  • OTN JDeveloper download license is internal development license only.

JDeveloper has been declared free, with charges only for optional support and maintenance.
However, to get it, one still has to accept the "OTN License Agreement terms" which say:
We grant you a nonexclusive, nontransferable limited license to use the components only for the purpose of developing a single prototype of your application for your internal business operations, and not for any other purpose. If you want to use the application you develop using the components for any internal data processing or for any commercial or production purposes you must contact us, or an Oracle reseller, to obtain the appropriate license. If you want to use the program or components for any purpose other than as expressly permitted under this agreement you must contact us, or an Oracle reseller, to obtain the appropriate license. We may audit your use of the programs.
So, how does one get a license to allow production use?

    Thanks Frank.
My company requires the license agreement to be approved by our legal staff before the software can be used within the company. That applies to all software - both freeware and and commercial. The fact that JDeveloper is free is great, and there is a lot of interest from our staff, but their doesn't appear to be a commercial license available to look at, which prevents us from using it at the moment.
What we need is the commercial license agreement one would agree to when purchasing JDeveloper previously. I understand the need for the OTN license for the commercial modules within JDev, however to use the IDE itself, we need a full use license agreement. As JDeveloper can only be downloaded from OTN, can OTN add the commercial full use license for JDev?

  • Virus in JDeveloper download?

I just tried downloading the JDeveloper 11g tech preview but my virus scanner reported that the file contained a trojan: TrojanSpy.BayFraud.CW.

This is a false positive. Please see this thread:

  • Oralce JDeveloper download problem

think Oracle should take a look in your servers and see what the hell is happening with the downloads.
Several people are trying to download their software whithout success.
It's really a shame to a company that call yourself as a technology pioneer.
The error is always the same, the download starts, then interrupts before you get the full file.

Yes i have the same problem. All attempts (maybe 6 or 7 now) hang at about 50-60% . It s very frustrating, not only because i have a slow connection (ADSL 256) but also i would really love to try Jdev for our next project , and i guess i d stop here. BTW I cant use my download manger to get it (dl accelerator) so every failure means i have to download the whole file again.

I had the very same problem.... What did work was downloading
the separate files and using the batch file to concatenate them
into a zip. The resulting file WAS processed by winzip.

  • JDeveloper 3.0 Download

Is Oracle 8i included in the downloaded software? I have Personal Oracle 8.0.4 at the moment and it seems not to be working with JDeveloper 3.0.

No, Oracle 8i is not included in the JDeveloper download - However, you can download Oracle 8i just as easily.
They are not bundled because it makes it easier for the download process.
    Oracle JDeveloper (2.0+) includes
"Java in the Database" features - these
features require the Oracle 8i database (version 8.1.5 with JServer).
Oracle JDeveloper 3.0 enhances the support for Oracle 8i - but again, these features will not work with Oracle 8.0.4

  • JDeveloper for Mac Download Error

The Mac JDeveloper download just loads the gz file into a webpage
and does not invoke download manager. Is there an issue here? I
posted this problem 10 days ago but have not recieved a response
yet. This is still happening. Thanks,
    Kathy Myers

Thanks Mark. Only all of your other otn downloads work fine
on this same computer / webbrowser.
The Mac JDeveloper download is different. I'm not sure saving
the contents of the webpage to a file will work. It never seems
to quit loading the page, so I'm not sure when it's OK to save
    the data to a file.

  • Download of JDeveloper

    Hi,
I am trying to download Oracle9i Jdeveloper yet when I click on the Jdeveloper download page I get redirected to the following URL http://www.oracle.com/start/jdevelopereap/intro.html?src=855007&Act=8 which contains no link for downloading (though an error with a semicolon is reported by my browser on the page). I've tried to access this umpteen different ways and to no avail. What am I doing wrong or is there a different location for downloading?
    I'd appreciate any help,
    Henry.
