[JDevelopper 10g]problem deploying ADF libraries with JBOSS 3.2.1

Hi,
i'm testing JDevelopper 10g preview and i encounter i problem when i deploy the ADF libraries into my JBoss 3.2.1 directory.
I follow the tutorial wich implements a simple ADF Aplication, based on a simple JSP page, with Struts, BC4J.
It works well on OC4J...
So i want to run my application under JBoss 3.2.1
I try to follow the steps described in the help file but once the libraries (ADF) are copied to JBoss directory, this one does not start anymore....
any idea ?

Gilbert,
actually JDeveloper 10g preview isn't tested on other J2EE servers than OC4J (the price we had to pay for being able to release a preview in time).
So I cannot really tell what's going wrong there. However, the production release of JDeveloper 10g will support deployments to other Application Servers.

    Atlast it worked. The problem was that in my ejb-jar.xml I was referring to 2_0.dtd. I have changed that to 2.1 and it worked.
    Older ejb-jar.xml had:
    <!DOCTYPE ejb-jar PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" "C:/jboss-4.0.1sp1/docs/dtd/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd">
    I changed that to:
    <ejb-jar xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" version="2.1" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/ejb-jar_2_1.xsd">
    And it worked.

    - to re-create the WAR file with "platform=Glassfish" in the deployment profile but with the same result
    - to create an EAR file with "platform=Glassfish" in the deployment profile but with the same result (I have read in the ADF docs that for ADF applications deployment of WAR files only works witin EAR files)
    From my knowledge the ADF Faces Component demo should be deployable on the certified and supported version of Glassfish as it consists of ADF Essentials features only.
    Anyone already succeeded with deployment of ADF Faces demo application on Glassfish?

    Okay, so my problem was that the URL I was using was the OC4J launch url (http://host/applicationname and my welcome-file-list was
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>LoginPage.jsp</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
    I tried these two variations
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>LoginPage.faces</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file-list>
    <welcome-file>faces/LoginPage.jsp</welcome-file>
    </welcome-file-list>
    and neither of these worked either. (I did restart the OC4J node between each attempt.)
    I finally created an index.html file for the application with an automatic refresh content="0;URL=faces/LoginPage.jsp" and this is working.
    Should the welcome-file-list have worked? Am I doing something wrong here?
    Thanks for the help. Mark

  • Problem deploying an application with more task flow

    Hi all,
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0 and weblogic 10.3.1
    I am trying to deploy an application that has more task flows.
    I am in the home page and I click on a button and I go to a new task flow.
    If I run the application from Jdeveloper it works, but if I deploy the application and try to do it I have this error on the page .jspx:
    Error 500--Internal Server Error

    and this error on the server log:

    I have not understood well what you mean: "Its better you create an EAR profile, have proper ADF Security set up in Jdev with users and roles, and also proper roles and permissions assigned to taskflows, and then deploy the profile directly from JDev."
    I have proper ADF Security set up in Jdev with users and roles, and also proper roles and permissions assigned to taskflows, and then deploy the profile directly from JDev. After that I have deployed my application to EAR file. I am using the EAR file create by default by Jdeveloper. Is this correct? Or have I to create another profile?
    "If you still wanna deploy the EAR, check the Users and Roles section under security in the Weblogic console. Users and Roles need to be configured in Weblogic as well. In 11g they get deployed automatically but with any previous version of Jdev you might have to check this in the WLS console."
    In the weblogic console, clicking on Security realms --> myRealm --> providers, I have defined myAuthenticator
    I am using Jdeveloper 11.1.1.0 and web logic server 10.3.1, so it seems to me that users and roles get deployed automatically
    what have I to do?
    thanks

  • Is it legal to deploy ADF libraries to Tomcat?

    Hi,
    I saw some posts that describe decouple ADF from Weblogic and deploy the libraries to other app servers. As I known, ADF is free, but not open source. So, is it illegal to deploy to Tomcat?
    Thanks

    You are wrong that ADF is free.
    From the license:
    >
    "Components" refers to Oracle TopLink and Oracle Application Development Framework (ADF) which consists of the following components of the Programs: Oracle ADF Business components (aka Business Components for Java), the ADF Model Layer, ADF's Struts Data Actions or Data -Pages, ADF UIX, ADF Swing (aka Jclient), ADF Faces components ADF Mobile, ADF Controller, ADF Data Visualization components, and ADF Security.
    We grant you a nonexclusive, nontransferable limited license to use the Components and the Oracle WebLogic Server only for the purpose of developing a single prototype of your application for your internal business operations, and not for any other purpose. If you want to use the application you develop using the Components, or the Oracle WebLogic Server, for any internal data processing or for any commercial or production purposes you must contact us, or an Oracle reseller, to obtain the appropriate license. If you want to use the Program or Components for any purpose other than as expressly permitted under this agreement you must contact us, or an Oracle reseller, to obtain the appropriate license.
    >
    So you are free to develop an app using ADF, but if you use it, you need a license, regardless if you use WLS or Tomcat.

  • Problems deploying entity beans with local interfaces on Jboss?

    I guess you are missing <cmp-version>2.x</cmp-version> for your first warning and <primkey-field>primary key field </primkey-field> for you second warning in your ejb-jar.xml

  • Problem deploying adf app to weblogic

    I've successfully migrated a 10.1.3.4 adf application to 11.1.1.2.0 and can run it on the integrated wls. However, I can't deploy/install to my standalone wls (10.3.2) without getting the following error during deployment/installation of the .ear:
    An error occurred during activation of changes, please see log for details - (Class not found) javax.faces.webapp.ConverterELTag
    or at times i'll see a similar error message:
    An error occurred during activation of changes, please see log for details - (Class not found) javax.faces.component.UIComponent
    I've built the .ear file via jdev and I've installed the adf runtime libraries in the wls domain that I'm trying to deploy to. Also, from what I can gather, this has something to do with the jsf-api.jar, since those classes referenced above belong to that jar. I can see that library (jsf(1.2,1.2.9.0)) is installed on the wls domain/target that I'm deploying to. Any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks.

    I'm still unsuccessful at creating the app server connection, even after choosing weblogic 9.xx as you suggested. On one of the screens of the wizard, it asks for a Target Node value. I've only set up the AdminServer 'target' in this wls domain, so that's the value I used as the Target Node value. When I use the Test Connection button, I see nothing that tells me the connection was successful or not. If you have any more ideas or have tried this yourself and got it to work I'd like to hear about it. But, since you said this combination was not supported, I'm not sure I'm going to go that route anyhow at this point. Thanks for the help.

    I have an ADF page which has its own EO, AM and VO (view1), after I created a web service data control for an existing BPEL process and a command button for it, I found in the binding section, the view1 doesn't contain all its table column attributes, all it has is some attributes such as attributeDef, currentRow, error etc. Can you please let me know what is missing here? What I'm trying to do is bind table attributes to BPEL input variables and call the BPEL process.
    Thanks
    Tony

    Hi,
    if you deployed this to OC4J, open EM
    http://server:port/em
    and get to the Web service. You can execute it from here to see if generally this is working, or if you have a proxy problem only

  • Problem deploying web service with the deploy tool (J2EE)

    Hello,
    I am trying to deploy a sample Web Service on the Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.1 2005Q1.
    I run into a deployment problem ("jaxrpc compilation exception") when I have one of the web methods declared (in the endpoint interface) to throw a service-specific exception. The problem disappears when I change the declaration to throw an Exception.
    Here is the exception class:
    public class StockNotFoundException extends Exception {
    private String message;
    public StockNotFoundException(String message) {
    super(message);
    this.message = message;
    public String getMessage() {
    return message;
    the endpoint interface:
    public interface StockServiceIF extends Remote {
    // the service methods
    public boolean sellStocks(String ticker, int quantity)
    throws RemoteException, StockNotFoundException;
    and here are the error messages I am seeing:
    in the deploy tool dialog:

  • Serious problems deploying web application with enterprise manager

    Hi all,
    First I have to say that this thing that has happened to me today is freaking bizarre... I was trying to make a new deployment of a web application on OAS 10.1.2, using the Enterprise Manager. The application is using Spring and DWR, therefore it has some XML files included. The application worked perfect in JDeveloper 9.0.4, our development tool, and I've previously developed very similar applications in the past, and deployed them on the same server without any problem.
    Today, when I was trying to deploy my .ear file, I got this error message:
    The file specified, "FindAnExpert.ear" is not a valid ear file.
    I tried with the .war file, and this happened:
    Base Exception:
    java.util.zip.ZipException
    invalid END header (bad central directory offset). invalid END header (bad central directory offset)
    I checked that all the included .jar files were fine, I even replaced them with new ones. I started to remove files from the .war file and discovered that without the XML files I was able to deploy the application. Then I copied over those XML files through FTP and the application is working correctly, but I was not able to use the Enterprise Manager to deploy it!!! The XML files are well formed, on of them contains the details of a data source that I also reviewed to be sure that it was correctly configured... This is nuts... any ideas over there???
    Thanks in advance,
    Luis

    Luis,
    If all of the files uploaded piecemeal worked fine, then I believe your problem to be with your deployment descriptor(s). Also, note that the .war file lives in a different directory:
    C:\oc4j\j2ee\home\applications\Application-Name
    Perhaps if you have time you could post all of the associated deployment descriptor files. Log files from the C:\oc4j\j2ee\home\log\oc4j directory would also help to troubleshoot your deployment issues. You can turn up the logging level to "FINEST" for maximum output to your log file.

  • PROBLEM connect oracle 9i with JBOSS 3.2.3  application server

    i want to connect my web app to oracle9i by jboss3.2.3 .
    The database is on server machine in my domain and the application is on my local machine.
    Please help me is urgent
    Thanks

    To configure JBoss with Oracle dataabse.
    1. Copy Oracle's JDBC driver .zip file /jdbc/lib/classes12.zip to the server/default/lib directory.
    2. Copy /docs/examples/jca/oracle-ds.xml , to /server/default/deploy dir.
    3. In the oracle-ds.xml file set the <driver-class/> and <connection-url/> settings
    Class: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
    URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host>:<port>:<database>
    In the Connection URL setting, <host> is the HOST value specified in the /network/ADMIN/tnsnames.ora file, and <port> is the PORT value specified in the tnsnames.ora file, and <database> is the database name.
    4.
    Modify the standardjbosscmp-jdbc.xml configuration file, setting the <datasource> and <datasource-mapping> elements to use Oracle:
    <jbosscmp-jdbc>
    <defaults>
    <datasource>java:/OracleDS</datasource>
    <datasource-mapping>Oracle9i</datasource-mapping>
    </defaults>
    </jbosscmp-jdbc>
    5.
    Modify login-config.xml to use Oracle. Add the following <application-policy> element to login-config.xml:
    <application-policy name = "OracleDbRealm">
    <authentication>
    <login-module code =
    "org.jboss.resource.security.ConfiguredIdentityLoginModule"
    flag = "required">
    <module-option name = "principal">sa</module-option>
    <module-option name = "userName">sa</module-option>
    <module-option name = "password"></module-option>
    <module-option name ="managedConnectionFactoryName">
    jboss.jca:service=LocalTxCM,name=OracleDS
    </module-option>
    </login-module>
    </authentication>
    </application-policy>

  • URGENT -- Problem in using JMS with JBOSS

    Hi,
    My jar file which includes my Java/JMS classes can easily be executed when I use Sun Application server, but I don't know how I can change execute the same jar file in when I switch to JBOSS. Do I need to use ants? or I can use the original jar files?
    thanks,

    It can depends on your application, but basically in order to run JMS JBoss client application you need:
    1) Set proper jndi settings, e.g. by placing jndi.properties to the root of your classpath.
    2) Add some jars to your classpath from client folder of your jboss AS distribution. My latest application works well with concurrent.jar, jnp-client.jar and jbossall-client.jar on the classpath.
    You can read more at http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/guides/j2eeguide/r2/en/html/ch6.chapt.html It is valid for all the 4.x jboss versions. Check jboss samples also.

  • SQL Loader Oracle 10g problem in upload date with time data -- Very urgent.

    Hi
    I am trying to upload data using SQL loader. There are three columns in the table
    defined as DATE. When I tried upload a data like this '2007-02-15 15:10:20', it is not loading time part. The date stored as 02/15/2008' only. There is not time on that. I tried with many different format nothing work. Can please help me ?
    I have also tried with to_date --> to_timestamp it did not work.
    The application is going to be in production, I cannot change DATE to TIME STAMP. This is very urgent.
    LASTWRITTEN "decode(:LASTWRITTEN,'null',Null, to_date(:LASTWRITTEN,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:Mi:SS'))",
    CREATEDON "decode(:CREATEDON,'null',Null, to_date(:CREATEDON,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:Mi:SS'))",
    LASTUPDATEDON(21) "decode(:LASTUPDATEDON,'null',Null, to_date(:LASTUPDATEDON(21),'DD/MM/YYYY HH24:MI:SS'))"

    Your problem is most likely in decode - the return type in your expression will be character based on first search value ('null'), so it will be implicitly converted to character and then again implicitly converted to date by loading into date column. At some of this conversions you probably are loosing your time part. You can try instead use cast:
    SQL> desc t
    Name                                      Null?    Type
    LASTWRITTEN                                        DATE
    CREATEDON                                          DATE
    LASTUPDATEDON                                      DATE
    SQL> select * from t;
    no rows selected
    SQL> !cat t.ctl
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE T
    TRUNCATE
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ',' OPTIONALLY ENCLOSED BY '"' TRAILING NULLCOLS
    LASTWRITTEN
    "decode(:LASTWRITTEN,'null',cast(Null as date),
      to_date(:LASTWRITTEN,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'))",
    CREATEDON
    "decode(:CREATEDON,'null',cast(Null as date),
      to_date(:CREATEDON,'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS'))",
    LASTUPDATEDON
    "decode(:LASTUPDATEDON,'null',cast(Null as date),

  • Problems deploying PSE 9 with SCCM - "unknown software exception"

    Hy!
    I've read the Silent Installations Instructions in the Knowlage Base (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/861/cpsid_86149.html)  and tested it on a test computer with this commandline (install.bat):
    @echo off
    start /wait C:\PSE9\Setup.exe /UL1031 /V"SERIALNUMBER=1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111 COUNTRY=14"
    My "application.xml.override":
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <Configuration>
    <Payload>
      <Data key="EULADelay">0</Data>
      <Data key="EULA">Suppress</Data>
      <Data key="Registration">Suppress</Data>
      <Data key="Updates">Suppress</Data>
    </Payload>
    </Configuration>
    My part of "setup.ini":

    OEM=
    SERIALNUMBER=
    DISABLEEMSFEATURES=1
    DISABLEOLSFEATURES=1
    WATCHSERVICE=0
    MANUAL=
    REBOOT=
    On a local Installation the Installation works fine without any Error.
    Now, I'm trying to deploy PSE 9 on 10 test computers using SCCM. SCCM commandline was: Setup.exe /UL1031 /V"SERIALNUMBER=1111-1111-1111-1111-1111-1111 COUNTRY=14"
    SCCM shows that the Installation ends with an error.
    I'd looked on the testclients and every Client showed an "unknown software exception" on setup.exe:
    "Setup.exe - Error in application; The exception "unknown software exception" (0x000000d) happend in application in place of 0x004195cf.
    Here is a screenshot of this errormessage:
    After I logged into the Client there is the Desktop Icon of PSE. I'm not really sure if the installation is finished successfully when this error occur.
    Somebody knows a solution?
    Big Thanks for Help.
    Greetings

    After further try and error, using the following alternative method of setting a dataset works:
    CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataDefModel.ISCRDataSet crDataset = CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.DataSetConversion.DataSetConverter.Convert(m_XmlInfo.CustomDataSet);
    report.ReportClientDocument.DatabaseController.SetDataSource(crDataset, string.Empty, string.Empty);
