JDeveloper 9.0.5.2 and Reports Objects

When do you release the extension of JDeveloper 9.0.5.2 to make Reports Objects (Reports Destination,...)?
I try to make a Reports Destination with JDev 9.0.4.0 and publish to a AS10g (ver. 9.0.4.0.99), but after configuration the web reports application it doesn't start with new configuration.
I put my jar file on
$ORACLE_HOME/reports/jlib
I modify REPORTS_CLASSPATH with Oracle Enterprise Manager Application Server Control
I modify $ORACLE_HOME/reports/conf/server_name.conf file with new destination.
I don't known where is the error.

We are in the process of fixing any issues with JDev 9.0.5 integration. Till then if you just want to create plugin destination (and other plugins like notification etc) you can follow the following steps

Aligment of text & report objects on report

hi,
I have report that fits into 4 pages due to large lenth of report. The report object thats on the report are aligned well for first page but as i go to page downwards i.e 2,3,4 the Text and report object that i have inserted get distorted
and are not aligned in same way as on 1st page. Is there a setting for each individual page on the report ? or what setting should i check for the same?

There isn't any easy or elegant way in Crystal Reports to generate records dynamically but here are 2 suggestions;
1) Concatenate the fields you want to display with a carraige return separator (Chr(13)) and assign this value to a variable. Use the replicatestring function along with the database field that outputs the number of copies needed.
For instance
stringvar d:= + chr(13) + + chr(13) + + chr(13)
replicatestring(d, {field that outputs number of copies})
Set this formula to can grow and it will repeat the appropriate number of times.
2) Create a command object similar to the following;
select top (10) -999 as linker from orders
This will generate 10 dummy records.
Link this command object to your table with a Not Equal join.
This will cause each record from your table to repeat 10 times.
Set up a counter formula and suppress the details section when the counter is greater than the number of copies needed field

Prepare templates of the existing reports and data objects.

I'm trying to create templates of the reports and dataobjects created in oracle BAM. I've created some reports on a server and i need the same reports with same dataobjects on other servers. Is there any method to create the template of existing reports and data objects.

You will have to export the Data Objects and Repots and import in the other environments using icommand.
TO preserve the report id's you can use option preserveid
and also supposeyou have 1 report which internally calls three other reports you can export the main report using dependencies option with icommand export use dependencies 1 and this will export all ur sub reports with main report..

Oracle forms and reports with object views in oracle 9i

Can We use oracle 9i Object Views in oracle forms and reports. If yes, then which version?

I have already used the HS services to connecto to external databases from our main Oracle database, and the solution works fine.
But unfortunally for this particular client he cannont have installed a Oracle database due to internal policies restrictions.
I can not migrate the full application to another technology like ADF in less than 6 or 8 months.
Do you thifnk that there is any other solution?

Difference between Crystal Reports Server 2008 and Business Objects XI R2

Can anyone please help me know the difference between Crystal Reports Server 2008 and Business Objects XI R2? Both the support guides says that it supports Office 2007. I have a problem in exporting the reports to Excel 2007 .I have downloaded the trial version of Crystal Reports Server 2008 but still unable to view my complete reports in Excel 2007 through infoview because few of my report's colums are truncated and it still exports in Excel 2003.I have LiveOfficeXIR2_SP4 and Office 2007 installed. Is it so that i have to switch over to Business Objects XI R2 or any other to solve my problem instead of using Crystal Reports Server 2008 or is it the problem with the version of my Live office.Pls help me regarding this..

Calling Reports from Forms, and creating Reports objects

Hello I'm trying to create a Form which lists and launches all of our Reports. In our Client/Server set up we just have a Form which is based on a lookup table of Reports. When the user selects a report on the Form RUN_PRODUCT is used to call the report.
In Forms 9, do I have to create a Report object in the Form for every Report in our system and do I really have to modify the Form every time a new Report is created to add the new Report in?

No, one single report object could fit for any report, if you modify its properties at runtime. 
For information, I have written a Forms 9i module able to run any report with 0 up to 10 parameters

Package and User Objects of reports/macros/...

Hello,
in my program I need to find out the package of a report. So for example I have a report with an include or macro statement. I know which report is included, but not its package.
The table TRDIR seems to have no information about the containing package and TADIR contains user objects not reports.
For example a global class ZCL_CAR is realized through reports like ZCL_CAR===(...)===CP and so on. Is there a way to obtain the package of arbitrary reports and the object in TADIR that contains that report? And do you know in which cases a user object can contain other reports?

Not able to see EO and VO Objects in offline database in jdeveloper

We have a offline database. I opened it in database edition mode in jdeveloper , but i can`t see EO, VO and AM OBJECTS(with their specific icons) in the project. Although i am able to see respective XML files.

EO/VO/AM are not part of offline database mode, they are part of ADF. You need to use studio edition mode.

If you installed Oracle9iDS then you should have the report object inside the JDeveloper that came with this install (9.0.2). It won't work in a JDeveloper that you installed separatly.

JDeveloper 10g and Reports Integration?

How do you Integrate Oracle Reports to JDeveloper10g. I know you can do it in JDeveloper9i and Reports 9i, but i don't see anything in JDeveloper10g and Reports?

There still isn't an Oracle Reports extension for 10.1.3 (there should be one for 10.1.2 when you install Oracle Developer Suite).
That said, you can still call Oracle Reports' reports using any of the method they expose for activating reports (web services, URL etc). See the publishing reports book.

Copy data models and reports from BW 3.1 to NW 2004s

Our client has two BW servers: BW 3.1 and BI 7. BW 3.1 contains lots of data models and reports. And the BI 7 server is newly installed.
Now we want to copy these data models and reports from BW 3.1 to the new BI 7 server. Are there any solutions for this?

Hi Frank,
Sounds like a cross version transport is needed.
This is a solution we have used to do what you want to do:-
Create and release a transport as per normal.
Copy and transport the files from the source system (BW 3.1) e.g /usr/sap/trans/data & /usr/sap/trans/cofiles to the same folders on the target system.
Basis help is needed here.
From here onwards using stms_import should help you in the normal manner.
Works a treat.
Have transported the following all correctly appearing as 3.x data models in NW2004s.
DSO objects.
Cubes
Transfer/Update rules
Reports.

Wrong folder and report sorting

We installed BO XI R2 SP4. Folder and report sorting is incorrect. How to fix that?

we just started our mirgation from 6.5 to XI
so BO XI SP4 on .NET is our first XI installation.
Sort order is incorrect for both folders and objects
and for both asc and desc orders.
Most of folders/objects are sorted correctly but several of them are out of order.
Examples:

Oracle Forms and Reports Installation - Creating domain failed

I installed the weblogic 10.3.6 (Oracle WebLogic Server 11gR1 (10.3.6) + Coherence + OEPE - Package Installer) in my Microsoft Windows(32-bit JVM) system first.
But there was an error occorred when the package of forms and reports (Oracle Forms and Reports 11gR2 (11.1.2.2.0)) was installing.

hi user ...
on windows there are some steps in front of installation and configuration.
1) cleare the Windows Env (Path .. Programme x86 )
no Blank in Path and so on
2) insert into your local host file your server and IP Adress
3) in Windows 32 setup of WLS is JDK included so you don't have to install the jdk in front of WLS
4) verify if you are using the right installation medium (jdk 32 bit, wls 32 bit , fmw 32 bit
in your OraInventory/logs directory is a *.out file for your installation please can you put this file in the forum
is there a nodemanager up and running (if so please stop)
