Jinitiator 1.3 (calling webservice on https with apache axis and jre 1.3)

I would like to run a PJC component which integrate Axis for communication with webservices located on remote server over https protocol..
I have made a backend classes with wsdl2java (axis or with SOAPUI)..
If i run a program with JDK > 1.3 all works fine... but if I run the program with JRE 1.3 (Jinitiator 1.3 PJC) I get the error:
--> javax.xml.rpc.ServiceException: java.net.MalformedURLException: unknown protocol: https

        InDocArchiveWebServiceSoap_PortType pt = ws_locator.getInDocArchiveWebServiceSoap();Do you have any Idea how to solve this?

First, I will start by saying that JInitiator was not intended to run on Win7, especially 64bit. So, it may be time to think about moving to the Java Plugin. Preferably one which is certified with your Forms version.
To your issue, I suspect you need to change the "Region and Language" settings on the client machine. This can be found on the Control Panel. If that doesn't help, take a look at this:

  • Problem in accessing webservice over https with auth cert enabled...Urgent

    Hi All,
    I am stuck in accessing webservices using ssl and auth certificate.
    I am using jdk 6 and it is not any issue with the problem I am facing...
    This is what I do...
    I have a webservice deployed which is accessible over https.
    On server, I run..
    - to generate keystoye
    keytool -genkey -alias tomcat-sv -dname "CN=<Server Machine Id>, OU=X, O=Y, L=Z, S=XY, C=YZ" -keyalg RSA -keypass changeit -storepass changeit -keystore server.keystore
    generate server certificate
    keytool -export -alias tomcat-sv -storepass changeit -file server.cer -keystore server.keystore
    On client, i run..
    To generate client keystore-
    keytool -genkey -alias tomcat-cl -dname "CN=<Client Machine Id>, OU=X, O=Y, L=Z, S=XY, C=YZ" -keyalg RSA -keypass changeit -storepass changeit -keystore client.keystore
    To generate client certificate -
    keytool -export -alias tomcat-cl -storepass changeit -file client.cer -keystore client.keystore
    Thne I import server's certificate into client keystore and Client's certificate to server's keystore by
    import server's cer to client keystore -
    keytool -import -v -trustcacerts -alias tomcat -file "C:\java\jdk1.6.0_10\bin\server.cer" -keystore client.keystore -keypass changeit -storepass changeit
    inport client's cer to server keystore -
    keytool -import -v -trustcacerts -alias tomcat -file "C:\jdk1.6.0_06\bin\client.cer" -keystore server.keystore -keypass changeit -storepass changeit
    when i try to call webservices through a java client (which is called by a python script), I get error as
    *"Exception while waiting for close java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed"*
    *"faultString: java.net.SocketException: Software caused connection abort: recv failed"*
    complete log is as following

    Hi ejp,
    thanks for your reply. I did read your post in other thread that you pointed.
    I had searched quite a lot on this issue and had idea that it might be due to firewall settings..
    but sadly, I don't know the solution. Well, you have seen the entire code that I wrote and exception too, Could you suggest me a way out? or any specific firewall setting or a workaround?
    Please let me know if you need any other info from my side regarding the code.
    Thanks a Ton!

  • JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.0:  Problem with Apache Axis 1.4 response handler

    I have written both a request handler and a response handler for calling a web service using Apache Axis 1.4.
    The request handler is working, but when the web service returns a soap fault, my response handler is not getting called (I have set breakpoints in both the "onFault" and "invoke" methods of the response handler, which extends "org.apache.axis.handlers.BasicHandler").

    The OC4J version with comes in jdeveloper has instaled ADF, is a version prepared to test your aplications and well ready for that.
    The OC4J standalone version is this [http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/index.html] and is downloaded separately here [http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/utilsoft.html] .
    The structured folder of the OC4J standAlone is never is contended inside Jdeveloper folder and when you try to install ADF with ADF runtime installer you only need to map to your OC4J folder base.
    Good Luck.

  • Web Services with Apache Axis plugin Weblogic

    Hi,
    I am a newbie to Web Services & Apache Axis. I have plugged in Apache Axis with
    Weblogic 6.1. I wanted to know whether an architecture of the following is possible.
    Web Services published on Apache Axis wrapped on SessionBeans on Weblogic 6.1.
    Also can I get some docs, samples that can help me.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Meghna

    Hi Meghna,
    hmmm...if you are going to start off with webservices, why not go with
    the very best available: WLS 8.1 has:
    - much better schema coverage,
    - rpc, doc-literal and doc-literal-wrapped style
    - async client
    - jms transport
    - security and RM
    - many new ant tasks
    See the full list: http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs81/webservices.html
    All the features...plus outstanding performance and our award winning
    support.

  • Is JAX-RPC compatible with Apache Axis?

    We are starting a new project, and our design goal is to develop server-side API that is the exposed via Web Services. The goal is to have them run within the Sun Reference Implementation, and within Apache Axis.
    My question is, if we develop to the JAX-RPC Specification, with occasional SAAJ calls for attachment processing, will our Web Services run within Apache Axis? In other words, it Apache Axis JAX-RPC and SAAJ-compatible?

    It seems that the way they handle Attachments is different. Apache Axis seems to have its own way of handling Attachments, even though it is possible that they also support the standard JAX-RPC way.
    Generally speaking, I am not very happy with how JAX-RPC handles attachments, but this is a different subject.

    Any idea what could be the issue since i have just used the sample code. Am i missing something very obvious.
    Kindly help me in this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Parul

    Hi Parul,
    I have looked inside your sample code for Camel-Kura integration. The error states that your OSGi Bundle encountered an exception due to OSGi Declarative Service Component Initialisation.
    Reference Code:
    https://github.com/parulagrawal14/Came-Kura/blob/master/org.eclipse.kura.example.camel_osgi/OSGI-INF/component.xml
    This is the Declarative Service Component Descriptor and it has the component activate and deactivate methods set to start and stop.
    Reference Code:
    https://github.com/parulagrawal14/Came-Kura/blob/master/org.eclipse.kura.example.camel_osgi/src/org/eclipse/kura/example/camel_osgi/KuraRouter.java
    Your actual service component is also defined as an Activator which is highly unexpected as it violates the principles of OSGi. Even more to it, the start and stop methods are inherited from BundleActivator but the OSGi Declarative Service Component Runtime will initialise this as a service component but the the runtime will never be able to initialise it as it will invoke start method as a component activation method but the start method is inherited from BundleActivator and it has an argument of BundleContext and for component activation, the runtime needs ComponentContext which is never injected there.
    This is why you are encountering such an error.
    I hope it helps.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Web Service security with Apache Axis. 403 forbidden error

    Hello.
    I have to invoke a Web Service method via https. To achieve that, I have correctly added the server certificate to my truststore.
    When I invoke the method, I obtain this error:
    AxisFault
    faultCode: {http://xml.apache.org/axis/}HTTP
    faultSubcode:
    faultString: (403)Forbidden
    This is because the server requests me for a client certificate.
    I have the certificate, but I don't know how to use it in the java client.
    Does anybody know how to do that? Any kind of help will be very useful.
    Thank you very much in advance.
    NOTE: If I write the url of the web service in a web browser, the server requests me for a client cert. When I chose the appropiate certficate, the web browser shows me this message from the web service: "Hello, this is a Web Service"

    Finally my problem has been solved.
    I added the necesary properties to the system and everything went well.
    This is the code:
    String trustStore = System.getProperty("java.home") + "/lib/security/cacerts".replace('/', File.separatorChar);
    String keyStore = System.getProperty("java.home") + "/lib/security/keystorePKCS12".replace('/', File.separatorChar);
    String tspasswd = "myTrustStorePassword";
    String kspasswd = "myKeyStorePassword";
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", trustStore);
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", tspasswd );
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", keyStore);
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStoreType", "PKCS12");
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", kspasswd );It's necesary to say that my keystore is PKCS12 type, and it stores only one pkcs certificate.
    Note that is also posible to set these system properties in the Tomcat start script.

  • Adobe Form Calling WebService Doesnu00B4t work with Adobe Reader 7

    Hi experts,
    We have created and adobe form that simulates a PM Notification in which the user, without logging into SAP, through an RFC and WebServices can create the notification into SAP.
    This process only works with Adobe Reader 9 and not with Adobe Reader 7.
    Can anyone tell me what main difference/component/functionality does Adobe Reader 9 have that Adobe Reader 7 doesn´t?
    When I call the Webservice through the form in Adobe 7, a pop-up message appears that says:
    "Error attempting to read from file.
    http://desaecc6.codelco.cl:8001/sap/bc/rfc/sap/zi_aviso_adobe_pm12/222/zi_aviso_adobe_pm12/zi_aviso_adobe_pm12"
    Any ideas why this error ocurrs only in Adobe Reader 7?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Fernando Montenegro

    Hello,
    I cannot tell what are the exact differencies between the version. But I can tell you should always use (at least try to use the newest Reader). I guess you´re not the only developer on Forms, so there are possibly more people depending on the version of the client browser/ Reader. There is a solution for this problem, which does not ask anything from you, only the user.
    You can easily test the Reader version through JS coding and act based on the result. I use this like this "if your Reader is lower than 8.1" then "message popup = We are sorry, your Reader is too old, this form won´t work for you. Please upgrade first.". It takes like 5 minutes (10 for lame users at max) to update his Reader.
    Maybe you should this about such a test, if the user passes the test, his application won´t have any problem, if not there is no guarantee. And YOU have no problem, nobody tells you "hey sir, your form is not working, I´m not gonna pay you".

  • Calling in to teleconferences with Conf ID and PIN

    Has anyone any advice or solutions on this one.
    I often need  (or wopuld liker) to use the skype call out facility to dial into an AT&T or similar teleconference. The reason is that usually my PC speakers and microphone give a better result than a landline/speakerphone. (It's also much cheaper if the dial in number is international).
    Occasionally it works but more ofthen the Dial Pad tones generate multiple counts...eg if i need tio dial the PIN 1234, by pressing the dial pad digits the service receives [removed for privacy] or similar. It's a real and very annoying problem when trying to join a call urgently.
    There are several earlier threads dating back years on this issue. Has anyone solved it? It's hard to believe that SKYPE developers have left such a thing unaddressed. Is there a commercial reason they want to prevent us doing this?
    Any help? Mr Skype....any ideas?
    Thanks,
    RD

  • 6.1 SP 2 certificate authenticator fails with Apache plugin and SSL

    Hi,
    Does anybody have a certificate authenticator working in WebLogic 6.1
    SP 2, in combination with the Apache HTTP Server plugin and SSL?
    We implemented a certificate authenticator that works correctly in
    WebLogic 6.1 SP 2 when we configure SSL with "Client Certificate
    Required", and access it directly from a browser (the browser hits the
    SSL port of the WebLogic server, like 7002).
    This certificate authenticator also works correctly with a proxy web
    server. We set up a Stronghold server (web server based on Apache) on
    Linux with the Apache HTTP Server plugin from BEA, configured the
    plugin to use SSL, and configured our WebLogic 6.1 SP 1 server without
    "Client Certificate Required". The certificate authenticator gets the
    end user's certificate correctly.
    This same architecture with the proxy web server does not work when we
    upgrade the WebLogic Server to SP 2. WebLogic Server logs the
    "incorrect or missing client cert" error, our certificate
    authenticator is never called, and the browser gets a 401 Unauthorized
    error.
    We looked all over the WebLogic 6.1 SP 2 installation for a newer
    version of the plugin (mod_wl_ssl.so) and found the same version as SP
    1. We double-checked that it was the Linux-specific installer
    (because we'd found that some Linux libraries are missing from the
    generic installer). So it appears to us that the plugin encodes the
    certificate in the request header in such a way that a SP 1 server can
    extract it, but an SP 2 server cannot. We were wondering whether
    there might be changes to the plugin to stay in step with the SP 2
    server that never got ported to Linux, or whether an updated Linux
    plugin never got included in the installer packages.
    So: has anybody gotten a system like
    Apache/Stronghold + WebLogic Plugin <-- SSL --> WebLogic 6.1 SP 2 +
    Cert Auth
    to work?
    Thanks in advance for any help,
    Jim Doyle

    A correction, I think:
    Now that I rolled back a system to 6.1 SP 1, it looks like 6.1 SP 1
    does include a different mod_wl_ssl.so from that in SP 2. I believe I
    was comparing the wrong file. In fact, trying to compare versions of
    the mod_wl_ssl.so makes things rather confusing:
    A mod_wl_ssl.so from a straight weblogic610sp2_generic.zip install has
    a cksum of "1853014778 1132467".
    A mod_wl_ssl.so from a weblogic610sp1_generic.zip install with a
    subsequent SP 2 upgrade install has a cksum of "1350917183 1147927".
    A mod_wl_ssl.so from a plain 6.1 install with subsequent SP 1 and SP 2
    upgrade installs, followed by an SP 2 uninstall and another SP 1
    upgrade install, has a cksum of "1471948065 1136501".
    I think I may be looking at three different plugin versions here: 6.1,
    6.1 SP 1, and 6.1 SP 2, assuming the upgrade installs don't actually
    change mod_wl_ssl.so. I'm not sure whether there's an easier way to
    verify what version of the plugin you have.
    In any case, we did try each plugin version, and none of them works
    against a 6.1 SP 2 WebLogic server.

    I don't use ssl.
    I can access to the jsp of the server with the url of apach , but i cannot use jmx throught apache. I can use jmx with the server if I don't use apache, but i need apache for the next step of the project.
    please, help me !

    I think the plug-in is intended for serves static pages, and another part of the document like MIME types.
    I assume you are using the http protocol in your client to establish a jmx connection. Try enabling HTTP tunneling in weblogic server.
    Can you post the code used to establish connetion?
