When I call someone using FaceTime from my mac, they can see me but not hear me. Is there something I need to do to make this happen? I also have an iPad 2 and FaceTime works great on it if I call somebody. Why no sound from my mac FaceTime using a mac pro and isight camera, mike combo.
If I use google it works. If I use Ichat, it works. If I use skype it works.This sounds like something similar to https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3388112?start=105&tstart=0.
Try turning down the speak volume (System Preferences->Sound->Output->Output Volume) or the microphone gain (System Preferences->Sound->Input->Input Volume). Do this on both sides of the call. -
Character conversion problems when calling FM via RFC from Unicode ECC 6.0?
Hi all,
I faced a Cyrillic character convertion problem while calling an RFC function from R/3 ECC 6.0 (initialized as Unicode system - c.p. 4103). My target system is R/3 4.6C with default c.p. 1500.
The parameter I used in my FM interface in target system is of type CHAR10 (single-byte, obviously).
I have defined rfc-connection (SM59) as an ABAP connection and further client/logon language/user/password are supplied.
The problem I faced is, that Cyrillic symbols are transferred as '#' in the target system ('#' is set as default symbol in RFC-destination definition in case character convertion error is met).
Checking convertions between c.p. 4103 and target c.p. 1500 in my source system using tools of transaction i18n shows no errors - means conversion passed O.K. It seems default character conversion executed by source system whithin the scope of RFC-destination definition is doing something wrong.
Further, I played with MDMP & Unicode settings whithin the RFC-destination definition with no successful result - perhaps due to lack of documentation for how to set and manage these parameters.
The question is: have someone any experience with any conversion between Unicode and non-Unicide systems via RFC-call (non-English target obligatory !!!), or can anyone share valuable information regarding this issue - what should be managed in the RFC-destination in order to get character conversion working? Is it acceptable to use any character parameter in the target function module interface at all?
Many thanks in advance.

Ivaylo Mutafchiev
Senior SAP ABAP Consultanthey,
I had a similar experience. I was interfacing between 4.6 (RFC), PI and ECC 6.0 (ABAP Proxy). When data was passed from ECC to 4.6, RFC received them incorrectly. So i had to send trimmed strings from ECC and receive them as strings in RFC (esp for CURR and QUAN fields). Also the receiver communication channel in PI (between PI and RFC) had to be set as Non unicode. This helped a bit. But still I am getting 2 issues, truncation of values and some additional digits !! But the above changes resolved unwanted characters problem like "<" and "#". You can find a related post in my id. Hope this info helps.. -
Problem in calling BW web templates from Netscape 7.0
Hi all
I have a problem in calling BW web template from Netscape 7.0, it gives an error " port number not accepted for security reasons" .
It works on Netscape 8.0 and ie.
regards
PaulThis is the very frequently asked question about Netscape.
http://ilias.ca/netscape/browserfaq/#portaccess
Solution is:
find the file <b>c:\Program Files\Netscape\Netscape\defaults\pref\all.js</b>
and append the following string to this file:
<b>pref("network.security.ports.banned.override", "1080");</b> -
How to show busy cursor when call webservice using as?
I want to call webservice using script,but i don't know how
to show busy cursor.please help meShow busy cursor:
>>>
CursorManager.setBusyCursor();
<<<
and hide it:
>>>
CursorManager.removeBusyCursor();
<<<
Don't forget to catch all events of the web-service to
securely remove the busy cursor. Especially, you might wish to
handle events of the 'results received' and the 'faults appeared'
logical results. -
Transfers from LiveCycle Designer 7.0 to InDesign C2
We are switching from LiveCycle Designer 7.0 to InDesign C2. Is there any way to migrate existing forms?
Thanks,
BobThose are two completely different programs. You can use InDesign to
create artwork for a form, export to PDF and then use Livecycle to dress
it up as a form. But one program does not replace the other.

ADF Mobile : Rest call to a webservice using https - Certificate Error
I'm trying to connect to a web service giving json and which uses https. I am using the following code.
Also SalesApp connects to https://abc.com
RestServiceAdapter restServiceAdapter = Model.createRestServiceAdapter();
restServiceAdapter.clearRequestProperties();
restServiceAdapter.setConnectionName("SalesApp");
restServiceAdapter.setRequestType(RestServiceAdapter.REQUEST_TYPE_GET);
restServiceAdapter.setRetryLimit(0);
restServiceAdapter.setRequestURI("/sales/rest/v1/resources");
try {
response = restServiceAdapter.send("");
I am getting an error of " Certificate was issued by an unrecognized entity ".
Is there anyway to ignore the certificate warning ? Any request properties which can help with this?
I'm not looking at adding any private certificates/verfying the certificate issued by server, just want to ignore the warning
and proceed with the rest call.Hi, sure you will need to register your private certificate with ADF Mobile's embedded JVM. This is a security mechanism - the JVM we embed will only recognize certificates from well-know CA out of box. However, you can register your private certificate with the JVM. The steps are described in the ADF Mobile Developer Guide: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35521_01/doc.111230/e24475/security.htm#CDDCCDFF.
Please note that you will need to be very careful when registering the JVM - extra spaces for example will cause certificate error and it could be hard to diagnose. Please ensure all the fields matches exactly with your private certificate's fields.
Thanks,
Joe Huang -

Is it possible to call a SOAP webservice using HTTP POST adapter
Hello Experts,
Is it possible to call a webservice using a HTTP adapter with POST method? If yes, how?
Regards,
DipteeNo this will not work since you have additional SOAP information (i.e. SOAP envelope, security information) in addition to the payload. If you need a simple HTTP-Post for example, then you don't need SOAP, you can use the more simple http protocol without the additional features of SOAP.

This is very urgent and critical.. Many thanks in advance.Hi ejp,
thanks for your reply. I did read your post in other thread that you pointed.
I had searched quite a lot on this issue and had idea that it might be due to firewall settings..
but sadly, I don't know the solution. Well, you have seen the entire code that I wrote and exception too, Could you suggest me a way out? or any specific firewall setting or a workaround?
Please let me know if you need any other info from my side regarding the code.
Thanks a Ton!

System.err.println("Execution failed. Exception: " + e);
can any one help on thisHi,
If your JAVA Application is Web based application, you can expose it as Webservice.
JAVA People will pick the data from Dbase using their application and will send the data to XI by using our XI Details like Message Interface and Data type structure and all.
So we can Use SOAP Adapter or HTTP in XI..
If you use HTTP for sending the data to XI means there is no need of Adapter also. why because HTTP sits on ABAP Stack and can directly communicate with the XI Integration Server Directly
If you are dealing with the Webservice and SAP Applications means check this
Walkthrough - SOAP XI RFC/BAPI

How to call webservice using jdev9i
Hi gurus and experts,
i need to consume a webservice using oaf. with great effort finally i created stub using axis s/w.
now i dont know how to use the stub in jdev.where to write the code and what to write.iam strucked :-( .
since there were no sample tutorial about how to call webservice from jdev9i, iam struggling to make.iam jus a starter.
and while googling i came to know that stubs can be created using jdev9i .but when i see new-->webservices--web service stub it is greyed out.
i have 2 questions now:
1)if stub created using axis can it be used in jdev9i? if yes ,please tell me how? any tutorial links also helps me.
2)if the stubs should be created only by jdev9i so that webservices can be called using jdev,then please guide me how to make it.
i need some helping hands from u guys.
Thanks a lot

RFC-to-SOAP webservice using HTTPS
Hi experts,
I have a RFC-to-SOAP (sync) and the URL of the webservice is using HTTPS. I'm not the owner of the webservice.
Encountered these errors
- for sender comm :
com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: illegal parameter
- receiver comm :
Message processing failed. Cause: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: illegal parameter: iaik.security.ssl.SSLException: Peer sent alert: Alert Fatal: illegal parameter
We are not using certificate authentication so I don't think that's the cause.
Have checked that the https is running ok for ABAP but I don't think that got anything to do with the errors. Is there something wrong with SSL setting for J2EE? If yes, how may I check?
Are there some parameters to be set up? In the RFC sender comm & SOAP receiver comm, I do not find any special settings for https.
I have read this link : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/14/ef2940cbf2195de10000000a1550b0/content.htm. Is it necessary to set the Exchange Profile Parameters? My BASIS colleague is now checking it.
Thanks for reading and will appreciate any advice!Thanks Prateek for the quick reply!
Re HTTPS certificate, do you mean the cert for my XI server or the cert from the web service?
I have tested calling the web service using SOAPUI and it works fine without using the cert given by the web service (which is expired anyway)... -
Call Webservice using REST and not SOAP
Hi, I am looking for an example of calling (invoking) a webservice from the database using PLSQL. The webservice is using REST rather than SOAP and returning XML
I have already got examples of how to call a webservice using SOAP but not for REST
Regards
AshUsing Fiddler while loading your WSDL in a browser, I can see that the WSDL is using HTTP Chunked encoding. You should configure JBoss to return the WSDL without chunked encoding.

Invokation of Webservices using HTTP
Can I invoke webservices in SAP using HTTP instead of SOAP? If so How?
Hi Vijay,
yes we can do it with HTTP
Configuring the Receiver Plain HTTP Adapter
Use
The plain HTTP outbound channel is a service provided by the Integration Engine. The system is addressed when technical routing determines a corresponding communication channel for the logical receiver from logical routing. The system sends the payload of the message to an HTTP address using HTTP, without being enhanced with an envelope.
Integration
You configure the adapter on the Parameters tab page during the definition of a communication channel in the Integration Server.
Activities
The plain HTTP adapter gives the receiver system the following specifications:
Transport Protocol
HTTP 1.0
Message Protocol
XI payload in HTTP body
Adapter Engine
Integration Server
Addressing Type
URL Address
HTTP Destination
Specify the target host, service number, and path prefix including query string:
http://<hostname:port>/<path>?<query-string>
You can identify the target host (HTTP port) of a SAP Web Application Server using the ICM monitor.
Host and port of the HTTP proxy (optional if there is a firewall between the plain HTTP adapter and the receiver system)
Authentication data for the receiver system, see also: transaction Display and Maintain RFC Destinations (SM59)
Specify the RFC destination.
Parameters from the Communication Channel for Technical Routing
● Content type (the entry text/XML is expected as default)
Specifies the content format (payload) that the message should have.
● (Optional) header fields for the receiver-specific protocol
● Select Additional Query String Attributes:
○ Sender party
○ Sender service
○ Receiver interface
○ Message ID
○ Quality of service
○ Queue ID
The queue ID is only required if the quality of service is EOIO.
● Specifications for payload manipulation
○ XML code (default UTF-8)
Specifies the character set.
○ URL escaping
Presents the XML in a URL-enabled format.
Special characters that could be interpreted as control characters are replaced with escape characters (masked).
○ Prolog
Enhances the payload for particular servers (optional, see below).
○ Epilog
Enhances the payload for particular servers (optional, see below).
Adapter-Specific Message Attributes
● To evaluate adapter attributes in the message header of the XI message, select Set Adapter-Specific Message Attributes.
● If you want missing message attributes to trigger an error message, select Fail If Adapter-Specific Message Attributes Missing.
If the indicator is set and the header for adapter-specific message attributes or one of the set attributes is missing from the message, this leads to a system error (red flag).
If you do not set the indicator, and message attributes are missing, the adapter accesses information from the adapter configuration.
● If you want to use an HTTP destination or URL set by the mapping, select URL orHTTP Destination.
(The indicator displayed depends on the Addressing Type you selected above). If you set the indicator, the URL or HTTP destination set dynamically is called by HTTP.
If the message header does not contain the URL or the HTTP destination, and you have set the Fail If Adapter-Specific Message Attributes Missingindicator, the XI message is set to status System Error.
If you do not set the indicator, the URL or HTTP destination defined statically in the communication channel is used.
The technical names of the fields are:
○ URL: TargetURL
○ HTTP Destination: HTTPDest
● If you want to use HTTP header fields, select Apply HTTP Header Fields and enter the fields in Field 1 to Field 6.
The fields are embedded in the HTTP request under the names you enter here.
The technical names of the fields are HeaderFieldOne, .... HeaderFieldSix.
● If you want to use URL parameters, select Apply URL Parameters and enter the parameters in the fields Parameter 1 to Parameter 6.
The parameters are included in the HTTP request under the names specified here.
The technical names of the fields are URLParamOne, u2026, URLParamSix.
● If you want to save HTTP header fields from the synchronous response in the XI message header, choose HTTP Header Fields (Synchronous Response) and enter the fields in the fields Field 1 to Field 6.
The fields must have the same names as the fields that are also to be sent in the HTTP response.
The technical names of the fields are HeaderFieldOne,...,HeaderFieldSix.
● The attribute namespace for the adapter is http://sap.com/xi/XI/System/HTTP.
