entity bean. But when it comes to business method, its not able to resolve.
    Any more ideas why it is not happening?
    Pls help.
    Now i went through some forum posts regarding this and found that we also need to add EJB DC to Java Build Path for WebDynproDC>Properties>Java Build Path.
    I did this and now it is able to resolve business methods and DTOs as well. So to summarize I did following:-
    1. Added EJB DC (complete DC) as a Used DC to Web Dynpro DC with Buid-n-Deploy-n-Run time dependency
    2. Added Sharing reference of J2EE application DC to Web Dynpro DC -->Properties
    This reference I constructed as follows:-
    <vendorname>/<name of j2ee application as appearing under display name tag in application.xml (replacing '/' with '~')>
    So my Sharing Reference becomes:- <vendorname>/reqpstapscreqpstapja_reqid
    3. Added EJB DC to Java Build Path in Web Dynpro DC's properties
    4. Then I added following piece of code to get object of SessionBean class
    InitialContext context = new InitialContext();
    Object o = context.lookup("java:comp/env/ejb/SessionRequestIDBean");
    SessionRequestIDHome homeRef = (SessionRequestIDHome) PortableRemoteObject.narrow(o, SessionRequestIDHome.class);
    SessionRequestID beanRef = homeRef.create();
    beanRef.<business method>
    But After doing this I am facing another problem :-
    The build fails saying it is not able find the package for DTOs. But when I see the Component Controller's code it is not showing any red or yellow marks.
    Can anybody pls help me out here?
    Thanks and regards,

  • How to call actionLister after "enforcePreventUserInput" method called

    Hi,
    in my use case i have a table with inputText where i have valueChage Listener method execute and one commadImageLink button(save).
    so i have add glass pane to prevent user input until value chage event is busy. using this tutorial link.
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/testcontent/27-long-running-queries-169166.pdf
    and this is working fine.
    problem is when user change some value on input Text and click on save button.
    javascript method call and glass pane popup visible to user until value change event is not completed accepted. but it is skip save button action Listener method.
    i mean actionListener method of save button not executed.
    i want after executing value chage event busy state popup save method is also executed.
    How can i do this?
    regards
    Manish

    Click on the Save button after the valueChangeEvent call has returned implying after the glass pane popup closes. Won't be feasible to invoke two action listeners simultaneously unless Ajax is used for the JavaScript method call from the inputText action method to return.
    Similar to
    <h:inputText id="name" event="" value="#{}">
       <f:ajax listener="#{}" render="" />
    </h:inputText>

  • How to call the form bean value on jsp withthe help of jstl tag

    hi
    all friends
    i am working in struts & i use jstl tag in jsp. i have one problem rise is how to call the form bean value in jsp page by using jstl tag.
    i now how to retrive the value through jsp:logic
    eg. <logic:empty name="userListForm" property="users">
    NO USER FOUND
    </logic:empty>
    see * userListForm mean formbaen name.
    * users means collection object.
    so how can i write above e.g in jstl

    You use the jstl core:if or core:choose combined with the EL:
    <c:if test="${empty users.userListForm}">
    NO USERS FOUND
    </c:if>I suggest you lookup the jsp expression language (EL) using google, it's very powerful.
