JDeveloper install

Hi,
installing SOA suite 11gR1 on win 2003 enterprise server sp2. When installing jdevstudio11111install.exe I receive the following error message :
The product maintenance level of the current installer (Weblogic Server :10.3.1.0)  is not compatible with the maintenance level of the product installed on your system (Weblogic server : 10.3.2.0). Please obtain compatible installer or performe maintenance on your current system to achieve the desired level.
Any solution ?
Thank you.

Hi,
It is not advisable to have mix install of different releases on the same Middleware Home.
I suggest that you install the latest releases (released sometime yesterday), the 11g R1 Patchset 2 from this link: http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/middleware/htdocs/fmw_11_download.html
You should download JDeveloper, SOA, and RCU that are versioned 11.1.1.3 and Weblogic 10.3.3

  • Forms 11 install with Jdeveloper installed need weblogic install?

I'm trying to install forms11 and have the lastest version of jdeveloper installed that has a weblogic server. Do i still need to install weblogic server before installing forms11?
    Edited by: ow008339 on 10-Aug-2009 01:37

I first installed the latest version of JDeveloper allowing it to install in all the default locations. This installed to c:\oracle\middleware. I then installed forms 11 into the middleware directory. I went with most of the default values on the install, this is the configuration I ended up with for forms. When I was installing forms at one point it said "Setup Complete" and my pc seemed to hang for about 15 minutes before it started the configuration section.

  • JDeveloper install is machine-based, not user-based ! [Solved]

    Hi,
I am in a Windows 2003 domain development setup where several users can share the same computer to develop. From my understanding, JDeveloper install and settings handling is machine-based, not user-based ! This is quite a problem because if a user changes of computer to develop, he will lose his JDev settings. How can I solve this, by saving the user settings to a remote folder ?
    Thanks
EDIT: I solved this problem by adding a JDEV_USER_HOME environment variable pointing to a shared folder.

  • Appliance with JDeveloper installed

    Hi,
Anyone knows, some appliance with JDeveloper installed on it? like the ones we encounter in http://www.rpath.org/
The ideia, is to have an appliance with all a developer need to develop using JDeveloper, and in case a machine crash, just install the image, and continues to work, without, having to reconfigure all.

  • Jdeveloper install on os x lion (10.7.5)

    Hi,
I'm trying to install jdeveloper 11.2.3 on os x lion (10.7.5).. I followed the directions "Installing JDeveloper on Mac OS X Lion" by Shay Shmeltzer and I was not able to go pass the JDK selection. I also followed Chris Muir thread on this topic but I was unsuccessful.
    Here are the java details
    java version "1.6.0_37"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_37-b06-434-11M3909)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.12-b01-434, mixed mode)
    I really appreciate your help.
    Thanks In Advance,

    Hi Chris,
Thanks for your help but I'm still having difficulty installing this
    1) Install the Java JDK by opening Applications > Utilities > Java Preferences
Looks like with the recent update , apple took away this app. So I cannot use this one
    2) Follow section 8 in our guide: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/install.1111/e13666/ojdig.htm#BDCFFEJC
Followed all the steps in section 8.. Please see the following.
    Shree-iMac:Home shree$ pwd
    /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home

  • Custom JDeveloper Install

I am having a problem when taking a customized version of JDeveloper (10.1.3.4.0) with connections to DB's and AppServers ... and copying it from CPU1 to CPU2. I have created a "customized" version of JDeveloper with additional classpaths, db & app server connections, color, window layout, etc.etc.etc. I would like to take this and zip it up onto shared storage here at my company so that when I make a change to the environment or there is a new version of JDeveloper it is in a place where everyone can get to it, but not before I have ran some checks to make sure our apps will migrate correctly. So when putting this "customized" version on the shared storage and then copying it down to another workstation I have problems in running the embedded oc4j engine. I tells me that the resource could not be initialized. I then experimented with renaming the JDEV_HOME/jdev/system/oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.42.70 directory and starting JDev. JDev in turn re-creates the missing folder perfectly. However I am now missing all of my app server and db connections. So then I renamed the internal folder "embedded-oc4j" only, but when Jdev starts this time there are several missing folders and files. Which gets me to my question ....
Is there a way that I can have a version on shared storage zipped up that can simply be unzipped down to a local workstation and work perfectly as it does on my workstation without having to copy in any extra files (i.e. IDEConnections.xml) after they have started JDeveloper?

Ok so I have finally figured out what I was looking to do ... The original problem was that I have 15 or so developers who are using JDeveloper and wanted a way to send down a preconfigured version of JDeveloper so that each developer had the same environment. The fix for this is to copy down your configured version of JDeveloper then right click on "My Computer" and go to properties. Go to the advanced tab and set up an environmental variable with the name of "JDEV_USER_DIR" and a value of a shared storage directory that everyone has access to. Once you have done this move the system folder out of %JDEV_HOME%\jdev into the new shared storage directory that you setup in your jdev_user_dir variable. Now when you start JDev it will use this to find your configuration files. VERY NICE!

  • How to install ADF Mobile extension to JDeveloper on OSX 10.8.2

Using the info from the following discussion thread it was pretty straightforward to install jdeveloper to OSX 10.8.2.
Re: Jdeveloper install on os x lion (10.7.5)
as well as the blog posts
    http://adf4beginners.blogspot.be/2012/10/installing-jdeveloper-on-mac-osx-108.html
    https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/installing_jdeveloper_on_mac_os
Now the issue is that when I try to install the ADF Mobile extension I run into problems:
I tried installing both directly from the update centres as well as from local file, but the
only extension available after restart is the "ADF Mobile Help" (oracle.adf.mobile.doc).
I can also see from the startup console a lot of warning messages of type as indicated below.

you gave me the courage to move along, and I stumbled across some info
(should have given a link here, but not able to find the most correct one right now)
As a matter of fact it seems like several postings in blogs and discussion forums touch this area.
Just wonder if we could smooth this process a bit.
issuing this command sequence, did the trick:
    sudo mkdir -p /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/jre/lib
    cd /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Home/jre/lib
    sudo ln -s /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/classes/classes.jar rt.jar
Then for jdk location I selected
    /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.6.0/Contents/Home

  • Install sqldeveloper on windows 7 64 Bit and Oracle 11.2

    Hi,
how can I find the rigth jdk. I installed JDK on C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_23.
I installed Oracle 11.2 including sqldeveloper. But I cannot find the correct folder to start sqldeveloper.
Where can I find this path?
When I include a path with java.exe I get the error "Unable to find a Java Virtual Machine. To point to a locacion of a Java Virtual Machine, pleaser refer to the Oracle9i Jdeveloper Install guide (jdev\install.html)" Where can I find this?
    Thank you for your help
    Siegwin

I am on Windows 7 64 bit. I see that installing Oracle 11.2 database installs SQL Developer also but that doesn't work. I get the .bat file not found crap. What I then did was do a seperate install of SQL Developer for 64 bit, but that does NOT install the jdk.
I then did the java install from:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-6u25-download-346242.html
    I selected: jdk-6u25-windows-x64.exe
I then point to the java.exe where this install loaded it (c:\program files\Java\jdk1.6.0_25\bin when I start up sql developer and it still gives the same error. I delete the SetJavaHome value in the sqldeveloper.conf file and try again over and over but it still gives the same error.
So, I have windows 7 - 64 bit operating system. I have Oracle 11.2 database installed. I have a seperate installation of SQL Developer 64 bit and I have the java jdk for 64 bit installed.
Nothing is working. Can anyone please steer me in the correct direction? Should I delete the second install of SQL Developer 64 bit and to an install of SQL Developer 32 bit?
    Please help

  • Stand alone APEX listener install fails with timezone region  not found

    Hi,
I have searched the forum but found only a thread for the installation with Goldfish.
I am very new to all this so I apologise if my problem is too simple, but please help as I am very frustrated with it.
I have a 10.2.0.4 database on Windows XP for testing with.
I installed APEX into it successfully, then down loaded the listener.
I have to Java installations, one under my Oracle Home, the other under Middleware where I have JDeveloper installed.
If I try $ORACLE_HOME/jdk/bin/java -jar apex.war it throws a Unsupported class version so I tried with the Middleware jdk and it appeared to install.
I then went to http://localhost:8080/apex/listenerConfigure and entered the password for APEX_PUBLIC_USER and the info for a basic connection, it fails with the following message
Request could not be processed due to error:
    Sat Apr 30 00:06:30 CAT 2011
ORA-00604: error occurred at recursive SQL level 1
    ORA-01882: timezone region not found
Please if anyone can help me through asap this I would be most grateful

    Yay, I found the solution:
    I started by running:
    begin
    for v_rec in (select tzname,tz_offset(tzname) v_offset from v$timezone_names
    where tzabbrev='CAT') loop
    dbms_output.put_line('tzname '||v_rec.tzname||', offset '|| v_rec.v_offset);
    end loop;
    end;
    SQL> /
    tzname Africa/Khartoum, offset +03:00
    tzname Africa/Windhoek, offset +01:00
    tzname America/Anchorage, offset -08:00
    tzname US/Alaska, offset -08:00
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
I then added -Duser.timezone="+01:00" before the apex.war ie
    java –jar -Duser.timezone="+01:00" apex.war

    Olaf,
Sorry I missed your blog post. It was helpful, but it did not allow me to successfully run my application on the standalone WebLogic 10.3. To do this, I did the following:
    1. Created ADF/ADF Faces web application - runs fine in integrated WebLogic Instance.
    2. Followed directions to setup standalone WebLogic Server as outlined in above posts with links to Duncan Mills and Chris Muir, including installation of latest JDeveloper ADF libraries.
    3. Copied adfmweb.jar, adfm.jar, adfdt_common.jar to .../domains/adf_domain/lib/ following setup by Chris Muir.
    4. In console in standalone WebLogic 10.3 server, create JDBC Data Source with name jdbc/whdp_DS (In the test, I got an error. At this point, I replaced the URL with the JDBC custom URL that I use in SQL Developer for this data set which is setup to connect to a RAC setup with failover. Works great. No error message on testing.)
    5. In META-INF, added application.xml and weblogic-application.xml as outlined in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/b31974/deployment_topics.htm#insertedID7
    6. In WEB-INF, added weblogic.xml that is outlined in document referenced in step 5. Modified this file, adding the statements from Olaf's blog post.

    <library-name>jstl</library-name>
    </library-ref>

    <library-name>jsf</library-name>
    </library-ref>
    >
    6b. Modifed web.xml, added resource-ref to jdbc/whdp_DS
    >
    <resource-ref>
    <res-ref-name>jdbc/whdp_DS</res-ref-name>
    <res-type>javax.sql.DataSource</res-type>
    <res-auth>Container</res-auth>
    </resource-ref>
    >
    7. In the application, modified the AppService defined in the model by right clicking on the AppService and selecting configuration. I changed both the local and shared configurations to use the jdbc DataSource jdbc/whdp_DS. I am not sure which one is needed to be changed, but changing them both made the application work on the standalone WebLogic 10.3 server.
    8. Deploy to standalone server. I had previously created the application server as a target.
Now my deployment works, AND running the application works. The question now is whether this is the "best" way to do this, or is there an easier way. Also, what about developing locally? How do you manage both the data source defined for the standalone server and a simple JDBC URL for the integrated server? Couldn't find that explained in the docs anywhere.
I also noticed that with the latest JDeveloper install (build 5205), there is now an extra entry about an UDDI server not running that isn't critical in the logs. This may be caused from the reinstall and not selected UDDI as an option for WebLogic components, but this message shouldn't appear.
    Thanks, Ken

  • Install jdev1013 error

    Hi,
I unzipped the jdevstudio1013.zip and ran jdevW.exe. The error is :
Unable to create an instance of Java Virtual Machine located at path: ..\..\jdk\jre\client\jvm.dll.
    I appreciate for any help.
    Jane

Did you install into a directory with a space in its name - if you did unzip into another directory.
Also make sure that you have unzipped keeping all the sub directories structure.
    Run [jdev-root]\jdev\bin\jdev.exe
And also if you downloaded the zip that doesn't contain the JDK make sure you have the right JDK 5.0.5 set up according to the JDeveloper install guide.

  • Can't Run JDeveloper 11g on JDK 6_13 for Windows 64-bit

    Hi all,
When I attempt to run JDeveloper 11g (base install), and select my java.exe file from my JDK 6_13x64 installation I get the following error message:
"Unable to find Java Virtual Machine.
"To point to a location of a Java Virtual Machine, please refer to the Oracle9i JDeveloper Install Guide (jdev\install.html)."
In addition to the incorrect version number, the JDeveloper Install Guide makes no mention of this problem. I've found a few posts on this forum where people had this problem, but they're all pretty old, and none of them got satisfactory answers. A few possibilities mentioned in those posts that I've eliminated are as follows:
    - I've confirmed that this is, indeed, the JDK, not just a JRE.
    - This is the production version of JDeveloper 11g, not a technical preview, so it shouldn't require 1.5.
    - There are no spaces in the paths to either the JDK or JDeveloper.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
    Thanks much,
    Avrom

Thanks, Shay. That does seem to work, and will suffice as a workaround for now. But are there plans to make JDeveloper compatible with the 64-bit edition of Java? It would be nice to get what I assume is a substantial performance enhancement from using it.
10:06 PM: Actually, it doesn't work very well. JDeveloper will start, but it has a lot of stability problems; it seems to freeze at 100% CPU usage (well, 25%, but I'm on a quad processor) at the drop of a hat, such as when I minimize, walk away for 90 minutes, and come back--once it even did it just when I tried to create a new application. I've installed this version of JDev on a 32-bit system and have found it to be generally quite stable, so I assume this is a problem with my setup.

  • JDeveloper 2.0 is running very slow

My computer is a Celeron 266, 64Mb RAM, Windows NT 4.0
    Workstation SP4.
JDeveloper 2.0 Designer is running very slow and Aplications
generated too. A infobus frame with a grid display takes 2-3
seconds to scroll down in a 4000 rows table.
Compiling takes 10 seconds for a simple Grid Infobus Frame.

    Hi
The system requirements specifiecd in the JDeveloper install and
setup are 96MB RAM minimum and recommended is 128MB RAM.

  • Problem in using JDeveloper 10g with JHeadstart

I am using JDeveloper 9.0.3 and jheadstart 9.0.4.5 and I would like to test jdeveloper 10g preview with JHeadstart.
So, I have downloaded the JDeveloper 10g to test it with my old application.
Having run the Jdeveloper for the first time, I realized that Jdeveloper
installed the jheadstart automatically and following message was shown in the message window :

So I try to test one of my old application with this configuration. After Jdeveloper migrated my workspace and projects and business componenet
to the newer version, I run the application generator. It worked fine without any problem but after running the application, I got an error page showing
that my bc4j.xcfg is not in the path.
On the other hand, I found out that when I wanted to view my UIX pages, 2 dialog boxes appeared. The first one asked to upgrade
to UIX 2.2's new expression language syntax and the other which is on the top of the first one, showing that UIX runtime failed to render the page
    with following detail :

I think that I should have set some setting before use JHeadstart with JDeveloper.
    Could anybody help me ?

    Alex,
The document Sandra referred to applies to JDeveloper 10g preview (9.0.5.0). JHeadstart 9.0.4.5 will NOT work with JDeveloper 109 production (9.0.5.1).
We plan to release a new version end of april that is compatible with 9.0.5.1. See this thread for more info: JDeveloper 10g production, status JHeadstart?
