JDI Reading Parameter Names

I have used reflection to read information about a class, but it does not provide the parameters names of the method arguments. I have read that I need JDI. Does anyone know of a good tutorial or sample code that will read the parameter names of methods and of other public variables in the class file?
Thanks

I've seen others for some reason "needing" this kind of "requirement" too. And the answers being that the requirement is ill-conceived, which I agree with.

  • How to read a Oracle Forms PARAMLIST without knowing parameter names

    Hi All,
    Is there a way to read a Oracle Forms Paramlist on Oracle Forms (I mean read all parameters on it) without knowing any names of the parameters?
    I´d like to create a command line at run time and put on this command line all the parameters and its values, but I will never know the quantity of parameters and its names and values.
    Example of the command line I want to create:
    rwrun.sh batch=yes destype=file desname=/tmp/cmx_objetos.pdf desformat=pdf userid=***/***@*** module=/d01/oracle/VIS/apps/apps_st/appl/ecomex/fmx/cmx_objetos.rep parameter1=value1, parameter2=value2 ... paramaterN=valueN
    Thanks.

    As Francois said it is not clear if you are talking about Forms or Reports here. If Reports: check Get parameter name and type at runtime thread.
    But if you have no idea of the number or names of the parameters? How do you know which values to assign at all?

  • Crystal Report: failed to read parameter object

    Hello -
    I have a report that consists of numerous static parms and one dynamic parm. I can save the report to my desktop but cannot save it to BO 3.1 CMC Personal Folder (or any folder for that matter).
    The dynamic parm does not use a LOV based on Business Views. A table associated with the same data source as the stored proc on which the Report itself is based provides two fields - a code field that is used in the Value and a name field which is used in the Description.
    The specific error is:
    "Failed to read data from report file <file name> Reason: failed to read parameter object".
    All the normal things have been checked -
    - VERIFied the database
    - Ensured 'No Printer' is checked
    - Ran the report (successfully) on the desktop (locally)
    The data source is Oracle. The report can be saved to the CMC and run without problem if the dynamic parameter is deleted from the report.
    The version of Crystal Reports is CR 2008 vers 12.04
    I've seen numerous postings regarding LOVs and Business Views, especially surrounding security issues, but I've yet to see a note about a dynamic parameter based on a table....
    Thanks

    Hi!
    Thanks for the response....
    Re: check the "Enable Repository Refresh" checkbox
    The SAVE failed with the Failed to read data from report file error.
    When I went to the Bus View mgr, I found the LOV. It was set as a cascading prompt (not what I wanted when I set the parm) and could not edit it. No permissions.
    I went back to the report and tried to edit the parm into which I had stuffed the LOV I can't touch in Bus Views, and found I can't open in the report canvas without logging into the repository.... which I did.... and went to edit the parm...can't open in the report canvas without logging into the repository.... which I did.... and went to edit the parm... You get the idea....
    What I had WANTED to do is take a table with 2 fields in it - a NAME and a CODE field, create a dynamic parm, use the CODE field as the Value and the NAME field as a description. When I brought in the LOV, it came in as a cascading LOV... I needed to have the Description as the user fronted piece... but I can't seem to get there from here.....

  • Reading file names in the unix box

    Hello,
    I did the following to read the files from the local directory.
    String s1 = "c:\samplefiles"
    File dir = new File(s1);
    if(dir.isDirectory())
    String listoffiles [] = dir.list();
    for(int i = 0; i <listoffiles.length ; i++)
    System.out.println(listoffiles);
    else
    System.out.println("Its not a directory");
    How can i read and print the file names in the unix box?
    Thank You.
    Kumar

    Thank You for the reply.
    In my custom page, i am trying to include a search page which includes date parameters based on which the pdf files in the unix box should be displayed in the page as a list. (The pdf file names start with the date).
    Once the user clicks the file names displayed in the page, i need to open the pdf. This part i can handle but to search the file names based on the parameter names and display in the page as the list is a bit confusing.
    Thank You.

  • How to read parameter in WebService

    hello, i am new to webservices and i want to pass a parameter to my webservice.
    i declared a parameter "myname" in my wsdd file:
    <deployment xmlns="http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/"
        xmlns:java="http://xml.apache.org/axis/wsdd/providers/java">
      <service name="TestService" provider="java:RPC">
        <parameter name="className" value="testService.TestService"/>
        <parameter name="allowedMethods" value="*"/>
        <parameter name="myname" value="myvalue"/>
      </service>
    </deployment>how can i read this parameter in my webservice classes?

    Hi,
    Here is an incomplete answer for our problem that works for me, but is unfortunately not enough because it is not specific to one webservice but to the whole axis server...
    This is certainly not the official way to do it (don't even know if there is any one) but hey...
    Okay, you have first to open the web.xml file under the following directory on my computer, I let you find yours ;)
    C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\axis\WEB-INF\web.xml
    BEFORE any <servlet> tag, add this:
    <context-param>
       <param-name>myParamName</param-name>
       <param-value>myParamValue</param-value>
    </context-param>then in the java code, in the init function of the ServiceLifeCycle, use the context Object passed as parameter like this:
    import javax.servlet.ServletContext;
    import javax.xml.rpc.server.ServletEndpointContext;
    public void init(Object context){
    ServletContext sc = ((ServletEndpointContext)context).getServletContext();
    String myParamValue = sc.getInitParameter("myParamName");
    }There you go (works for me)!
    As I said, I really hope It is possible to specify such a parameter Value for a given webservice because currently this is a very global declaration and it is not easy to modify it. The best way of doing it would be to put the thing in the wsdd file!
    Hope that help!
    Don't hesitate to post anything new if you find something, that would help me too!

  • Error occurred in deployment step 'add solution' value cannot be null Parameter name: g

    Hi!
    I have a SharePoint Server 2013 with latest updates. Worflow Manager 1.0 installed and configured correctly. The server has a website, site temblate is Reacods Center. This site is default. On the site I created a blank Document library "TestLib"
     If I create workflow in SharePoint Designer 2013, workflow works normally. Workflow set Title of element to "MyCustomTitle" and Write to History string "Done!".
    If I create Empty Solution in Visual Studio 2013, insert into solution Workflow and make same actions, my solution at deployment step fails with error:
    "error occurred in deployment step 'add solution' value cannot be null Parameter name: g"
    Please, help me to resolve this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    What if stop this service, then start it again, perform an iisreset? It will make the change applied to the whole farm.
    Also, you can check the ULS logs to see if there is any unexpected error occurs when deploying this solution.
    About how to check the ULS logs:

  • [Crystal Report] Value cannot be null. Parameter name: o

    Hi,
    I have a stock in warehouse report where the parameter is to select warehouse code.
    I used the SAP token, Warehouse@SELECT * FROM OWHS
    I linked the parameter to the report via the Select Expert: OWHS.WhsCode is equal to {?Warehouse@SELECT * FROM OWHS}
    When I preview in SAP B1, i get the error prompt: Value cannot be null. Parameter name: o
    Can someone point me to the right direction to get this work?
    Thanks.

    Creating dynamic parameter will lead to another problem as well. Kindly refer
    Re: Crystal Report Dynamic Parameter for SAP B1 version 8.8
    That's why I have to use the SAP token. The problem is I can't seem to preview the report in SAP B1 after linking the parameter to my report via select expert.

  • A problem with a parameter name.(% causing problems)

    Hello,
    I wrote a following sql query and it works fine except for parameters like drying%Total, drying%,. The reason is that in the name of parameters there is a wildcard used %. I know that I can use an escape command however I could not figure out how as I think that escape command only works with LIKE operator and not MAX. Could you please help me to resolve this problem?
    Could you please tell me what should be amended in order an Oracle would treat % as a normal character and not a wildcard?
    Thank you in advance for your help.
    SELECT c.numlotpharma AS lotnum , c.numof ,
    MAX(DECODE(RTRIM(a.parametercode),'DRYING',numvalue,0)) AS dryingdata,
    MAX(DECODE(RTRIM(a.parametercode),'DRYING%Total',numvalue,0)) AS dryingpercentageTotal,
    MAX(DECODE(RTRIM(a.parametercode),'DRYING%',numvalue,0)) AS dryingpercentage1

    INNER JOIN
    (SELECT MAX(inputindex) AS inputindex,
    parametercode , mancode
    FROM prodaccount.manufacturingdata
    WHERE parametercode IN ('DRYING','DRYING%Total','DRYING%')
    GROUP BY parametercode, mancode) b
    ON a.inputindex = b.inputindex
    AND a.parametercode = b.parametercode
    AND a.mancode = b.mancode
    INNER JOIN (SELECT Numlotpharma, numof , codeproduit

    WHERE d.codeproduit = ('Tablets')) c

    Hi,
    user12866679 wrote:
    Hello,
    I will post some production data tomorrow as I am not at work today.Great!
    If in decode % is treated as a part of parameter name then what about this part of my sql query
    WHERE parametercode IN ('DRYING','DRYING%Total','DRYING%')
    Is % treated as a wildcard?I think it is. Why do you think that?
    '%' is a wildcard only in the right-operand of LIKE. The '%' characters in the expression above are not in the right-operand of a LIKE operation. (In fact, the expression doesn't include LIKE at all.) Therefore, the '%' signs above are not treated as wildcards.
    Include in your sample data some examples where the condition above is not doing what you expect. Be sure to post the entire query, too; the part that causes the unexpected results might be something completely unconnected to the WHERE clause posted above.
    Could you please tell me what to do so it would not be treated as a widlcard but as a integral part of a parameter name.You don't have to do anything.
    Consider this example:
    CREATE TABLE     table_x
    (     x_id          NUMBER (4)
    ,     parametercode     VARCHAR2 (30)
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (0,  NULL);
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (1,  'DRYING');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (2,  'DRYING%Total');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (3,  'DRYING%');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (11, 'DRYINGFOO');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (12, 'DRYING%FOO');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (13, 'DRYINGFOOTotal');
    INSERT INTO table_x (x_id, parametercode) VALUES (14, 'FOO');
    SELECT     *
    FROM     table_x
    WHERE      parametercode IN ( 'DRYING'
                    , 'DRYING%Total'
                    , 'DRYING%'
    ;Output:
    .     X_ID PARAMETERCODE
             1 DRYING
             2 DRYING%Total
             3 DRYING%Is this what you expect? If not, what is?

  • The parameter name [...] in the query's selection criteria does not match..

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to pratice EJB 3 (which I learnt at school), with JSF and JPA, but i'm really stuck with that error :
    Exception [TOPLINK-6094] (Oracle TopLink Essentials - 2.0 (Build b41-beta2 (03/30/2007))): oracle.toplink.essentials.exceptions.QueryException
    Exception Description: The parameter name [departmentID] in the query's selection criteria does not match any parameter name defined in the query.
    Query: ReadAllQuery(oracle.datamodel.Employees)
    I will try to explain clearly what i'm trying to do :
    In fact, i'm following that tutorial :
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe1013jdev/10131/ejb_and_jpa/master-detail_pagewith_ejb.htm
    But, as i didn't have any oracle database, but had a mysql one on my machine, i decided to use that DB instead of the the oracle DB... So i created a set of example data (to replace the oracle example set) ...so i created the tables EMPLOYEE, and DEPARTMENT... with the correct relations (FK) and PK)
    All was ok, i choose my "mysql-connector" (jdbc) instead of the oracle jdbc connector... so i could follow the tutorial.
    My problem appears at the step 12 (of "Creating a Master-Detail JavaServer Faces Page"), when i run the file deptEmployees.jspx.
    The information of the first departement displays correctly :
    departmentID 1
    departmentName ... etc
    but it can't display the employees belonging to that department !
    the error is :
    JBO-29000: Exception Description: The parameter name [departmentID] in the query's selection criteria does not match any parameter name defined in the query. Query: ReadAllQuery(oracle.datamodel.Employees)
    I think i understand what is the problem... I think that the query in charge of gathering the data of a specific departement need a parameter, but couldn't find it. But i don't know why :-/ I have tried many things and read the topics talking about that error... but it didn't solved the problem. I don't know anymore where to investigate.
    I have created a Zip file of my work (it's an EJB/JSF Application.. with jdev 10.1.3.3.0)
    (available here : http://dl.free.fr/mQ5esdQuS/EJB_appli.zip)
    I would be glad if someone could take few minutes to help me.
    Thank you in advance,
    Thomas B (student)

    This is a common mistake. Java string comparisons in TopLink are case sensitive by default, and since column names are uppercase when defaulted, TopLink cannot find the "departmentID" column name. In this case, Departments ID column defaults to "DEPARTMENTID" as required by the JPA specification.
    Either change Departments id annotation to     @Id
        @Column(name="departmentID", nullable = false)
        private Integer departmentID;or change Employees' ManytoOne annotation to:
        @ManyToOne
        @JoinColumn(name = "departmentID", referencedColumnName = "DEPARTMENTID")
        private Departments departments;Best Regards,
    Chris

  • Parameter name passed in Set Callable Statement

  • After creating  a jar, input parameter names not good

    Hi,
    jdeveloper 11.1.1.3
    project a->create a util_a.jar
    project b->properties/libraries->import util_a.jar
    When I'm in project b and try to use a method of a class , jdeveloper doesn't show me the name of the parameters I wrote when creating that library
    for instance Example.hello(String name)
    In project b, the help popup just show me hello(String)
    It is a problem when generating the jar from jdeveloper, since other external jars (from the Internet) display the parameter names (and in those external jars there is neither javadoc files, nor source code, just classes)
    Where can I configure the creation of a jar file containing the original names of the parameters and not p1, p2, etc)?
    Thanks

    Imagine in the jar:
    public class Message{
    public static void send(String text,String from, String to){...}
    and now, in the other project you have
    Message.send(String p1, String p2,String p3); (in help popup)

  • Stored Procedure in access with parameter name

    Hi, i'm new in JDBC.
    I came from Ado.Net.
    I want to call a stored procedure in access and set my parameters by name and not by index.
    When i try to call the SP with params by index it works as expected,
    but with param names it give me this exception:
    java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException
    Is there a way to call SP with parameter names?
    BogN,

    Well, it still doesn't work. Here is part of the code, have a look please.
    public DisplayQueryResults() {
       String studattUrl = "jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=D:/StudAtt/StudAtt.mdb";
       String mustbUrl = "jdbc:odbc:mustb";
       try {
          Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
          studattConn = DriverManager.getConnection(studattUrl);
          Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver");
          mustbConn = DriverManager.getConnection(mustbUrl, "sa", "");
    private void getTable() {
       try {
          stmtStudAtt = studattConn.createStatement(resultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_SENSITIVE, resultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);
          stmtMustb = mustbConn.createStatement();
          CallableStatement callSP = studattConn.prepareCall("{call mustbFaculty}");
          resultSet = callSP.executeQuery();
          displayResultSet(resultSet);
       }
