JDeveloper 9.0.2 Tutorial - Example Schemas not installing

I have successfully installed JDeveloper through the Oracle 9iDS download. To go through some of the tutorials, you need to have the order entry sample schema installed. We used the Oracle 9i Database Configuration Assistant to install the sample schemas, and it only allowed us to install two, the owners being HR and SH.
Does anyone have an idea why the other sample schemas were not available to be installed?
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
The Order Entry schema is one of the common schemas included in the 9i database. You need to unlock user OE.
Your JDeveloper installation also includes scripts to install the 8i version of the OE and HR schemas; you'll find these
in jdev_home\jdev\tutorials\sample_schema_scripts. These scripts create new users OE8 and HR8, then install the
schemas.

  • Mate-screenshot GLib-GIO-ERROR - schema not installed

I installed mate desktop and everything works except the mate-util packages like mate-screenshot.. When I try to run mate-screenshot or mate-dictionary I get this error:
    [deadpool@nix64 ~]$ mate-screenshot
    (mate-screenshot:1417): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.mate.screenshot' is not installed

I really don't know what to do.

what version of the mate-utils package do you have?
    1.6.0-4? that one should work
    previous 1.6.0-3 had some issues
    edit:
you can also try to run
    /usr/bin/glib-compile-schemas /usr/local/share/glib-2.0/schemas/
to see if that compiles the schemas or not

  • JDeveloper reports: The JAX-RPC extension is not installed

Hi. I'm attempting to publish a JAX-RPC Web Service, following the instructions in the "Publish a JAX-RPC Java Web Service" document from Oracle Magazine (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/webservices/htdocs/series/jaxrpc1/index.html). I get all the way to the point of creating the Web Service from the Emp.jpr (step 13). When I select "JAX-RPC Web Services" as my "Deployment Platform" and press "Next" I get a dialog saying "The JAX-RPC extension is not installed. Either install the extension or choose a differrent platform for the service." I have, in fact, installed the JAX-RPC extension (following the instructions at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jaxrpc/readme.html).
Does anyone know the cause of this problem? Thanks.

I"m also getting this message while trying to launch mini bridge on a Mac. I went to the Library folder you noted and the mini bridge extension is not there. I have 4 extensions present: BuzzwordAccessBundle, CSREviewBundle, Knowledge, and STORY. However the PS menu item Window>Extensions, the Extensions is grayed out. Also when I click on the "CS Live" button in the upper right of PS window, nothing happens.
I havn't used mini bridge much because I use Lightroom for organization, but I know I've used it in the past and it worked, so I can't understand how it would just disappear, and why these other things would stop working.
How can I reinstall mini bridge and get the CS Live button and extensions working again?
I'm back. I installed a couple of extensions to see what would happen and the Extensions button was still grayed out. Too shorten the story; it occurred to me to check what mode PS was running in. I had switched it to 32 bit mode so some not yet updated plugins would work. I switched it to 64 bit mode and bingo, everything works now, including mini bridge, though it is still not present in the Library folder you mention.

  • Gsettings schema not installed?

    All:
Whenever I try to start firefox, it crashes after going to any website with a core dump. With gdb, I obtained this:
(firefox:7395): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: No GSettings schemas are installed on the system
Program received signal SIGTRAP, Trace/breakpoint trap.
    0x00007ffff0c5aa27 in g_logv () from /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0
I've tried to recompile schemas with
    glib-compile-schemas /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas
but it hasn't helped. I've also tried reinstalling glib, glib2 and firefox, also to no avail.
It appears that it might be permssions-related, since I can run it with gksudo just fine. Any ideas?

I've come back, and tested it on my arch machine. Running the xorg.sh script allows firefox to work normally.

  • Scott schema not included in Oracle 12c?

I just downloaded Oracle 12c however I noticed that there's no scott.sql in the oracle directories.. (/rdbms/admin/scott.sql)
Tried downloading scott.sql and add but it wasn't added successfully as I checked for scott username from dba_users as said in this guide: Oracle Training - Oracle Video Tutorial | Installing the SCOTT schema | Oracle Tutorials - YouTube
Is there anyway to add it?
I also needed the other tables EMP, DEPT, etc.. for my final project.
    Thank you!

That is not an official Oracle video, so the content is questionable.
I have not installed 12c personally, but this link may be helpful - Contents

  • Is it a bug in Sun's Tutorial example!!!!

Hello everybody! I donno whether the following Tutorial example code is buggy or not but it won't run under j2sdk 1.4.2 and also under 1.5 as smoothly as Tutorial says(only the 1st line prints but not all). You can find the code:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/io/dataIO.html
    And the file name is:
    DataIODemo
Does anyone know how to make it work?
    Thanks.

The author made a "bonehead" error - s/he hardcoded a newline character ('\n') when writing the invoice1.txt file. Since this is a UNIX/Linux character, it will not cause an error when run there - BUT - when run on an OS that doesn't use that convention - Windows, etc - it results in an incorrectly written file.
This illustrates a code portability problem; don't hardcode!
I leave as an exercise for the reader the correction of the format of the total dollar amount.
A corrected copy is below. //********* preceeds changes. Compare with the original to see the differences.

  • 11gR2 DBCA ORA-00959: tablespace 'EXAMPLE' does not exist

    Hello everyone,
I have searched for this specific error but found nothing on it (wonder why I am always the only one having those weird problem!!!)
When I use DBCA, interactive graphical tool, to create a database the process won't end normally if I include example schema.
Somewhere during the process I have an error message with the following : ORA-00959: tablespace 'EXAMPLE' does not exist. <-- well, the reason why it doesn't exist is because YOU are supposed to create it .... duh!
Anyone have experienced the same problem?

  • Using jsp to connect SavingAccount tutorial example

    Hello
I have a question on the tutorial i do not know if this is the right place but here it is
I tried to change the SavingAccount EJB (j2eettutorial exmple chapter 24)and add a Web client to it. I modified the JSP which was used in the converter exmple to use savingsAccount Ejbs.
I have spent a week on this simple example, it compiles, and deployed without a problem but when i run it on the browser it says error 404 the page does not exist.
the exmple is only one Bean with two interfaces and one jsp page called index.jsp I am going mad, started to panic there is nothing wrong still why it does not work.
I packaged the bean and used /context root for jsp imported the bean in jsp give the resource ref inside the jsp ...
I do not understand what is the mestray behind this. is it because i only use one simple jsp? than what else should use to connect to ejb? can anyone help me please

  • Trouble With Web Services Tutorial Examples

I am having trouble getting the Web Services Tutorial examples to run.
For example, when I compiled the hello1 example, and tried to run it, I got a directory listing. All the directory listing contained was the dukewaving.gif file.
When I tried to run hello2, I got something similar. This time though, there were two jsp files in the listing. By clicking on the first one, I was able to run the application.
Now I can't run the bookstore1 example. I went back a second time, to be sure that I was following the instructions exactly as written. I am gettng an HTTP Status 404 - Servlet BookStoreServlet is not available.
I don't know why this is happening. There were no errors when I ran the Ant targets, and the WAR file did get copied to the webapps directory.
I would be very grateful for any help. I am very new to Java and am finding this very frustrating.
    Thank You,
    Chrissy

  • Run client execution problem  when running Sun J2EE tutorial example

    Hi,
I'm trying to run the Sun J2EE tutorial example, CartApp.
When come to run the client application I got the following error:
    The command:
E:\Dev\src\J2EE_J2EE_tutorial\examples\ears>runclient -client CarApp.ear -name CartClient -textauth
    The error:
Application threw an exception:java.io.IOException: CarApp.ear does not exist
    The deployment complete without error.
I tried to the the APPCPATH to :
    set APPCPATH=E:\Dev\src\J2EE_J2EE_tutorial\examples\ears\CartAppClient.jar
    set APPCPATH=CartAppClient.jar
On both set, it gave the same error above.
Did someone known the problem I have ?
    Thnaks

    hi ,
I think u have given other disply name to your J2EE client ,
Anyway check disply name of J2EE client through deploytool.
u have to use that display name to access the j2ee client .
suppose ur j2ee client displyname is testclient, u can use:
    runclient -client ConverterApp.ear -name testclient
    hope this will help u,
    babu.

  • 10g: How to install example schema

    Hi,
how can I install the HR example schema in 10g?
$ORACLE_HOME\demo\schema\human_resources containes only hr_code.sql which is not the main script. While $ORACLE_HOME\demo\schema\mkplug.sql asks for an import file name.
    thanks
    aldo

Even when these scripts are missing one can use the DBCA to install these sample schema. How does DBCA do it . I doubt that it uses the mkplug.sql script it even creates a log named as mkplug_v3_SID.txt.
but then it seems that one can not run it manually easily as the path of datafile and export files are not specified anywhere .

  • Got the example schema scott when installing 11gR2 via response files

    Hi everybody,
I installed 11gR2 on Solaris 10 x86-64 into a zone for testing purpose only and used the following variable:
    # This variable controls whether to load Example Schemas onto the starter
    # database or not.
    oracle.install.db.config.starterdb.installExampleSchemas=false
It works pretty good but still got the scott schema an all his tables.
So please could someone give me a tip what goes wrong and how to avoid installing this schema onto the database.
    Thanx in advance
