"Resultset is ambigious" Actually I use following methods to create resultset object
Resultset rs = st.executeUpdate(mysql);
in jdk1.3 Resultset define in java.sql.* package so i didnt find any diffculty But I come to know that in jdk1.4 Java.beans also define Resultset class so it gives me error ?
So plese give me some ideas to avoid this error .
Waiting for ur reply

If you are importing all java.sql and java.beans package then you'll need to specify which package's ResultSet you're referring to, i.e.:
java.sql.ResultSet rs = st.executeUpdate(mysql)Try this, hope it helps.

  • Oracle 8i connectivity with JDK1.4.2 - Failure - Help Needed

    I'm new to Java-ORACLE connectivity.
    I have installed Oracle 8i v8.1.5 in my Windows 2K Adv. Server with JDK1.4.2.
    But I could connect to Oracle from Java neither thru JDBC-ODBC nor JDBC thin drivers.
    What are the files ( or classes ) needed for connectivity and where can I download them.
    Do the Oracle8i 8.1.7 JDBC drivers have backward compatibility with Oracle8i 8.1.5 ?
    Please help me in this regard with utmost information possible and sample code.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Class.forName("org.postgresql.Driver");
    Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:postgresql:SchoolA","janeve.george","l0ngl1veme");
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement();
    But an exception is thrown when the code in bold is executed. The exception is as follows:
    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: java/sql/Savepoint

    interface java.sql.Savepoint{
    public abstract int getSavepointId();
    throws java/sql/SQLException

    I have downloaded Driver for PostgreSQL for jdk1.4 but still there is this problem.

  • Help me Deploy WAR file in SUN iPlanet Web Server 6.1 SP7 using JDK1.6 & JS

    Hi All,
    Can any one help me on this.
    I'm using
    JDK1.6
    JSF1.2
    JSTL1.1
    Hibernate3.2.5
    ANT1.7
    JUnit
    HTML
    Oracle10g
    Trying to deploy this war file in SUN iPlanet Web Server 6.1 SP7. Can I use JDK1.6 & JSF1.2 in web server6.1

    What is the exact version of Web Server you are using? Should be in the error logs or try $start -version
    It would be faster if you can capture and cut and paste the data that is sent between firefox and Web Server in both the cases using /usr/sfw/bin/ssltap (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/pki/nss/tools/ssltap.html) or ethereal when you try to view that shtml file. We can see if its any different in both cases and try it from there.
    Also verify the steps given in http://docs.sun.com/source/817-1832-10/pgshtml.html
    mime.types should have :
    type=magnus-internal/parsed-html exts=shtml
    obj.conf should have :
    Service fn="shtml_send" type="magnus-internal/parsed-html" method="(GET|HEAD)"
    When you activate parsing, magnus.conf should have :
    Init funcs="shtml_init,shtml_send" shlib="install_dir/bin/https/bin/Shtml.dll" NativeThreads="no" fn="load-modules"
    Shtml.dll (or libShtml.so on UNIX), is located in install_dir/bin/https/bin for Windows, and install_dir/bin/https/lib for UNIX.

    oh. I have found the problem. Acturally, the running enviroment is under microsoft j++, so it could only support jdk1.1, but jsse only support from jdk1.2, so that's the problem why it said that no class found.
    Now I only found that oracle has a solution for SSL which support
    jkd1.1(SUN's jsse package only support from jdk1.2). It described the
    method and sample code in Oracle Advanced Security Administrator's

    Where is the code which you need help with? All I see is some XML and a description which doesn't quite seem to describe the XML you posted. There's no XPath code anywhere to be seen.

  • Java Help is not working on jdk1.4,2

    Hello,
    I am using javax.help package for context sensitive help.
    I have jh.jar file in my classpath. And it is working fine.
    Now I shifted from jdk1.3 to jdk 1.4.2 and help is not working now.
    Can anybody give me solution of this?

    did you ever consider the reason why Java has versions?
    Code compiled in version 1.3 won't work in version 1.4. for viewing online, that I always do --
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/index.html
    for downloading Java(TM) 2 SDK, Standard Edition Documentation 1.4.2
    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html
    you got to get down to near the bottom.

  • Atan in jdk1.1.8 doesn't work. help

    I am creating a program which simulate the effect of gravity on a object (for a game). For this I am working with jdk1.1.8. (not by choice). But for some reason the movement of the object just turns around. I believed that de method Math.atan2 was wrong so i have rewritten it and it worked better. But the method atan most likely doesn't work either because it is not perfect yet. Does anyone know or have an implementation of de atan method in java that works so i can use it? Because I don't know how the method works.
    maybe i am wrong here but it is basicly the only solution to my problem. if give the code of the bullet class with it. maybe anyone sees the problem there:

    I have allready tested my code to the max en I have redone the calculations about 4 times, because I couldn't believe the fault was in the method atan or atan2 from sun. But since my calculations should work in theorie (worked it out with a math teacher) it's the only options I could think of.
    [qoute]
    I haven't looked up in the API docs how atan2 is supposed to work, but I noticed these two lines in your code:
    forceAngle = atan2(dy2,dx2);//the angle of the force with the y-axis
    travelAngle = atan2( (x-oldx), (y-oldy) );
    In one place you use Y and X as the parameters and in the other case you use X and Y. They can't both be right.
    [qoute]
    In this case it is. because the forceangle is opposite the x-axis and thus the two must be reversed. (travelangle is opposite the y-axis).
    I have also tried to reverse them (for both) but the effect got worse :)
    Thanks anyway.

  • Help Please - Landscape Printing in JDK1.3

    Iam trying to print a line of text of 160 chars wide in landscape
    format. The ImageableWidth and ImageableHeight are 792 and 612
    respectively. The ImageableX and ImageableY are both 72(1 inch).
    Font -> ("Courier", Font.PLAIN, 7),
    noOfChars/line -> 162 for the Imageable area 792 x 612
    But after printing I could see the line starting after 2 inches
    as Right Margin, because of which, I'm not able to print the
    complete 160 char line.
    I set the value posX=0 to start after 1 inch, but still the printing
    starts only after 2 inches but initial few chars are eaten.
    when posX = 72
    <- 2" R Margin ->0123456789 0123456789 .... 154th char
    when posX = 0
    <- 2" R Margin ->56789 0123456789 ....... 160th char
    please help.

    Hi,
    I'm developing a report program with java and I want to print this report.
    These are my page settings:
    paper.setSize(594.936, 841.536);
    paper.setImageableArea(0,0,594.936, 841.536)
    and my print method includes :
    Graphics2D g2d = (Graphics2D) g;
    g2d.translate(pageFormat.getImageableX(), pageFormat.getImageableY());
    but I can't use the page effectively. I have 28 mm blank from the left and 13 mm blank from the right.
    I can't write anything this blank sections. It looks as if it was deleted.
    What should I do?
    Thank you very much for your help.

    <jdk1.3.1_path>/jre/bin/lib/font.properties...
    If you need to display Traditional Chinese you should replace font.properties with font.properties.zh_TW.
    Make sure to keep an original copy of font.properties.
    Also, check that jbuilder is looking at the right jdk.
    JBuilder > Tools > Configure JDK > set up the new JDK
    JBuilder > Project > Project Properties > select the new JDK
    good luck!

    As I know there is no Crystal Reports 2008 runtimes for 64 bit machines, there are only 32 bit runtimes for that product.So,I need to know when will be the 64 bit runtimes will be released or will be available.
    Also,for the CR bundled with VS 2008 (10.5), there are 64 bit runtimes which you could find on your development machine under -
    ' C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages\CrystalReports10_5\CRRedist2008_x64.msi '
    When will be 64 bit runtimes for CR 08 will be available?
    Thanks
