i want to connect my web app to oracle9i by jboss3.2.3 .
The database is on server machine in my domain and the application is on my local machine.

To configure JBoss with Oracle dataabse.
1. Copy Oracle's JDBC driver .zip file /jdbc/lib/classes12.zip to the server/default/lib directory.
2. Copy /docs/examples/jca/oracle-ds.xml , to /server/default/deploy dir.
3. In the oracle-ds.xml file set the <driver-class/> and <connection-url/> settings
Class: oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver
URL: jdbc:oracle:thin:@<host>:<port>:<database>
In the Connection URL setting, <host> is the HOST value specified in the /network/ADMIN/tnsnames.ora file, and <port> is the PORT value specified in the tnsnames.ora file, and <database> is the database name.

Modify the standardjbosscmp-jdbc.xml configuration file, setting the <datasource> and <datasource-mapping> elements to use Oracle:

Well...I tried too many things..googled so many times..but still could not find solution to my problem.
I use windows 8 Enterprise Edition(if this has to do something with the problem)

My oracle is installed in the D: drive and tomcat in c:. i copied the ojdbc6.jar file from oracle to lib directory of tomcat server.

Can't fix a problem 'till an actual problem is identified.

That appears to be ODBC drivers looking for a DSN (Data Set Name). If it wants a DSN, the DSN has to be specified in the code, and the DSN has to be configured in the windows host ODBC applet. So that is at least two squirrels to get in the right tree before moving forward. A ...host:...[port:]SID|service name are some of the bits needed in a jdbc connect string, and that is in no way related to DSNs. A Whole Different Animal. If it wants a DSN that might be what needs to go in the URL bit.
And ODBC setups can be confusing, especially if an x64 OS is in the mix- if that is the case there are two different ODBC configuration applets, one for x64 the other for x86, and if one gets as far as talking to an actual database it might toss an architecture error. Only way to fix that "problem" is *delete* the ODBC DSN and then run the correct (maybe the x86) ODBC config utility, and set up the DSN. Again.

i have follow the following steps
1. create ms access database.
2. create system dsn.
3. make change in listener.ora.
4. make change in hs folder.
5.change the tnsname.ora.
6. lsnrctl stop and lsnrct start.
7. create database link in oracle sql*plus.
8.select the table of ms access
but i have return the foloowing error.

Problems connecting a SE P1i to an OS X IMAP server

I just got a brand new Sony Ericsson P1i. I got it working no problem with .mac mail, however, I am having problems connecting via SSL with the server refusing to accept user name and password (that's the error message on the phone).
In the logs, I found the following entry:
"starttls: TLSv1 with cipher AES256-SHA (256/256 bits new) no authentication."
When going through the logs, I notice, that the typical SSL is using 128bits.
I am kind of stuck. Not surprisingly, the nice people at SE couldn't help so far.

Here is how to configure .mac mail on your P1i:
1.) go to -> Main Menu -> Control Panel -> Messaging -> Email Accounts
2.) either select your previously set up .mac mail or go to More and choose New Account
3) Enter the following details under the Basic tab:
Account Name: "[email protected]"
Your Name: "Your Name"
Email address: "[email protected]"
Connection Type: IMAP
Click on Inbox tab
Incoming server address: "mail.mac.com"
Username: "yourdotmacusernamen"
Password: "..."
Receive using group: "Preferred Group" this is where you get your internet connection from
Outbox tab
Outgoing server address: "smtp.mac.com"
tick Use smtp authentication
tick Use Inbox login details
Click on More
click on Advance
Inbox tab
Secure connection: "SSL"
Incoming mail port: "993"

Problem with pdf display downloaded from application server

Hi all,
I have a problem with displaying pdf downloaded from application server (saved in BINARY MODE).
I am getting the pdf output of adobe form in FPFORMOUTPUT-PDF as rawstring back to my program and then converting that rawstring into binary form using the function module SCMS_BINARY_TO_STRING.
Now, when I export the data to presentation server directly using cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download, the pdf is downloaded properly.
However, when I save the data to application server file by looping at the internal table obtained from SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY and using TRANSFER, and subsequently downloading the file in "unconverted format" from AL11 to my desktop, I am getting a "blank" pdf file (with the same number of pages as the one downloaded using gui_download).
I have tried different encodings during download but in those cases i get corrupted pdf message. only the default option of INTIAL value seems to work.
I am forced to believe that there is a problem in my code which saves the data to app server but I cant find any solution that is logical. Any solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

JBoss 4 to Sun Application Server...where to start

I'm charged with making sure my company's product, which has mostly been running on JBoss, works w/ Sun Application Server.
I've been trying to use the Migration Tool with poor results...I know some of it is because it's for JBoss 3 and not 4....
giving it the entire .EAR for our product tells me that it doesn't handle webservices...diving into the EAR's JAR containing our services and removing webservices.xml gives the same result of various permutations of putting in source code / xml leads , namely it runs and then freezes with

To possibly oversimplify, I copied out some of the most relevant .xml we have,
ejb-jar.xml
jboss.xml
jbosscmp-jdbc.xml
jboss-web.xml
web.xml
and put them in a single directory...now the Migration tool runs, leaves most of the files unchanged, and for our ejb-jar.xml it fails, and says
Unknown error.
EjbJar is Null
Admittedly our ejb-jar.xml is handcrafted and maybe suspect, but still.
So I guess right now I'm not too optimistic about this tool.
Some of the problem is my understanding of what all goes in an EAR in terms of DD is weak. I'm trying to smarten up, but haven't found a good description of "these are the typical DD files for Sun Application Server", with examples or precise descriptions of the contents...and the migration tool doesn't get to the point where it's making some of the files i expected based on

Yes, of course you can upload multiple files for tariff codes.
This can be done by the below path:-
SAP GTS Cockpit(tcode-/sapsll/menu_legal)-->Customs Management-->Classification-->Classification Master Data-->Upload Tariff Code Numbers from XML file(tocde- /SAPSLL/LLNS_UPL101).
In the above area after browsing and choosing the first file, please select multiple check box to choose more files as well. Then you can further select your application server and upload all those files in one go.
PS:- Although, we have an option to upload multiple such files but actually we should avoid multiple file uploads due to various reasons. Hence, please take utmost care during such procedure.

I installed OCMS in JBOSS AS 4.0.5.GA installation mode.I m facing the same problem on ocms startup, i.e., proxyregistrar war file is not deployed properly. OCMS not working properly with JBOSS AS 4.2.1 GA and JBOSS AS 4.2.2 GA too i.e., OCMS MBeans are not shown in the jmx-console page and the oc is not getting connected to the ocms, traffic.log file shows that application proxyregistrar is not found. Please help me out in solving this issue.

How to Connect Oracle Forms6i with oracle 10g

I'm using oracle 10g database in my xp operating system.. I installed forms6i on my system and edit the tnsname.ora file in the forms installation folder (C:\orant\NET80\ADMIN\tnsnames.ora) with local database tnsnamesora details..
But still I cant connect from forms with local database.. it shows the error ''Oracle Forms Designer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.''

Problem connecting Oracle 9i Lite to Oracle 9i Database

Hi,
I have just started working with Oracle 9i Lite and I am having
problems connecting to an Oracle 9i (9.0.1) database using the
packaging wizard. I can connect ok using SQL*Plus but when I connect
using this wizard the database is located i.e. no errors arise, but
the database schemas and tables are not found i.e. list is not
popluated.
However if I try to connect to an Oracle 8i (8.1.7) database there is
no problem and the schemas and tables are found with the list being
popluated.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I am having a similar problem, where I couldn't connect to Oracle 8i database (817). I am getting a error message when I tried to use Packaging Wizard -> Snapshot -> Import -> Username/password and jdbc:oracle:oci8:@connect string or jdbc:oracle:thin:@host:1521:Sid
The error message is 'No Suitable Driver. Make Sure the Proper JDBC drive for "jdbc:oracle:oci8i:@<connect string>" is in the classpath"

i've installed Oracle10.2.0 database and oracle 10.2.0 forms and reports and connected to the databse successfully. But now i also installed Oracle D2K and provide the desired service name in its tnsnames.ora file but still unable to connect it with database.

I have been using Forms 6i (with PS 18) against 9.2.0.8 and 10g (R1 and R2) without any problem. Your issue with the connection might be because of the tnsnames.ora incompatibility. When the Forms 6i is installed, it installs 8.0.6.3 under the hood . So, instead of using the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora that comes with the Forms 6i, set the TNS_ADMIN variable, and binary ftp the tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora from your database server (10gR2) instead. Then try again.
